Wilderness (TV Series) | Trailer
Yesterday @primevideo released the trailer for the TV Adaptation of B.E. Jones' #Wilderness with maybe the best song/trailer match. #JennaColeman #OliverJacksonCohen #TVAdaptation #BookToTV #OfficialTrailer
Writer: B.E. Jones (Novel), Marnie Dickens Director: So Yong Kim Stars: Jenna Coleman, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Ashley Benson, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Jake Anton. I’ve rarely seen a song representing a movie or a series as much as this one does. It’s a double-edged sword because on the one hand the song gives a clear idea of what the series is about but on the other it seems like a bit of a…

EXCLUSIVE: Jenna Coleman (The Serpent) and Oliver Jackson-Cohen (The Invisible Man) have been cast as co-leads of Amazon Original drama series, Wilderness, from Firebird Pictures. Filming begins this month in the U.S., Canada and UK, with the series launching on Prime Video next year in over 240 countries and territories.
Written and created by Marnie Dickens based on B.E. Jones’ novel of the same name, Wilderness revolves around British couple Liv (Coleman) and Will (Jackson-Cohen) who seem to have it all: a rock-solid marriage; a glamorous new life in New York thousands of miles from their provincial hometown; and still young enough to feel that their whole lives are ahead of them. Until Liv learns about Will’s affair. Heartbreak is swiftly followed by another emotion: fury. Revenge is her only option, and when Will proposes a trip around America’s epic National Parks to give their relationship a fresh start, Liv knows just how to get it…Wilderness is a twisted love story, where a dream holiday and a supposedly “happily-ever-after” quickly turns into a living nightmare.
Wilderness is directed and executive produced by So Yong Kim (Lovesong) and executive produced by Elizabeth Kilgarriff and Dickens and produced by Firebird Pictures.
“I’m very much looking forward to getting on the road, into the wilderness and the depths beyond,” said Coleman. “Working alongside Oliver, we will be exploring the boundaries of a relationship that is tested in unimaginable ways and in the hands of the wonderful So Yong Kim, Marnie Dickens and Liz Kilgarriff at Firebird Pictures. I know this is going to make for an extraordinary trip.”

so now we know why oliver and jenna followed each other a couple of weeks ago. it looks like they've already started working on it since that's a picture from set!
i've had a few people in my inbox guessing what project might've had ashley benson and eric balfour also following oliver and jenna, and oliver following them both in the last week. according to their instagrams, ashley and eric also are in canada working on something that also started shooting this week . . . it's too random so my best guess is that they are also in wilderness.
either way yay! more ollie content coming in the next year!

The critically acclaimed show, created and written by Hossein Amini and James Watkins and inspired by Misha Glenny’s best-selling book of the same name, is the fourth most popular drama title, by peak episode, on BBC iPlayer ever, making it one of the most popular shows on BBC iPlayer of all time. Episode one is also the most watched content on BBC iPlayer so far this year.
Co-produced by the BBC, Cuba Pictures and AMC, in association with Twickenham Studios, McMafia series one had an overall average of 7.1 million viewers (28 days consolidated) Kicking off on New Year’s Day, it was the biggest new drama launch across any channel this year to date. It charted Alex Godman's (James Norton) journey deeper and deeper into the world of organised crime, eventually finding himself unable to resist the lures of corruption. The drama's clear relevance to the current world climate contributed greatly to both public and political debate, with new legislation on unexplained wealth orders dubbed "the McMafia Law".
Creators Hossein Amini and James Watkins say: “We are so thrilled with how McMafia has resonated with audiences across the world and are delighted to be given the opportunity to cast more light on the shady intersections of transnational criminals and their enablers in finance, law, intelligence agencies and even in governments.”
Piers Wenger, Controller of BBC Drama, says: “McMafia’s blend of topicality and killer storytelling struck a chord with audiences and significantly added to the discourse around Anglo-Russian relations and we are excited to be returning to that world in the safe and brilliant hands of James and Hoss for series two.”
The series has been recommissioned by Piers Wenger, Controller of BBC Drama and Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC Content. Executive Producers are Nick Marston, Dixie Linder, Ben Hall and Robyn Slovo for Cuba Pictures, Elizabeth Kilgarriff for BBC One and Hossein Amini, James Watkins and Misha Glenny. Paul Ritchie will return as producer.

