Major Health Risk Unfolding Amid In Pakistan

Flood is a natural disaster that occurs worldwide and has a massive impact on health. The recent flood in Pakistan affected more than 33 million people. Around 100 people died, and 1500 were injured. And 161,000 people are surviving in the camps.

These people have no medical facilities and are asking for help from the government and different welfare organizations. Poverty is also the main reason for increasing health risks.

Due to the post-flood damages and uncertainties, major health risks are unfolding in Pakistan. The UN agency also warned of the further spread of dengue and malaria fever. Around 888 health facilities were affected, and 180 had damaged completely. Millions of people do not have access to health care or medical treatment.

Now it is the responsibility of the government and privileged society to help their brothers so these people can come back to their normal life.

Causes Of Health Risk In Pakistan

Loss And Damage

The climate change in Pakistan this year has been followed by heatwaves and highly destructive or damaging floods. Many people died, and around 8 million people left their places. The infrastructure damaged many districts in Pakistan and has caused more than 30 billion in damages with economic losses.

Most assets, crops, livestock, and houses are fully damaged. But the major loss is the lives of their loved ones. It has a huge effect on their mental health. Now they are facing a hopeless and uncertain situation. 

Stagnant Water And Diseases

For the past few weeks, flood water has decreased in many affected areas of Pakistan, but a huge volume of stagnant water persists in many areas. This stagnant water causes malaria, polio, dengue fever, and diarrhea due to poor sanitation and damage to the health center.

Initially, around 1003 confirmed cholera and 64787 dengue cases were reported. One hundred forty-seven people died. Malaria is a major outbreak in affected areas.

Poverty And Rehabilitation

People have lost almost everything and now have nothing to spend on rehabilitation. Many affected areas' infrastructure has been completely damaged. There are no hospitals or schools, and even the electrical system of those areas has been damaged. Million people have been displaced.

The government is working on rehabilitation, but it requires time to get back to building complete infrastructure. They need financial support to build their houses because it may cost billions to recover from damage.

Lack Of General Needs

Over 1.9 million people were affected this year by floods. Families struggle to manage the huge loss of homes, food, crops, land, and infrastructure. They need all the necessities for survival, like food, drinking water, shelter, medicine, and clothes.

Affected people need immediate support and long-term help to regain their livelihoods destroyed by flood. Over 630,000 people are living in relief camps. Around 80% are in Sindh. Children and pregnant women face malnutrition due to poverty and lack of food.

S.O.S Appeal - Donate to Kerala       (India)-Floods Victims Now!

Every one internationally no know of the torrential rain that hit many parts of South India; the state of Maharashtra, Karnataka and the state of Kerala. Down pour, caused deluges, land slide in more than 40 places buried hundreds of people in 6 to 10 meters of mud. “Thavalappara” , near NILAMBUR, and “Puthhumala”, in Meppadi hills in Wynad district are the 2 places where huge land slide to a width of 6 kilometers had happened. Theses are tea-estates, where estate workers lived in houses. Temples, masque, church and houses were buried. Nearly 70 people or more people were buried in deep muds. And others who managed to run away and save their lives lost their all. 

The Kerala Government, NGOs, people are doing their all  to rescue people and refurbish their lives. There are Camp Centers, where 2. million people are fed and sheltered. AS per to-day, the rains are now slowing down and some people are returning to their homes to start a new life. Alas, they have nothing left. Many have no houses, lands or anything left. 

I am the Director of Bethel Evangelistic And Rehabilitation Centre, a 30 years on the field Christian National Charity (NGO) Registered, tax exempted, accountability oriented and a trust worthy Society. I am 69+now and I served in most of the Districts of KERALA STATE, with a mission organization as a young man. After a while I was ordained as a Pastor under Anderson Church of God and was posted in MEPPADI- church branch. I walked in every road of this area and visited most of the houses with the Good news of the Gospel. And I found my “Rose of Sharon & life partner” - from Kottayam- working in a hospital in Meppadi. I still maintain good contact with Meppadi. Naturally, God’s Holy Spirit is urging me to do some thing in my ability to these suffering people. 

Our Organization has the FCRA license and the DARPAN Registration to receive DONATIONS FROM FOREIGN COUNTRIES. Every single donation will be issued with our official Receipt. A clear case study of the beneficiary will be sent to you.
