#NEW ENGLAND JOE RISE

Astro observations: celebrity edition part 2 aka latest news roundup
⭐️ Dua Lipa announced on her instagram that she's actually a Gemini rising as opposed to Libra. Now my Gemini detector told me that ages ago but I accepted the Libra rising just because it's my default token "plain good looking and polite" sign BUT it actually now makes much more sense in terms of house placements. Her Venus is now cazimi in the 3rd house - house associated with creative writing and thinking. The ever-changing and fast-moving Mercury is now in her 4th house of family and home situation and she's actually been always moving a lot between England and Albania. That healthy domicile Mercury as well as the Sun-Venus conjunction in the 3rd shows her close connection to family overall.
Funnily enough, her discovery took place during Mercury station in her 4th house. Talk about finding out your true roots (astrological, in that instance).
⭐️ We also now have the birth time of Elon Musk, who turns out to be a Cancer rising. Jupiter in his 5th house of children now makes perfect sense with his 11 kids (and probably counting).
⭐️ If you're wondering why Ariana Grande is the way she is, look no further than Moon conjunct Jupiter - aka her 7th house ruler multiply; as well as both being square to the Sun. Usually Sun square Jupiter can point to legal issues and excess while Sun square Moon often points to broken families. Now add that together and you have… a homewrecker, yaaay!
⭐️ I was thinking a lot about Blink 182 and Tom Delonge (his chart resembles mine a bit) due to him rejoining the band last year and now releasing a new Blink album. Natally, he has a retrograde Gemini Mars so I looked at his progressed chart to see the stationary period. Turns out his progressed Mars stationed direct early 2014, followed by progressed Sun entering Aquarius. Early following year the band announced that he left permanently. One of the things he focused on was research on the UFOs and work with the government. Of course, keep in mind progressed Mars stations for quite a while and his issues with the band lasted throughout the whole 2014 so it makes sense that the final split occured a year later. And why Mars? Well it can literally speak about our focus in life and our direction - where we put our energy. Not to mention Mars rules his MC so it brought him a massive turn in his career. So makes sense.
⭐️ Britney Spears just released a memoir book. Putting aside the questionable fact on who really wrote it, it stirred up a lot of drama. Her chart is one big mine but today I'm only focusing on current transits: she just had an eclipse in her first house of Libra. That eclipse landed right on her Pluto, which natally squares Venus (talking about toxic relationships and exposing them). Pluto itself is making last hits to those degrees as well as it's stationing direct in the late Capricorn. Interestingly I think Jupiter being in her 8th house can point to this as well - it lights up all the secrets and talks about working on past traumas. Now, you're also probably thinking, why was she involved with so many iffy people in her life? A lot of things in her chart point to that but what always struck me was her 7th house ruler - a malefic Mars - being in her 12th house of enemies. And it squares Neptune so they're also liars and exploiters.
⭐️ There's been A TON of celebrity breakups during this Venus retrograde season but I'm gonna quickly focus on Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner because their charts are an interesting example. Their synastry is mostly having planets in sister signs but this also means that if one of them gets hit with a transit, so is the other. Involve Saturn in that transit and you get trouble. Saturn is currently in early Pisces, where Sophie has some of her planets in the 12th house (loss, enemies). Her Mars (disputes, cutting) is at 4° of Pisces while Joe's Mars is at 7° Virgo - right opposite that. Saturn transit stirred up some proper drama: and Saturn is also coldness, being restrained and cut off. On top of that they also have their rising signs in the opposite signs of Aries and Libra and we just started having eclipses in those signs earlier this year.
Not to mention Joe's Leo Sun got hit by Venus retrograde and a Uranus square. Among other stuff.
FUN FACT: according to my research they met for the first time in October of 2016 when Jupiter was in Libra. So, interestingly, not only they had Jupiter going through their angles but Jupiter in their Davidson chart is in Libra.
