Isn't it interesting how someone we met online can become so immensely important to us and how much we can miss them even when we have never met them in person.

people say folks with adhd struggle with "delayed rewards" aka long term goals and as such we tend to focus more on short term rewards. what they don't talk about is that at when we Do accomplish long term goals we don't actually feel anything proportionate to the amount of work we did to achieve it. In my head I suffered for a while and then money spontaneously appeared in my bank account.

if you were trapped in a time loop how many repetitions do you think it would take for you to willingly kill another person, knowing there would be no consequences

#I'd get used to no consequences and be terrified about like. what if the day it breaks is the day I choose Worst #plus I'd probably practice so much drawing and writing and chess and languages and play video games (maybe learn speedrunning) #I don't know how long it'd take for the thought to seriously enter my mind #and then I don't see why I'd actually do it #unless I was desperately trying to break the loop so much i didn't care if I was getting arrested for it #assuming your typical day-long loop I'm saying 3000 loops in #is when I might start getting desperate enough to Get Out

#floating holiday. two of them kinda. one is minor and the other isn't floating it's just once every four years #also kinda minor

Garroth and Zane in MCD is so funny because imagine you live in a small town, so small that everybody knows everybody. And then this guy shows up who wears a full face tactical helmet all the time, and just goes by the name William. No last name or anything, just William. And he becomes this well known person who is close to the town’s mayor despite being very mysterious.

But then suddenly the mayor is assassinated for some reason (who assassinates a mayor in a town that literally no one knows?)

So everyone assumes this William guy will run for mayor because he took it upon himself to handle all the town’s matters after the mayor died, but he refuses. Like he gets genuinely upset whenever someone mentions it. And the guy is still wearing the helmet 24/7, by the way.

So then the town just?? Doesn’t have a mayor?? And so William is running around doing everything until this random person with amnesia arrives and takes over.

Then one day two people from your town is getting married. The bride’s mom hires this priest to officiate the wedding and it’s… Prince Harry?? Like literally the freaking prince from England??

And your like “that’s a bit overkill for this small town wedding but ok”

But then Prince Harry is like “that William man must reveal his face or else I can’t be here”

But William refuses and so he just doesn’t go to the wedding.

So Prince Harry officiates the wedding, and then unexpectedly William arrives, and it’s… Prince William?! The whole time the weird guy who wears a full face tactical helmet 24/7 that’s been taking care of your small town is the first born son to the king of England??

And throughout the whole night the two brothers are just giving each other the stink eye.

First you procrastinate on the task because it is not a big enough deal to get done urgently. Then you procrastinate on the task because it has become such a big deal that doing it is overwhelming. You would think that this implies a middle point where it is just big enough of a deal to get done easily, however the inherent perversity of the universe's causal geometry prevents this

No matter how shitty it might feel in the moment, most of the time when someone comes to you to communicate a boundary or a need or a negative feeling about something you did, it is actually a compliment. They are telling you BECAUSE they care about you and want it to work between you and because they trust you to care to do better. If they didn't care about you, they'd just avoid you. That uncomfortable convo is in fact a declaration of love and trust. Or at least intention of friendship. If they didn't like you, they'd just try to avoid you whenever possible. They wouldn't care to have The Talk (which is often scary and uncomfortable for them also). So try to treat their trust with care, even if it really upsets you to learn that you've accidentally hurt them
