harlan hadn’t felt like eating much these days, he still felt at a total loss as an influx of demigods were recruited back into the fold and these quests hadn’t been getting any clearer. instead of a nourishing meal, he grabbed himself a goblet of ambrosia and sat himself at a lone table to let thoughts consume him for the amount of time it’d take him to finish a couple drinks and he’d stumble somewhere for the night and make the most out of whatever situation was in front of him.

that’s when he spotted raphael and gave a direct whistle to get his attention with a two finger point and beckon to his table. now, it’d be up to the son of athena if he’d answer such a direct display of command and authority. [ @athensproud​​ ]

The once demure crispinettes of the 1300s started to grow in size and travel higher up over the ears, until eventually morphing into the ostentatious hennins and escoffions we typically associate with women's medieval head wear. EVENT TIMELINE

IC Timeline: Canonically, the snowstorm will suddenly pass through New York on Tuesday, February 1st.

OOC Timeline: Members will have from February 1st through February 8th to post their initial starters around the snowstorm. After 2/8, no new starters can be posted, but writers are free to continue their event thread until it's conclusion. An announcement will be made on both days when the event has started and ended.

EVENT DETAILS

Now that the pairings are announced, members are encouraged to reach out to the mun of their paired partner to plan out what will occur between the characters. Members are free to take liberties with the snowstorm backdrop to create whatever situational atmosphere they'd like - they can be as comedic, lowkey, absurd, mundane, adrenaline-seeking, or subtle as you'd like! If you're interested in more concrete details prior to the weather report on Tuesday, the 2014 Gulf Coast Winter Storm serves as a reference point!

Pairing Threads:

The primary reason behind the event is to encourage character interaction between characters who may not have engaged with each other before. As such, character threads are highly encouraged between the assigned pairing. Members can choose if they'd prefer to have their threads set during the action of the snowstorm (ex. thread of two character chatting while stuck in an ATM vestibule together until the power comes back on) or after the snowstorm (ex. first thread are characters running into each other two days after being stuck together in the ATM vestibule during the snowstorm).

Threads have no set length, neither in writing nor in IC time. The encounter between characters can be as brief as twenty minutes or as long as an overnighter, while threads can be full on multi-paras or simple gif conversations.

Additional Threads:

Members are also free to take advantage of the setting to engage in other snowstorm related threads during this time period, and are not limited to only engaging with their assigned partner. Other plotted threads and open starters are welcome! (ex. after being freed from the ATM vestibule, your character briefly seeks warmth at a nearby grocery store with other patrons, where an open starter may be set - or they return home to their roommate for a closed starter!)

Additionally, members are free to continue non-event threads!

PROMPT 001.

This was the last moment that Atticus could turn away from his fate, perhaps he'd been wrong the entire time; but how could one resist the sweet temptation of power that was promised to Atticus? His mind anxiously pushed back, reminding him what might happen if he failed. The son of Athena stared at the pink elixir in his goblet, contemplating what his father might think right now. Would he be proud of Atticus? Or ashamed that his only son never found the same glory that he once did? He may never know. The demigod had agreed to this journey because he wanted to help people, unlike his father who only cared about personal glory. Before he could talk himself out of it, Atticus brought the golden goblet to his lips and began to drink the ambrosia.

As soon as the last drop touched his lips, Atticus dropped the goblet and quickly tried to clutch onto the statue of his dear mother to keep himself steady though the temple around him quickly began to fade away with nothing but darkness surrounding the demigod. Atticus wanted to scream, clutching at his neck; it felt like the ambrosia was burning him from the inside out yet his voice was lost. Was he one of those unfortunate souls who wouldn't survive this stage and died for nothing? Atticus attempted to think of any possible medical explanation of what was happening but his thoughts were lost in a thick fog, worrying the demigod that he may have lost every piece of knowledge he knew.

Forcing himself back to his feet, the darkness quickly filled with flashes of his own life— memories that had been locked away deep within his own brain, ones he believed were long gone. Years of him sitting alone in his own room with nothing but the books on his shelves to keep himself company, years of his father putting work and his other family over Atticus, and years of the demigod doing anything to win his father's love and failing at every turn. He was never the child Nathaniel wanted, kept purely out of familial obligation and resentment. Even becoming a doctor would never be enough for the man who was now inching closer and closer to death.

His childhood home melted away before him and Atticus was lunged into a memory he desperately wanted to forget but was imprinted in his mind. He was in the room where he did his first surgery. Atticus had assisted in countless others before this one but it wasn't the same. The demigod wanted to scream and tell himself to be careful, not to freeze when his patient needed him most but nothing came out and the only thing he could hear was when she flatlined— the screeching only got louder and louder, until he was convinced his eardrums were going to burst.

And then silence. Before watching himself doing the procedure again, and again, and again.

Shutting his eyes, Atticus wanted this all to stop and return to the world he'd foolishly given up. The flatline screech stopped and as Atticus opened his eyes, he was somewhere different— or so he thought.

The doctor was on his back with a bright light over him and several figures looking down at his body. Atticus didn't process what was going on, until he saw his own face blankly staring back with scapple in one hand. Panic began to set in as the demigod felt the blade cutting into his own flesh, the pain was unlike anything he'd ever experienced— every inch of his flesh felt like it was on fire and for the first time in what felt like hours, his voice returned. Screams filled the room, silencing everything else and yet his pleas and cries for help went unnoticed.

