FINALLY WATCHED MK 2021
So a few things
I did not cry. Im sry but it was prolly the pacing of the movie cuz it was a little too fast, or because my brother’s asleep and it’s 2am and i’m not supposed to be loud, but i did not cry (uuu internally i did but im sad that i didnt cry). However i did feel hyped especially at the ending :D
LIU KANG RAGGHHH HE’S SO FUCKEN BABEY. I LOVE HIM. I WANNA RUFFLE HIS HAIR AND SQUEEZ HIS CHEEKS URHRHHRHGGG. HE DESERVES ALL THE HUGS IN THE WORLD‼️‼️
The shaolin boiss!! Love them. Kung Lao really said “skill issue” 😭😭 i’m just gonna casually steal that. Liu joining in was the icing on the cake
there’s a next movie coming if i remember correctly? Anyway, i’m looking forward to that as well ueueueu
Love how Kano’s portrayed here. His banter with the others was funny for a while but as the movie progressed, I got a little too immersed and the second hand embarrassment kicked in 😭
I love the idea that Cole’s just standing there while Hanzo’s talking to him in Japanese like “yeah i totally got that (did not understand a single word he said).” It doesn’t really mention that he can understand it soo yep
I FINALLY GET WHAT ONE OF THE REBLOGS ON THE GRASSHOPPER POST WHEN THEY SAID SOMETHING LIKE “(in tears remembering mk21)” THE FUCKING HEADBAND RAHH
Can Kung Lao be brought back as a revenant, pls? I’m under the impression that Bi-han will come back as Noob Saibot, so if that can happen but Revenant Kung Lao can’t, I’m gone
Overall, a solid 9/10 for me. Minus 1 because of the pacing. Again, I’m looking forward to the next :0

Mortal Kombat 2021 spoilers under the cut.
For real though, I will be talking about this entire movie as a whole.
I’m assuming this was set during the Mortal Kombat 1-era, right?
It’s funny, because I did not expect Mileena, Nitara, Reiko and Kabal there! Too bad they got killed off so soon, especially Nitara and Mileena! They could have been great additions, should there be a sequel.
Though Kabal’s actor did an amazing job, so there was never a dull moment, really.
What I did find annoying, was that Kano unlocked his special ability before Cole! Good thing Sonya took it from him, because she deserved it more!
It made me so happy that revenant!Scorpion didn’t turn out to be just some pawn for Quan Chi in this movie. Seeing his descendant, Cole Young become a badass must bring elation to his soul. BEAUTIFUL!
Though I will admit, I was expecting Bi-Han to actually be revealed to be Quan-Chi.
Conclusion: Overall, I was pleasantly surprised that the movie turned out better than I imagined. Granted, I didn’t have very high expectations of video game adaptations, but still. It was a fun watch, and worth checking out!

Jeremy Slater says for the ‘MORTAL KOMBAT’ sequel, “they have been listening to the fan reactions and they know what fans loved about the first movie and what they didn’t…”
No, that's not good, the MK fandom is terrible and most of them have the same boring demands. 😖
Also... THEY'RE ACTUALLY MAKING A SEQUEL?!? I thought it was dead. 👀
At least this should mean that they're bringing Kano back. He was the 1 thing it seemed everyone liked about the movie.

Moon Knight 2021 - #29
Welp.
Jed Mackay is officially going to end me.
I'm just... gonna lie here in my tears, ok.
Spoilers for Moon Knight #29 below.
My friend group absolutely called Black Spectre being Plesko.
Get his ass, Reese :3
Soldier... Oh, Soldier. I went back to the last issue, and I don't think Marc told him about Greer being stuck. And the moon on his forehead is glowing.
I think our boy made a deal with Khonshu. Or at least, spoke with him, and it was Khonshu that told him. And Soldier did die in the Vestments, just outside the Mission.
It's looking like Soldier might be the next MK.
And I've got another thought about Moon Knights.
It's been indicated that they generally persist until they're driven basically unsapient by the repeated resurrections.
But what if there's another case?
What if they finally rest when their heart is in balance?
If Marc can get all of his people safe. The Mission is in good hands. So many of his past conflicts have been addressed or resolved.
Regardless of Khonshu being able to resurrect him...
Perhaps Marc and Co's heart will simply have finally reached enough balance to end his duty.

