Feeling eyes on me, I looked up, only to meet Mitsunari's, his eyes already directed at me.

Mitsunari: …Ahem.
Ran: (I accidentally said that out loud… And right when he was looking at me too…)

Mitsunari: Of course.
Ran: (Yikes, that was embarrassing. I should get back to work-)
Mitsunari: …Ah!
Turning my head back at the sound, I saw Mitsunari hurriedly gathering papers that had scattered onto the ground.
Ran: A-Are you okay? You seem a little different compared to how you usually are…
Mitsunari: O-Of course. I am no different from how I usually am. Please continue with your work without any worries.
Ran: But…
A quick glance at his table showed that his papers were still as blank as they'd originally been, alongside the spread of documents.
Ran: (...He's barely touching his work? How very unlike him. I wonder what's wrong?)
Ran: No, this isn't your usual self speaking. I mean, look… You're barely making a dent in your work.
Mitsunari: W-Well…
Mitsunari: I was merely taking a break. These will all be over in a minute once I get my focus in check.
Ran: Get your focus in check? Do you mean to say… that having me work in the same room as you is distracting?
Mitsunari: I mean, it's less distracting when I'm alone in the room. And needless to say, that contributes to speed as well.
Ran: (So I'm a distraction when being in the same room as him…)
Ran: I'll go help out elsewhere then. Just call if you need me.
Ran: (Though, I do wish he told me I was being a bother by being in the same room as him.)
Ran: I'll get going then.

Mitsunari: Wait… Please.
His arms came around me from behind, effectively stopping me from leaving.
Ran: Mitsunari-san…? Wasn't I bothering you by being in the same room as you?
Mitsunari: Do you truly think so?
Mitsunari: If that were the case, then I'd have turned you down the very moment you offered to help.
Ran: (That's a relief to hear. So… he doesn't hate me being in the same room as him.)
Ran: I'm kinda glad you stopped me when you did.
Mitsunari: I'd be troubled if you… left… while nursing the thought that I hated being alone with you.
Ran: Then… Why did you avert your gaze, as if avoiding me?
Mitsunari: Do you think I would remain unaffected, being in the same room as you for as long as I did?
Ran: …Eh?
Mitsunari: You're the one at fault here. You're the one, from whom the sweet scent is wafting.
Mitsunari: My inability to concentrate, the reason why I'm this reluctant to part from you… it's all due to that delectable scent.
Ran: *Gasp*
The arms around me tightened and were soon followed by the sudden feeling of his fangs making their mark on my neck. Warmth gently pulsates through my being.
Mitsunari: Mn… Haa… I feel like I might lose myself in this blood of yours if this goes on.
Mitsunari: …It's your fault if the things I have scheduled after this goes sideways.

I had wrapped up the day's work and was relaxing in my room when I looked up at the night sky, where a beautiful moon hung.
Ran: How beautiful…
Hideyoshi: Are you still awake? Can I come in?
Ran: Hideyoshi-san? Sure. I'm letting you in right now.
Hideyoshi: Good evening. The moon's beautiful today, isn't it?
Ran: Huh? Uh, yes. It sure is… What are you doing here late at night?
He attacked me with a hug the moment he stepped foot into the room. I should've been used to his antics by now, but I've always been thrown for a loop each and every time.
Ran: Hideyoshi-san!? Hey, what's with the sudden-
Hideyoshi: I felt like hugging you once I saw your face. Let's stay together like this tonight.
Ran: (? I can't quite put my finger on it, but he's a little different today…)
Ran: Ahaha… Surely, you must be joking. How about you let go of me first, for starters?
He didn't make a move to release me from his grasp despite having heard it loud and clear. Instead, he tightened his grip and whispered in my ear.
Hideyoshi: I mean it. I'll never let you go.
Ran: Wha- Erm…
Hideyoshi: Hey, I have a request…
Ran: W-What is it…?
Hideyoshi: I want your blood.
Ran: My blood? Did something happen?
Hideyoshi: I need it now… I really do… Can I?
Ran: You can…
Ran: (I'm sure he has a reason to require my blood.)
Ran: Alright then… Here.
Hideyoshi: Thank you. Here goes…

Saying so, he laid me down upon the futon. His gaze, staring down at me, was more serious than usual.
Ran: Hi-Hideyoshi-san? What are you-
Hideyoshi: Come now. Everything will be alright.
Ran: What… Ah!
Suddenly, he bit down on my upper arm. His fangs brought about a faint niggling edge of pain as they dug deeper, along with the feeling of his warmth.
Ran: W-Wait a minute, Hideyoshi-san!
The surprise of him biting down on a different spot from his usual one, and the fact that I was entirely unprepared, caused my body to involuntarily writhe under him.
Hideyoshi: …How sweet.
He was acting differently from usual. Despite having this in mind, I still found myself unable to move when I looked his smiling self in the eye.
Hideyoshi: A little more… Please?
Ran: …Alright.

Hideyoshi: Phew…
Ran: Hideyoshi-san… Are you feeling better now?
Hideyoshi: Yup. Sorry for springing that on you all of a sudden.
Taking my hand into his, he gently pulled me upright. His expression had also returned to his usual serenity.
Ran: (Thank God… Looks like he's back to normal now.)
Hideyoshi: With that, our blood bond with each other has deepened.
Ran: Huh? What's that supposed to mean? Wasn't it some sort of emergency…?
Hideyoshi: Hm? Did I say that?
Ran: (No way… Did he trick me!?)
Ran: But you were being so insistent on it earlier.
Hideyoshi: Oh, yes. I don't think you realize this yourself…
Hideyoshi: But you looked really happy to have me drinking your blood~
Ran: Wha- No way!
Hideyoshi: Come on now, no need to be shy. I won't tell anyone about it, so rest assured.
Ran: Are you even listening???
Hideyoshi: If you're so insistent otherwise, then how about I have another drink?
