#I'm usually all for DC telling us how things fit together but for that to be good things need to actually line up

would genuinely love to see your process for sketching out your comics!! ive wanted to make my own but i have never really figured out the process and end up overwhelmed- and you're one of the folks who makes stuff in a style that I kinda draw close to, and u do ur comics with pencil and paper- so if you wouldn't mind in the future, it'd be really cool to see how you actually get everything planned :)
This ask is so cute :( probably genuinely the biggest compliment I've ever received! Well, no waiting in the future! I'll tell you now what happens behind the scenes! :)
SO FIRSTLY, I'd like to clarify I am in no way a professional or even close to one, I never even looked up how to do comics, I just kinda do them and use what I've read from DC comics and Pinterest tips.
But! Personally, I find that making comics is fun and that's what I strive on. I won't lie when I say my comics are pretty bland, the surroundings are empty and lame but I think the character's expressions and body language make up for it, and especially the script. So altogether in this post, I'll be breaking down how my comics are made!
↓↓↓ if you're interested, open up the full post!
1 - Scripting
In both dialogue and character detail/placing!
I use a notes app for when I get ideas!
* I usually don't do specific dialogue, only stating the idea and then coming up with dialogue in my head, but there are some exceptions where I do write down pre-thought-out dialogues you can see in the examples I put below!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With the idea / dialogue in tow, we can go to character detail / placing. I don't know the actual word for it but basically how the character acts in a specific scene / dialogue!
Character expression is especially important when it comes to any type of art, be it comics or animation as it can tell a story with little to no dialogue!
* panels taken from 1 and 2 for context
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From here you can clearly tell their expressions well! Be sure to exaggerate!
2 - Limit planning
With Tumblr's 10 images limit, as well as Instagram if you post there, it's important to note that limit and know when to end the comic with a good panel where it doesn't feel like it's supposed to continue UNLESS you're making two parts!
I can't tell you how many times I've ruined my sketchbook papers trying to get a perfect script but I've been doing it long enough that my brain has adapted to the limit and every comic I've done since adapting had been a perfect ≤10.
But even if you decide to go with two (or maybe even more) parts, you should make sure it ends well still! Like a book! Those spaces between paragraphs and chapters and such!
Take these for examples too!
* panels taken from 1 and 2 for context
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So treat it like a book! I guess ?
3 - Panel placement
This isn't a necessity, but my personal way of drawing each panel is having it scattered around randomly around my sketchbook. I don't use strips or anything like that as it restricts me because using strips on paper is a whole lot harder than on digital. Because I have such a wide area to draw, I'm less restricted from drawing any excess things I want to add in case my dialogue doesn't fit the panel or so!
4 - Draw
Now to put it all together and make the comic! I usually already have my vision in mind so I can just go draw it without a light sketch layer, but I do recommend it!
What that is is essentially a sketch but drawn like.. your pencil is hovered above the page? Like you don't press down on it or something like that. Basically a guideline! So do that if you need it, and when you're satisfied with how it looks, you can draw it! And make sure it's clear!
After that, it's just picture and post! (Make sure you crop it right tho!)
4.5 - BONUS / TIPS
When I started posting Belos drawings, I never expected it to get any attention or even end up as a whole AU 😭 I just drew him in a babygirl hoodie and people ate that shit up so now it's an AU 💀 and because of that you need to prepare personalized tags!
Tags like pitmdau or sharing caleb au ! Very very useful for navigation
More important than tags, make sure you have a Masterpost!
I'm aware mine are unfinished and very messy and I'm trying to work on that right now but it's very difficult but people really need it so when making Masterposts, YOU HAVE KEEP UP WITH IT. I slacked of for ONE POST and now it's a mess.
Also another important note you can only put 100 links in one post so you have to make more Masterposts to navigate through the comics 😭
5 - Have fun!
When getting into comic making, I think really the most important thing to keep in mind is your enjoyment in making said comics. Sometimes some things can burn you out very quickly so when you're getting into things like this, especially when you're not getting paid, you gotta make sure you have fun doing it. It doesn't matter if it doesn't get a lot of traction or not, it only matters that you are enjoying making and posting them!
I've experienced MULTIPLE burn outs from making too many comics for my TOH AUs that at some point I just completely died and lacked motivation. But what drives me into making them are other people's enjoyment! Their enjoyment gives me enjoyment which gives me motivation to make more. Someday I'll know the AUs I've created will inevitably be over, at some point, but right now I'm just having fun with the small community I've built!
So make comics, and have fun!
I hope this was helpful in any way. I just want to clarify that, again, this is my way of making comics, and you don't have to follow anything I put into the post. I'm mostly hoping this was easy to understand as well. I'm more of a visual learner so making up the words to make this was kinda hard so I'm sorry if some parts didn't make sense. If anything, feel free to hit me with another ask or a PM! I know me not posting seems like I'm inactive but I promise I check Tumblr frequently 😭
Happy posting!!! :3

I read your new fanfic for JayKyle week (along with all the others) Fear and really loved it! (And for my next part just remember I like Kyle from what I've seen and him as White lantern seems cool but super OP for no real reason (but I haven't read comics so sorry))
With all these fics it makes me have thoughts (no mean to bash but why is Kyle even white lantern. From what I've seen (which is not a lot so I get it if I'm just being ignorant and unconsciously putting down the characters that aren't my fave 😥) it just seemed like OP move to make him stronger)
But onto what I hope doesn't come off as putting down a character for my own fave (and if that's what it is I don't mean it). But I keep on having thoughts of White lantern Jason.
