Some of my first gposes, back in the last days of Shadowbringers!
I started playing in June of '21, and only caught up with the MSQ about two weeks before Endwalker's release date. I had dabbled a tiny bit with gposing in that time, but wanted to do something a little more in-depth to kind of celebrate making it to the end!
No G'raha, because I was literally making these in the final few days of 5.55, and didn't get to him before servers went down for maintenance - alas!
(Also, I literally didn't realise that I had used Alisaie's Source model, and not the outfit she has on the First until about four months later.............)

When we meet OJ & Emerald Haywood, they’re the last standing among hunted peoples...protectors of the last of the land, the traditions, the blood.
To build the necessary world & spark the beginning, to be erased from it... This is an Indigenous ache, to not be able to go home & to have no choice but to try.
I don’t want to talk about the monster, about the unrecognizable or the unfamiliar. There is a danger sitting across you & I in our most fearful moments...the intimate strangers who know best our vulnerabilities, those for whom we set the table. I want to talk about the man who feeds the monster.
...as his imperviousness to the same evils he let upon us finally becomes true delusion, as we agree that this violence will not save even one of us,
I am glad that Jupe died.
Kihnindewa. Excerpts from I'm Glad Jupe Died: An Afro-Indigenous Reflection On NOPE (2022)
I have a lot of thoughts about the parallels between the Haywoods' story & real world afro-indigenous experiences, and how Jupe parallels real world dynamics between non-Black people of color & Black people (& anti-Blackness as an alleged means of survival). Especially the latter. So I wrote something about it!
I also have a public article on this (to expand on these thoughts & discuss even more, like Black hypversibility) in the works, but for now you can access the full piece & so much more here.
Nivienne has changed hairstyles more than she's saved the world, which for most people isn't impressive but the Warrior of Light is an outlier and should not be counted.
Featuring slight historical revisionism and Nivienne's ongoing relationship with the Aesthetician.
There are a lot of very poignant scenes in Final Fantasy XIV that never fail to make me cry, but damn if the final scene of the Weapon series doesn't always have me sobbing like a baby. Every damn time that cutscene plays, I have to go find tissues. I love it so much.
Rest under the cut for spoilers/mild ranting:
You will never convince me Gaius was a dead-beat dad, any more than you can ever convince me Thancred is one. Was he always there for his kids? No. How could he be? He had a job - a duty. And they wouldn't have respected him so much had he abandoned it for them.
And after Praetorium? He was dead. Even had he been willing to return to the Empire - which he patently was not, and rightly so - he would have been captured and tried and likely executed for treason, and his children as well. There's no doubt in my mind he thought his children were in the care of a good leader - a leader like him, and felt it safe to leave them in the hands of an Empire he still loved, that he sought to protect and cleanse of the Ascian taint.
He never had any reason to suspect they were in Valens' hands. Why shouldn't he expect his children to be safe? As long as he'd been alive, they'd been treated as children of one of the foremost legatuses of the Empire. He certainly had no reason to expect that with the Empire believing him dead with all honor that they would throw his children to the wolves. We're told in the quest that it wasn't until Gaius died in the Praetorium that they began to be abused - so until he lost contact with the Empire, his children had always been secure. He had no reason to expect that to change.
Is he perfect? No. By no means. No father is perfect. But did he love his children? Yes. Did he want the best for his children? Yes. Did they love him, even despite everything that happened between them?
Yes, without hesitation, without qualm, without qualification. They loved their father.
And he loved them equally as much.
And I hope that Allie gets better and he gets to truly be the father he deserves to be.
me: oh no, I'm too late for a Little Caesar's Hot-n-Ready =(
employee: yeah, sorry, we just have some pepperoni and cheese left.
me: *there is still some good in this world* could I please have a pepperoni?
employee: sure! that'll be 8.89 at the window.
me: *What Is The World Coming To??????*
It's good voice acting and good that we are finally here but all the same...
It will take... time to regain what has been lost here, if truly ever. He badly hurt them, perhaps moreso in snowverse than the canon aftermath delves into, it's not just going to be like that didn't happen.
It will take even longer to gain any real goodwill from S'ria and Menphina.
Thank you for accidentally echoing Venat... 🥺
I simply must point out. That the man may have admitted he did things wrong but. "I owe you an apology as well." ...as well? How about you actually back up apologize to your kids first, because you didn't properly do that, only inplied it.
Oh, don't worry. S'ria was well aware that you particularly didn't like him.
