Of Godsons, Fruitloops, and Lois 'I will drag all secrets out into the sun' Lane
Danny loses his parents due to their own lack of safety in the lab (death? Coma? People finally putting their foot down about the Fenton's endangering their kids? Idk pick). Jazz can't take him in due to being in college and living on its campus (and he didnt want to force her into an apartment just to keep him, he saw the prices and knows she'll have to work to make rent) and Danny fears the only place he can go to is... Vlad. (Sam's parents would never let him live with her and Tucker's place doesn't have the room)
Vlad's been lording it over Danny, smug about it all, after all he IS Danny's godfather and he has the space and money to provide for the boy in his time of need.
Only, when digging into Danny's files, his social worker discovers Vlad isn't Danny's godfather, he was meant to be but the Fenton's forgot to send/sign in the final paperwork (even if those documents were the only contact they had with Vlad over the years before the reunion)
No Danny's godparent, the person to take him should anything happen to the Fenton's is....
Lois Lane.
His mom's childhood friend.

DannyMay Day Thirty One: Free Day!!!
Quick shoutout to @dp-marvel94 for (probably unintentionally) single handedly motivating me to finish this. Your support mean a ton to me!
AO3
It was the third anniversary. Three years. Three hundred and sixty five days, three times over. Six semesters of high school. Three birthdays. One alternate evil timeline averted. Two kings overthrown. One full country of dead yetis saved. Two different tearful confessions to get the truth out and then set it straight. All within three years. And here it was.
His third Death Day.
The first had passed with little fanfare, just a casual remark from Tucker about how it had been a full year of fighting ghosts. The second had been an overdramatic affair hosted by Skulker, as he was the only ghost who had found out the exact date, that had ended with half of the dead partygoers locked up in prison for such crimes as intoxication, theft, destruction of property, and cursing in the presence of a young ghost, and all of the living partygoers nursing ectoplasmic-drink-induced headaches for weeks. This was his third Death Day, and he had very simple plans: sleep in, order a pizza, annoy Jazz, and game with Tucker and Sam all night.
“What do you mean you can’t make it?” Danny nearly shouted into the phone. “It’s my Death Day!”
“I know, Danny, and I’m sorry. I really am. My parents didn’t tell me about the gala until this morning!” Sam was genuinely sorry, Danny knew, and she almost sounded embarrassed.
“Do you have to go?”
“I tried to talk them out of it, but I think I’m stuck.”
“Are you able to come over tomorrow?” Danny switched his phone to his other hand, erasing and adding a few things to his whiteboard calendar.
“I can make that work, yeah.”
“Great! Then we can have my party a day late!”
“I’m so sorry!”
“You’re fine, Sam. I’ll see you tomorrow.” Danny hung up and flopped onto his bed. It was less than a minute later when his phone started to ring. Without even checking the caller ID, Danny answered.
“Did you talk them out of it, Sam?”
“Uh, hi Danny,” Tucker answered.
“Oh. Hi Tucker.”
“You sound disappointed to hear me.”
“Sorry, just, Sam can’t make it tonight.” There was silence on the other end, and Danny felt the need to fill it. “Y’know, to my Death Day party?”
“Um, heh heh, I uh, I have something to tell you,” Tucker’s voice dropped to a whisper.
“You can’t make it either, can you.” It wasn’t a question.
“No, I can’t. My aunts and cousins are gonna be in town for the night, and my parents have decided we’re doing a big family dinner. They’re even making me help cook. Tucker’s famous pork roast is on the menu tonight!” Danny held the phone away from his ear as his friend’s volume grew.
“Your aunts are coming to town?”
“Yeah, the lesbian ones.” Tucker sounded exasperated.
“No, I know who you’re talking about. I mean, they’re only gonna be in town for one night?”
“Yeah, road trip stuff. They’re driving cross-country, and are just stopping for the night.”
“So would tomorrow work? Because Sam can make tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow should work, yeah!”
“Great! I’ll see you then,” Danny sighed, hanging up and tossing his phone to the other side of his bed.
“Alright. How’s a halfa to spend a lonely anniversary of being brutally killed by an interdimensional gateway?” he asked into the emptiness of his room.