Rather if (inspired by your fic) Jason goes into the pit and comes out a Red lantern, goes to space after a bit then goes back to Talia (there wasn't really much in space for him, and nothing with the bats anymore, but Talia?). Then when training/thinking about what Bruce should have done and Gotham gets a orange ring. Then maybe a Black ring while being Redhood (or however Jason would do it in this world). Then after the Black ring or after the pit madness cools down he realizes what he's done and gets a Yellow ring.
Then maybe the next ones would be Indigo, Violet, Green, Blue.(White)
And plusepoints if Jason meets people within this time. Like Bruce never really learns that its Jason rather if it's because he never went to Gotham or didn't stay long enough for the bats to find out. It's just one day this guy with at least one of the "bad" power rings shows up (Jason would show up for world crisises) and completely obliterate some guys. And everyone would be like "this guy is scary". And then he'd continue to show up with more and more ring and everyone is shocked.
.
.
.
I also like the idea of Jason and Kyle both being Green lanterns in space after Hal becomes Parallax. Kyle hates Jason because he's always telling Kyle what to do and kinda calling him stupid (Jason is just worried that this guy with like zero training is going to go out into space (with no plan) and get hurt or mess everything up. So Jason is just trying to show him how to be a hero/vigilante and Kyle. Isn't. Listening.(que Jason thinking Kyle is so stupid and stubborn and pretty and F#CK)
Thank you, glad your enjoying it all.
Its all good. Comics are confusing half the time, and contradictory. Can be a bit difficult to read, let alone understand what's happening when or where or why sometimes.
Kyle being op as White Lantern, that's to be expected tbh. He became WL because he managed to get chosen by all the seven rings (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet) and learned how to weild each of their individual powers. So he's not just weilding the power of one Lantern corps at that point, he's hitting seven plus whatever additional boost you'd expect to get from being WL. (pretty sure they did it this way to serve as a parrallel to the different rays of light and how when your eye sees all of them it makes white and when there's none it sees black.) I can see where you could see it as a move to make him way too overly strong, but another thing I'd say is it separated him from Hal both with plot and character wise. I've seen some people say that Kyle feels like DC just wanted a younger Hal, that they're not distinct enough, by giving him this thing he's getting something Hal and by extension no other characters had/held onto (as far as I'm aware the only other time we've seen WLs is in blackest night and that obviously didn't stick past that event). It also gives us that bonus Hal is extremely strong in Will but Kyle is intuned across the whole board. But that's all just my speculation and what I've gotten. And this is comics, where the rules and Canon are constantly changing to suit whoever's writing today.
I have thought of WLJason for a bit, kind of playing with the idea of how he came back to life and the WL power is supposed to be life. So you could argue channeling all the rings together to create the white one would be easier, the problem of course comes with getting the rings to him and not getting overloaded on all the power and emotions that come with them. A few have been shown to manipulate or change the wearer's emotional and mental state so you could play with the fear and struggle of that too (specific ones that come to mind being red, indigo, and violet). But you could mess around with how the rings work to fit the story. I do like your idea of him just being this unknown figure amassing this collection of rings without anyone knowing anything. Could play it off as a mystery if told from the bats or league's perspective, or like a sort of thriller if from Jason's.
Usually I think of Jason as WL in a situation where most of the League has disappeared, maybe through brainiac or some alien invasion or some supervillain we've never heard of. Of course with the League's disappearance someone has to step up and do something and after fighting with himself Jason does that. There are younger heroes and sidekicks just running around putting themselves in danger with no backup, he has to do something. At some point he gets a ring, either blue for the hope he's bringing to the people/that he has for finding the League, or green because he's not about to let anything else happen (plus the guardians are like, where the hell did our lanterns go? All six of them? This is clearly an emergency, we need someone there, now.) Over time he starts amassing the other rings and he becomes the WL. With the new power and this new team he's had to build from scratch within the last however many months/years he finds the missing League members and get them back. Cue the shock as everyone tries to figure out how this happened.
Ooh, new Green Lantern Kyle plus also new Green Lantern Jason could be fun too. Could almost go like a buddy cop route with it if you wanted, Jason tries to be the serious one while Kyle's just trying to enjoy himself. He gets it's important and all but c'mon man, we can go to space, that's so cool. Add in some mutual pining, the oh no this assholes really hot moment, and we're on our way. Since it's just became GL Kyle you could play it off as Jason just came out of the Lazarus Pit maybe too(maybe the pit madness didn't hit as bad here, or his will is strong enough to fight through it) so you can play up the young love aspect too.

Melissa Benoist explains why directing Supergirl's Lex-centric hour was 'daunting'
Melissa Benoist explains why directing Supergirl's Lex-centric hour was 'daunting'
Supergirl
Supergirl definitely isn't complaining about her latest team-up with Lex Luthor.
This Sunday, The CW's Supergirl returns for the final run of season 5 with a Lex-centric episode that marks Melissa Benoist's long-awaited directorial debut. Benoist has been dying to get behind the camera since season 3, but wasn't able to until now because of scheduling conflicts. Luckily, it seems like it was well-worth the wait because she got to helm an episode that diverges from the show's usual structure and perspective, which she admits was initially quite daunting.