Heyoo!! I've been hard at work and I have a couple drawings of my Monkie Kid Au's characters'll look like! I won't give spoilers yet cause I need to figure out the overall story for the comic(cause some bits are still a work in progress), so yeh! I'll give a short explination for each drawing tho if it helps.(also, Sorry if this is super long 😅)
Anyways, to start off with, we have MK!
To start off with, since I'm making him the son of Macaque and Sun Wukong, he's gotta have a monkey form! Soo I gave him the tail but for the ears, since Sun has 2 and Macaque has 6, I thought I'd just meet in the middle with 4. Soo you bet he'll have sensitive hearing now with this, next is the outfit, I kinda kept it simple,changing a few bits but I tried combining the S1 and S3 jackets together, buut I thought 'why not add some purple to him?'. Oh and the bandana! I wanted it to be Sorta reminiscent of Macaque's scarf, and yeh, that's basically it for now.
Now Onto Mei.
I wanted to give her a type of bomber jacket just the middle part being shorter than the previous jacket she wore. Annddd the dress shirt she has underneath, I wanted to keep it her style soo I watched the last 4 episodes of season 3 again and came up with making a green flame design on it. Though i thought adding some pastel purple and pastel pink details would work with her as well, plus some red as a reference to the samadhi fire. Also, Can't go wrong with a choker that has a flame charm on it can you?
Next up, our resident fire demon, Red Son!
I wanted to add some Demon Bull king elements to him as a start, sooo, the tail came in and I added a set of horns that'll be growing in. I kept most of his old outfit just adding extra details to the shoes andd adding a dog tag that has the Chinese symbol for "Family" on it. Ohhh but the jacket was the most fun to draw, I wanted to keep it both fancy but pretty exaggerated. Sooo I used the Yu-Gi-Oh Character Seto Kaiba as a reference. Now this is only one version of the jacket since he'll have a separate one with his original logo on the back. Buuut this sleeveless version has the symbol of the Ox from the Chinese zodiac on the back of it, though I wonder, where did he get it from? 🤔
And lastly, We have Sun Wukong and Macaque themselves!
Now, I thought about keeping a sort of Sun and Moon motif to them whilst looking at their previous outfits for ideas.
For Macaque, the first thing I did, was to make sure I kept Macaque's blind eye(which he may hide from time), I switched up his scarf colour since he got rid of his old one and gave it to someone else. The rest sort of fell into place after that.
For Sun Wukong on the other hand, I used refs of his outfits and armour from the show, but also looked at the Monkey king:Reborn 2021 movie's version of Sun anndd the 2015 Monkey king:The Hero is Back movie's version of him for help with keeping his outfit traditional but adding my own ideas to it. For the pauldrons on his shoulders, I came up with the idea that he may have been given a couple scales from his friend the White Horse Dragon before he passed away, used those to make his armour. Oh and I tried making it so each colour represents a past friend of his, So Tang Sanzeng, Zhu Bājiè, White Horse Dragon, Nezha and a bit of Macaque too.
But, the MAIN part I wanted to keep, was the Golden Fillet he wore during his journey to the west with his master and allies. Granted he got rid of it but a headcanon of mine is that he kept it, after he was able to take it off, as a memory of his master, Tang Sanzeng. So I stretched it out a bit wider and made it a sort of crown(Idk what that type of crown is called).
So yeah! That's it for now and I'm so sorry if anything sounds like I blabbered on or didn't explain some parts enough, I'm not the best with explaining things, I just draw to have fun tbh. Anyways! I hope you like them! And please, go ahead and suggest below who you think I should redesign next and whatever ideas you have for them.

New to Moon Kn.ight? Here's What to Know!
Gathering my usual onboarding to new mutuals. I promise, I'm friendly! This may be updated in the future. Feel free to ask questions to the blog, in DM, or in the comments.