⭐️ Taylor Swift is currently going through her 10th house profection year (Leo). It would make sense then that her career would take a turn this year considering that Venus was retrograding in Leo. Of course as it turned out she had a massive succes with her ongoing world tour, which is said to become the highest grossing tour of all time.
⭐️ A Vogue article popped up about Rita Ora's and Taika Waititi's wedding that took place a year earlier (they kept all the info and date private until now). Jupiter played a huge role in them getting married (as it often does, especially for a couple like them, who have it strong in their charts, which I wrote about HERE). At the time of their wedding Jupiter was at 8° Aries, which for Rita is that sweet spot between her Sagittarius Sun and Venus (4° and 10° respectively) and Leo Jupiter (13°) - as it completed a grand trine in her chart. Transiting Sun was also 12° of Leo, highlighting that trine even more.
Man I love astrology.
For Taika it was pretty prominent as well although his Jupiter aspects were more sign-based. He had a Jupiter return; his Moon is somewhere in the middle of Sagittarius so he received these fire trines as well. Interestingly, at the time of the wedding Saturn was at 22° Aquarius - exactly opposite his Leo Sun but also sextile his natal Jupiter. So for him it had a bit of a Saturnian flavour that called for stability and maturity.
⭐️ Similarly, I just read the other day that Frances Bean Cobain got married earlier this month. She has a Venus-Jupiter conjunction on top of her Virgo ascendant (interestingly Kurt had the trine between Venus and Jupiter - so seems like a family pattern). Also interestingly, transiting Jupiter is currently trining both her Venus and Jupiter (on the day of the wedding it was trining Venus exact), thereby her natal pattern got repeated. Jupiter is also her 7th house ruler.
Her now husband, Riley Hawk is having a nice transit of that Jupiter over his Taurus Moon - and remember, Moon rules the women in your family as well as your wife.

“Come on now, I wanna see!”
“I don’t know if it’s gonna work, luv,”
“Please?  For me?”
You heard a long almost dramatic sigh from the otherwise of the closet door, you were sitting on the bed and waiting with a hint of excitement and some nervousness.  Why were you nervous when you weren’t the one who was going to be trying on a new swimsuit for the upcoming summer holiday.  Your boyfriend was nervous which may have been strange to others, but not to you.
Joseph Quinn was one of the hottest rising stars, ever since he appeared on Stranger Things, he was getting so much attention it was making him dizzy for a brief moment in time.  You saw all the compliments, accolades he was received, and there were all true in your opinion.  You thought he was amazing to begin with, and to see him finally get the recognition that he desired after years of being on shows or in plays.  He fought hard with everything he had to get where he was, and now he was going to reap the rewards.
One of the rewards as a vacation, out of Great Britain and in the sun for a few days.  A proper summer holiday, away from the gray skies in England. It was going to be out in the Maldives, Joe got connections and a great deal through his agent to go out at a villa for a few days, wanting you to come not just because you were his girlfriend but as a thank you for being his number one supporter.  Plus it was the one time he had a few days off from a schedules or appearances.
“Joe, I bet it’s okay.  Let me see, please?” You tried again, folding your hands in your lap and being as patient as you can, “I just want to see if they fit or if we need to take them back to get another size,”
“The size is not an issue, luv,” The door opened and you finally saw him, the board shorts that he was wearing was perfectly on his hips and going halfway down his thighs. You could see how Joe got some muscle when he was training on his recent projects, including Stranger Things.  Although he was skinny, you could tell he did some endurance and strength training just to keep up and stay active.  Now that he looked great, muscles and all, you never minded having your eyes linger a bit longer.
Joe quite liked that actually, giving you a wink when you gave him the first look over in the shower.
“You look good!” You voiced as Joe was still looking uneasy about it, looking down at himself as you got up and gestured to the shorts, “The color looks good on you.  And you can totally tell you were working out?”
“You can?” He asked, looking down at himself again with a raised eyebrow.
