Lunalapidae are categorised not by body shape, but by their triangular features, mostly with their ears and fingers (if any), their pink coloration and most notably by their drastic genetic reactions to moon stones.

The definition of a "cat" pokémon is, believe me, a very heavily debated subject. Hell, Sprigatito (cactenebria sprig) are more closely related to Cacnea (cactenebria spina) than anything else resembling a mammal, for arcssake.

Pokémon just love turning into little guys, I suppose.
