I was able to guess what the necklace was made of before the reveal but not the person the necklace represented even though ive hears her name a bunch of time

#prince's talk tag #the necklace was a mosquito incased in a resin. the name of the resin is the same as a character in the show #i knew the resin was amber and made the connection bc i read t/egami b/achi in high school/college #and that was an important plot point in the series #(it was a good series. had cool characters and the art was nice but it was rushed at the end) #(recommend reading it instead of watching it bc the anime does the art an injustice. i know its animation but i dont like the colors used) #but anyway i forgot in this episode that there was a character named amber bc in my mind i used house's nickname for her as her actual name #which is not a nice nickname but that was the one that kept shouting in my head as her name #maybe my brain didnt want me to know the twist before fully showing it in the show #its waa funny the imagination was like 'whats my necklace made of?' and i was like 'its amber but who's named amber?????' #<- boo boo the fool

Leden van de universitaire Detective Club -- dol op het lezen van puzzelboeken -- slaan geen uitnodiging af om op een eiland naar een verborgen schat te zoeken! Maria's grootvader heeft die verstopt, en beelden neergezet die een beetje aan de moai van Paaseiland doen denken en die ongetwijfeld een aanwijzing zijn. Maria's neef Hideto was er drie jaar geleden van overtuigd dat hij de aanwijzing had gevonden, maar hij is kort daarna verdronken. Maria, Alice en Mr Egami voegen zich voor een week bij de overige familieleden van Maria tijdens de zomervakantie. Ze zijn er nog maar net als er al doden vallen, in een gesloten kamer. Behalve de schat, moeten ze nu ook -- voor hun eigen lijfsbehoud -- een moordenaar vinden. Die misschien ook nog iets met de schat te maken heeft, want was de dood van Hideto echt wel een ongeluk?

Voor het laatste hoofdstuk heeft de schrijver een 'Challenge to the reader' ingelast. De lezer weet evenveel als de detectives en heeft daaraan in principe genoeg om de zaak op te lossen. Ik was lui -- ik had wel een vermoeden, op basis van motief en de wetten van het genre (en dat klopte), maar ik had zeker niet alle logische elementen zo precies gezien als de auteur ze had aangegeven.

[SPOILER ALERT] Met aan kanttekening dat de detectives buiten beschouwing hebben gelaten dat de beweringen van de dokter over het tijdstip van overlijden eigenlijk niet zomaar voor waar zouden mogen worden aangenomen, als de dokter ook verdacht is.