Cleverly titled "Deus Lex Machina," the flashback-heavy hour essentially starts on day one of the post-"Crisis on Infinite Earths" world and sheds light on all of Lex's (Jon Cryer) behind-the-scenes machinations we haven't been aware of — from manipulating Eve Teschmacher (Andrea Brooks) and his sister Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath), to pitting Supergirl against Leviathan. In other words, it's very similar to season 4's "O Brother, Where Art Thou," except this time around the criminal mastermind is trying his hardest to keep his Kryptonian hatred in check so that he can focus on defeating Leviathan.
Below, Benoist walks EW through her experience in the director's chair, working with Cryer, and the challenges of handling such an exposition-heavy episode.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: What jumped out at you from a directing perspective when you read the script for the first time?
MELISSA BENOIST: Considering it was the first time in the director's chair for me, I think I'd be remiss if I didn't say how terrified I was. That just went without saying, that I was scared, but reading it also had this thrilling aspect to it because I was going to get to be the one to visualize it and make sure the tone was coming across. I guess only since season 4, we've had these episodes that were a departure from the story and took a step back and gave us Lex Luthor's point of view, and this is one of those episodes. So, I couldn't believe how lucky I was that I got to be the teller of that particular story for our season, where we recap the entire season from Lex Luthor, Jon Cryer's eyes. And I was very excited to get to work with him closely in an actor-director relationship. Aside from the initial terror, and wondering whether or not I was capable of doing it, I was so excited and immediately just imagining what I wanted to do and thinking of shots.
How would you describe the tone of the episode?
Tonally, it's difficult on these kinds of shows when an episode is from the perspective of our, for lack of a better term, villain, and he is one of the ultimate villains in the DC Universe. So I wanted to keep the tone light enough while still having that dark, macabre Luthor feeling to it. I wanted it to still feel like an adventure, like an episode of Supergirl, and he was the hero for our episode, whether you hate him or not. But it's hard to hate Lex Luthor, he's so delicious.
By nature, this episode is very expository because it’s explaining the season from his perspective. What challenges came with that?
I'm glad you pointed that out because that exact point was the most challenging aspect and the most daunting one because there are a lot of time jumps that let the audience follow Lex as he [learns about Earth-Prime]. It starts the day after Crisis. So in the way that we had Kara Danvers wake up after Crisis in her loft and it was this new world, Earth-Prime, this is Lex's telling of that. So, we time jump a lot, there's a lot of exposition, exactly, a lot of themes that we had to catch people up on. So that was a little daunting to make sure that yes, it was expository and informing the audience what they needed to know to understand, but also keeping it moving and entertaining and not just feeling like an encyclopedia, if you will.
One thing that stood out to me when I watched it was that it’s mainly built around scenes in which Lex is having one-on-one conversations with someone like Eve and Lena, often manipulating them. What was it like to work with Jon on those scenes?
I mean, that was the dream. Working with Jon Cryer, I felt so spoiled rotten that he was the primary actor I was getting to work with, and the cast surrounding him too, because we get to see Eve Teschmacher and Lillian Luthor [Brenda Strong] make [their returns]. All these characters that kind of surround his orbit, they're all so deft when it comes to those kinds of scenes where it's really wordy and talkative. He's an evil genius and manipulative, so I had to really keep track of who he was manipulating when and for what reason [Laughs] to make sure that each scene was really clear where it fit into his master plans and where it was taking us, and how it affected the super friends. But working with him, he's just so smart and far more experienced than I as an actor. Honestly, I felt bad. I didn't feel like I really needed to give him that much direction. It was more just playing, which I loved, and that's part of the reason I love being an actor — when you get to really just bite into the words and what's on the page and really play, and there's no wrong answer within the arc you're telling.
The photos from the episode revealed that Kara and Lena finally share a scene together, which they haven’t done since the 100th episode. What can we expect from their interaction?
I don't know how much I can say about how Lena and Kara interact, but they do and it's the first time we've seen them interact in a while. I think people will be excited to see the scenes between Kara and Lena, and that Lena does play a big part, obviously, because this episode revolves around her brother. There's quite a bit of Lena Luthor in there.
A lot of Arrowverse stars have directed episodes: David Harewood, Katie Cassidy, and Caity Lotz. Did you get any advice from them?
Of course. David Ramsey, as well has been really helpful. These shows are so specifically involved as actors already, the schedules are grueling, we’re there so much and we all get to know these so well. we spent a lot of time with each other on a crossover, so I did get quite a bit of advice from David of course. He gave me book recommendations and just every day we would kind of talk, especially when he was directing. I got to watch him and he has such a great fun, positive directing vibe about him. I didn't get to talk to Katie Cassidy much about it, but everyone was very supportive and excited and everyone has great ideas.
How did you feel your experience as an actor influenced your directing approach?
Well, I think, just innately, we approach the script a certain way just without even thinking about it. Thinking about tonally what emotions are there or what is driving a character, our objectives and our goals. But more than that, just for this show specifically, I feel like it's become a second skin and I've spent so much time with the characters, not just the ones I play. So it’s almost a little unfair because since day one, I've just seen how each character's arc has progressed and changed, and grown. So that really informed my approach to it all. And really we all just want to tell good stories, and that was my main focus the whole time.
Supergirl airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on The CW.

Warm up||Sua
Requested: Uhh can I get a little scenario with either DC's SuA or Handong, "umm I can come back later if you want me to, I mean..." With the reader crushing really hard on them?
Admin: Heather
A/N: It took me WAY to long to fill this prompt, but here it is! (Pst.. I will do it also for Handong ❤)
"It will be fun!" Your friend assured, dragging you towards the gym. She kept talking about signing you up for a yoga class for two weeks now and you finally let her take you there.