~~~
There was a knocking at his door. Danny blearily opened one eye. The other was pressed into his pillow and crusted shut. The knocking was incessant.
“Ugh huh ugh,” he croaked out, before falling off his bed with a thump. The knocking stopped.
“Danny? Are you okay?” Jazz’s muffled voice called through the door.
“Ugh.”
“Can I come in?”
“Yes.” The door opened slowly, before Jazz poked her head in.
“Oh, there you are. Are you okay? That doesn’t look comfortable.” Jazz took a few steps into the room and sat on the foot of Danny’s bed. Danny gently floated himself up from his position on the floor, untwisted his body, and sat next to Jazz.
“It wasn’t too uncomfortable.”
“Oh. Uh, okay. Well, can I show you something in the lab?”
“Ugh! What is it?”
“Just a little something I’ve been working on for the past few days. I think you’ll like it.”
Danny groaned and flopped backwards across his bed.
“I’m not really feeling it, Jazz. I’ve kinda had a bad day and I just want to curl up in a ball alone in my room.”
“Danny, I get that you’re tired and probably had plans that got cancelled, but you can get up and walk down stairs and stand in the lab for five minutes. Hell, you can fly down the stairs for all I care. But I really want to show you this, and it’s important to me.”
“Jazz, seriously, I don’t feel like doing anything,” Danny said, rolling to face away from his sister.
“Danny! It’s five minutes! So can you please get over your moping? Besides, I really think you’ll like it.” Jazz reached over to grab Danny’s shoulder, but her hand fell through.
“Jazz, no! I’ve been telling you that for like five minutes! I just want to sit up here and be alone!”
“This is about your Death Day, isn’t it?” Danny glanced over his shoulder, surprise written in his features. “Oh, don’t look like that. I remembered. You didn’t tell me the last two years, but I was at Skulker’s party. And, well, this is kinda about that. But I was expecting to show you tomorrow.”
“Why tomorrow?”
“I thought you were out with Tucker and Sam. You mentioned you had plans, and it was so quiet I thought nobody was home, so I was planning on showing you a little late. But then Mom asked me to come up and check on you. So here I am.” Jazz paused, waiting for a response. When none came, she continued. “You can go back to your moping as soon as we’re done, but since you’re home, can you please come down so I can show you this actually on your Death Day?”
Danny groaned with enough exaggeration to shake the walls of his room slightly. “Fine.”
“Thank you. Now come on.” Jazz grabbed her brother’s hand and pulled him out of his bedroom. She let go when they reached the stairs, but could still feel his presence behind her. To the unaccustomed, being around Danny activated the most primal fight or flight response possible in mankind. Those who didn’t know very rarely identified that it was Danny giving them that reaction, but as someone who had lived so close to him for so long, Jazz was unaffected and could see what happened to everyone else. At this point, most of Casper High didn’t really feel it anymore, but there was always the occasional outsider Jazz could study from afar.
“So, what is it you want to show me?”
“It’s a surprise, but it will definitely help you with your patrols.”
“Can you please tell me?” Jazz thought she could feel Danny making the praying motion with his hands as they entered the kitchen. “Please?”
“It’s literally at the bottom of the stairs. You can wait that long.”
“Fine! But this had better be good.”
They reached the lab doors. Jazz unlocked them and waved her arm for Danny to go first. “After you, little brother.”
“Why are the lights off?” Danny asked, halfway down the stairs. Even with the kitchen light coming from behind them and her brother in his human form, Jazz could see Danny’s slight glow. “I swear, I’m gonna trip and fall and die again. Can you-”
As Danny reached the last step, all the lights in the basement turned on at once. Approximately thirty ghosts shimmered into the visible spectrum as five humans jumped out from behind various boxes, shelves, and tables.
“SURPRISE!”
Danny stopped, eyes wide and jaw dropped.
“Happy Death Day, little brother,” Jazz said as she caught up. Danny turned to look at her, and Jazz took a moment to realize how tall her brother had grown.
“Wait, what?” Jazz was about to answer, but before she could, someone grabbed Danny away and swept him into a hug.
“Happy Death Day!” Tucker shouted, picking Danny up in a hug. As soon as he put him down, Sam picked him up instead.
“You really think either of us would miss this, you big dork?” she asked.
