almost 1 year anniversary of me returning to the US from Taiwan, godddd i was sooo dense and had self loathing blinders on so hardddd back then. i really could've made friends with my classmates so easily from the get go but i was convinced they hated me for no reason. i know it was mostly the trauma, and I'm grateful that i got to use those 6 months to really begin unpacking a lot of the residual bad habits and mental blocks that i still have from my childhood. but god, do i wish that I could've done all that before i went to taiwan so I could've gotten closer with ny peers but its fine. i have dreams about it every once and a while and sigh at their instagram posts but it's fine. i will go back and do it right with other people.