"I guess." You mumbled unconvinced. "Since when are you so keen on exercising?"
She didn't answer immediately and a blush colored her cheeks. Interesting.
"There's this girl I met on a party..."
Of course it was about some hot girl. Your friend has been moping about being single and miserable for ages.
"She attends the class?" You asked.
"She is the instructor."
You turned to her with raised eyebrows. So you were just a lame third wheel that had to suffer extreme muscle stretching while your friend thirsted over the instructor. Typical.
"Oh come on, Y/N. Don't look at me like that!" She huffed defensively. You just rolled your eyes and kept walking. After a minute, you found the locker room and changed quickly into workout clothes. You didn't even want to think about the pain you will feel on the next day.
"Maybe you will find someone interesting here as well." Your friend tried to convince you and save the remains of her desperate dignity.
"Yeah, sweaty dudes in too tight shots. Amazing." You responded sarcastically.
You finally got to the training room and took a yoga mat. Your friend couldn't stop talking about the benefits yoga had for body and soul as if she didn't attend the class only because of a hot instructor. Zoning out, you planned an escape route when two girls entered the room and your breath stopped for a moment.
"She's beautiful, right?" Your friend whispered as a tall girl greeted everyone and introduced herself to the new participants.
"Hi everyone! I'm Minji, but you can call me Jiu. Thank you for coming today." Her smile was dazzling and you had to agree with your lovestruck friend. Jiu was crazy beautiful. However you couldn't take your eyes away from the other girl.
"You didn't tell me Bora worked here!" You whispered back. Your friend's eyes got wide when she realised that Jiu's companion was your longtime crush.
"I had no idea, Minji was our only instructor..." she quickly explained.
Jiu smiled warmly at everyone and motioned towards for her friend to come closer. Bora took a graceful step forward and bowed a little with a laugh.
"I'm Bora, but most people call me Sua. I will be your co-instructor today." She informed in a confident tone that seemed too big for her tiny frame.
"Sua usually teaches the fitness class, but she agreed to help me today. We have many new members, so we'll have to split into two groups." Jiu explained.
You stood there frozen as the instructor divided everyone. The newbies were told to follow Sua to a different room, while more experienced people stayed to train with Minji. Your friend was over the moon because of that.
"Have fun!" She shouted with a wink and you wanted to rub that smug smirk off her face. Now you had to exercise for who knows how long with your crush watching. Amazing.
The room was smaller as your group had less members than the advanced one. Sua put her own mat on the ground and stood in front of you all.
"As Jiu told you, I usually teach fitness. So I'm definitely not a pro." She informed with another giggle and everyone smiled with her. Her laugh was so contagious, you had to join in. "We'll learn together."
You shruddered a bit at her words. You could only dream about any "together" with Sua and now you were in the same room, exercising together.
She started with some simple breathing techniques and basic stretching. You tried to focus on your inner voice or something like that and stop looking at her beautiful features. Closing your eyes helped with that and you breathed in and out. You were almost there when two small hands appeared on your shoulders, making you tense.
"You are way to focused." Sua's low whisper rang in your ear. "Just relax, Y/N."
It was hard to relax when you could still feel her burning touch after said your name like that. And how did she know it in the first place?
The rest of the class passed on trying some basic positions and more stretching. You tried to get Bora out of your head and stay proffesional, but it was difficult when she was stretching on the mat in front of you. Who knew she was so darn flexible?
"Okay, we should end for today!" Sua finally stood up smoothly and looked at the group with a small smile. Everyone was tired and covered in sweat, but you had to admit the class was entertaining. Not only because of the pleasant view.
Everyone thanked Bora for guidance and she took another bow with a loud laugh. You reluctantly left the room, dazzled by her laugh. However your daydream was quickly interrupted by a body colliding with yours.
"How was it?!" Your friend squealed into your ear and grabbed your arm. You glared at her a bit, but couldn't make it intimidating when a soft smile lingered on your face. "Damn, Sua got you good."
You smacked her and she protested innocently, as if she wasn't teasing you seconds earlier. She was right unfortunately. You were attracted to Sua for almost a year now, ever since you borrowed notes from her for a Chemistry test and she told you that "Chemistry can mean a lot of things". Needless to say, you had no chance with a girl like her.
"Crap." Your friend suddenly stopped in her tracks. "I left my water bottle there."
You rolled your eyes at her as she looked at you with puppy eyes.
"Please, Y/N. Get it for me!" She asked. "I can't make an idiot out of myself in front of Jiu."
You agreed with a sigh and moved back towards the room she trained in before. Opening the door, you froze. Minji was nowhere in sight, but Bora stood in front of the mirror and stretched. You felt like a creep watching her like this, but you had to take that freaking bottle.
"Oh, Y/N. I didn't see you there." Sua said nonchalantly and continued pulling her tone leg up, head leaning on the mirror. "Jiu let me use her room. It's much bigger than mine."
You nodded dumbly and felt more awkward with every moment. Sua was stretching her leg impossibly and it was torture to keep your eyes away.
"I-I came here to get my friend's bottle. Umm, I can come back later if you want me to. I mean.. " you took a deep breath. "I don't want to interrupt."
Sua let out a low hum and put her leg down. She turned to you and sized you up with her piercing gaze. It left like the room got suddenly hotter.
"Maybe you can help me?" She suggested with a small smile. You looked at her cluelessly.
