It's a mostly Marshall morning here in Noodling Nook No. One. The 355 is a nod to the #GibSunday traditionalists... 😉
1972 #Gibson#ES355 TDSV in Walnut 1970 #Marshall#Model2022. This amp was from a series of 20 watt amps in the late 60s/early 70s which included the 2022 (the "Lead 20"), model 2019 (the "Bass 20") and model 2061 (the "Lead & Bass 20". They reissued this one as the "2061x" not that long ago)
PS: those of you who know I never use pedals (except for an EHX holy grail nano for reverb on my non-reverb amps) will be (?) interested to see I am plugged into a #Boss#FDR1 pedal today. Yep...I finally got tired of playing "clean" after about 3 years and decided to add some overdrive! Interestingly, the reverb on this pedal really does sound like an actual vintage Deluxe Reverb tank. And by that I mean it is rather harsh, tinny, and full of popping/pinging sounds. This is why I don't like using this one as a reverb pedal lol! 🤣

5 Best Reverb Pedals
When looking for the best reverb pedal to add to your setup, you need to keep a few things in mind. Price, Quality and Budget can all play a big factor in your decision. Check out below for a table that we’ve constructed which lists some of the best reviewed and proven reverb pedals available on the market.
Best Reverb Guitar Pedals: http://reverbguitaramps.com/best-reverb-pedal-for-the-money/
Tumblr media
1) TC Electronic Hall Of Fame
Tumblr media
The TC Electronics TonePrint Hall of Fame packs all the reverb options you could possibly want into one small, sturdy pedal. From slightly sweetened tone to huge, stadium-like echoes, you can find the setting you want in its myriad of in-pedal options or the TonePrints available online. With the plethora of options available at its price, this is one of the best reverb pedals on the market.
2) Boss FRV-1 ’63 Fender Reverb
Tumblr media
The Boss FRV–1 ’63 Fender Reverb pedal (that’s a mouthful, so we’ll call it the FRV-1 from here on) is a solidly constructed digital model of the spring reverb found in old Fender amps. To get one of the actual spring reverb tanks from those amps, you’d have to pay a lot of money. The FRV-1 lets you recreate that sound at a fraction of the cost
3) EHX Cathedral Stereo Reverb
Tumblr media
The Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb pedal gives you all the options you could want to find that perfect reverberated sound. With eight different reverb settings, customizations for each setting, and even a preset-loading function, you can bet that you’ll be able to dial in the reverb that fits your guitar playing to a tee.
4) Wampler Faux Spring Reverb Pedal
Tumblr media
The Wampler Faux Spring Reverb Pedal is a straightforward effects pedal that does exactly what it says in the name: it emulates a spring reverb effect. Many older amps (and some newer ones) had spring reverb tanks built into them to help soften and sweeten the incoming signal from the guitar. These days, though, you’d be hard-pressed to find an amp with a true spring reverb tank; most of the amps with “reverb” settings on them are emulations, not true reverb. If your amp doesn’t have a reverb setting on it, then the Wampler Faux Spring Reverb is worth a look.
5) Digitech Reverb Guitar Effects pedal
The Digitech RV-7 Hardwire Stereo Reverb pedal is a pretty decent digital reverb pedal. For its compact size, it has a good selection of effects that work well in conjunction with other effects so as not to muddy your tone.
Tumblr media
What is a Reverb Pedal?
Reverb (short for “reverberation”) is, at its essence, a multiple-variation short-term delay effect. It comes from the natural echoes experienced from sound reflecting off surfaces; you hear the original signal first, then all the little echoes of that signal that bounced off various surfaces in a given area. Think of how your voice sounds outside, then imagine what it sounds like inside an auditorium or a castle. That change in your ears’ perception of your voice is the cause of a natural reverberation effect.
Reverb is more than just a simple, straightforward echo. The surface a sound reflects off has an effect on the bounced sound wave, too. Many reverb effects in studios use different surfaces, rooms, and boxes to achieve different types of reverb. Reverb pedals like “hall” and “echo” are designed to emulate large rooms. That’s why you’ll see pedals with names like “Cathedral” and “Holy Grail” – large church buildings and ancient structures make for very distinct reverb effects. “Plate” and “spring” pedals, however, are modeled after a type of effect which utilizes metal pieces inside a box to create a distinct metallic reverberation. You can even find spring reverb tanks built into many tube amps.
Digital and Analog
Most reverb pedals are digital models of the real thing; it’s hard to find enough space on a pedalboard to fit an entire reverb tank, and they aren’t exactly the most portable equipment to handle. For true analog reverb, a studio or an amp with a built-in tank is the easiest route. That being said, it isn’t impossible to find a good analog reverb pedal. The technology today also makes most digital reverb pedals nearly identical to their analog counterparts. Digital reverbs also have the added bonus of combining multiple effects in a smaller box, allowing guitarists (and vocalists) to achieve some beautiful sweetness without locking themselves in a tiled room.