Since tumblr is a chewing gum webbed site, I abbreviate Moon Kn.ight as "MK" and Mr. Kn.ight as "Mr K" in asks. Both are Marc At Work.
Comic reading list, if you're into that. TL;DR - Moon Kn.ight (2021) #1 is the best introduction for new readers and then I encourage going back to the 1980 series.
If you don't want to be spoiled for current MK comic activity, please blacklist 'wednesday spoilers'
While I do not post current events on this blog, I may at times reblog historical/information posts related to antisemetism. This is because the system's history is heavily influenced by antisemetism. The tag is 'antisemetism cw'
Characterization:
616!Steven is a Wall Street financier/movie producer. He does not fight. He's in charge of taking care of the body's physical and the system's financial needs. Steven is the most assimilated but has strong Jewish ties to Tzedakah (philanthropy and charity). He's also the most stubborn and hates violence.
616!Jake is a down to earth cabbie. Other than a brief time as Moon Kn.ight, he also doesn't wear the vestments. Jake actively practices Judaism, keeps kosher, and is the emotional protector as well as gatekeeper. Protecting is usually when Marc gets bent out of shape about the more positive emotions.
I don't go into why/how the System developed DID. However, I will say I do not consider either the show's version nor Bemis' run to be canon.
Powers, Rumors, Currently
MK/Mr K has very little moon powers. A little bit of enhanced endurance, stamina, durability, strength so he doesn't go splat as often. Not much of a healing factor. Powers are tied to his faith in Khonshu, which has been waned for years. I also give him cool glowing eyes, night vision, and spooky voice.
The one thing most will hear if they're in M.arvel New York is that Moon Kn.ight ripped a guy's face off and went on a 'carve moons into bad guy's foreheads' spree. That was years ago. Marc doesn't do that now. But he's used to being treated with suspicion and fear over it. He's also used to people not believing him that Khonshu is real.
Currently, Marc runs The Midnight Mission in -mumbles, handwaves- Manhattan. People go to him to ask for help and he brings the fear and pain to whatever's giving his people trouble. He's got two main assistants who are vampires, Reese and Soldier.
Hunters' M.oon/Dr. Badr is the other Fist of Khonshu.
The Midnight Mission's space is really the House of Shadows. It's sentient.
Avengers and street heroes will know that Marc Spe.ctor=MK and that Grant and Lockley are also part of MK. Many people do not. Secret identities and all that.
Marc will very likely not remove his mask for a long time around new and long-term friends. He doesn't enjoy being referred to as Marc when he's wearing the mask.

I have these bad habits of assuming that I’m actually gonna FINISH fics. And somewhere near the end, I’ll start worrying about the epilog.
I’m finally getting around to ending my MK Omegaverse series (although I got hit with a pretty great plot bunny of Cassie Cage going through her Omega life with Johnny and Sonya trying to help in the dysfunction of divorcing, which eventually leads them back together. I told y'all I only write happy endings for Mortal Kombat)
Anyway. I need some fluff after the way Further Risks and Complications is going. So here’s a snippet of the super fluffy fluff I’m currently working on. Warning, first draft stuff. And spoilers.
“Would you like to hold her?” Hanzo prodded.
Both Bi-Han and Kuai Liang snapped their heads up at Hanzo in shock, their eyes the same shade of blue.
“Hold her?” Kuai Liang asked, his teeth bared.
“I should not,” Bi-Han said, putting his mask back on.
He immediately put his hands behind his back. “I have no knowledge or experience in holding such a fragile being.”
“You held your brother,” Hanzo assumed. “Support her head and her body.”
Slowly, Bi-Han held out his arms, frost melting and leaving his hands pink. Kuai Liang looked at his daughter, then his brother, before handing her over.
Like his brother, Bi-Han instinctively pulled her to his chest. He held her by her armpits and stiffened when she squirmed but allowed Kuai Liang to adjust her into his arms. Hanzo could see Bi-Han concentrating, but the slight tremble of his fingers gave him away. His eyes softened as he held her tenderly and gazed into her big blue eyes. “…Hello.”

actually i think my favourite thing about the Ed and Stede dynamic is that Ed is IMMEDIATELY obsessed with Stede and while he might not be in love straight away he’s defs into him. whereas Stede is just like ‘wow a friend! i’m sure it’s normal to find someone so interesting!’ (because he’s not had a proper friend before as well as not having been in love before) and he has all these interactions with Ed and they literally kiss and Ed asks him to run away with him and it’s not til AFTER THAT that Stede realises he’s in love. idiot

Can we all take a moment to appreciate how well acted the argument scene between Marc and Steven was? It perfectly captured Marc's exasperation and rising chaos in Steven when he is experiencing how it feels to be trapped inside. Oscar Isaac is killing it. The way Oscar acts feels so raw.