“I-”
“Danny-boy! C’mere!” Jack had picked up his son the instant Sam had set him down. For as tall and as filled out as he was, Danny was incredibly light. “Happy Death Birth Day, son.”
“Dad, that’s-”
“Oh Danny,” Maddie gushed. “Happy Death Day.”
In the ensuing minutes, Danny was swept from human to ghost and back again in seconds. Each being in the room wanted to make sure that they got to wish him a happy day and make sure he knew they were there to celebrate him.
From Dora to Frostbite to Dani to Valerie to Ember to Johnny back to Sam and Tucker to Kitty to the Box Ghost all the way back to Jazz, Danny didn’t know what to say. His friends and family, both alive and dead, were all here. They hadn’t forgotten. They were all here for him.
It was his third Death Day. And he’d be damned if it wasn’t his best one yet.
Danny Squared Is An Even Bigger Little Shit - Phic Phight
Prompt Creator: @frootysparkycakes Prompt: Danny and Dani bonding! Maybe they go to the park or something fun like that. Summary: Danny’s all grown up but Dani isn’t about to let him act like it
No warnings apply
“Hey Danny!”, Dani shouts sticking her head in through Danny’s wall. Causing him to promptly fall out of his now too small bed.
Untangling himself from his sheets, “Dani what the hell?!”. Dani giggles as she floats over to him, “so I hear you’re 18 now”. Danny chuckles and shakes his head, “you’re a day too late little lady”. Dani shrugs, “well it’s not like I could join in the family celebrations, so here I am today!”, she sticks her arms out to the side dramatically.
Danny laughs lightheartedly as he throws on a shirt, “alright, alright”. Dani sits down on Danny’s broad shoulder and he looks her up a down, “sometimes I forget just how tiny you are”. Dani shoves his head for that and makes a point of looking overly angry, throwing in a pouty face for added effect. Danny just rolls his eyes as he transforms and flies out the window, Dani still sitting on him.
With it being so early in the morning no one is really out and about so the two don’t get hassled, as Danny lands by a little lake. “So anything you actually had planned today?”, Danny eyes her curiously. “Do I need plans? Because I never have them”, Danny quickly comes to match Dani’s cheeky grin with one of his own. “Now see that’s how I know you really are me. Just grabbing random shit and throwing it at life, hoping you don’t die too much in the process”. As Danny starts walking, still in Phantom form, Dani wraps her legs around his neck and swings to lay upside down on Danny’s back. “Well at least you don’t have to face all that dying while being permanently 12”, Danny notes that she doesn’t even sound sad about that anymore and that makes him smile. “Eh, to hell with ageing who needs it”.
“That’s easy for you to say, you stopped yesterday. That’s still an adult not a little girl”, Danny can’t help but snort at that. “If I suddenly was a little girl I’d be highly confused, Tuck would laugh his ass off though”, the siblings both chuckle at this. Dani snickers as she swings herself up and flops her arms over Danny’s head, “I bet if you suddenly became an 18-year-old girl, he’d hit on you”. Danny makes a mildly disgusted face, “been there done that and would not recommend it”. Dani snorts but then points at the frisbee someone left on the ground, “hey wanna throw shit and try to pelt each other with plastic hard enough to bruise?”.
“Doesn’t matter how hard you throw it, you’ll never satisfy my, apparently, never-ending need to suffer”, Danny full on leaps for the frisbee sending Dani flying. Just as she turns herself around in the air Danny grins and whips the frisbee at her. She spins backwards a bit as she catches the frisbee and pulls it into her chest to lessen the speed of the projectile. She does a little spin as she sends the frisbee right back at him. He has to reach to the side a bit to catch it and the force drags him back a little.
Smirking he lifts it behind is back and whips it towards the ground, causing Dani to have to shoot forwards to catch it. After nearly slamming into the ground while Danny laughs, Dani quietly mutters “Oh it’s on cus”. Through his laughing Danny completely misses her throwing the frisbee till it slams into the side of his head, not even dazed he flies back and catches the ricochet disc. “All those times getting slammed in the head by Skulker sure helps some days!”, Danny humorously shouts as flings the frisbee sideways with a curving spin.
