An interesting thought to say the very least and a theory worth testing, though by his body language she wondered if this was wise. His gaze had shifted away from her and instead to what remained of the salty snack–then all of a sudden just as the blonde thought about testing said theory he was on move again!

It’s the first time she’s ever heard him sung, though instead of simply having an appreciation–her voice decides to join his. “Way up hiiiiigh….” A minor test run to say the least.

The colors of her voice were cute, he mused as he smiled placing all the new fresh popcorn on the bowl. Damn, he was smiling like a fool there. He ought to shake it off, act normal. Mellie was probably oblivious to these feelings he was having, which the young man didn’t know whether to entertain them or attempt to forget them altogether... One thing was certain, he didn’t want to ruin their friendship with awkwardness and so... He would try his best at pacifying his beating heart.

once she filibustered for 16 hours on the eve of the christmas holidays to save planned parenthood bc a man told her not to / bc her convictions are so good and i love her.

her son, jerry, died during fitz’s second campaign and she spent three months in a deep depression, where she was regularly attacked by the press for regularly visiting his grave in her pajamas.

she didn’t win the presidential election, she lost to frankie vargas, who was assassinated almost immediately after being announced as the winner. mellie was elected by the electoral college over cyrus beene.

her chief of staff was initially olivia pope, until mellie forced her to resign.

her original pick for vp was jake ballard, who was blackmailed out of the position and replaced by frankie vargas’ widow, luna. luna died the evening of mellie’s inauguration and was replaced by cyrus beene.

olivia was replaced as chief of staff by jake ballard, who tried to push mellie out of office with the aid of cyrus beene.

jake was later arrested and sent to a maximum security prison, and cyrus was forced by olivia to resign as vp.

was under suspicion of plotting to kill cyrus beene while he was her vice president, though this was found to be a plot by cyrus to unseat her and get his shot at the oval.

underwent impeachment hearings during her first year in office, though they were later found to be under false pretenses presented by jake ballard.

i headcanon that she convinces susan ross, who ran against her for president, to come on as vp; and abby whelan, who worked previously as fitz’s chief of staff, to come on as her chief of staff, as cyrus resigned, jake was imprisoned, and olivia refused to come back on.

also this isn’t necessarily crucial to mellie, but david rosen definitely didn’t die and is helping mellie to restore her public image post impeachment-hearings thank u.

near the end of her presidency, mellie does a press conference where comes out as a lesbian and announces proposed initiatives to improve lgbtq+ support nationwide, and she works hard to implement them before her last term is up.

post-presidency she moves to new york city to live with her best friend and fellow lesbian, minerva allory (@crimscnmalice), and her friendship with min in general is included heavily in mellie’s main default verse and it’s not something that’s at all secret so people Know they’re best friends and it’s soft and cute and Fine.

her marriage to fitz was arranged for political benefit, as mellie’s father came from old money so her name was ‘good’.

had an affair with former vice president andrew nichols.

was a part of the team that conspired to rig voting machines in defiance county, ohio in order to get fitz elected, along with olivia pope, verna thorton, hollis doyle, and cyrus beene ( commonly referred to as ‘defiance’ ).

her son was murdered by a secret service agent under orders from olivia’s father, rowan pope.

was in a flirtatious relationship with president farid rashad of bashran before he was killed by olivia pope via her b613 ( an underground spy organization, now dismantled ) resources.

she legitimately has mason jars of moonshine made by her family stashed around the white house and she’s a barely-functional alcoholic and needs hugs.

ALEX as if any list of this could be completed without mentioning my longtime love charles. granted, you have a lot of amazing muses i’m itching to get more familiar with and your gift for world building is UNREAL. the headcanons, the family histories, the musings and drabbles, i’m always in awe. and charles just feels like one of those rp touchstones for me, i heard and read so much about him for years before i got the nerve to mention interacting with him, and now he’s just an all time five. writing threads so sexy and so sad against him will always be a fave.

another mention to @orumad because it’s time to talk about the king of the castle, dominic caldwell. it’s wild to think that THREE WHOLE GENERATIONS of muses came from us just wanting to fuck around with a cruel intentions plot. we literally had no idea waaaaay back when that writing dom, daisy, lux, emmy and everyone would come to this, which somehow makes it better. as someone who writes two of his love interests, his uncle, his father, and one of his children, i am in NO WAY BIASED but come on, watching melly develop dom has been so much fun and she’s up for anything when it comes to where to go next. love that sad rich boy !

also dunno if canons count but we need to discuss how well @marredmarvels writes villanelle because it fucks me up ENDLESSLY. tony’s so good at capturing her voice in such a way that it makes her feel entirely like his own creation while also remaining perfectly in character. as with all of his canons, the insecurity i usually feel about attempting my own canons or throwing an oc at them always dissipates because i know i write with a legend who’s open to anything. love her, love him, love them clowns !

