What I loved about StarBharat
Yup, after relentlessly bashing my fav show, I have finally decided to show a part where I actually praise it. Yay~~~
The aesthetics. The palace and over all aesthetics were on fiyaahh. I may not be a fan of the costumes, but well, they have done pretty well for a TV show. TV shows cannot spend that much on costumes as compared to films.
Music. The BGMs were really good, as well as the Sanskrit shlokas for the characters. C'mon guys we were all jamming to the multiple Arjun themes for sure
The bond b/w the Pandavas. It was so sweet, and how they showed the Pandavas be a team, a family, together in everything, and well, being brotherly in general.
Yudhishthira. Canon Yudhishthira isn't exactly a saint, but the one in this show, is actually competent. He seems conflicted, done with this shit, wondering how much low can someone sink than this, and well, he also knows how to kick some ass, so yup. Approved!
The portions of stories really explained , like the twins getting screentime. They have individual talents, which separate them not only as the twin duo, but as Nakul and Sahadeva, two individuals.
Also Nakul fangirling over himself hehe
Krishna---he may be irritating at times, but SRJ has managed to capture the serious, tragic, godly, loving and naughty Krishna completely. And yeah, didn't Krishna just LOVEE to irritate half of the world- *cue Yada Yada*
Arjun. My boi is so sweet and gentle, and well, the way he speaks is so soft and pretty oMg
#ParAv till death folks
Bhimasena. No words.
The bromance triangle of Dury, Karna and Ashwa.
Karna is a git in canon, but StarB's Karna gives me meme vibes, LOL
MAMASHREE
All the Kuru bois having beautiful, shiny, lustrous hair, irrespective of their generation. YAAS, they inherited this from granddaddy.
the tilaks, crescent moon with personalized designs for the Kurus, fire for the Panchals, blue for the Matsyas, the Vaishnava tilak for Krishna and snake for Balarama.
oh Boi how much potential did these love stories have
BHIMAAAAA (again, yes.)
The attractive trash-talking done by Arjun and Bhima, as well as their sons
oh my gawd the Kauravas are such memes it is making me laugh
Balarama's irritated expression at everything Krishna does
RUKUUUUUUUUU
Abhimanyu being iconic~~~~~~~
Draupadi's eye makeup>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Tbh they tried to make us ship ArDi, but ik we all ended up liking Yudhishthira x Draupadi after seeing this show-
Subhadra's pretty hairstyles
Uttara my bby
Kunti and Gandhari and Madri
Brihannala *heart heart*
Sexy Pandavas while killing Mamashree
"DURYODHAANNAAAAAA!!!!!" *guess who?*
"Dhanush Uthao Arjun"
Arjun being confused
"BHIMAAAAAAA!!!!" in response to "DURYODHANAAAAA"
Arjun flying into a rage after Abhimanyu's death and kicking some ass
Duryodhan getting his ass kicked by Abhimanyu in the same way Arjun did 25-30 years ago #nogrowth
"Mitra Karna~~~" #nohomo
Subhadra being a dumb cutie uwu
Uttara, if only u had some screentime
GURU DRONA
Krishna again
Bhima eating his way through life makes me aspire to be like him
the Pandavas joking with each other <333333333333333

HOW MANY VISHNU AVATARS ARE THERE?
Tumblr media
Reading time- 5 mins
In Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu, the preserver, and sustainer of the universe, is believed to have taken various avatars (incarnations) throughout history. These avatars serve a divine purpose, restoring balance and righteousness in the world. Let's explore the fascinating stories behind the ten most significant avatars of Lord Vishnu.
1.     Matsya Avatar (The Fish Incarnation):
As Matsya, Lord Vishnu appeared as a giant fish to save humanity from a catastrophic flood. He guided the sage Manu's boat to safety and preserved life during the deluge, symbolizing protection and preservation.
2.     Kurma Avatar (The Tortoise Incarnation):
In this avatar, Vishnu assumed the form of a giant tortoise to support the mythical Mount Mandara during the churning of the cosmic ocean. The Kurma avatar represents stability and patience.
 3.     Varaha Avatar (The Boar Incarnation):
As a boar, Vishnu rescued the earth goddess, Bhudevi, by lifting her out of the primordial ocean. Symbolizing strength and protection, the Varaha avatar restored order and ensured the continuity of life on Earth.
