"Austin, Mexico City, São Paulo, Las Vegas, Abu Dhabi. Any preference?"

Lando’s voice was drowned out by the celebratory air coursing through McLaren Hospitality. He was calling from his driver room in Lusail, still soaked in champagne after a phenomenal comeback drive.

“I think you’ve earned the right to pick. My God, three podiums in a row, Lando!”

You squealed, as if you weren’t speaking to the very man who had accomplished this feat.

After a quick pause, he replied, “Vegas, it is then. I think I can secure seats on Air Verstappen if I use my charm.”

Max, the first of Lando's friends you’d been introduced to, extended his hand as you stepped onboard.

"So, this is 'airport girl.' I've heard quite a bit about you," he said, stealing glances at a blushing Lando.

You shook his hand. "Only good things, I hope."

The setting sun painted the cabin a soft orange as dinner was served, seamlessly shifting the conversation toward plans for the weekend. "Are we still up for padel on Friday?" Max asked, the anticipation evident in his voice.

"We're short a player. Jon busted his shoulder last week, so I'm in need of an alternate," Lando replied.

Max gestured towards you. "She's right next to you, mate."

Mid-bite, you wagged your finger at both Max and Lando. Racket sports weren’t your forte, and the idea of padel with ragingly competitive Formula 1 drivers made you queasy.

You’d assumed the 12-hour flight had been long enough for Lando to let go of the whole idea. He, however, promptly proved you wrong as he lifted your bags into the back of a blacked-out Escalade.

“Remember that book you were reading? The one about love languages?” You nodded, climbing into the car.

“Well, I figure my love language is quality time. And what better way to spend our time than with a game of padel?”

You hesitated, jokingly glaring at him. "I never thought that book was going to come back and bite me in the ass.”

“Karma is your boyfriend,” he whispered as he laced his fingers around yours.

The casual mention of "boyfriend" (and his general knowledge of Taylor Swift lyrics) caught you off guard and, as your heart raced, you made a desperate effort to maintain composure. You couldn’t possibly say no to his desperate gaze and, so with a loud sigh, you caved.

The days that followed felt more like a haze. DJ Lando stole the show at Omnia, carrying a wasted Oscar home in the aftermath. Golfer Lando took you to glow-in-the-dark mini-golf, subsequently blaming his loss on a lack of practice (“You should see me at my best”). F1 Lando gave you a little peck before disappearing into the media pen. You’d been so engrossed in it all that you were on the padel court before you knew it.

As the points went back and forth, you and Lando found yourselves in a playful dispute over who was the rightful owner of the five dollars you’d won at the slots. Lando had paid but you had pushed the button that had brought you sweet victory.

Max quickly interjected, "Maybe you two should save the bickering for the post-game press conference."

George, echoing Max, teased, "He’s got a point. Beware or you’ll be immortalized as a sassy TikTok sound.”

“You know, I’m here to fight. I’m here to win.” Lando said, taunting George as he prepared to serve.

Much to everyone’s surprise, you and Lando turned out to be a stellar team, securing a hard-fought win. Instead of the traditional champagne spray, you spritzed a sweaty Lando with your perfume.

"I smell like you now," he said with a smirk.

You caught your breath on a bench as George strutted over, towering over you.

"You’re already on his mind 24/7. Now, you want to linger on his clothes too? Greedy!"

As you and Lando were about to head back to the car, a few fans hurried over, their elation palpable.

“We’re huge fans, Lando. Could we get a quick photo before you go?”

Lando was quick to oblige and asked you to hold their gifts (a snapback and a handful of bracelets). You offered to take photos of him with the girls, his aura radiant as he took his time to thank each of them.

Little did either of you know, the photos of you and him at the padel courts would soon be circulating all over social media, your phones blowing up with notifications from countless F1 gossip accounts.

In the dim glow of the car's interior, you caught a glimpse of him, jaw clenched and a hint of vulnerability in his eyes. The not-so-soft hum of the engine roared as you cut through the tension.

"Hey, what’s on your mind?"

"I just never want you to feel suffocated by all the noise that comes with being my girlfriend."

"Your girlfriend?" you teased, masking your anticipation with feigned innocence.

He sighed, his hands momentarily tightening on the steering wheel. The car smoothly veered into an old gas station, its solitary lights flickering in the night.

He turned to face you, his eyes searching yours. "Will you be my girlfriend?"

A smile lit up your face. "I thought I already was.”

He shook his head, a mixture of exasperation and affection on his face. "You truly are impossible, y’know."

"Snap a picture of your girl then, Mr. JPG," you quipped.

His hands searched the backseat for his Leica.

"Happy wife, happy life.”

