Following this logic, it only stands to reason that no matter how distant the relation to the Midoriya family, it would be inevitable for the Addams gene---a very stubborn gene in the first place---to make itself known. It chose, of all people, Izuku, a boy so far removed from the Addams roots that his mother almost didn't have an explanation for her newborn grabbing a doctor's scalpel with unadulterated glee the moment he exited the womb.

Izuku is the USS UA's chief medical officer. He has a good relationship with Shouto, a Kaylon observing organic lifeforms, who offers to accompany them when he takes Eri, his little sister, to explore a planet the ship has stopped by. Their vessel is damaged on the way down, and their comms are blocked by the planet's atmosphere, leaving the three to survive on their own until their shipmates can find them. As they work together, feelings beyond friendship start to form.
After their shipmates find them, Izuku confides in his friends about the feelings, which is overheard by another crew member. Rumor spreads until Shouto hears, and he approaches Izuku to engage in a romantic relationship for research purposes. Izuku is hesitant to accept and asks for time to think about it. What follows is Shouto realizing and proving his sincerity to Izuku with help from Eri and other crew members.

Izuku Midoriya is the owner of a quirk long passed down through his family. Magic Star gives its user incredible abilities but it still longs to be kept a secret. A magical glittering rod and fluffy dress are easy enough to deal with when they let him live his dream of saving people.
Attending U.A. is a risk, even as a Gen Ed student, but he's confident he'll be fine even though one of his friends runs a Midori stan account and All Might is determined to take him under his wing. He's done a good job of keeping his secret up to now, so he'll be fine. He thinks.
It absolutely doesn't help that Todoroki Shouto seems close to figuring out the truth after a fleeting conversation in Hosu. But, as much as Izuku knows he shouldn't give Todoroki any chance to confirm his identity, fate seems to have other plans given their penchant for running into each other both at school and when he's on patrol.

Izuku lingers on the sentence cementing the death of his favorite character. He knows there are still a few more chapters left in the novel but
what's the point now?
“If I had been there,” he mumbles, “I wouldn't let it happen.”
Of course, thinking this is useless, and somehow that makes him even more upset.
Izuku frowns and rolls over, hugging a pillow to his chest. He has an early shift in the morning, so he should sleep, no matter how much he'd rather ask the author of the novel why the fuck they had to write such an emotionally devastating story for the villain.
So he closes his eyes and does his best to put it all aside.
(This wouldn't be much of a story if that's where it ended, though)