It felt like this was going on for days on end, living through the experience of being cut open over and over again. The only thing Atticus could do now was pray for it to end, was this his own personal hell that would go on forever?

Closing his eyes, trying to do anything to distract his mind from what was happening to himself— the pain was suddenly gone and the feeling of the cold knife against his skin had disappeared.

Snapping back into reality, Atticus' eyes shot open when he felt the cold, tiled floor of the temple under his palms. The demigod must have been drenched in his own sweat, tears still burning down his face as his hands went to examine his chest. Fingertips traced along the phantom scars that he knew would never truly go away. The cuts may have been gone, but he would never forget the pain. Atticus' body felt weak, it took every ounce of strength to pick himself up and rest against his mothers statue. He was alone at least, nobody could see him in such a broken and vulnerable moment like this.

Was this just the beginning? Atticus started to wonder what exactly it was that he got himself into and if he'd be able to survive another encounter like this one....

former pageant queen, tried ( with very little success ) to get her children interested in it too. has a chemistry phd but has somehow never worked a day in her life. way too lenient with the kids - would probably let them get away with murder.

Ace Attorney for 001

Favorite character: Miles Edgeworth. He’s just so interesting, complex and cool.

Least Favorite character: Kristoph Gavin. Fuck that guy and fuck his game.

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Phoenix/Miles, Maya/Franziska, Maya/Ema, Gumshoe/Maggey and Athena/Simon. None of them strictly canon, but all of them good.

Character I find most attractive: Mia Fey, both appearance-wise and personality-wise.

Character I would marry: No-one, I couldn’t handle the stress their lives come with!

Character I would be best friends with: Maya Fey, of course!

a random thought: I really wish we lived in a world where Capcom didn’t interfere with the development of Apollo Justice. “Bridge to the Turnabout” was such a perfect send-off for Phoenix, we didn't need any more from him. The franchise should’ve moved beyond him.

An unpopular opinion: Related to the above, just hand the franchise over to Athena please.

My Canon OTP: Gumshoe/Maggey.

My Non-canon OTP: All the other ships I listed.

Most Badass Character: Mia Fey. Not even death can stop her from kicking ass in court!

Most Epic Villain: Godot. The fact that he was, in fact, a villain was a twist that was way more shocking than when it was used with Manfred Von Karma, and the personal animosity that had been built up between him and Phoenix made their final showdown legendary.

Pairing I am not a fan of: Phoenix/Mia. I saw no romantic chemistry between them at all. Mia was just his boss/mentor and an older sister figure for him, and I really appreciate that.

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Maya Fey in Spirit of Justice. No, writers. You do not get to show her as a mature spirit medium and then do the same damsel-in-distress bullshit you did with her when she was a precocious teenage girl.

Favorite Friendship: Phoenix and Maya. Their exchanges are always just so entertaining.

Character I most identify with: Phoenix, Miles, Maya, Ema and even Gumshoe.

ANGELINA LANG WAS BORN IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE.    that’s what the news said:  a newborn found out in the sticks,  seemingly abandoned and found by a good samaritan.    the foster homes loved her  —  a bright child,  relatively even temper,  an ANGEL given her situation  —  but not quite enough to keep her around.    she’s surrounded by children with little to lose,  but that’s just not her,  she tells herself.    she is meant to be bigger.

with age comes CHARISMA in a never-ending supply.    few have a bad word to say about the girl,  because her most valuable skill?    knowing when to keep her mouth shut.    her date to junior prom is the twenty-one-year-old former linebacker,  tommy gomez.    between the two of them,  each assume they have the upper hand.    on one hand,  she doesn’t understand what she’s tumbling into;    on the other hand,  neither does he.    he introduces her to his friends,  including a miss rachel morgan,  who also takes a liking to her,  sees something in her  —  SOMETHING STRONG.    she approaches the girl with this sentiment,  and angelina keeps her number on speed dial.

it starts with favors:  deliveries,  pick-ups,  rewarded with a night out on rachel’s tab.    she doesn’t mind third-wheeling.    soon,  tommy is too busy with work,  and angelina goes to see her on her own time,  of which rachel’s requests take more and more.    to graduation,  they carpool with rachel’s father.    he seems surprised to see a girl her age in their close company,  but he was told she was  nothing if not promising,  and it doesn’t take long for him to see it.    at her dinner that night,  tommy lays it out for her:  mr. morgan would like to offer her a position,  if she’s open to exploring his business.    she accepts,  ready to find her place in the world.

it’s not so different from life before,  except now she has her own apartment near theatre district and her arm-length friends from school exist only in scrapbooks.    jobs come and go,  more like tasks.    one year later,  she completes her first hit.    within a few months,  she is sent to a new city with 'august’ at her side and gomez in her earpiece instructing her every move.    these jobs become more frequent and complex,  and as with most things she has lost herself in,  november excels in it.    she thrives in the space between high risks and high rewards.    at twenty-two,  the next step is recruitment.

this goes sour.    it is august who missteps,  and the target takes it upon himself to rat them out.    in their final getaway,  gomez is shot and august feels the heavy hand of her partner’s blame.    however,  it is not guilt that drives them their separate ways.    august is a liability,  old news,  too clumsy.    that’s just not her,  november tells her;  she is meant to be bigger.    and by now,  she is  —  walks away from the morgans’ contracts with a dozen new offers in her inbox.    enough to sustain herself and everything she wants,  the life she wants,  the life she has.