Joseph suivait avec son chariot et disposait les cols choisis avec science. Jamais une de brisée ! – Oui, les vins... et les champagne, et les liqueurs pour ces dames ! Vous savez, Monsieur le Comte, le moment le plus émouvant c’était quand toute les familles du domaine, les fermiers, les métayers, les ouvriers des ateliers de Monsieur Charles et même certains journaliers, se rassemblaient dans la cour d’honneur, neige ou pas. – Combien pouvions-nous être alors ? Une cinquantaine ? – C’est monté à plus de quatre-vingt, Monsieur le Comte. – Le discours toujours bienveillant de mon père, ma grand-mère distribuant des babioles aux plus jeunes enfants, l’archevêque qui venait bénir tout le monde, même les communistes ! – Il y avait encore du respect de ce temps, Monsieur le Comte. Hier soir pour fêter la "faim d'année", les @champagnedevignerons ont créé leur Bingo des Caractères ! Chaque réveillon a son ambiance, son menu, ses petits rituels... Bref, tous ces précieux instants qui deviendront des souvenirs à chérir et à partager.

Alors, entre deux flûtes de champagne, deux bouchées, ou deux "blagues de Papa", nous avons fait un petit jeu et avons complété nos grilles, pour découvrir quel est le caractère du champagne que j'ai ouvert pour l'apéritif.

I am going to re-read the whole story at once and give some proper thoughts about how brilliant I thought everything was at a later date. Je pourrais dessiner de mémoire la maison de mère-grand et son jardin, le poulailler et le potager. Le poèle, la poupée, immense, de fête foraine assise sur le lit, les fleurs du poirier dans les bouteilles en verre, le clou pour accrocher les lapins, le buisson de groseilles à maquereaux, la lessiveuse où on prenait le bain au soleil, les couleurs des fleurs. Celle de grand-mère aussi, le verger, le tonneau à chou, la chambre mystère, le grenier caverne d'Ali Baba, les photos figées portraits des aïeux sur les murs, la cuisine et la chaise où debout je l'aidais à faire les tartes, les floucs, les boulettes de riz. Les parfums de cancoillotte, de prune, de spaetzles, de saucisses et de jambons qui sèchent dans la cave.

La colline de mon enfance, défi à vélo pour mes petites jambes, ma mère disparaissait quand j'arrivais en haut, cachée par les hautes herbes. Frayeur d'un instant de ne pas la retrouver au virage suivant, toute petite dans sa robe à fleurs, la main en visière pour mieux me suivre.

La plage du Touquet, les embruns, l'immensité, la froideur de l'eau, les algues, la vitesse de mon char à voile, le ciel qui se confond avec la mer, mon épuisette et mon panier à crabes. Le bar de Stella plage, le picon bière et le mini golf. Ce bleu délavé dans les dunes. Et l'acreté grasse des barraques à frites.

New York et le vertige, le bruit des rues, des gens, la musique qui dégueule des énormes postes sur les épaules, les lumières partout, le spectacle à Broadway, les taxis jaunes, les street food mustard and ketchup, la foule bigarrée et pressée, ce ciel qu'on cherche en se tordant le cou, les ascenseurs qui n'en finissent pas de monter, les policiers à cheval. La démesure.

La costa Brava, les churros, le pan con tomato, le sable brûlant de l'après-midi et la mer d'huile au petit matin. La course de catamaran, le sel sur ma peau brunie, le sexe dans les criques. Les nuits fauves, le rhum coca, le petit village dans la montagne et le bain de minuit.

Granville et la chambre blanche. Le port, la vieille ville, le marché. La plage et le casino de Saint pair sur mer. Le silence et le vent d'octobre, la chaleur douce du mois d'avril. La solitude, le secret et le désir.

Nantes, l'île aux machines. Un éléphant géant de métal qui marche et crache de l'eau. Des spritz et un anniversaire, un parc, des sculptures, une manifestation, des rires, des merveilleux et du champagne. Des graffitis, des maisons colorées, des succulentes.

Il y en a tant des lieux.

Ce qu'il reste des lieux, c'est la vie.

Le Crazy Horse

Voici sans conteste le plus célèbre cabaret de Paris ! Antre du glamour et du burlesque, ses spectacles charment et enchantent depuis plus de 70 ans.