"Um, I can try? But.." Sua nodded and motioned you to come closer. You obeyed, because who were you to deny her anything.
"Just pull my leg up as much as you can." She requested simply and put her hand on the wall.
You almost tripped while standing. Guess she didn't consider it awkward, you two knew each other after all and Bora was never the one for shame.
Not wanting to keep her waiting, you carefully put your palm on her knee and put some pressure to bend it upwards. It was a struggle to keep your eyes away respectfully. Especially when Sua kept telling you to keep going.
"Good." She finally stated. "Hold it like this."
You did as she ordered and decided that avoiding looking at her would seem like you were ashamed to properly look at a girl. So you strategically moved your eyes to a safe area that wouldn't make you a pervert. Glancing at her arched back seemed like a safe bet. Just ignore how tight her outfit was.
"Did you like the class?" Sua took you by surprise with a question. You noticed she was staring right at your face in the mirror. Well, you were screwed. "I've never seen you here before."
It took you a minute to compose yourself.
"Yeah, yoga was never my thing. It was my first. Class! My first class." You blurted out like a disaster you were. Bora nodded a little.
"Well, lucky me to be your first. Teacher." You could swear she smirked at you as you blushed furiously and your hold on her leg weakened a bit.
In a blur she was standing on both legs, her face inches from yours. You stood there like a deer in headlights and almost not breathing.
"Maybe you are more of a fitness person." She wondered in a low tone. "It's more dynamic."
"M-maybe." You stuttered.
"So, we will see each other more often?" She inquired in the same tone, her gaze never leaving your eyes. You just nodded mechanically.
"Good." How could a simple word make you feel like that. "I can teach you much more in my class."
"Can't wait." You managed to say and something like approval shined in Sua's eyes. And then she turned around and walked towards the door. Your eyes followed her in awe, everything getting hazy.
"Y/N." Her voice make you snap back to reality. She stood in the door frame, her gaze much more playful. "Don't forget your water."
She winked and slid out to the corridor. You could finally let out a deep breath that you were holding. Sua was right. Yoga wasn't intense enough for you.

Hi I'm back with more questions 💖💖💖 Feel free to answer to them when you want and can ! I wanted to ask how others signs can affects us ? Especially signs of family members or people you see a lot! ( For ex; I don't have air signs in my charts and just a little water signs but my mom is full of air signs (aquarius and gemini) while my dad and lil bro are almost made of only water and air ! )
Hey there! 💕Oof what an interesting question??💕💕 Personally I don’t really know much about familial signs and how it’s passed down ancestrally. I think there’s a few studies going on about it, but as far as I know most seems to point to several similarities a person may have to their parents/ancestors.
In your chart -- there’s indications of your parents, children, neighbors, teachers, boss, friends, acquaintances, siblings, grandparents, in-laws, spouse. Besides the basic ones in the natal chart you can also use ‘derived’ houses to focus in on other people in your life (like clicking an ‘expand’ on a shortened post) -- but rulers of the houses will be important to see ‘what’ is happening there 💕Technically, you can use it to see others. 💕
There’s also the idea of -- your chart essentially being an ‘event chart’ of your parent’s relationship around the time you are conceived at ‘casted’ when you are born (your manifestation). You essentially become an accumulation and ‘internal look’ at what they are going through, what’s transpiring during the phrase you are conceived. And if you have siblings, checking their chart to see what transpired before/after can also help piece things together as well? 💕
On another note -- since the ask is about compatibility between family members -- you can also check aspects between Sun, ASC, Moon, Saturn, Uranus, DSC, IC-MC to see where you all ‘fit’ together and where tension/certain circumstances might lie. 💕
If you Mum/Dad is a certain sign, you can also check which house they rule in your chart and if anything is placed there (or where their rulers are). Aspects to that (i.e. your mum is a Capricorn and you are a Capricorn rising) and also indicate relationship from their side as well perhaps? 💕
Dispositions are important when checking chart rulers cause it can give more details on what’s happening, how, etc. But-- yeah, there’s a lot going on skjdsksk 💕💕
Another thing to note is that the people you grow up with (social conditioning) also tells you what you take on/adapt and prefer in other people as well. I don’t have any strong Leo/Libras in my chart, but my best friend is dominated by those signs because I have Libra in the 11th (friends)
I also have Leo IC in my Draconic Chart -- so the way I would LIKE to be nurtured in my childhood-- I mostly got it from him. I also have Leo Ceres in my Natal -- the way I was conditioned and learnt, knew how to nurture is in a very Leo way.
Growing up with him, I find myself understanding and relating to other Libra/Leos in my life as well.
Looking at your Ceres, Pallas, Juno and Vesta might help. I usually look to them for guidance when it comes to familial matter and also the IC/DC. 4th house and Moon signs, family stuff is included and expand on in astrology so profoundly (as far as I know, but there’s so much I probably can’t include them all in detail in this post).
Synastry between two siblings is just as equally important as synastry between lovers or friends. Because it shows compatibility there and what still has to be worked through in relationships/dynamic between two people (especially with Chiron in 3rd or aspecting Mercury, or Saturn/Pluto somewhere)
Another thing to keep in mind is how limited astrology might be as well when you think about it (like, once you stray past the concrete side of thing).
From our sun signs, our mercury is +/-1 signs away from what our sun is, and our venus is +/-2 signs away from our sun (mars is +/- 4).  If you think about 12 months in a year, and having a family unit of possibly 4 people (you, your mum, dad, one sibling) that generally covers a range of +/-4 signs that can tend to intersect each other just because your sun might share a similarity/difference to someone else already. So it’s personal, but also relatable to others as well.