Series Four Filming press release
With fans still reeling from the climactic events of series three, the fourth series of BBC One's much loved drama Poldark begins filming this week. Adapted by Debbie Horsfield from the novels by Winston Graham and produced by Mammoth Screen this eight part series, starring Aidan Turner as Ross Poldark and Eleanor Tomlinson as his wife Demelza, will film across Cornwall, the West Country and locations in London for transmission next year. 1796: Ross (Turner) must defend Cornwall from an empowered George Warleggan (Jack Farthing), and risks everything he holds dear as he embarks on a political journey which takes him to the nation's capital. Demelza (Tomlinson) finds her loyalties torn, Elizabeth (Heida Reed) tries to strengthen her marriage, Morwenna (Ellise Chappell) continues to be oppressed by husband Reverend Ossie Whitworth (Christian Brassington), and the Enyses (Luke Norris and Gabriella Wilde) are tested as never before. Two powerful new characters enter the saga, as Rebecca Front (War And Peace, The Thick Of It) is Lady Whitworth, Ossie’s formidable mother, and Max Bennett (The Hollow Crown) is Monk Adderley, an unscrupulous society figure who is on a collision course with the Poldarks. Also back for series four are Harry Richardson and Tom York as Drake and Sam Carne, Beatie Edney as Prudie and Josh Whitehouse as Lieutenant Hugh Armitage, who remains deeply in love with Demelza. Poldark has a strong returning audience averaging 6.7m consolidated viewers and a further 1m BBC iPlayer requests per episode across all three series. Mammoth executive producer Karen Thrussell says: "We were hugely gratified by the massive amount of love the audience felt for series three. We hope this will be our strongest series yet, with eight brilliant scripts from Debbie Horsfield, a whole new world of stories and our very wonderful cast. In this series Ross and Demelza will face new challenges and try to turn their backs on old ghosts. Ross strives to become a better man, but his dark and reckless streak is never far from the surface and will lead to him facing new enemies and suffering great losses." Elizabeth Kilgarriff, BBC Executive Producer, said: “The BBC One viewers adore Poldark and we can’t thank them enough for their continued support across the last three series. The hard work and dedication of the production team and cast is why the show just keeps getting better. Debbie’s scripts for series four are some of the best yet, and I can't wait to share what she has in store with the fans!” Poldark is adapted by Debbie Horsfield (Age Before Beauty, Cutting It, The Riff Raff Element) produced by Michael Ray (Poldark) and directed by Joss Agnew (Mr Selfridge, Jekyll And Hyde) and Brian Kelly (The Loch, Outlander). Debbie Horsfield continues to serve as executive producer alongside Tom Mullens, Karen Thrussell and Damien Timmer for Mammoth Screen and Elizabeth Kilgarriff for the BBC. Filming will take place across Cornwall and around Bristol, including the Bottle Yard Studios, over the coming months and the series will transmit in 2018 on BBC One.

Jenna Coleman’s new show, “The Jetty” is launching at the BBC studios showcase as one of the main attractions this week. Distributors from around the world will be able to acquire it as well.
BBC Studios is betting that The Jetty can be a global hit
The link also features an interview with Jenna Coleman (who plays the leading role of Ember Manning), executive producer Elizabeth Kilgariff, and writer Cat Jones. Here are some of the highlights:
Coleman: “What I enjoyed so much about Ember is that her good character traits are also her flaws – her pride and her beating down the door and not being able to give up, and her arrogance in certain ways. All of those traits that are her best bits are also her flaws. So we see her turning in on herself all the time. We really see her in so many extreme, complex, emotional segues.”
“Ember goes on a big journey across the four episodes. We don’t let her off the hook at all. But she is always quite badass. And she’s really funny,” Kilgarriff says. “She is that person who might say the wrong thing, but you just love her, because she’s just so cool.”
“We talked about Jenna playing Ember even before I think we had the green light.”
Kilgariff: “We’ve got Archie Renaux playing her sidekick, Hitch. It’s a very interesting relationship. It starts out very much like, “oh God, he needs to learn from Ember,” and Ember is a sort of older sister, teaching him the way. But as we go along, there are moments where he just will say things that make her sort of stop and perhaps second-guess herself a little bit.”
Coleman: “That is a dynamic that gives us so much of the humor in the show.”
I can’t wait for people to see Ember. I think she was a pretty cool character on the page. But what Jenna has done with her is amazing. You know that thing where you’ve got two friends, and you know when you introduce them, they’re going to love each other. That’s how I feel about audiences meeting Ember. She’s just exactly the person you’d want if you’re in trouble. She’ll sort it out. And she’ll make jokes about it as well. She’s fun to be with.
Could we see more of Ember in the future?
Kilgarriff: “The show works very well, it is very satisfying as a piece, which I think is really important for the audience. Saying that, but I don’t want to give anything away, I would love to see her back again. And I do think the audience is going to respond to her in an incredibly positive way. So, yeah, it would be wonderful. But we don’t know that.”
Jones: “It’s really funny. I hope so. You’re very funny, Jenna. And she’s a very entertaining character. There are lots of scenes of Ember and Hitch in cars, driving around places. I would love to do a spin-off show of just Ember and Hitch driving around, just talking about things. They’re so entertaining. There’s not enough space to have as many of those scenes as you want.”
Kilgariff: “It’s really fun watching it in the edit, I have to say. Ember and her mother, I think, Amelia and Jenna, they are fantastic. I can see a spin-off in those two as well. I think lots of people will identify with that relationship. It’s very moving and very funny. So it just feels very real.”

