SO MY BRAIN DECIDED TO WONDER BACK TO THE WONDERFUL IDEA OF JOY AND JEROME BEING AN ULTIMATE GRIFTER/ CON ARTIST DUO THAT I HAD LIKE OVER A YEAR AGO ON TWITTER. (this tweet here.)

I mean this mostly because I'm back on my Leverage hype because Leverage: Redemption season 2 is currently airing and I'm currently in the midst of watching Leverage: Con Artists. And I'm procrastinating a fic that I really need to finish before LR 2x11 by writing this post instead.

BUT ANYWAYSSSSSSS. BACK TO THE POINT AT HAND.

Jerome and Joy as a Grifter/ Con Artist duo. It works. Between the both of them, they cover most, if not all, the bases for a good con artist. (solely based off the info i'm getting from the leverage universe of shows.) I mean I'm sure that one or both of them took self-defence classes after all the shiz that happened in HOA so they know how to defend themselves. But like other than that, if they're good at the grifting/ acting, they won't need a hacker for a con. But if they did need a hacker, they could just hire one. (Or personal HC of Alfie went into games design/ coding for college and beyond, the pair just hire him because they already know/ trust him and don't have to spend extra time finding a hacker that has been vetted for by someone else in the thief community.) But also I like the idea of this kinda being a side thing. Jeroy dates/ romantic getaways are just them finding a mark somewhere and spending a few days to sometimes months to take them down. And like that they have normal jobs of Joy being a freelance journalist/ writer and Jerome has some sort of business enterprise. And that means they can just randomly run off to con someone and be back whenever because freelance work means she can pick her work whenever and his business can run itself when he's gone and he has a very capable co-owner that can watch over things. I mean the idea does work for a non-romantic contexts as well if shipping Jeroy ain't your thing because I can see Jerome and Joy after everything that happened in HOA, still being friends if they like broke up shortly after finishing secondary school because there aren't many people that they could really talk to about what happened in secondary school and they're the ones who probably would understand eachother's situation/ reaction to it more than the Sibuna themselves. (also on the theme of leverage, hoa and grifting. i do want to write a fic in which jerome and sophie devereaux meet in the midst of a con because it would be fun. also would totally be here for jeroy join leverage international a few years down the line of doing the duo con artist thing. also my brain did also go theoretical idea of sophie is jerome's actual mother and the clarke family are close friends of sophie who she trusts enough to him in the care of.)

I always saw Patricia as a coffee lover, despite the fact that she's British.

Maybe it's because of all the Sibuna shenanigans, because let's be real, those kids would never survive all the late-night missions without a huge amount of coffee in their systems, but to me Patricia seems like a number one coffee obsessed in the house.

Just imagine: it's seven am, Sibunas just got back from the tunnels failing to crack yet another Frobisher's tiring task, they all had four hours of sleep maximum. And Patricia literally flies in the kitchen, shoves someone out of the way to the cabinet, and maniacally grabs a jar of coffee. That just seems so canon to me.

When someone tries to talk to her in the morning, she deadpans "coffee first, your problems second". And she never pours coffee over people, because she thinks it's too precious to waste like that. She always uses other beverages to throw at people when they are being annoying, but coffee is sacred to her.

Alfie sometimes uses that to mess with her. Patricia leans on the counter with a cup of fresh coffee in her hands and he jokes around, knowing that she won't throw at him anything except her words. But he gets his justice when everyone gathers at the dining table and Patricia manages to get a grasp on the OJ jug.

Eddie always makes jokes too, like "aren't you British to drink so much coffee", and even switches her jar to decaf as a prank, but Patricia cracks it momentarily and the storm named coffee-less Trixie dawns on Anubis House. Everyone is so stressed that day, afraid of what she can do, because "no one messes with Trixie's coffee, Eddie, you just signed your death sentence".

Fabian seems like a tea lover in season 1, like a stereotypical British boy who simply refuses to acknowledge other beverages. But midnight shenanigans in season 2 definitely get him to the dark side, and season 3 Fabian cannot get through the day without coffee in his system. Seriously, have you seen how on edge he is throughout the whole season 3?? There's no way he would be like that without becoming a coffee addict.

Maybe it's just stereotypes that I'm not closely familiar with because I'm neither British nor American, and I don't really know if British people are really that obsessed with tea. But something about contemplating Sibunas beverage choice is weirdly comforting.

fabian: old fashioned, knowledgeable about whiskey but prefers rye. will talk with the bartender for hours about the history of blah blah.... blah... bla....

amber: a cosmopolitan with a specific vodka. she likes feeling fancy whilst being a tad particular. plus it's pink!

alfie: orders a cosmo to be cool, but really just wants a vodka cran. really just there for the party.

mick: "do you have a normal beer list?" he says in a craft brewery.

jerome: orders the most expensive scotch to impress someone; he does not enjoy it, but pretends to.

eddie: orders the most expensive gin and tonic to impress patricia; he's never had alcohol in his life.

patricia: rum and coke, she makes fun of eddie's $34 gin and tonic. pretends to hate clubbing.

joy: manhattan or black manhattan, served up with three cherries. and specifically that way. or there will be consequences.

kt: lemon drop martini, salt rim. only cocktail she will have that isn't a margarita tower with nina. only goes out with the promise is dancing.

mara: sensible glass or red or white. always dry. a sauvignon blanc/vinho verde for whites, or pinot noir/sonoma valley cab sav. she does her budget plan at a quiet bar on thursdays.

My first time watching House of Anubis. Overall I enjoyed the episode, I liked the mystery element. Patricia pissed me off the entire episode 😂 I get your friend is missing but taking it out on Nina wasn’t the way. I already sense a love triangle between amber, Mara, and Mick. If the video does well I’ll do the whole series.

On that note, Fabian is 100% the asshole when it comes to his relationship with Nina and Joy. Mf led Joy on and flirted with her in front of his girlfriend. Nina and Joy should have collectively beat the crap out of them.

Mara is wild and not the moral compass the show paints her to be. Don't get me wrong, I love Mara but oh my god??? She sent pictures of Ms. Robinson and Mick to Mr. Sweet to make it seem like they had an inappropriate relationship and was just like "im sorry lol Mick u deserve better im just a mathlete"

Patricia in season one deserves to be smacked. Like I know that she was being gaslit like crazy, but she bullied the shit out of Nina and she should have paid for it a little bit.

Season three isn't bad because Nina isn't there. It just carries a less serious vibe and is more comedic. The mystery is also being shown to use through Eddie's lens who completely accepts the Osirian status while Nina never wanted to be the Paragon.

Victor had every right to hate Sibuna. Mf worked his whole for this shit only to have it all unraveled by the British knock off Mystery Inc.

Jerome Clarke is an AWFUL human being and he doesn't actually become decent until Mara dumped him. He might be funny but quit acting like he's a genuine person.

I love Jeroy but it SHOULD HAVE BEEN JARA

Patricia is a bad friend for not noticing how badly Joy was hurting and for not helping her transition. Girl got KIDNAPPED dammit quit acting like things are supposed to be normal and don't let your friend act that way.