This is such an interesting ask! 💕 Thank you for sending this in! 💕If I have anything else to add to this, I’ll be sure to make a post/edit it in whenever it pops into my mind! 💕

Of jobs
So many jobs, so little time. What have I been doing with myself.
Resealing leaking hatches. Of all the jobs taken on this year resealing the forward hatch has taken the most time. It would have helped alot to have known the hatch was bolted down before I started, not screwed. To get access to the nuts you have to take down the ceiling lining, including removing the hand rails, then remove the hatch lining. Once it was all apart I sanded back all the woodwork and varnished it with as many coats as I thought I could get away with, then put it all back together with at least half a tube if sikaflex. I think it still leaks!
The sail locker hatch came apart much more easily, there is no ceiling liner in that part of the boat. Much sikaflex, and butyl tape on the bolt heads seems to have got this one done although I still suspect leaks.
I took the foot of the self tackers boom off the deck and rebedded it with butyl tape.
The anchor winch has been dismantled and the lower clutch remachined.
The main anchor chain has been removed from the locker, measured (80m), marked at 10m intervals, and returned to the locker. The bitter end was treated with some anti rust spray.
Both anchor rodes are now all gal shackles and swivels. All shackles have been seized but I might switch to cable ties for that job, particularly as playing with different anchor/chain combinations requires undoing the shackles, which isn't so easy once they have been seized with stainless wire.
Both head sails have been inspected by a sail maker and restitching done where it has flogged out. Toe and head tacks have also been cleaned up.
The sailmaker has also replaced all the clears that were smashed by the hail storm last year, and built me a new mizzen. The old one tore at the leech clew, so I had it repaired, but then it tore again as I was trying to bend it back on. He wasn't so keen to repair it again. The clears need some new studs fitting to the cockpit canopy, which I still have to do. The corrosion in the aluminum frame where the old ones pulled out is quite bad, probably because of the stainless fittings weren't isolated properly.
I fitted a new set of blocks on the self tackers sheet track so that I can control the car from the cockpit. This required jam cleats and guides as well, but I got quite alot of the components second hand so it wasn't too expensive. I came up with this solution after the self tacker flogged the sheet car back and forth along the traveller and blew out the stops and the track end caps, which you can't get anymore for the type of track I have.
More hatch work. The aft cabin hatch wouldn't come apart, even after I took all the head lining down around it. I just could not get the hatch liner to come out, so I though to myself, "How much of this taking to bits regime do I have to force on myself? All the woodwork I had removed I cleaned up and varnished, then I cleaned up the hatch and liner/surround, taped it off and varnished it all in place. Since it didn't seem to leak through the flange, only through one corner of the main seal, and the control gasket, I figured I'd get away with it.
Also, the main cabin has two small hatches, these don't leak either, so I sanded their liners back in situ, and varnished them (3 coats). The big hatch in the main cabin is next, followed by the woodwork at the entry although I've already started this (couldn't help myself). There's also a bit of woodwork under the main sheet traveller which I've started preparing to varnish.
The genoa halyard was replaced, at the same time I ran up a block to the head of the sail so that I could reave a halyard to it for raising the spare genoa onto the same foil for going wing on wing.
I've started work on a solution for preventing halyards from tangling in the mast steps. This will involve climbing both masts at some stage to run light lines up the outside of the steps, then drilling through the steps to fit cable ties (or some such) to hold the line in place.
The steering disconnect control cable has been replaced.
A new topping lift has been installed on the mizzen boom.
The diesel heater has been demystified. After using all the diesel from the header tank last year it's remained empty while I figured out how to top it up again. That required quite a bit of time tracing plumbing and electrical cabling. Eventually I worked out that the "circulation pump" switch on the DC panel also allows the lift pump to top up the tank, provided you open the tap next to the gen set, and pull the switch under the heater. What had me really confused to start with was that I didn't know where the pump was, and the circulation pump is for water through the wet back, so how did the diesel get into the tank? Also, the sight tube was so brown inside that at first I thought it was copper pipe, then once I replaced it I couldn't figure out the tap at the top of the tank. It turned out that the bleed valve you close when you fill the tank so that any overflow goes down the return line, and you open it so as to avoid an airlock when your using the heater. The sight guage is also part of the filling line, which provided another level of confusion, as you can't tell the level in the tank while filling it. You have to turn the pump off and wait for the level to settle. Anyway, it's all good now, really cosy in fact, except that the water circulation doesn't seem to be reaching the heat exchangers fore and aft, but that problem is low on the list.
The saltwater pump for the desk wash down wasn't working too well. I started by replacing the ancient old gross particle filter with a more modern plastic one, but the pump still only runs for about 2 or 3 minutes before petering out. While searching under the rear cabin berth I discovered 2 other pumps in a plastic bag, underneath where the installed pump was. I'm not sure why they were stashed there because they were rubbish, but perhaps they were there to remind me just how long these things last.
I cleaned up alot of mess from under the rear cabin berth, including about half a litre of spilt Dextron. I would like to know where that came from as there were no obvious signs. I also restowed the spare engine parts under there to make room for more personal items in the foot locker, and I worked out a way of rolling the mattress out of the way so that you can get at that area. Previously I had been pulling the mattress off the bed and into the companionway, which was an all around pain. Now I can lift both ends to access a length of webbing which I can use to tie the mattress into a roll.
