SO I REALISED SOMETHING TODAY. Blue is opposite orange/ yellow on the colour wheel. And Lucy Carlyle wears so much more blue after leaving jacob's because they probably wanted to show that she wants to be as far away from all of that part of life.

I say so much more because in the flashbacks she wears outfits with hints of blue but mostly black and white representing that she doesn't want to be at Jacobs but she's alright there because she has Norrie.

After the mill incident, she wears more blue because she absolutely wants to leave it behind. Yes, she still wears black but it's mostly when in the field on a job.

Though by the end of S1, she may have made some kind of peace with it given that her cardigan in the final scene has a stripe of yellow in it.

SO MY BRAIN DECIDED TO WONDER BACK TO THE WONDERFUL IDEA OF JOY AND JEROME BEING AN ULTIMATE GRIFTER/ CON ARTIST DUO THAT I HAD LIKE OVER A YEAR AGO ON TWITTER. (this tweet here.)

I mean this mostly because I'm back on my Leverage hype because Leverage: Redemption season 2 is currently airing and I'm currently in the midst of watching Leverage: Con Artists. And I'm procrastinating a fic that I really need to finish before LR 2x11 by writing this post instead.

BUT ANYWAYSSSSSSS. BACK TO THE POINT AT HAND.

Jerome and Joy as a Grifter/ Con Artist duo. It works. Between the both of them, they cover most, if not all, the bases for a good con artist. (solely based off the info i'm getting from the leverage universe of shows.) I mean I'm sure that one or both of them took self-defence classes after all the shiz that happened in HOA so they know how to defend themselves. But like other than that, if they're good at the grifting/ acting, they won't need a hacker for a con. But if they did need a hacker, they could just hire one. (Or personal HC of Alfie went into games design/ coding for college and beyond, the pair just hire him because they already know/ trust him and don't have to spend extra time finding a hacker that has been vetted for by someone else in the thief community.) But also I like the idea of this kinda being a side thing. Jeroy dates/ romantic getaways are just them finding a mark somewhere and spending a few days to sometimes months to take them down. And like that they have normal jobs of Joy being a freelance journalist/ writer and Jerome has some sort of business enterprise. And that means they can just randomly run off to con someone and be back whenever because freelance work means she can pick her work whenever and his business can run itself when he's gone and he has a very capable co-owner that can watch over things. I mean the idea does work for a non-romantic contexts as well if shipping Jeroy ain't your thing because I can see Jerome and Joy after everything that happened in HOA, still being friends if they like broke up shortly after finishing secondary school because there aren't many people that they could really talk to about what happened in secondary school and they're the ones who probably would understand eachother's situation/ reaction to it more than the Sibuna themselves. (also on the theme of leverage, hoa and grifting. i do want to write a fic in which jerome and sophie devereaux meet in the midst of a con because it would be fun. also would totally be here for jeroy join leverage international a few years down the line of doing the duo con artist thing. also my brain did also go theoretical idea of sophie is jerome's actual mother and the clarke family are close friends of sophie who she trusts enough to him in the care of.)

What If The Problem (From Lockwood & Co) Existed In House Of Anubis?

Under The Assumption That None Of The British Kids Have Talent:

Would that mean that half the show just doesn't happen because of ghosts and Sources so the Cup Of Ankh would just get melted at the end of season 1 by DEPRAC because it kinda conjured Sarah Frobisher-Smythe's ghost but it also put her at peace. (This is assuming that they badly salted Sarah's room where she died and her ghost slipped out or whatever or that the Paragon connection be that strong that salt does not stop Sarah's ghost.) Or the Cup gets melted by DEPRAC at the start of season 2 because of Senkhara's ghost. But given that the furnace in the S1 finale didn't melt the Cup means that the Cup has some kinda otherworldly properties making impossible to melt so it probably would be just shoved in a silverglass container and kept in some high security storage facility or something like that.

That then leads to season 2 happening completely differently. Because Senkhara's ghost doesn't exist and Sarah's ghost can't send messages through the Dollhouse. But given both of those can't happen, the mystery of season 2/ the search for the Mask Of Anubis then just wouldn't happen because there's no reason to do so. But the Tunnels would still be found somehow because Rufus still exists and he's looking for the Mask and so is Victor. That means eventually Sibuna will get involved.

Moving onto season 3, so this season's whole thing is Ammut and Frombie The Zombie (Robert Frobisher-Smythe's curse being lifted to bring him back alive). Well, Ammut's a god so nothing changes there. The reawakening ceremony can still happen. But technically speaking Robert Frobisher-Smythe was meant to be dead like decades prior so I am totally saying that someone who knows their Frobisher-Smythe history defo tried to salt-bomb Frombie thinking he's a ghost. IDK, what else would change in season 3 other than that. There's no ghosts. The whole plot itself relies on the Denbys, the ceremony, the descendants and KT.

Then Touchstone Of Ra, again nothing really shifts. The only thing that could happen is another salt bombing someone who should be dead decades ago because Sophia's immortal by way of the Elixir.

BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, WHAT IF SOME OF THEM HAVE TALENT?:

So The Problem only exists in England which effects all the kids except for Nina and KT.

Nina and KT being solely American.

KT's British ancestry predates The Problem itself.

And as far as canon dictates, Nina has no British ancestry.

Eddie's father is British which therefore means if Mr Sweet had Talent, Eddie may also have Talent.

But he did grow up in American so IDK. (Maybe when he set foot on British soil, his Talent kicked in despite being like 16 in season 2. jk.)

So back to all the kids of the house across all the seasons (not including the new kids in TOR):

That's Nina, Amber, Fabian, Patricia, Alfie, Joy, Mara, Mick, Jerome, Eddie, KT, Willow.

Of those 12 kids, technically speaking only 7 of them actually directly affect plot.

Those 7 being: Nina (the Paragon), Eddie (the Osirian), KT (RFS's descendant sent to stop a great evil) and then the four Descendants being Patricia, Alfie, Joy and Jerome.

Though a case could be made for 8 actually affect plot as the nursery rhyme clues from the descendants went down the wrong family line in the Mercer-Jenks family tree because Joy didn't know the nursery rhyme but Willow did.

Okay, so 7 effecting plot, 3 of which being primarily American.

The 3 Americans would join the school either way.

The other 4 (the Descendants) on the other hand, possibly might not. Though given that all 4 are on scholarship, maybe their parents sent them to the school despite any Talent they may or may not have because the scholarship's free/ discounted schooling and boarding.

Back to the other 5 (Amber, Fabian, Mara, Mick, Willow), they don't need to be at the school so if they had Talent, they could become an Agent instead of going to school.

But given canon vague context, Amber, Mick and Mara (Amber and Mick's fathers are business men and Mara's parents are Olympic athletes) are rich kids so if they had Talent, they don't have to become an Agent for extra cash or anything, they can be normal kids (Well, as normal as one could be with Talent while not being an Agent.) and go to school.

Fabian and Willow on the other hand don't seem like hella rich kids. (I assume Fabian is on some sort of nerd scholarship. IDK about Willow, maybe she's in that comfortable income bracket because she did buy some sort of insect silk scarf for Amber which I expect did not come cheap.) So if they had Talent, they might become Agents. I completely imagine Fabian to be like a researcher and Willow to be a Sensitive considering their in-show personalities.

So this was just a rambling of thoughts. I'm fully aware that I might have missed things, I haven't watched House Of Anubis recently.
