Endgame Steddyhands — Izzy leaves, dramatic fake breakup to bring him back
Stede/Ed have reunited and are in a strong, stable relationship.
Izzy thinks Edward no longer needs him, no longer wants him, and Izzy doesn't feel like he has a place with the crew either. So when another captain offers him a position on their ship, Izzy accepts. Izzy only sends a note or message with a crewmate, "Take care of him Bonnet, if you leave him again or hurt him I'll find you and rip your throat out".
Ed's devastated by Izzy leaving. Stede too, depending on how you want to write the Izzy/Stede dynamic.
No matter what they do they can't seem to get a message to Izzy on the other ship.
So after a conversation about relationships, bearing Izzy's last message in mind Ed and Stede concoct a plan for an elaborate, over the top, fake breakup, which they stage to lure Izzy back. Like the drama teacher theater directors they are. Possibly with help from the whole crew.
Bonus for Izzy going after Stede with a knife for "breaking" Edwards heart, only to be met by "unhand me or bleed" Stede.
Dnw: character death/injury. Izzy's new crew treating him badly, one-sided feelings.

Pre or early SteddyHands — Ed realizes he doesn't want Izzy to change
Early or pre Steddyhands, Ed and Stede are having a conversation about the Izzy situation. How they both care for him, want him with them, etc.
And Stede starts trying to be helpful, brainstorm ways for Izzy to get along better with the crew, shout less, have better table manners. Something of that nature.
And Ed gets upset by this, maybe not understanding why. But he realizes he doesn't want Izzy to change, go become softer. He loves him as is, the feral, angry little man, who questions orders, sasses his captains, cares so intensely about their safety and the ship. He loves Izzy and Stede, and doesn't want Stede to change Izzy.

Ed/Izzy, Any/Izzy — Ed gets jealous, possessive, that makes Izzy angry
Sometime post reunion, established Stede/Ed, Izzy is romantically or sexually with someone other than Ed.
Maybe Izzy/Ivan/Fang happened while Stede was gone and Izzy was emotionally vulnerable. Maybe Izzy/Lucius or Izzy/Roach. Maybe Jack turns up again, alive, and Stede throws a fit because he's banned from the ship, and Izzy offers to go "distract" him because Jack's a big ol Izzy simp. Maybe somehow Stede/Izzy is happening. Maybe it's a fling with some unnamed rando we don't care about.
In any case, Edward finds out about Izzy's relationship and goes all out possessive, jealous, you're mine see this x mark on your face, etc.
But Izzy doesn't react as expected, accepting anything from Edward and desperate for his attention. Instead, Izzy is mad as hell about it. Did Ed think about thier relationship or care to ask Izzy's opinion when he was pining over Stede? Has Ed looked twice at him in fucking years? What, so Edward's allowed to move on from the horrible unhealthy thing they became as Blackbeard but Izzy isnt allowed to try and find happiness of his own? Fuck off Ed.
Up to filler how it plays out from there.
DNW: non or dub-con.

Blackhands/gen — Dark “Izzy” Enchanted
Izzy is cursed to follow every order his captain gives him. Whether he wants to or not. After they killed Horngood, Ed tried to be respectful of this. But after Stede left, Ed looses those reservations.
Or,
Izzy becomes a slave of the Kraken.

Stizzy, Blackhands, or Izzy/Ed/Stede — Starting T
Would love Stizzy, Blackhands, or Izzy/Ed/Stede for this. Canon or modern AU both welcome. T4T is especially welcome but characters (other than Izzy ofc) can also be cis.
Izzy starts or restarts T and is absolutely losing his mind. The poor man needs to be sent to horny jail immediately. Ofc, because it’s Izzy, he refuses to communicate with his boyfriend(s) about it and is just Suffering instead.

Blackhands/Steddyhands — Ghost Izzy can’t let go
Izzy is a ghost and has been a ghost since Hornigold killed him in the original Mutiny. His unfinished business is Edward. Ed loves him, can’t let him go, and Izzy swore himself to him and can’t let him go. Izzy is so weaved into Blackbeard and who Edward is he couldn’t let go of him if he wanted to - which he doesn’t.
Stede didn’t understand, and then once he is filled in - he tries to find a way to make Izzy flesh again. For Edward, and then for Izzy, and eventually for himself.
Blackhands then Gentlebeard then Steddyhands.