The two go on like this for quite some time and never even notice a couple of people taking photos or smiling at their hero having some fun. They also don’t catch the gossip about the kid who looks a lot like Phantom.
Eventually, the frisbee decides it just can’t take the abuse anymore, and snaps apart as Danny catches it while spinning backwards. Dani points and shouts at him while curled up a bit, “ha! You broke it! You lose!”. Danny sticks his tongue out the brutalised frisbee and then at Dani, “it just can’t handle my fearsome power! BEWARE!”. That results in both them floating to the ground laughing.
The two lay on the ground, watching the clouds for a bit before Dani pipes up, “this tiny body of frisbee winning power demands ice cream”. Danny chuckles as he sits up, picking her up with one hand, “well you’re not paying for it, keep your money”. Dani rolls her eyes as she squirms before phasing out of his grasp.
Dani takes up her spot on Danny’s shoulder as he lands on top of the ice cream stand. Danny sticks his and her head upside down over the top of the ice cream shop scaring the crap out of the ice cream dude. “Fu-holy crow man! Do you really always have to appear out of nowhere?”, the ice cream guy puts a hand to his chest as he shakes his head. “That’s kinda a thing ghosts do buddy, whatcha got for clearance today?”, Danny responds while Dani snickers. The ice cream guy smiles softly as he lifts up 5 tubs of superkid ice cream, “this literally all goes bad in 4 hours. Boss ordered way too much even if it is our most popular flavour. Just take a full one”. Danny tosses a 20$ on the table as Dani snatches up the full tub of ice cream. Both them catch the guy chuckle and say to himself, “you don’t really have to pay for shit Phantom, but thanks. I don’t even know how you get money”.
The two sit down, open the tub and just straight up scoop the ice cream out with their hands. Which eventually, devolves into her smacking ice cream into his hair and him pushing her entire head into the now heavily melted liquidy ice cream.
Danny shoves his entire hands in his mouth via body manipulation to lick them clean of the sticky mess. Dani laughs at the absurdity of it and then licks the entirety of his hair, getting the ice cream off of it. “Oh you wanna play that game?”, Dani makes a horrified face as Danny straight up sticks his mouth over her entire head licking her clean. “Oh my god ew! I’m so doing that to the next creepy ghost who insults my size!”, Danny can’t help but fall over laughing, “you damn well better! Make them regret ever bugging you!”. Danny then stops and grins evilly, “hey I wonder what the Box Ghosts is up to”. Upon hearing this Dani grins wide and shoots off into the sky, Danny following lazily behind.
They really don’t have to look long before discovering him, “you really do always manage to find your way into Amity don’t you?”, Danny chuckles. “BEWARE PHANTOM! AND MINI PHANTOM! FOR-”, the Box Ghosts speach gets promptly cut off by Dani pulling the same shit on him that Danny pulled on her; while Danny spins around laughing. With only one eye open and still clutching his stomach with one hand, he pops the thermos open and sucks in a completely started and slightly terrified looking Box Ghost. High-fiving Dani, the siblings/cousins float up through the ceiling.
“That was freaking great, maybe for one April fools I’ll fight every enemy that way?”, Danny genuinely ponders doing this, earning more laughs from Dani.
“So what the hell are you to up to? It’s hardly ghost hour?”, Valerie comes in on her board. Dani immediately zooms up to her, “celebrating by screwing around”, jabbing her thumb over her shoulder at Danny, “this oversized idiot is an adult now”. Valerie blinks and turns to Danny, “you weren’t already an adult? Ghost grow up?”. Danny laughs and flicks his ghostly tail around a bit, “no I wasn’t, means I’m done changing. How you see me now is how I’ll always be”. Valerie chuckles but removes her helmet, “well good for you then. This mean you won’t be getting any stronger?”. Danny shrugs, “my physical form is done, as for power levels, who knows”. Valerie shakes her head rather hoping he doesn’t get stronger, “well I guess happy birthday or whatever, Phantom. Don’t cause too much trouble”. Valerie claps him on the shoulder before taking her leave. Danny can’t help but grin as Dani chuckles.
The two fly out of the building and opt to float around one of the trail paths, ectoblasting any leaves that fall down. Weaving in and out of trees, they also scare the crap out of unsuspecting animals and bugs.
