www.timezones.it

Omega Radio’s Autumn broadcasting season has finally come to a close. But most importantly, we hit an ultimate milestone as tonight marks the end of ten diverse years on WUSB. Before wrapping things up in 2022, we air our annual ‘second-chance’ showcase. As we audition a limitless amount of finds throughout the year, some artists, sounds, and ideas didn’t fit our usual deluxe broadcasts. Now, our last remaining favorites have their shine all to their own.
We have done everything imaginable during our busiest year on WUSB. Winners of 2021, holiday and milestone shows, label tributes, double-headers and double-deluxe shows, weekly bonus broadcasts, the introduction of Japan and riot-grrrl musicks, and our busiest broadcasting summer and twelve months on the air. It’s all what made Year Ten our most ambitious and memorable one ever. We thank every one of our local and worldwide listeners, followers, and supporters of all things Omega through everything we’ve ever done.
Year 11 is on the way and we’re more than ready to uphold WUSB’s mission statement of showcasing diverse sounds and artists not heard on the regular. From the new, current, and relevant to the rare and unheard of, there’s no plans of stopping. See you next month.

De Algemene Verwarring #77 - 5 September 2022
The seventy-seventh episode of De Algemene Verwarring was broadcast on Monday September 5, 2022, and you can listen to it by clicking on the Mixcloud widget below. And if that does not work, here’s the direct link to the Mixcloud page:

Pictured below is Göteborg superband Amateur Hour. Appetite Records recently released the new double album from the band, called “Krökta Tankar & Brända Vanor”, and reissues from their first two albums, so I finally got my hands on their much sought after debut album. The new double album though, is nothing less than amazIng. I really don’t know any other band that sounds like Amateur Hour. It’s an incredible mix between sad bubblegum pop music and industrial noise, and without drums, maybe here and there some percussion on the background, but that’s it. The pop touch comes from Hugo Randulv, known from Skiftande Enheter, Typical Girls and Enhet För Fri Musik, the noise is signature Dan Johansson (Neutral, Sewer Election, Enhet) en the ethereal vocals from Julia Bjernelind (Typical Girls) sound like Liz Fraser with a depression. Yes it’s sad music probably, but it gives me a happy heart. I played the track “Feel My Loneliness” on the show, and you’ll hear more of them in future shows without any doubt. There’s some more new music from Neutrals, Fake Indians, Gee Tee Vee, and Blod, and classics from Wipers, Clockcleaner, The Dirtbombs, and more! And beneath the photo you can find the playlist for this show. Enjoy!
