 PUMA and Lola Plaku, music industry power player and Lola Media Group CEO exclusive PUMA Nova GRL PWR is out now!
The pack will be available for purchase on PUMA.com and in select stores worldwide. This is Lola’s first sneaker release as part of PUMA’s Co-creative platform. “Lola is known for spearheading a mission to empower young women, and this partnership pays tribute to her efforts with a Nova sneaker pack aptly titled GRL PWR,” says Yassine Saidi, PUMA’s Senior Head of Select. “Lola inspires others to create change and push culture forward, making her the perfect co-creator of the new Nova.”
Designed by Lola, the Nova GRL PWR shoe has a bold, 90’s inspired silhouette, rendered with a slim mesh upper with leather overlays and vibrant color blocking. Lola chose distinct color palettes for the sneaker, dropping in two colorways, Black–Surf the Web and Peach Bud–Pearl Blush. With GRL PWR branding on the heel tab, the look is finished with a lace closure system. A natural trendsetter, the GRL PWR woman embraces her feminine side while still valuing the comfort and street style swag that compliments her active lifestyle. 
Lola shares, “This campaign is truly about building self-esteem and creating a platform for self-discovery, growth and empowerment. Girls and women should believe they can be anything they want to be.” Having forged her own path in the male-dominated music industry, Lola is passionate about paving the way for other women by fostering career development. The narrative behind the Nova GRL PWR shoe aligns with her GIRL CONNECTED mentorship program, which will pair aspiring female professionals with her industry colleagues to learn the various aspects of the music business (A&R, creative, marketing, etc.) Last year, Lola hosted GIRL CONNECTED events in London, Atlanta and Toronto in partnership with WeWork and also hosted two events at the NYU Clive Davis Institute in New York City. The full GIRL CONNECTED program will launch later this year. In March, Lola will release her second PUMA Nova iteration and will also be a featured speaker at the annual SXSW Conference in Austin, Texas.
Featured in the campaign-directed by Lola Plaku are Bambii Azan, Enisa, Lauren Ledford and Marz Lovejoy, shot by photographers Jay Jackson (@younginwithacanon) and Lexis Rother (@ro.lexx), and styled by Bobby Bowen.

Lola Plaku x PUMA Co-Creator Collab
To launch Lola Plaku’s PUMA collaboration of two separate releases and four total colorways for the new Nova silhouette, I worked with Lola Media Group as project manager and producer to execute the music mogul’s vision of a female-forward, empowering campaign. This consisted of campaign ideation to onset production, including overseeing all aspects of the GRL PWR and GRL BOSS shoots, from casting to set design.

Como parte de la plataforma co-creative de PUMA, la marca mundial de deporte se une a Lola Plaku, una de las figuras más importantes en la industrial musical y CEO de la compañía Lola Media Group, para la creación de las nuevas zapatillas deportivas PUMA Nova GRL PWR.
Se trata de la primera colaboración de Lola Plaku con la plataforma co-creative de la marca. Lola es conocida por empoderar a las mujeres jóvenes y esta asociación rinde homenaje a sus esfuerzos a través de las nuevas Nova y su acertado nombre GRL PWR, dice Yassine Saidi, Senior Head de PUMA Select. Lola inspira a otras mujeres al cambio y a impulsar la cultura, lo que la convierte en la perfecta co-creadora de las nuevas Nova.
Diseñadas por Lola, las zapatillas PUMA Nova GRL PWR presentan un estilo voluminoso y atrevido, inspirado en los años 90, con un upper con capas de cuero y un vibrante colorblock. En cuanto a la gama de colores, Lola seleccionó dos combinaciones: ‘Black/Surf the Web’ y ‘Peach Bud/Pearl Blush’. Con la marca GRL PWR en la pestaña del talón, el look se completa con un sistema de cierre de cordones.
  Sobre su colaboración, Lola comentó: “Esta campaña trata de reforzar la autoestima y crear una plataforma para el autodescubrimiento, el crecimiento y el empoderamiento femenino. Las chicas y las mujeres deben creer que pueden ser lo que quieran ser”.
Tras haber forjado su propio camino en la industria musical, a Lola le apasiona poder allanar para otras mujeres. La narrativa detrás del lanzamiento de las nuevas PUMA Nova GRL PWR va en línea con su programa de tutoría GIRL CONNECTED, que unirá a aspirantes a desarrollar su labor profesional en el mundo de la música con sus colegas de la industria para aprender los diversos aspectos del negocio (A&R, creatividad, marketing, etc.). She is an inspiration to myself along with all the other women in the industry. She works her ass off, excels at what she does, and is still THE sweetest person in the midst of it all.