Danny scoops Dani up onto his arm and flex’s his peck causing Dani to spring up into the air. Dani, forgetting she can float, clambers to grab Danny’s head while he laughs his ass off. “You are to damn strong for your own good!”, Dani indignantly cries. She wraps her legs around his neck and crosses her arms over top of his head as he floats lazily down the path. “Hey now, if I’m strong then that means you are too. Stunted genetics be damned”, Dani rolls her eyes at him but flexes herself anyways before settling her arms back on his head. Chuckling, “you’re the world’s strongest 3 year old”.
It doesn’t take much longer for more regular humans to be out and about, but neither really feel like giving up the ghost just yet. “I know you've got class in, like, two hours but want to go fling ourselves into the freezing ass beach?”, Dani has taken to laying on her stomach on his head, her face nearly blocking his eyes completely. “Don’t you know it, and since it’s still chilly no one will really be there. And it’s not like I’m going to complain about the cold”, Dani pokes him on the forehead with her tongue before talking. “Well aren’t you Mr. Freeze”.
“And you’re a freezie”
The two do indeed fling themselves into the water a bunch and get properly drenched in the ice water. But before too long, “Well I actually have class to attend to, even if it’s useless for me and even if there’s no way I’ll be there the whole time”. Dani throws some more water in his face, “yeah the ghosties don’t exactly care about your school and you really don’t either”. Danny shrugs, “true but I have to have it, apparently”. Dani floats up into the air and as she’s waving goodbye she mutters, “well that’s stupid”. After Danny changes behind a tree and starts his walk to school, he can’t help but mutter “ain’t that the truth”.
He’s met by a confusing sight once he does get to school though. Everyone is running around excitedly shoving their phones in each other’s faces and Paulina is crying? “What the fuck?”, he whispers to Tucker as he comes running up. Instantly Danny is pulled into the craziness as Tucker shoves his phone in Danny’s face. Seeing the picture on screen, “Oh come on! I can’t even goof off for one freaking morning?”. Sam comes up and slugs him on the shoulder, “no it would seem you can’t”. Then Tucker snickers and scrolls through a few pages, “so you have a kid now huh?”. Danny glares at Tucker and sees him show a photo taken at the exact moment he got decked in the head by a frisbee, “you know I don’t you shit and she can throw pretty hard for her size”.
“Danny, she practically is. I know y’all go with cousin most of the time but technically”, Sam stops because she’s snickering too hard at Danny’s overacted exasperated groaning. Tucker snickers too, “we should have a belated baby shower”. Danny actually smacks Tucker over the head, “you will die, painfully”. Then both Tucker and Danny see a new one that’s edited, “oh dear god, how the hell did someone even get that shot without it being blurry to hell”. Sam looks over and sees the offending photo. It’s perfectly timed for when Danny flexed to bounce Dani and it’s edited with the word “stud daddy” and hearts. One response is the “heart eyes mother fucker” gif. Sam can barely contain her laughter. “You both are just awful”.
Once in class Danny overhears exactly what Paulina was crying about, “if he has a kid he must have a girl too! But what about me!”
“Girl, you're better than whoever, maybe they’re not even together”
“We haven’t even seen him be all lovey with any lady so”
“Hell, how do ghost even have kids”
“Maybe they, like, duplicate or do it asexually”
“Well regardless, it is pretty cute he has a little girl”
Danny rubs his temples, “oh dear god this is going to be a long day”.
End.
Another prompt for @currently-lurking‘s phic phight! This is another one for @deredereart.
Sam is not a morning person. Danny and Tucker find out the hard way.
Rated T for language
Word count: 1769
“I still don’t know about this. Sam stays up late, she doesn’t get up early except for school,” Danny said apprehensively as he walked side by side with Tucker to the Manson mansion.
“Nah dude, she’ll be excited! The Trinity of Doom 2 trailer looks so awesome, even we’re excited about it. She’ll love it!” Tucker excitedly walked to the front door, pulling the new movie trailer up on his phone again. “I’ve watched it like 6 times already. Plus, what’s the worst that could happen? She’s mad at us for 5 seconds until she sees the trailer? I’ll take that bet.”
“Alright, Tuck. If you say so.” Danny knocked on the door and was greeted by Mrs. Manson.