4.     Narasimha Avatar (The Lion-Man Incarnation):
Lord Vishnu took the form of Narasimha, a half-lion, half-man being, to protect his devotee Prahlada from the demon king Hiranyakashyap. Narasimha is considered a symbol of divine wrath against evil forces.
5.     Vamana Avatar (The Dwarf Incarnation):
In the Vamana avatar, Lord Vishnu appeared as a dwarf Brahmin to restore balance by curbing the arrogance of the demon king Bali. Through humility and righteousness, Vamana regained control over the three worlds.
6.     Parashurama Avatar (The Axe-Wielding Incarnation):
Parashurama, an embodiment of Lord Vishnu, manifested as a warrior sage wielding a mighty axe. He eradicated the corrupt and tyrannical Kshatriya rulers to restore justice and righteousness.
7.     Rama Avatar (The Ideal King Incarnation):
The epic tale of Ramayana narrates the life of Lord Rama, an exemplary ruler, and embodiment of righteousness. As Rama, Lord Vishnu defeated the demon king Ravana and showcased the ideals of dharma (righteousness) and devotion.
8.     Krishna Avatar (The Divine Flute Player Incarnation):
The charismatic Krishna, a beloved deity in Hindu mythology, embodied love, compassion, and divine wisdom. As the central character of the Mahabharata, Krishna guided Arjuna on the path of righteousness in the Bhagavad Gita.
9.     Balarama Avatar (The Elder Brother Incarnation):
Balarama, the elder brother of Krishna, represents strength and loyalty. He supported Krishna in his divine mission and was revered as a symbol of agricultural prosperity and power.
10. Kalki Avatar (The Future Incarnation):
The Kalki avatar is yet to come, as Lord Vishnu's final incarnation. It is believed that Kalki will appear at the end of the Kali Yuga (the current age of darkness and moral decline), riding a white horse, to restore righteousness and initiate a new golden age.
The avatars of Lord Vishnu are not merely mythical tales but carry profound symbolism and teachings. Each avatar reflects a divine purpose, illustrating various aspects of Lord Vishnu's role as the preserver and the protector of the universe. The stories of these avatars continue to inspire millions, imparting valuable lessons about righteousness, devotion, and the triumph of good over evil.

Here are my headcanons about Bharata and Mandavi's marriage (copied and pasted from my last-night Discord dump):
So Rama & Lakshmana go to Mithila, Rama wins Sita in the swayamvara (and she chooses him too if you take her lifting the shiv dhanush as canon) and although there's nothing to support it, I hc that Lakshmana and Urmila married out of having siimlar fiery tempers and both adoring their elder sibling
So Rama/Sita and Lakshmana/Urmila happen out of love. By contrast, BHarata/Mandavi and Shatrughan/Shrutakirti have their marriages arranged bc it's convenient to have Ayodhya's 4 princes marry Mithila's 4 princesses.
I don't think Bharata/Mandavi had a bad relationship by any means, simply that their marriage didn't begin with a soul-deep connection the way R/S did, or with a spark the way L/U did.
THeir marriage was one of convenience (at first).
Now in order to fully appreciate my hcs, I need to talk about BHarata's family tree. Some versions have a backstory that Aswapati, Kaikeyi's father, had the ability to talk to animals but per a curse, could not reveal this knowledge to anyone else on pain of death. One day, Kaikeyi's mother heard him talking to some swans/birds and wanted to know what he was saying. Tl;dr she wouldn't back down and he banished her that day
Aswapati and his wife had 8 kids together (7 boys + Kaikeyi) yet she demanded to know a secret that would be his death & he exiled her.
WHich led to Manthara, her wet nanny, becoming Kaikeyi's mother figure. Kaikeyi grew up to be a warrior and saved Dasharatha's life in battle by acting as his charioteer. Yet when she gets married, she has to put all that aside and she's expected to produce a child (which she fails to do first). She's his favorite wife, but at the expense of her individuality & martial skills. And her childhood trauma leaves her terrified of losing his favor/place. The only leverage she has over him is those two boons. In my headcanon, Dasharatha and Kaikeyi loved each other fiercely, but they never communicated their fears/expectations, which led to Kaikeyi's panic on day. She once saved his life in battle, yet she ended up demanding an unspeakable oath from him, and he died loathing and cursing her.