I want to buy 3 more pedals. But they are all reverb pedals. Why do I love reverb pedals so much?
Wants
•death by audio- echo dream 2
•death by audio- rooms (but there is very little chance I will ever buy this pedal.)
•eqd- astral destiny
Already have
•eqd-afterneath v2
•eqd-disaster transport SR
•ehx-holy grail nano
I should just make a destructive reverb track one day once I get all these pedals.
I think it’s becoming a problem...

Axe of the Day - Hardluck Kings Bombshell . This is Hardluck Kings' take on the Strat. I have to say, the neck feels great, the trem works pretty well, and it stays in tune!! I swapped the stock pickups for the Lace Holy Grail set, and they sound great. . It has a 25-1/2" scale neck, which has a nice matte black finish, like the body. The decal came with this edition; it was an anniversary of their first issue of this model, and the original had the decal. I think it looks pretty cool. It has the 5 position blade selector, Volume and two Tones like a Strat. . Like all the Hardluck Kings guitars I have, I got it from their clearance, or showroom, section on the website. I haven't visited the site recently, so I don't know if they still have that, but when I got all these a couple of years ago, that area offered great discounts. . This is tuned to E flat standard, and is strung with D'Addario NYXL09544 9.5-44 . . 🎶🎵🤘 . . #oldschool #guitarist #bassist #musician #originalmusic #metal #rock #heavyrock #heavymetal #gothic #doom #sludge #prog #shoegaze #blackmetal #blackgaze #postrock #ambient #popmetal #originalmusic #cruellogic #cruellogicband @fuzzlordeffects @behringer @blackhawkamps @marshallamps_uk @voxamplification @peaveyelectronics @bossfx_us @jimdunlopusa @ehx @tcelectronic @fender @nuxefx @catalinbread @fulltone @ibanez @darkglasselectronics @schecterguitarsofficial @joyoofficial @orangeamplifiers @moonrootlogos @redbeardeffects @incendiumonline @snakeoilfineinstruments @walrusaudioeffects @earthquakerdev @oldbloodnoise @pedaltrain @focusritepro @m_audio @presonusstudioone @toontrack @hardluckkings @lacepickups (at Ocean County, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_LZA4dnAht/?igshid=1v24a0amr5plq

I just read your article about Ed's new amps. I don't know if I understood you correctly. Does he have (and use) reverb now ? I thought he only used delays live. Thank you for your answer. Antoine
Hello! You understand correctly, Ed’s current Audio Kitchen amps do have built-in reverb.
Ed’s setups has almost always included reverb, but he has rarely used the effect in a forward manner. Reverb is not necessary to create his distinctive atmospheric and ethereal sounds (those are delay-based), and for more traditional playing he mainly used it to give natural ambience. Additionally, from 2006 to 2011 Ed seems to have relied entirely on either Nigel or the band’s sound engineer for any reverb that was needed. Overall, it’s fair to say that while Ed does not consider reverb necessary, he does prefer to have the option of reverb in order to add natural ambience to his playing.
The Mesa Boogie Trem-o-Verbs which Ed used from 1992 to 2009 have built-in reverb. The Dave Petersen Vox AC30’s which he used from 2000-2009 have no built-in reverb, but from 2000-2001 Ed used a BOSS RV3 with the amps, and from 2003-2004 he used a “big box” EHX Holy Grail. He seems to have used no reverb with his AC30’s from 2006-2009. Additionally, Ed used a BOSS RV5 on the 2012 tour when playing through Fender Vibro-King Custom amplifiers.

