I think what's fun about Dimension 20. . Especially with the way I've watched the seasons, is seeing which campaign and characters I get attached to and which character arc hurts me the most. . (Leaving A Crown of Candy for last pretty much, for multiple reasons.. I'm getting there don't worry!)

For example in Neverafter, it's a puppet, a girl that is the symbol of Death and a cat that hits the hardest for me. Gerard's arc hurts but the two kids and the helper Cat's stories definitely had me tearing up multiple times.

Adaine in the latest Fantasy High, hit me hard. I see myself in Gorgug and Riz the most, so their arcs hit me hard.

With Unsleeping city and Starstruck Odyssey, pretty much the entire journey was like a rollercoaster of emotions.

Kug's journey in Unsleeping City as well as Skip's / Norman's journey in Starstruck, just the twists around it were heartbreaking.

Sofia and Sid's stories, I'm just marking down as Emily just wants me to cry. . . But their arcs were beautiful.

neverafter is going to hurt me. they are just characters in a story, literally and literally in the story. they are doomed by the narrative. they have to fix this broken thing, but when they do, they will never know each other. they will never adventure together. they will live their lives far, far away from each other. they will be happy. but what have they lost? what have they forgotten?

guillermo del toro’s pinocchio is a beautiful film but my god no one has adapted that story like neverafter. you can never look at it the same way again after listening to lou wilson, a black man, explaining that he chose to play as pinocchio because it’s a story about a little boy who isn’t allowed to make mistakes. that in pinocchio's story, he is fundamentally barred from childhood at once upon a time. he must earn something that everyone else is granted from birth. the other boys get to tell lies and play and get into trouble, but when pinocchio does the same thing there are grave and violent consequences. his pinocchio is trying to understand why the world is so unfair, why the rules are so different for him, why everyone else gets to be a real boy.

and I think about it every day.

#I'm sure so many other people have said it better than me but I think it deserves being said a thousand upon a thousand times #lou wilson is a phenomenal talent and storyteller and actor #and his ability to bring that character from the most ridiculous heights of comedy to gut wrenching emotion on a pinhead was unforgettable #I have so much respect for everyone in the dome but I don't think any story gripped me as much as pinocchio #d20 #dimension 20 #d20 neverafter #lou wilson

Screw it. . double post, why not. .

Favourite battle map from the seasons that I have seen fully. (I have seen clips and things from aCoC so I know some of the battle maps coming up btw but not going to include them since I don't fully know the outcomes etc)

But!!!!

FH:Freshmen Year (S1) - The Arcade. All the fights in Freshmen Year were amazing, considering it was the first one D20 did and we got to see Rick Perry's art team for the first time etc. but the arcade map has a place in my heart

Unsleeping City Chapter 1 - this is hard since I loved the fights and the battle maps but on a technical point. .the finale "Time Squaremageddon". What do you mean height and the platforms can rotate. Honestly it was close between the final battle and the Premiere of Misty's show fight.

Neverafter - Also very hard, since the maps were gorgeous and insane. But it has to go to the Toy Island fight. Just the insanity of the Whale, creating a whole different fight. Honestly it was between that and the finale. .Totally not because of certain fairies... But moving on, but honestly that map was insane. It still goes to Toy Island, because of the Huge Whale.

Starstruck for me, yes it's on Talespire but it still has battle maps. So it goes to Rec 97. Just the design of the station and the wanted posters and the other things around the map.

Fantasy High: Sophomore Year was the theatre of the mind season. But honestly the battles in that season were amazing. I would have loved to see how Leviathan would have looked.

Fantasy High : Junior Year - so far. .I fucking loved the Morded Manor fight. Just the haunted house style and the mechanic of PvP.