Stede/Ed/Izzy, Izzy + Mary & the kids — Stede's old family gets along with Izzy more than him
Set months after the reunion and the three of them getting together, Stede decides it's time for Ed and Izzy to meet his old family. He's been sharing letters with Mary and his kids and they're interested in meeting his 'boyfriends'.
Ed's as charming as ever and is is quick to befriend Mary, Doug, and the children. Izzy however, to everyone's surprise, is turning out to be the favorite. He and Mary get along like a house on fire (and share many anecdotes of Stede fucking Bonnet), Doug enjoys Izzy's eye for detail and practicality, and the kids are enamored with this gruff little man who's blunt with his words but just as gentle in action (who also stabbed their once absentee father that one time).
Ed finds it endearing, knowing that Izzy is charming and friendly when he feels comfortable. Stede is obviously happy to see his loved ones get along. Of course! Except that he feels envious of Izzy's rapport with his family, that both his children are more excited to have Izzy's attention than his. That Mary seems to gravitate to Izzy more.
Without meaning to, Stede lashes out at Izzy. Things are said, feelings are hurt, and Ed's not letting anyone back on the ship until they sort this out.
+ Inspired by all the uncle!Izzy fanworks out there. + Mary and/or the kids may get along with/relate to Izzy more but it doesn't diminish their own affections for Ed and Stede! + Ed's holding their collective single braincell.

Stede/Izzy, Ed/Stede/Izzy — No touching if you can’t be nice
I am LOVING all these Izzy prompts so here’s one more inspired by a couple of them!
Post reunion Steddyhands is a thing. But Ed has fallen back into old habits and is being dismissive of Izzy’s concerns. Maybe he’s rough in bed with him but gentle with Stede. Or ignores him but cuddles with Stede.
Stede is appalled and takes Izzy and kicks Ed out until he gets his act together.
Cue pouting/moping Ed with an increasingly bad temper but the crew are NOT doing that again so they sit him down for an intervention.
+ I really just want to see Stede snatching Izzy away from Ed and Izzy being all “yeah, this is fine, I guess” while being relieved and confused.

Lucius/Izzy, Lucius & Ed — Edward gets Jealous/possessive of Izzy, Lucius isn't taking that shit
Sort of combining two common fic tropes I'm seeing in this fandom. There are lovely fics where Lucius helps Izzy get over Ed, whether its unrequited feelings or an old relationship gone bad, and Lucius shows him he deserves good treatment, is worth noticing, etc. And there are also some very fun fics where outsiders show interest in Izzy and Edward gets hyper-possessive and jealous "no he's mine" despite being with Stede and not actively with Izzy. (And don't get me wrong here, I absolutely adore those fics.)
But I think a combo of the two would be really fascinating. Lucius and Izzy are together, and Lucius has helped Izzy get over his feelings for Ed/ his need for Ed's approval and validation.
But then Ed notices their relationship (maybe Izzy stops wearing the ring, starts wearing Lucius's neck tie thingy, maybe they're flirting on deck, whatever) and Ed gets all jealous, possessive, and loses his mind about how Izzy is his. And Lucius is not tolerating that shit after watching how Edward ignored Izzy, and also how Lucius is big on the healthy polyamory and not owning your partners. If Ed wanted to be with Izzy too and fix that relationship, that would be one thing, but that's not how Ed's reacting, he's trying to interfere with Lucius/Izzy without even talking to Izzy about it. And that will not fly.
How this ends I leave to filler, if Ed eventually learns or if Izzy and Lucius work through it together and Izzy doesn't want to be with Ed anymore, or not at the price of losing Lucius.
Do not want Ed to successfully split them up, but Ed/Izzy(/Stede) and Lucius/Izzy could be an end to this.
Again I adore the possessive Ed/Izzy fics, I just think this would be an interesting angle to explore on that too.

Any ships — Ed doesn't remember what he did as the Kraken, guilt angst
Post reunion when Ed is back to being Ed, he has no memory of the events/ things he did as the Kraken. His last memories are of people getting ready for the talent show and fighting with Izzy.
So he's confused by weeks or months having passed, and Stede suddenly being back. His first new memory is Stede declaring his love an apologizing, but stede is different, beard/new confidence.
So Ed doesn't understand why Stede's crew is suddenly resentful of him, why Lucius keeps his distance and is scared of him, why Frenchie is terrified of him and Jim keeps trying to stab him. He's confused and guilty, trying to figure out what exactly happened and what he did.
The real shocker though, are the changes to Izzy.
Izzy and Ed have sailed together for so long, and know each other so well. Maybe he's limping around deck refusing to make eye contact with Edward and doesn't trust him anymore. If you want to go harder, maybe he's stuck in his bunk with a nasty infection, or stating they need to go to the nearest port because he needs to see a doctor now that he wont be punished for that. Maybe Izzy is thinking about leaving for good. Izzy hasn't told anyone what happened to his foot or who hurt him, but that in itself is answer enough because there's only one person he'd protect like that.
If you want to go exceptionally dark I saw some gorgeous heartbreaking fanart where Ed burned the x signature tattoo off of Izzy's face, or maybe Izzy's ring is gone. This, and putting together the pieces of what happened, really hurts Ed and the he feels a ton of guilt.
Only dnw is permanent character death.

