#i could only play a single ep #of kfos #in the entire 72 hr event #so the reason is #i am actually at my maternal grandparents house for 1 yr death anniversary of my grandma #so my aunt is here #and she took me and my sis out for shopping and going around the city for consecutively 3 days #and i have rc on my tab #like really old ass tab so the charge also finishes early #plus it is really inconvenient to carry your tab everywhere #that's why i couldn't play 😔 #i have to wait for another 2-3 weeks now #romance club #rc diamond rush

anyone who says max is a plank of wood character did not watch the same show I did AT ALL.

The main problem he suffers from from a production standpoint in my eyes is the fact that the writers use him as one of two main spokespeople for The Message of the episode (along with ms moynihan) and therefore he has some of the most clunky dialogue of any of the main five, but if you get around that bro is literally just everybody's mother. My proof is the Not So Great Outdoors episode, when he tells everybody to go pack and then comes back to the most atrocious amount of things possible in the car and gets mad. You know who does that for long road trips? Moms that's who. Theres other proof I have lined up but thats going to make this take too long to get out. I will die on the hill that Max is a single parent basically though.

The only thing I wish they had included more of is the highschool senior mindset because literally if you do a single extracurricular activity you are just going through it by senior year, especially if its not one but two very time consuming extracurriculars (that at the high school I went to were like 3 hour practices every day but one MINIMUM) that based on seasons might be already hard to manage AND THEN getting turned into a T-Rex on top of it and being hunted by a billionaire raptor man??? Max is 100% just flying in survival mode and that burnout is going to hit fast and hard I guarantee it. (I am aware Caruso does both of these sports as well but I have a whole essay on him planned too Ill get to that then) He should get to be bitter bc even though he was probably already going through it brosephine was winning at life, and probably would have been set for college, but now has to stay home with the children that got dumped on him because GOD FORBID he try and actually get the group project done. I think they could have very well given Max more of the exhausted woman at starbucks asking how much it would be to fill a venti cup with expresso energy, but that is really the main issue I have with how they approached the characterization of him in the show, but by NO MEANS is he just like there. Show producers should have given him the nastiest caffeine addiction AT LEAST! if not weed if were being real here.

I think the reason his characterization is so bashed on from what i've seen in the fandom is that as a character he doesn't have as obviously definable character traits like someone like Buzz or Rodger does, and the above mentioned sometimes clunky dialogue, BUT IT IS THERE!!!

idk if they will but if they make even one throwaway line about dennis‘ eating disorder in the chuck e cheese ep i will tear out all my eyelashes….idk his relationship to food and specifically fast food is sooo interesting to me and i could literally just look up at the ceiling and ramble about it for hours and like. one tiny line. just one throwaway joke. if he says the words carbs or grease or fat i will scream so loud it punctures the eardrums of everyone in the vicinity. i keep having horrifying visions of seeing everyone casually eating pizza at some point in the ep except for dennis and its not brought up but just something i have to go crazy over. idk

Thinking about how everyone talks about how arma always gets so much outside material of all the getter series, like it’s practically most of the merch and whenever getter is repped in crossovers-SRW or not-they always use arma as their iteration but probably due to the fact this a bit of obscure knowledge, I never hear anyone mention the fact arma afaik is the only getter anime to get some side stuff:

<In shin manga there is a singular bonus chapter that is set in armas verse that shows the end of the moon war, written and drawn by ishikawa himself <got its own audio drama cd midway through the shows production that covered events post moon wars but pre show, it also contained two songs that were character songs for go and ryoma, who their vas also sung for <In early 2000s, imagawa, the first director for the anime, in a magazine for a SRW manga he wrote his own three chapter manga that covered some of his ideas that didn’t make it in the final show after he left

Merch and crossover appearances are one thing but it’s kinda crazy how putting aside arc as it’s a full on adaptation, arma is the *only* anime to actually get some manga stuff even if it’s a few chapters, and a audio drama that’s like a hours worth of content on top of that. Like still kinda baffles me that during the whole period of the franchise post-ishikawas death that no one made mangas about any of the OVAs when each of them have potential for a prequel/sequel story that could just be a volume or so long, expect for arma getting a tiny bit of it. It’ll always be so weird to think about it’s the most popular iteration of the franchise despite there being a lot of disinterest for it in the mecha circles nowadays bc of how overused it is yet it’s clearly the one people care about the most and it seems early on it was so apparent it was the money maker.

Let me take you on a journey through my thought process when I notice a pattern/coincidence...

This weekend I learned that the below fabric pattern is called Houndstooth. Why? You may be asking...well, I first properly noticed Kuea's bedsheet and pillows in Cutie Pie ep 8...and didn't think much of them until I saw them again in ep 10 this weekend, when I thought to myself "more ikea things!" because I've quite often seen stuff from ikea on the sets of bl series. (I also thought "why on earth did the design team use three different patterns in one shot?!" but that's by the by...) Anyway, I don't have these bedsheets but I'm sure I've seen them in ikea in the past...or something similar...

Then yesterday, I watched What Zabb Man ep 4 and Teng wears not one but two different shirts with the same pattern...and in the same scene! (the second is on a video he shows Punn). "Aha!" my brain went, "a coincidence!"

At this point, I had already planned to write a post, just to note this...

BUT...

In the evening I finally watched Blueming (since I had caved and paid for the subscription to iqiyi) and lo and behold in ep 10 Cha Siwon has the same pattern on his sweater...this time in colour...and I just about squealed. So, I googled the pattern and discovered its name and that it's been in use since 1500-1200 BC...so not an ikea original 😂

Anyway. Just a coincidence or something more? Or perhaps houndstooth could be the new stripy shirt @absolutebl?