“Oh, it’s you two. Samantha is still sleeping up in her room, but you’re welcome to go up there and wake her. You might have better luck than me.” She stepped aside to let the boys through.
“Thanks Mrs. Manson!” Danny called back. He was still trying to get on her good side.
Tucker and Danny climbed the stairs and made their way to Sam’s room. “It’s locked.” Tucker tried juggling the door knob again with no luck.
“No problem.” Danny looked around before turning Tucker and himself intangible and stepping through the door.
Sam was laying on her side, her arms curled up under her pillow. Danny quietly walked forward and looked down at her.
It’s not that Sam never had moments where she looked so peaceful and happy, they were just few and far between. Sleeping was the only time she ever let her guard down.
Danny tilted his head to the side and continued staring. “You absolutely sure about this, Tuck?”
“Yeah. Plus the sooner she’s awake, the sooner we can go do something. I’m starving.” Tucker nudged his friend forward more.
Danny moved his face closer to hers. “Sam?” She didn’t budge.
“Like whispering is going to do anything.” Tucker snorted.
Danny rolled his eyes and tried again, louder than before. “Saaaaammm...wake up, Sam.”
Sam groaned and stirred a little bit, but remained fast asleep. Danny rested his hand on her bed next to her, leaning all of his weight onto his arm.
Danny was getting a little frustrated now. He was supposed to be the heavy sleeper. He looked back at Tucker, who silently started counting on his fingers. On ‘three’, Danny and Tucker both yelled her name.
With that, Sam’s eyes shot open and she had swung her leg out, captured Danny with it, and flipped him over so he was on his back on her bed. She was straddling him with her knees pinning his arms down, a butterfly knife being held towards his neck.
Danny’s eyes practically popped out of his head as he stared up at her in disbelief. Tucker was equally as stunned, though probably slightly less afraid as he didn’t have a blade pointing at his neck.
It took Sam a few seconds to register that her ‘attacker’ was just Danny, and she leaned back a little, though still on top of him, and pulled the knife back.
“Oh. It’s just you.”
“Yeah. Just me. Jesus, Sam!” Danny was still a little petrified.
“What the fuck? Why do you sleep with a knife?!” Tucker stared at her incredulously.
“For intruders. You can never be too careful. Though most don’t make it past the locked door.” She flipped the knife eloquently in her hand as she rolled off of Danny, who sat up next to her.
“That’s dumb. What if it was a ghost intruder? A knife wouldn’t do anything,” Danny stated matter of factly.
“That’s what this is for.” Sam’s free hand dug under her pillow and pulled out the Fenton Wrist Ray.
“Don’t point that thing at me!” Danny shouted and smacked her hand away.
“Yeah, you could have killed us!” Tucker whined.
“Oh, would you relax? You’re not dead.” She paused and looked at Danny. “Well, you’re half dead.”
“Thanks for the reminder.” Danny chortled back.
“What the fuck are you guys fucking doing here at….” Sam looked over at her alarm clock, “fucking 8 o’clock on a fucking Saturday morning.” She narrowed her eyes at them, irritated.
Tucker frowned, beginning to back track on his idea to wake her up. “Uh, well.” He pulled up the movie trailer on his phone again, now becoming more confident in his original thought that she would be just as excited as he and Danny were about the movie. “The Trinity of Doom 2 trailer came out and it looks awesome! Danny and I actually want to see this one!”
Danny grinned as Tucker bounced up and down a little, looking at his phone. Sam, meanwhile, had her eyes closed with a very annoyed look on her face. Danny’s smile faltered as he looked over at her; he was expecting her excitement, afterall. Instead, he could imagine cartoon smoke coming out of her ears, she was so mad. He gulped and looked at Tucker as Sam opened her mouth.
“That’s why. You fucking woke me up. Early. On a SATURDAY?!??” She growled and Tucker stumbled backwards a little bit. Danny bit his lip.
“Uh, yeah. Well...we thought you’d...I dunno, want to see it right away?” Tucker fumbled his words out.
“Yeah, I mean we know it’s your favorite,” Danny tried.