Rooting around under the stove I discovered that the igniters do have a power source. Ive been using a gas lighter for the last two years. It is only a small AA battery, but it had plenty of life in it so I returned it to its holder and lo, spark ignition!
The chart table chair now slides forward on its track, and locks as designed.
I replaced the broken pin in the track slider that the whisker pole snaps onto with a dowel of hard wood. I've also managed to get a second slider organised, it's pretty rough, but you have to have one if you want to wing on wing the headsails. Now I just need to free up the seized pin in the spare whisker pole, and work out how to get the spare slider onto the mast track.
I took the main compass off the binnacle, thinking that perhaps I'd better inspect and oil the engine control lines. There was a fair bit of corrosion in the compass mount as the screws where stainless through aluminium. I have an idea to replace the whole control panel at some stage. The compass is a bit of an anachronism these days but I'm not sure if I should toss it out. The depth guage is so old it uses vacuum tubes to display the numbers, but it does work. The GPSs screen has burnt out, although the unit still works! The wind indicator panel is fine, although it only gives apparent wind at the moment, however, the wind speed sensor is unreliable. Since it is also an ancient unit (despite being self powered and wireless) you can't get parts for it. When I climb the mast to do the step protector job I'll have to take it down and figure out what I can do with it. I really would like to have a completely wireless system of wind speed and direction, hull speed, depth and sea temp coming through to a couple of guages by the wheel, and also to the computer and any other device that can use the data, like iSailor and OpenCPN.
I was dissappointed with the amount of power the vacuum cleaner gets through. It's almost as bad as the microwave. When you pull 100 amps from the battery bank the voltage drops very quickly, and puts the batteries under stress. Two minutes of vacuuming will do it. I did discover that besides running the battery charger part of the inverter, the gen set will also power all the 120V sockets, when it's running. This was a surprise as I was under the impression that the gen set only recharged the battery bank. Now I know I can run all the 120V equipment on the boat I like, provided I put up with the gen set running.
I have discovered the trick to the 2hp outboard! It has always been a problem for me, so much so the I stopped using it for quite a while. Even after dealing with getting water in the carburettor all the time it still ran unreliably, usually quitting after having only run for 50m. After some considerable time putting up with it, it became apparent that it was fuel starvation. If I tilted the motor up when it was just about to die, it would fire up again for another 5m. Looking into the fuel tank one day I discovered that the inlet pipe sat up off the bottom of the tank by a good 2-3cm. With the angle of the transom on the dinghy, plus the inlet pipe being on the high side of the tank you only have to run the tank down about a third before she starts sucking air. Unfortunately you can't level the motor off as the fitting adjustment as rusted up solid. Never mind, atleast I know now that you just have to keep the tank topped up.

Hi! 💙 I hope your are doing well. Congrats on the article. The reading will probably be okay. Are you a fast or slow reader? I read rather slowly, especially if I'm enjoying what I'm reading. It sticks with me better that way, but it takes me longer to do things. 😅 My semester ends next week, then have finals period. l'm taking Summer courses tho to get ahead. I get what you mean. I don't party, but around TH and F there's a certain restlessness about some of the students to drink/part. (Pt 1)
Ugh, I hate group work. 😐 Best of luck to you. Maybe your for a decent group. Anyway, I prefer morning courses. I get up at an obnoxiously early time to attend though. I’m fine with it though because it lets me take my courses in a block with out breaks, so once I’m done, I’ll be done for the day. 😥 Probably an unpopular schedule though. Oh, so My Immortal can actually be constructive to writers. That makes sense. It’s what a writer shouldn’t ever do. About JK, I think it’s an attempt (pt 2)(pt 3) Lowkey don’t recall my train of thought..Anyway, wow, I definitely agree with your statements about Lena knowing Kara’s dual identity. Snapper knowing wouldn’t help anything, since he’s too minor a character to do anything useful with information. Lena knowing would create more depth, tension, plot possibilities etc., which is why’d it would be a shame for her to be left in the dark. Also, I feel her not knowing (or at least theorizing Kara’s supergirl) is ooc. I suppose the writers– –haven’t had an issue with that based on what they’ve done to Alex. :-/ Hmph. I’m still so annoyed about that. Partially, because I’m a SuperCorp shipper, but mainly because it’s an insult to Alex’s personality to force her to advocate on Mon El’s behalf. Who was your favorite character from S1, btw? I’d probably go with Kara, but for S2 it’s definitely Lena. Anyway, yes Lena looks so amazing in the trailer! Heh, I intended it to be a soft FMK…I was going to make it all Katie, but wasn’t–(4)–words, words, something, but wasn’t going to be that cruel to you. (Hopefully that fit with my previous thing). Smh, you’ve no qualms though do you? ;-) I’m kidding. Your answers were well thought out…even though you didn’t kill anyone. I can’t blame you though. I don’t think Red K! Kara is all that bad, but she’s definitely intimidating, so is Kate. Anyway, let’s see FMK: Lena, Morgana, and Kate… :-/ 3 M'kay, that’s hard, especially since I love them all and ship SuperCorp. (5 TBC)–words, words, something, but wasn’t going to be that cruel to you. (Hopefully that fit with my previous thing). Smh, you’ve no qualms though do you? ;-) I’m kidding. Anyway, let’s see FMK: Lena, Morgana, and Kate… :-/ 3 M'kay, that’s hard, especially since I love them all and ship SuperCorp. (5 TBC)(6) Uh, let’s see. I’m going to assume they are all brought to current times, so the 21st century. I would marry Morgana. You know what? I’d marry Morgana S1 or S5 because I’ve so many emotions for her and what she went through. I’d want her to know someone would be on (*cough* and by *cough*) her side. Also, she has magic that’s cool, but not the point. I don’t really want Supergirl to kill me or be sad. I wouldn’t kill Lena as of now; she’s not done anything wrong. Also, her company is (TBC)(8?) So, yes: M:Morgana, F: Lena, K: Kate. Hmm, I see yours and raise you: FMK: Lucy, she’s a vampire now but has some control over it | Kara Danvers, more so S1 in personality, but she’s still elects to become a reporter and encourages you | Lena, before she met Kara and is still learning to be a CEO…I guess that’s a younger!Lena? Idk. Okay, that should work. I hope you have a good day and night. Do you read comics? I don’t, but was curious if you did. U seem to know some lore. :-)
