Kunkuri Church, is the 2nd Largest Catholic Church in Asia. It can accommodate around 10,000 worshipers, together & is located in Kunkuria tehsil in Jashpur district. (CHHATTISGARH ) Spread over an area of 3,400 square feet, this church is the largest in the country, the second largest in Asia. The largest church in Asia is in Nagaland. Presently, Kunkuri is the tehsil headquarters of Jashpur district. At Christmas, not only from the country but also from abroad people reach here and pray to the Lord. The foundation stone of Kunkuri Church was laid in 1962. It took only two years to get its foundation ready, which was completed in 1964. Construction of this Mahagirja Ghar was completed in 1979 and was released in 1982. The number 7 is considered important in the Catholic community, there are also 7 days in a week, the 7th day is the day of the Lord. The church has 7 roofs. It all rests on the same bim. According to church management, it shows that God has taken care of all human beings. The church is semicircular in shape. It is like the outstretched arms of God, calling all humans to himself.