“I know, and it is. But I saw that trailer a week ago. I’m part of the movie’s message board of insider secrets. Something I assumed you knew, Mr. Hacker.” She glared at Tucker, grabbed his phone, and chucked it across the room. Tucker and Danny both winced as it hit the wall, fortunately not hard enough to damage Tucker’s phone, though there was a small dent in her wall.
“Hey!!” Tucker yelled and ran across the room to grab his phone. After he examined it and realized his faithful technology didn’t let him down and held strong against Sam’s wrath, he spoke up again. “Okay, can you put the weapons away and play nice already!? You’re really starting to scare me.” Tucker looked at her hand, which was still gripping her butterfly knife rather dangerously, the Fenton Wrist Ray sitting adjacently on her lap.
“What, this?” She questioned innocently as she twirled her knife around again. Danny was half expecting her to take one of her fingers off.
“Yes, that!” Tucker objected.
“And that too.” Danny pointed at the Fenton Wrist Ray.
Sam rolled her eyes and muttered something about them being babies as she put the weapons in her night stand drawer. “Whatever. See you in 5 hours.” She rolled over, her back to Tucker, and closed her eyes again. Danny watched her and looked up at Tucker.
“Well, we were kinda hoping you’d be ready to hang after this.” Danny rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
“I said, I’ll fucking see you in 5 hours.” She grumbled and kept her eyes shut.
Danny threw his hands up defensively and got off her bed, grabbing Tucker’s hand and heading for the door. “We need to get her a coffee or her favorite vegan cookie or something when we see her later.” He muttered under his breath.
“No way, I’m not giving that psychopath anything! I’m pretty sure she has murderous tendencies!” Danny rolled his eyes at Tucker as he shoved him towards the door. Both boys froze, eyes widened, when Sam’s knife lodged itself into the wall right next to their faces.
“Shut. The fuck. Up.” Sam rolled over again and pulled the covers over her head.
Danny slapped his hand over Tucker’s mouth as he tried to retaliate. “Sorry, Sam. Sweet dreams.” Danny rushed out of the room and shut the door behind them. “How is it that whenever you get an idea to do something, I’m the one who nearly gets killed?”
“How was I supposed to know she’d react like that?” Tucker sped down the stairs and out the front door. “She definitely never used to pull that shit at our sleepovers!”
“That was also before we had ghosts coming after us 24/7.” Danny shrugged and looked back at the front door. “Plus, she has always said she was a creature of the night. I just never would have thought...I mean, if I get hurt fighting Skulker at night or something and tap on her window and wake her up, she doesn’t look that pissed. She just motions me in and stitches me up.” Danny frowned. She had never said he shouldn’t wake her up. In fact, she encouraged it if he felt he was in trouble.
Tucker looked at Danny and frowned as well. “Guess we shouldn’t have surprised her then. My bad.”
Danny glanced upwards towards her bedroom window. “I hope she’s okay.”
“Yeah, it’s probably a good idea for you to go check on her. I don’t want her on a rampage later when she’s fully awake. Plus you can always go intangible if she throws something at you. I’m not risking my technology again.” He motioned up towards her bedroom window.
Danny nodded and checked his surroundings before transforming into Phantom, turning invisible, and flying up to her window. He peeked inside and saw Sam lounging comfortably on her bed, cup of coffee in hand, and watching the movie trailer on her phone. Danny looked at her gobsmacked.
She looked up at him as he gently tapped on her window. She smiled innocently and gave him a little wave.
“Okay, what the fuck?” Danny entered her room once again and transformed back into Fenton.
Sam smirked as she continued to watch the movie trailer on her phone. “Well, when I threw Tucker’s phone against the wall, my butler heard and brought me coffee. Plus this trailer is really metal, I’ll get us tickets later.”
Danny couldn’t believe her sudden change in mood. “I...but you…and the…” He glanced at the knife still lodged in her wall. “Huh?” He looked at her confused.
Sam laughed. “I mean I’m awake now. That first part was genuine, though. Sorry about that. I could kinda see the rest of your half-life flash before your eyes.” She smiled amusingly.
“What the fuck, Sam?!”
She shrugged. “I have an image to uphold.”
“So, you’re alright then? You’re not pissed at us?”
“Initially I was. But I have coffee now. Plus scaring the shit out of you guys was well worth it.” She took another swig of her coffee.