Heyyy! I’m not so sure I’m a fast or slow reader, it depends on my state of mind, if I take my meds and external interruptions. Usually I can read pretty fast if it’s something I’m interested in but I tend to miss things and have to read it again, with school things I’m the worst. I still have things from last year that I never got around to read and one of them was about superman (I miss studying cinema because we could have an entire class about superman and co and then write fanfiction of the world as an activity). We don’t have summer classes here, that sounds interesting, it’d be nice to get ahead, also it’s about to be winter here so after July we’ll get maybe a month off and then it’s back to being unresponsible adults. I’ve nothing against drinking and partying, I like drinking (parties are usually weird but sometimes it’s cool) but don’t freaking leave class to do it, go after the class, how disrespectful is it to leave the poor teacher there waiting 20 minutes to see if the rest of the class will show up or they’ll have to do with six or seven people? Also you pay over 1.000 bucks a month to study and you don’t give a shit about being in class? it’s throwing money away and it’s disrespectful to whoever is paying school, even if that someone is yourself. I’m not those kids that say you should only do what’s right and never skip class never drink or do anything because you have to study instead of throwing your life away. But school is expensive and respect is something you should have for everyone (unless someone is a jerk, because it’s not murder if the person is a jerk…jk)
I never liked studying in the mornings but it’s sort of better, however, my classes only exist at night, there is morning journalism classes, but it’s in another neighborhood and we have to cross the bridge and there’s no cool campus. I like my campus.
group projects are the worst. They end friendships, they end marriages, they end happiness, they lead to murder… it’s never fun. I always imagine that scene with the guy getting pizza and coming back to the place on fire and people bleeding, or that one from Mean Girls with the fighting over Aaron Samuels in animal style. Those are the only representations of group projects that are realistic.
I love how you just started to talk about JK, had two words in and
Honestly Alex has been so ooc this season it’s almost sad. No offense to Sanvers, but I think even that relationship is a bit ooc. Not the fact that there is a relationship but how it is being handled. Not gonna go into it cuz I don’t want to rant here. but I would ship Sanvers if they had put a bit more of effort into getting them together not ‘I don’t want a baby gay rn, so let’s be friends. PSYCHE I just got shot in the most harmless area of my entire body, let's make out!’
The same Alex that thought James wasn’t good enough for Kara and decked Maxwell Lord for existing would never make excuses for someone that is basically the dumb alien version of Lord with worse hair and more aggression and more pretending to be a #goodguy who’s just trying so hard and changed because after 9 months on earth as a grown man he decided to read a book, feed himself and clean his own mess… or pretend to clean his own mess while Kara actually does it and he just sits there and says she’s annoying because she doesn’t want to run away from her problems. (hey look, ranting… she said with surprise in her voice for some reason)
My favorite character was definitely Cat… and Kara. Both at the same time, I can’t choose between them, please don’t make me. and now it’s Lena… and still Kara even though she’s basically dead inside and that girl who cries because her boyfriend is moving away and it will destroy her life because that person she knows nothing about and met 9 months ago when he tried to kill her and has been lying to her and shoving her self-esteem down ever since is apparently the most important person in her life and she can’t live without him. he cooked her breakfast so he can’t move away and face his responsibilities, she’s the best thing he’s ever known, not person, thing. That woman in the best thing… god, this is so gross I cannot continue even to joke about this. so yeah, Kara is SUPER ooc this season, but I still love her and have faith she will recover from this terrible illness and come back to us, I miss her.
Yes! I would totally still marry Morgana even season 5 Morgana. poor thing just needs a hug and a friend to tell her she’s not a monster for being born different. I might start crying now so I’ll change topics.
Definitely Marry Kara, no questions asked. Fuck Lena because, I mean, just look at her. And Kill Lucy, my poor bby, but she’s a vampire so she has to go, control or not, ‘vegetarian’ vampires are dumb.
I do read comics, not as much as I’d like, but I also watched all of the DC cartoons (minus Legion because it looks dumb) most of Smallville and Lois & Clark and when I want to know some more I read about the storylines and all, like even when I don’t read the comic itself, I read about the comic. I won’t say I know all about everything, but I can hold my ground, I guess, I’m also not above admitting I don’t know/haven’t read enough about one subject/character and reading about that on one of the sites I trust. Also watched a lot of Marvel cartoons and most of the movies aaaand I read a lot of Marvel comics, specially Balck Widow, Hawkeye, and Young Avengers.
Did you watch any superhero cartoons? They were a pretty big deal in the 90′s and early 2000′s.
Hope you have a great day and night 💙😊