En 1951, Alain Bernardin achète les caves d'un immeuble haussmannien, au n°12 de la très chic avenue George V, afin d'ouvrir un saloon d'inspiration "western". Deux ans plus tard, un premier spectacle de strip-tease à l'américaine y est donné. Présentant des nus partiels, les recettes sont alors reversées à la Fondation Abbé Pierre. Chaque soir, le cabaret permet également à des artistes plus traditionnels de s'y représenter, tels que des magiciens, des ventriloques, mais aussi des chanteurs, au rang desquels un certain Charles Aznavour. Le fondateur, également directeur artistique, donne un nom de scène à chaque danseuse, tradition perdurant aujourd'hui. Certaines devinrent célèbres, comme Lova Moor (qui épousa le maître des lieux), Polly Underground (dont le bar du Crazy Horse porte désormais le nom), ou encore Miss Candida et son fameux bain, inspirant Dita Von Teese quelques cinquante ans plus tard... Dans les années 60, les danseuses commencent à être habillées de lumière, dans une scénographie originale reconnue dans le monde entier. La fréquentation se développe avec l'essor du tourisme, puis explose à partir de 1968, suite au premier numéro de nu intégral. De nombreux artistes participent au prestige de ce que les initiés commencent à nommer tout simplement le "Crazy": Dalí crée son canapé en forme de bouche carmine, le sculpteur César réalise son "Sein" en bronze, d'après le moulage d'un sein d’une des danseuses...

Le succès ne se démentira jamais, attirant au fil des décennies de nombreuses personnalités, d'Elvis Presley à Giscard d'Estaing, dont certaines participeront même parfois au spectacle, comme David Lynch, créant le numéro "Fetish", Christian Louboutin, chaussant depuis 2012 les "Crazy-girls", ou Chantal Thomass, recréant la lingerie des danseuses en 2016... Des "guest-stars" de renom s'y produisent aussi parfois: Pamela Anderson et Arielle Dombasle se donnent en spectacle sur scène, tout comme la comédienne Clotilde Coureau, la mannequin Noémie Lenoir, la chanteuse transgenre Conchita Wurst, ou encore, à plusieurs reprises, une certaine Dita Von Teese... La boucle est bouclée !

Après 18 mois de fermeture liée au Covid, au cours de laquelle le cabaret a été rénové et réaménagé de fond en comble, le "Crazy" rouvre ses portes, avec nouvelle enseigne à la bouche devenue iconique, hall feutré à la moquette rose, escaliers avec moulages de seins sur les murs, antichambre aux rayures rappellant le saloon d'origine, toilettes pop (avec urinoirs en forme de bouche chez les messieurs), cabine téléphonique mystérieuse... Et bien sûr la salle de spectacle, avec alcôves privatisables et fauteuils pour couples du meilleur aloi, surtout avec un guéridon recevant un seau à champagne griffé "Crazy Horse"!

Le nouveau spectacle, "Totally Crazy!", alterne les numéros des danseuses (et d'un danseur, tout de même !), avec interludes chantés par l'artiste belge Georges Bangable, en un show ininterrompu d'une heure trente, dans la plus pure tradition du cabaret. On y découvre de véritables morceaux de bravoure, comme ce fameux "But I'm a good girl", créé ici-même par la danseuse et chanteuse Madeleine Harper, ayant inspiré le personnage incarné par Christina Aguilera dans le film Burlesque, sorti en 2010. Au Crazy Horse, le corps féminin trouve son plus bel écrin, les cambrures et les poitrines (critères de sélection des danseuses), sont magnifiquement mis en valeur par des jeux de lumière du plus bel effet, les chorégraphies très inventives époustouflent, les perruques à la frange (représentatives de l'image de marque) virevoltent par-dessus les faux-cils et les lèvres rouge sang, les talons-aiguilles claquent sur la scène au rythme d'une musique toujours de bon goût, les meilleurs génériques de James Bond semblent y prendre vie... 

Au "Crazy", l'érotisme n'est jamais vulgaire, car Erato y a rencontré Terpsichore et Thalie.