Stede/Ed/Izzy — Emotional hurt/comfort, twist on the classic "Stede has the highest EQ" trope
Ed and Izzy are both really obvious when they're upset/stressed out/otherwise unhappy. Like, they both yell, they both swear, they both threaten violence at whatever's upsetting them (Izzy with an added dash of "say things he knows are emotionally devastating"). This is something that they're both weirdly okay with, or at least used to, the big exception being the "Edward better watch his fucking step"/toe scenes.
And then you have Stede, whose responses to problems/stress are "blind panic," "petty bitchiness," and "silent inward torment."
Cue some event that upsets Stede, be that a fight with his lovers or a hurricane or running into an old bully or anything else. Can be as minor or horrifically traumatizing as you like.
The result:
Ed and Izzy not getting when Stede is truly upset, because his reactions are so far outside of what they're used to as expressions of anger or sadness or frustration.
Stede getting more snappish and withdrawn the longer he goes without dealing with his emotions.
Stede snapping like a cheap hair elastic. Think Ep2 where he has a straight-up panic attack after several hours of silently wallowing in guilt and childhood shame (morphing into general feelings of inadequacy).
And then somehow Ed and Izzy do end up figuring it out and the comfort part of the hurt/comfort ensues. Because I need the comfort part.
Bonus points: + Stede spends a lot of time trying to be the Gentleman Trauma Therapist and ends up more focused on some problem Ed and Izzy are having, which doesn't help the situation. + Neither Ed nor Izzy alone would be able to handle Stede having a breakdown this badly; it's definitely more of a "with all your powers combined" situation where they both have skills they bring to the table. + Crying.

Ed/Izzy, Izzy & Crew — Everyone is more affectionate to a touch-starved Iz, Ed is jealous/possessive
Everyone's together again. Ed and Stede have reconciled and the crew have grown more sympathetic of Izzy after learning more about him.
In an attempt to start over, the crew, now recognizing Izzy's heartbreak and desire for companionship, have taken to being kinder to him, inviting him to their fold and giving him more friendly touches. Surprisingly, Izzy takes to it like a bird to the skies, having been touch-starved for so long with only Ed and the occasional violence to go off on. He's kinder now, in as much as Izzy can be. Character growth abound for everyone.
And Ed realizes how he suddenly wants Izzy all to himself again. How dare Izzy let other people touch him when he only used to go to Ed for comfort and the friendliest touch. How dare other people touch what's been his for so long.
+ Stede and the crew gently remind Ed that Izzy is his own person. That nothing's stopping Ed from showing his own affection alongside everyone else. + Izzy.exe short-circuited on the first kind touch from the crew. Now, he can't get enough. (He still bites tho.) + Endgame Steddy Hands is peak outcome

Stede/Izzy or Stede/Ed/Izzy — Omegaverse, mating bond connections
People say when a new mating bond is formed, the old one is severed, replaced completely. In actuality, the new thread is just linked into the network.
Over the years, Ed has gotten used to ignoring the low-level constant anxiety coming from his bond with Izzy, and since things went wrong, ignoring Izzy's longing as well.
Stede on the other hand, simply can't tune out the distress he feels itching at the back of his mind. Ed insists he's fine. Stede insists he must be lying, and is upset his mate won't trust him.
Neither realize It's *Izzy* Stede is picking up on. Not until (event and Izzy's emotional reaction, which Stede feels) makes it obvious.
Something something Stizzy or SteddyHands.

Stede/Ed/Izzy, Izzy & Crew — A Christmas Carol with a twist, trauma recovery, found family
Post-reunion where everyone's made up and getting along. Except for Izzy, who despite the trauma under the kraken and attempts at making peace, is back to being ignored and cast out. Even Ed won't look at him. Stede's taken to calling him Iggy again.
Wherein Izzy doesn't get visited by ghosts to witness his past, present, and future, since he's already self-aware and remorseful of his actions.
This time, it's everyone else who's taken on the journey to discover what the hell happened to Izzy and why he's so adamant in hardened beliefs.
The crew sees his past trauma and heartbreak. Stede sees the desperation to be loved back under Izzy's brittle shell. And Ed, Ed sees all the moments and sacrifices Izzy had given to him without receiving the smallest thank you in return. Ed realizes how much he loves Izzy, that he's never put much thought into it because Izzy has always been his.
Izzy Hands experiences the mortifying ordeal of being known and loved soon after and he doesn't even know about it.
+ Can be curses, magic, or actual ghosts. Go wild! + Izzy wakes up expecting to be cast away again only for everyone to suddenly treat him with the kindness he doesn't feel deserving off. Break the Izzy but in the softest way. Overwhelm him with affection and love. + Whether Izzy finds out about what they know or remains oblivious to everyone's discovery is up to the author.

Gentlebeard — Ed whump, collapse
Ed suddenly collapses. He's been working too hard and he's completely burnt out. He could also have an injury he's trying to hide and power through. Stede and the crew don't realize how bad things have gotten until he faints right there on the deck.