Then there's Rama/Sita. They loved each other enough to go into exile and fight wars for each other, yet he put her through one (almost two) Agni Parikshas, exiled her while pregnant, and ultimately drove her to commit bhumipravesh.
So Bharata comes from a long line of marriages that were based in love but did not work out.
(I also hc Lakshmana/Urmila undergoing a very rough patch after he helps exiles Sita without telling anyone.)
In contrast, there's Bharata and mandavi. A lot of versions have him living at Nandigram while she wastes away in the palace, which... . It makes no sense for her to be alone in the palace just a few miles away, especially when Bharata wants to emulate Rama, who took his wife with him. So I hc that they went to Nandigram together, and there, when they had lost almost their entire family and had the burden of a kingdom suddenly thrust on their shoulders, they had no choice but to lean on each other, and in doing so, their marriage became one of true respect, companionship, and love.
THere's no real canonical support for like 80% of this, but I just love the idea that out of all the marriages that didn't work out in Rmy, here's one that was arranged, but ended up stronger than many of the others.
And because I wanted someone to end up happy.
I also hc that post-Uttarakanda, this is especially important, because Bharata has some complicated thoughts about Rama's decisions, and his marriage to Mandavi has to be especially strong to weather them. (Shameless self-promotion of the fic I wrote exploring this: https://archiveofourown.org/works/26334817)

I can't remember anything about the movie. That's the sad thing. /
Seriously. It was very dull and lacklustre, which was surprising because they had some very charismatic performers, such as Gosling and Dhanush. Russos sucked the life of them too. 😬
It's wild because the Russos are doing better with other projects. Welp. You can't win them all.

Chris is doing a Q and A on the 10th with the cast of TGM in LA. Looks like a live event. Most of the fandom is so obsessed with THAT crap, that nobody seems to care about his work anymore. So over those leeches.
https://twitter.com/colliderfrosty/status/1542640608455495680?t=LL8uHL82B_hCnghjf2HUdw&s=19
Sorry, but i doubt it. Fans obsessed with dating rumors are a small amount, and the number of psyschos obsessed with it and that would dare to ask about it is even smaller. I don't think we'll be getting any questions about Chris and his love life.
First of all, there's a movie to promote. So questions will most likely focus on their dynamics and on set stories (Chris for sure will bring up the gun story as soon as he's able to). And second of all, Chris isn't the only one doing the Q&A, a lot of people from the cast will be there, too. So I think it's safe to say it'll stay related to the movie and their projects.

Embracing Love: Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's Stand Against Cyberbullying
The year 2024 has unfolded as a remarkable chapter for Tamil actor Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. Amidst the triumph of her blockbuster release, Hanu-Man, her personal life witnessed a significant milestone with her engagement to Mumbai-based gallerist Nicholai Sachdev in March. However, amidst the celebration of their love, they’ve also faced a barrage of cyberbullying, primarily targeting Nicholai’s appearance and past marriage.
Tumblr media
Varalaxmi, renowned for her fearless demeanor, recently addressed these negative comments head-on, affirming that they hold no power over their relationship. In a candid interview with Galatta Tamil, as reported by India Today, she dismissed the critics with a poignant declaration, “Even my father married twice; there’s nothing wrong with it as long as he’s happy. I’ve seen how people talk about Nick; he’s handsome in my eyes. I don’t care about people who make negative comments about our relationship. Why should I answer to anyone? From the very beginning, I have avoided doing that.”
The actor, daughter of veteran Tamil actor Sarathkumar and his first wife Chaya, further emphasized the significance of maintaining positivity even amidst separation. Reflecting on Nicholai’s former marriage, she remarked, “If two people are unable to remain together, it’s better they part ways. Why keep being unhappy? Though you guys couldn’t remain together, you can still maintain a cordial relationship. I have met his (Nicholai) ex-wife; she is an amazing person. His daughter is also a beautiful person.”