The woman had coffee ready-made in the morning and kept in a pot -jar pour la fraîcheur - she made it by pouring over at least ¼ a litre full of coffee a litre of boiling water (a litre is about an English pint) thro’ a strainer - the café au lait  was very good-  then saw the handsome cathedral - the monument in the choir to the memory of the dauphin and dauphiness  father and mother of Louis 16, very fine - worthy of being the chef d’ oeuvre of Couston - In the carriage again and off at 4 40 – Sens is a nice little village - chiefly one good long street thro’ which we passed terminated by 2 belles portes de ville the country around agreeable, closed in by a beautifully shaped range of limestone or chalk hill beautifully covered with corn and vine and pretty well wooded - soon see the Yonne a broad shallow stream (here and there reeds peeping up in the very middle of it) flowing thro’ a fine valley - the vine [clouded] woody hills with stripes of corn, very pretty - very pretty drive from Sens to  Villeneuve Leroy [Villaneuve-le-roi] – a little ville,  much smaller than Sens but with 2 ports de ville, as at Sens - At Joigny at 7 10 – beautiful drive long the fine valley at Yonne all the way from Sens to Joigny  -we had a most agreeable shady drive, chiefly thro’ the forest from Chailly to Fontainebleau and partly thro’ the forest from F- to Fossard a nice little town – ordered dinner at Joigny (hotel des 5 mineurs in the faubourg on this side the 7 arched handsome over the Yonne stone bridge) and  Miss W- and  I walked back into the town and up the steep narrow streets to the church not very large but remarkable for its very lofty nave - the chateau was destroyed in the 1st revolution - then walked along the pretty elm shaded public promenade along the river - (soldiers at drill on the ground near it) - out 50 minutes and pretty good dinner at 8 35 - had our bottle of Champagne we brought from my cave rue St. Victor - wants drinking - very fine day – F72° at 10 35 pm

Harvested and distilled in 1992, this cognac was matured in French brand new loose grain oak casks, in a cool damp cellar. At the first sight, a very pretty luminous golden amber color. Appetizing flavors on the nose with notes of butterscotch, vanilla, ripe peach and candied orange. Rich and powerful on the palate, notes of caramelized orange and Mexican vanilla (currants, cocoa). Notre histoire est celle de femmes et d’hommes qui, au fil du temps, ont façonné ce sol de l’Auxerrois, dans le nord de la Bourgogne viticole, où nos vignes prennent racine. Ce terroir à la fois dur et généreux, qui jouit depuis un temps immémorial d’une très grande réputation, nous a unis.

Labours, décavaillonnage, plantations, taille pendant l’hiver… les soixante-dix familles de vignerons sont toute l’année à la vigne pour faire en sorte que les raisins atteignent la plus belle expression et la plus belle maturité possibles. Au printemps et en été, ils rognent et essoumassent (en enlevant les bourgeons des vieux bois, afin de ne pas fatiguer inutilement la vigne). À la fin de l’été, ils vendangent manuellement et “portent” leurs raisins aux caves Bailly Lapierre, cette entreprise qu’ils ont créée ensemble.

.

Héritiers d’une longue tradition vigneronne, ils se sont unis en 1972 et ont alors, avec d’autres, porté le projet de création d’une Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) “Crémant de Bourgogne”. Le décret fut publié en octobre 1975, couronnant ainsi leurs efforts. La première appellation Crémant (avec celle des vignerons de la Loire) était née en France.

Depuis, ils n’ont de cesse de progresser dans leur métier, à la vigne et dans le chai, pour élaborer des vins de plus en plus purs, équilibrés, ciselés… qui soient la noble expression de ce terroir si original.

Our story is that of women and men who, over time, have shaped the soil of Auxerrois, in the north of wine-growing Burgundy, where our vines take root.  This terroir, both hard and generous, which has enjoyed a great reputation since time immemorial, has united us.

Plowing, stripping, planting, pruning during the winter… the seventy families of winegrowers are in the vineyard all year round to ensure that the grapes reach the best possible expression and maturity.  In spring and summer, they trim and stump (removing buds from old wood, so as not to unnecessarily strain the vine).  At the end of the summer, they harvest manually and “carry” their grapes to the Bailly Lapierre cellars, this company they created together.

Heirs to a long winemaking tradition, they united in 1972 and then, with others, carried out the project of creating an Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) “Crémant de Bourgogne”.  The decree was published in October 1975, thus crowning their efforts.  The first Crémant appellation (with that of the Loire winegrowers) was born in France.

Since then, they have continued to progress in their profession, in the vineyard and in the cellar, to produce increasingly pure, balanced, chiseled wines... which are the noble expression of this so original terroir.

Aratura, diraspatura, impianto, potatura invernale… le settanta famiglie di viticoltori sono in vigna tutto l'anno per far sì che le uve raggiungano la migliore espressione e maturità possibile.  In primavera e in estate si tagliano e ceppano (rimuovendo i germogli dal legno vecchio, in modo da non affaticare inutilmente la vite).  Alla fine dell'estate, vendemmiano manualmente e “portano” le loro uve alle cantine Bailly Lapierre, questa azienda che hanno creato insieme.

Eredi di una lunga tradizione enologica, si sono uniti nel 1972 e poi, con altri, hanno portato avanti il ​​progetto di creare una Denominazione d'Origine Controllata (AOC) “Crémant de Bourgogne”.  Il decreto fu pubblicato nell'ottobre 1975, coronando così il loro impegno.  La prima denominazione Crémant (con quella dei viticoltori della Loira) nasce in Francia.