Anya Taylor-Joy, Romola Garai & Alex Hassell Among Stars In ‘The Miniaturist’ Adaptation For BBC One, Masterpiece
From Deadline April 2017: Anya Taylor-Joy, Romola Garai and Alex Hassell have been set to star in BBC One and Masterpiece’s period thriller The Miniaturist, based on the best-selling novel by Jessie Burton. They’ll be joined in the three-part series, which is currently filming, by Paapa Essiedu (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Hayley Squires (I, Daniel Blake) and Emily Berrington (Humans).
Fleming and Sylvia scribe John Brownlow pens the series while Guillem Morales directs. Story is set in 1686, when 18-year-old Nella Oortman (Taylor Joy) knocks at the door of a grand house in the wealthiest quarter of Amsterdam. Full of hopes and dreams, she has come from the country to begin a new life as the wife of wealthy merchant Johannes Brandt (Hassell). Instead, she’s met by his cold sister Marin (Garai) and their servants (Squires, Essiedu) and quickly realizes that nothing is as it seems. When Brandt finally appears, he presents her with an extraordinary wedding gift: a cabinet that is a miniature replica of their home which is to be furnished by an elusive Miniaturist, whose tiny creations mirror what is happening within the house in unexpected ways and Nella soon realizes the escalating dangers that await them all.
The Miniaturist is produced by The Forge for BBC and co-produced with Masterpiece. Gethin Scourfield produces. Exec producers are Kate Sinclair and George Faber for The Forge, Elizabeth Kilgarriff for the BBC and Rebecca Eaton for Masterpiece. Filming is taking place in Holland and the UK and the 3×60 series is expected to transmit later this year. All3Media handles international distribution.
“From the moment I read The Miniaturist in manuscript, I knew in my gut it was something truly unique – an exquisite mix of another world with the resonances of our own, not to mention characters to die for,” said Sinclair.
“I couldn’t be happier to tell this amazing and atmospheric story with such a wonderful group of people,” said Taylor-Joy. “I immediately fell in love with Nella’s resilience and am so looking forward to telling her story and helping to bring this magical book to life.”
Burton added: “This is an adventure for my book that I never dreamed possible and I’m so happy that The Miniaturist is in such capable and creative hands. The assembled cast is perfect to the vision I had in my mind’s eye in every way and I know they’ll make magic.”
Taylor-Joy starred in M. Night Shyamalan’s box office and breakout hit Split for Universal and also Thoroughbred for Focus Features. The in-demand actress also recently finished shooting thriller Marrowbone for Lionsgate.
Garai is known for her role in Oscar-winning pic Atonement as well as 2015’s title Suffragette and TV series The Hours. Hassell’s credits include Anonymous and Cold Mountain and he can next be seen in George Clooney’s Suburbicon.

Jim Sturgess (One Day, The Way Back) and Agyness Deyn (Sunset Song) play detectives Robert Hicks and Elaine Renko, partners and enemies in contemporary London, who seek to enforce the law and protect their loved ones in a world that every day slips closer to certain destruction. Robert Hicks (Sturgess) is a family man and a great, committed copper. He’s also profoundly corrupt. Elaine Renko (Deyn) is difficult and damaged… and utterly incorruptible. Hicks and Renko stand on different ends of the social and moral spectrum. They also seriously distrust one other - and for good reason. But they must somehow learn to work together if they’re going to survive until the end of the world. Jim Sturgess says: “I am very excited to be playing Hicks in this wonderful project. To work with Neil's fantastic writing is a great opportunity and I hope we are going to create an amazing experience for our audience.