Least favorite nickname: from people she’s made friends with... Sparkles, Tinkerbell. From her sisters... Mellie, Mels, Mel Mel.

Least favorite color: Red. Especially really bright red. It’s too angry. Too... sharp.

Least favorite season: Winter for sure. She thinks it’s way too cold, and it kills most of the plants around her, and makes it hard on the animals.

Least favorite weather: Dark and rainy, thunderstorms.

Least favorite—hot or cold: Cold

Least favorite holiday: Valentine’s Day, actually?? She’s all about genuine affection, and just a general genuineness. And that day just feels fake to her, overdone, like people are forcing love, and it’s something she can’t stand.

Least favorite food: Coffee is pretty high up on that list.

Least favorite flavor: Anything bitter.

Least favorite drink: Punch. Doesn’t enjoy the sourness.

Least favorite scent: Gasoline. It makes her feel nauseated.

Least favorite sound: Anything long, loud, and shrill. Storm sirens, for instance.

Least Favorite Book: She doesn’t read much, so she can’t say.

Least favorite movie: Same as above. Last movie she saw was Casablanca when it came out, hasn’t had a chance for anything since, and she loved that one, so?

Least favorite tv show: Again, same as above.

Least favorite school subject or area of study: So, her studying was a bit different... hers involved getting trained by her sisters to do magic. Her least favorite was anything having to do with blood, or healing. She has a rather sensitive stomach, and having to learn how to mend a human’s bones or seal up a wound often made her need to excuse herself from the area and collect herself for a good hour.

Least favorite aspect of their job: See above. Anytime she needs to see blood or injuries while wish granting she feels sick.

Least favorite fictional character: Tinkerbell. Gives fairies a bad name, she thinks.

Least favorite person: Her eldest sister, Jeriana. Too high opinion of herself, always strutting around like she’s better than the others just because she’s a decade or two older.

Least favorite trait in others: Cruelty. Someone being willfully mean to another person, or treating them unfairly, hurting them. This also very much extends to nature. Anyone being callous toward their surroundings, littering, tromping over plants, ect. gets her furious.

Least favorite place: Large cities. Not enough green. Not enough nature.

Least favorite thing to talk about: The more unpleasant wishes she’s been asked to grant. Now, unlike Cesia, Mel can turn down wishes. She’s under no obligation to grant them... but, that doesn’t keep some people or creatures from finding out what she is and trying to force her to do terrible things.

Least favorite thing about themselves: How gullible she is... she’s been burned plenty of times because she trusted the wrong person, confided in them, and found out they weren’t as honest as she thought. But, she can’t really help it. Her nature is to be warm, inviting, loving, trusting, open...

Least favorite sexual position: From behind.

Least favorite daily chore: None.

Least favorite style of clothing: Anything too tight. She likes flowing skirts, baggier shirts, things she can readily run around in.

Least favorite activity: Cleaning up after people, specifically hunters, campers, hikers, ect. Although, she does, occasionally, be a little petty after gathering their garbage and will toss it into their car, magic it into their house, ect.

Least favorite superpower: Mind reading. She would consider it a breach of privacy.

Least favorite thing about humanity in general: How little they seem to care about nature... she’ll grant there are some people who care a lot, who pick up after themselves, who ensure their trash makes it into a can, even help out an animal in need, ect. And them, she loves. Them, she will go out of her way to grant wishes for, make them happy as she can. But, there are plenty who don’t. And she might physically be incapable of hate, but there’s a very, very strong dislike.

Least favorite thing about being in love: Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Least favorite thing about death: .......This is a little complicated. For her kind, death is rarely final, getting reborn over and over, again. And because she’s a supernatural creature, capable of magic, she is able to see people she’s lost after they pass away, too. It’s not final. It’s just... a hiccup. A change. That might be what she likes least, the change that comes with it.