Describing Nicholai as the embodiment of her ideal partner, Varalaxmi illuminated their bond with warmth and sincerity. “He makes me laugh, supports my career, and always puts me first. He’s extremely loving, pampering, and fiercely protective of me and his family. We share a love for food; he even completes my sentences. We met 14 years ago, and instantly, there was something, but we didn’t date then. We stayed in touch as friends, and it’s only recently that love blossomed.”
In a world consumed by the frenzy of social media, Varalaxmi revealed Nicholai’s preference for privacy, devoid of any digital footprint. This intentional detachment from the virtual realm speaks volumes about their focus on genuine connection over superficial validation.
As Varalaxmi prepares for the release of the action thriller Raayan, helmed by Dhanush, she stands as a beacon of resilience against cyberbullying, championing love, acceptance, and the unwavering pursuit of happiness.

CUTTING OFF EVERYONE..
DHANUSH was sitting on the general ward's bed after his wounds were bandaged well. He participated in the college boxing match where the winner will get to participate in the state boxing match representing the college. DHANUSH defeated his step brother KABIR and has been admitted here after the match because of the intense fight in the ring. His step father SAMEER comes to visit him in the hospital with a bouquet. He places that on the table beside, sits on the bed where DHANUSH was relaxing, tapping his cheeks and smiling sarcastically says,
SAMEER: WELL DONE DHANUSH! I AM VERY HAPPY FOR YOU.
He feels really happy that his biological father is talking to him and is really happy and proud about his win because before this SAMEER always denied his link with DHANUSH. After a while, SAMEER suddenly changing his expression to an upset one says,
SAMEER: BUT MY SON LOST! HE LOST BECAUSE YOU WON.
DHANUSH looks at him confused when SAMEER further says,
SAMEER: YOU KNOW WHAT DHANUSH! YOU ARE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. THAT NIGHT WITH YOUR MOM, IN MY HOSTEL ROOM IS MY BIGGEST REGRET I HAVE TILL DATE. ME AND YOUR MOM HAD A FLING, SHE COULD HAVE ABORTED YOU EASILY BUT SHE WAS IN SOMUCH LOVE WITH ME THAT SHE WANTED ME FOR LIFE SO SHE MADE YOU THE BAIT, JUST A BAIT TO HAVE ME BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. YOU ARE NOT MY BLOOD, YOU ARE JUST A BLOODY MISTAKE.
SAMEER stands up, buttons his coat and says,
SAMEER: FOR YOUR DEAD MOTHER YOU ARE MAKING MY WHOLE FAMILY SUFFER EVERY DAY. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOURS AND HER VICTORY, YOU BROKE MY FAMILY SUCCESSFULLY, KABIR LEFT THE HOUSE AFTER KNOWING THIS.
He leaves after saying that when DHANUSH who only wanted his father to talk to him and appreciate him starts dropping tears after hearing his identity being questioned by his own father. He thinking that he is the reason behind breaking a happy family keeps repeating SAMEER'S words saying,
DHANUSH: I AM A MISTAKE! HE IS RIGHT. I BROKE A HAPPY FAMILY, IT'S ALL MY FAULT.
PRACHI, his girlfriend who came to meet him after hearing their whole conversation, walks in looking at him doubting himself, sits beside him, holds his hands and says,
PRACHI: NO NO DHANUSH! YOU ARE NOT A MISTAKE, YOU ARE A WINNER MAN!
He nodding side by side, saying a 'NO' says,
DHANUSH: I JUST FUCKING LOST IN LIFE.
She holding his cheeks, trying to calm him down days,
PRACHI: NO ARE YOU MAD? YOU HAVE GOT SELECTED FOR THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP DUDE. YOUR MOM'S DREAM WAS TO SEE YOU IN THAT BOXING RING, IT WAS HER LAST WISH THAT YOU PURSUE YOUR DREAM AND WIN NATIONALS REMEMBER?
He with tears says,
DHANUSH: THE COST OF MY DREAM IS PAID BY A FAMILY TODAY. THAT'S NOT RIGHT! MOM WILL NOT LIKE ME TO DO THAT, NEVER!
PRACHI: YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO THEM. STOP TAKING YOUR DAD'S BLAME ON YOU. HE HID HIS AND YOUR MOM'S BOND FROM HIS FAMILY, HOW THE FUCK IS THAT YOUR MISTAKE?