EHX Cathedral Stereo Pedal
The Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb pedal gives you all the options you could want to find that perfect reverberated sound. With eight different reverb settings, customizations for each setting, and even a preset-loading function, you can bet that you’ll be able to dial in the reverb that fits your guitar playing to a tee.
Features:
8 different reverbs to choose from: Grail Spring (for fans of the famous Holy Grail spring reverb emulation), Accu Spring, Hall, Room, Plate, Reverse, Grail Flerb (a flange/reverb combination originally found on the Holy Grail), and Echo. You can also program your own reverb setting and store it in a preset.
Controls:
Blend – Controls how much of the dry signal is sent through without being affected by the Cathedral. Crank it to wash out your signal entirely.
Reverb Time – Adjust how long the chosen reverb effect stays in the mix. Turned on slightly, it adds a hint of effect for sweetened leads. When dimed, it essentially creates an infinite reverb effect. It’s easier to use the infinite setting on the Tap Tempo than to keep this knob cranked and risk some rough feedback.
Damping/Tone – Allows you to refine the tone on each reverb setting.
Feedback – This knob works well with the Echo preset. You can set how many reverberant echoes are in the wet signal.
Pre-Delay – This controls how much time is between the dry signal and the repeated effect of the reverb. The Cathedral has up to two seconds of pre-delay memory. It’s recommended that you use the Tap Tempo for the pre-delay, as it will be a bit more accurate and less painstaking to dial it in with your personal rhythm.
Tap Tempo – Using the Tap Tempo is a must for dialing in the pre-delay time, or you can hold it for infinite reverb. One of the only reverb pedals to feature a tap tempo.
Stereo Input/Output – Split your signal into left and right channels for a true surround sound effect.
Power – Uses a 9V DC power supply. No battery option is available.
It has more features than the Hallf of Fame pedal and the Fender FVR-1 combined.
Pros:
Options – The Cathedral is made for the guitarist who can’t make up their mind on one single reverb. This pedal delivers solid emulations of just about every kind of reverb you could want. For a guitarist just getting into reverb effects, this pedal is a great starting point for hearing the differences between the types of reverb available.
Improved Holy Grail Settings – Fans of the Holy Grail will dig the improvements Electro-Harmonix made on the classic effects. They are true to the original emulations and have more tweakability than their separate pedal counterpart.
Cons:
Digital – This reverb pedal will convert your signal to a digital model. While it is a 24-bit conversion, it can sound a little fake at higher levels. This pedal is best used for gigging over recording.
Price – You get a lot of options with the Cathedral, but they don’t come cheap. If you use a lot of different reverbs, then the Cathedral will save you space and money, but if you find that only one or two settings are what you’re looking for, then look for an analog reverb that does what you like instead.
Power – It needs its own dedicated power source and doesn’t have the option of using a battery. Make sure you’ve got the spare juice to keep this thing working.

Haven't done a family picture proper in a while so I did a couple.... this is the new live rig I it's entire glorious state. I am waiting on my new power supplies and cables to rewire everythimg and clean up a bit of the bad cable sounds. I am also waiting for a new switcher looper so that I can run every single chain of sound I have into my distortion and Loop Stations individually as needed.. All this breaks down to fit in the backseat of a Mazda 3 and takes around 8 minutes to set up (if I'm booking it a bit but still under the 12 min change over goal I have for my work) List as follows in somewhat order of Chain Group A TC Polytune EHX Hum Debugger BOSS NS 2 Noise Suppressor DSM Noisemaker Drivemaker TC Nova Dynamics Custom Sustain Pedal EHX Holy Grail TC Ditto Looper (Custom Switcher Looper) Group B EHX HOG w/footswitch EHX Stereo Talking Machine EHX Dual Expression Pedal (for those two) Custom Sustain TC Nova Modulator TC Nova Reverb DeadBeat ThankYou Dist/Fuzz Group C Custom Sustain EHX Big Muff Dwarfcraft Pitchgrinder Custom Dual Engine Boost/ Distortion Group D Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 (Interface/ Soundcard/ Instrument MIDI in) Native Instrument Guitar Rig Jam Origin MIDI Guitar 2 Jam Origin MIDI Bass Native Instruments Maschine MK2 (controls drum sounds and samples) Native Instruments Maschine MK2 Mikro (controls all of my midi sounds) Group E Boss RC 505 Boss RC 300 Into Phil Jones Suitcase and Compact 4 Phil Jones Earbox (personal mic stand mounted monitor) My DAW is Reaper and my recording program is Studio One I can't list all the sound packs and midi programs because I have a bunch So... there you have it. The main reason I haven't done a rig rundown in so long is because I was collecting the pieces. I'm not a rich person so it takes a while to collect things and I want to "measure twice, cut once" when it is finally time to video chat with the world about it all. Hope you enjoyed!! Thank you for all of your amazing support Thank you to @philjonesbass , @nativeinstruments , @tcelectronic , @ehx , @dsmnoisemaker , @deadbeat_sound , and of course @boss for making all this incredible gear that I get to use https://www.instagram.com/p/BqQtwi_hlYy/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ji2bqkav4a28