He moving away from her, removes his saline and walking away says,
DHANUSH: DON'T BE AROUND ME! EVEN YOU WILL DIE. I CAN'T TAKE MORE BLAMES ON MY HEAD PRACHI. I AM LEAVING!
She walks behind him, stops him and says,
PRACHI: WHAT IS HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? YOU NEED THE SALINE, SIT BACK NOW!
DHANUSH: I DON'T NEED ANYTHING!
She stops him by coming infront of him when he pining her to the wall, holds her hands tight, kisses her and says,
DHANUSH: YOU DON'T NEED TO BE WITH ME AND SYMPATHIZE FOR ME. I WAS LIVING AND CAN LIVE ALONE.
She with a question mark face says,
PRACHI: WHAT! YOU THINK THIS IS SYMPATHY? CAN'T YOU SEE THAT I REALLY CARE FOR YOU.
She removing her hands off his, wiping his tears, holding his cheeks says,
PRACHI: STOP BLAMING YOURSELF FOR EVERYTHING! LIFE DOESN'T REVOLVE ONLY AROUND YOU. GOOD BYE DHANUSH!
She pushing him away to make space for herself to walk leaves the hospital and his life forever wiping her tears.
MORAL: LEAVE THAT PLACE AND PERSON WHERE YOU ARE NOT VALUED AT ALL. SELF IMPORTANCE IS KEY!

Hip Hop in India: From Bhangra Beats to Bolly-Grooves
India, the land of ancient rhythms and swirling dervishes, has embraced a new beat – the pulsating energy of hip-hop. No longer confined to American streets, hip-hop has found fertile ground in the desi landscape, evolving into a vibrant fusion that's as unique as a chai-spiked latte. So, step onto this concrete jungle and get ready to break down the misconceptions about hip-hop in India.
Gone are the days of baggy pants and boom boxes. Indian hip-hop has shed its stereotypical skin, morphing into a kaleidoscope of styles. Bhangra beats infuse head-banging headspins, Bollywood melodies underpin popping and locking, and traditional folk movements find new life in intricate footwork. This cross-pollination of cultures creates a genre that's both familiar and fresh, resonating with the Indian experience while pushing the boundaries of artistic expression.
Breaking Barriers, Building Communities:
Hip-hop in India is more than just dance moves; it's a cultural rebellion. In a land steeped in tradition, it offers a platform for self-expression, a voice for the underrepresented. Note
32 & 13 for all three, 9 & 10 for chimni, 33 and 34 for kamal, 4 and 5 for dhanush
32: done!
13. What languages do they speak?
I think the answer to this might be a bit complicated. There's a common language throughout the land of Navaka, but it widely differs in dialect and has different scripts (in addition to geographically stuck native languages). All three characters can speak the common tongue (no name yet) as well as their native tongue, and Kamal and Dhanush are literate in their native tongues. I'd also add that chimni has a very strong accent/his dialect kinda slips through while speaking common.
9. Food preferences, dietary restrictions, are they picky?
I haven't decided if I want to keep this or not, but in my head Chimni is a vegetarian (whether or not she stays one by the end of the story I haven't thought of yet, but basically in her culture food is rooted in agriculture and so meat isn't much of a staple, only the rich enjoy it and it's kinda frowned upon.) Favourite dish.... I haven't thought much about the culinary aspect of the world but since Chimni's from an area heavily based off of my culture, I would probably say something akin to pithla bhakri which is kinda like a cooked lentil porridge (???) with a millet flour flatbread. as well as a spicy thecha (kinda like chutney) on the side. farmer's staple!
10. Jewellery?
The only pieces of jewellery they wear are an anklet made of bronze and bits of blue agate, and a pendant they keep in their pocket that belonged to their mother (important to plot!!)
33 and 34: done for everyone!
4. How crafty/resourceful is this character?
Being born into royalty and having lived in comforts for basically his whole life, Dhanush isn't very good at surviving in the real world. He has useful skills (calligraphy, archery, swordsmanship, some instruments) but this basically does nothing for you living in the wild or as a "common" person. He's nifty though, he'll learn quick.