“Yes!  What, you don’t believe me?” You asked him with a smirk, Joe looking up at him and seeing how you weren’t phased in what you said.  Joe was confident in himself most of the time, not always, but most of the time.  He was used to people telling him that he was amazing, an excellent actor, handsome and with humor.  But you knew deep down he had those moments of insecurity, just like any other person in the spotlight would.
That was where you came in.  You knew he was brilliant and talented, you knew he was kind and sweet, and you knew he was handsome in his own right. No need for the lights and makeup to alter his face or appearance, his own beauty was unique and rightfully his.  So you would tell him all time how great he was, how wonderful he was, and how beautiful he was to you.  It may have been sappy to others, but Joe loved it.  He felt better and felt more confident when you would praise him for anything and everything he did.
It helped him grow,
“You are beyond handsome, Joseph Quinn,” you said to him, almost like a declaration as you got up from the bed and walked over to him, seeing him watch you with his own small smile.  You stood right in front of him, gesturing to his body, “Personally, I think this swimsuit does not do enough justice in how you look.  You’re a rockstar!”
“Come off it,” Joe said as he was trying not to grin so big to make you laugh.
“Seriously!  You’re going to have to beat ladies off with a stick at this point,” you joked, seeing him roll his eyes as he wrapped you in his arms and hugged you tightly.  You hugged him back, feeling him breathe out a big sigh of relief and content.
“I only have one lady I wish to impress,” He whispered in your ear, making you blush as he pulled away sightly to kiss the tip of your nose, “Thank you, luv.  You make me happy by simply loving me, my weirdness and all,”
“Oh, you’re not weird, Joe,” You reminded him, “Clinical insane, yes.  But not weird,”
Joe then pinched your side, having you laugh and try to squirm away as he was tickling you and keep you wrapped in his arms while doing so.  That confidence that you knew he always had was back one again, all from your won confidence in him.
The summer holiday in Maldives was a hit, you and Joe enjoying your time under the sun and Joe getting tan line from the suit you got him.
The End

If we slow dance
Joe/Nicky, Football AU, Explicit, 8,4k
Joe didn’t know exactly what to expect when Booker convinced him to hire a male escort. In retrospect, it had been Joe’s own fault. He shouldn’t have talked to Booker about his plans for his first free weekend. But after one month of intense training with the new team, he wasn’t thinking straight. And Booker might be Joe’s best friend, but he’s also his agent and didn’t take it lightly when Joe joked about ‘hitting the nearest gay club and finding someone to take home.’ Booker didn’t laugh along; instead, he looked more serious than Joe ever remembered. Booker had been sympathetic following Joe’s breakup. He stayed sober while Joe drank himself to sleep, and after pushing a mug of well-sugared coffee into Joe’s hands the following morning, he told Joe his transfer had finally come through. ‘You will be way too busy to mope now,’ he said with a sad smile, adding with a touch of solemnity that Joe couldn’t be a rising star footballer with a boyfriend, no matter how discreet he and Markus had been for the past years. “You’re Champions League now, Yusuf,” Booker reminded Joe last week. “There will be time to romance pretty guys in the future, preferably after you bring home at least one World Cup. Until then… there are professionals we can call for you, so lemme help, please?” Joe had reluctantly agreed. And though he did look forward to not having to pretend to be into women for at least a little while, he couldn’t bring himself to peruse a catalogue of strange men’s headshots and choose someone to fuck. So he had left the picking to Booker, trusting his friend to know where his tastes lie. Booker had, after all, introduced him to Markus when he was still playing for his club in The Hague. But whatever picture Joe had conjured up in his mind in the days leading to the appointment made by the escort agency, that image didn’t even remotely resemble the young man currently standing in Joe’s hallway. First, he hasn’t dressed in the sort of clothes Joe thought a sex worker would choose. Not that Joe had much, if any, experience with that sort of thing. But well, people made assumptions. If pressed upon, Joe probably would have guessed a pair of tight-fitting dark jeans and a fancy dress shirt, maybe some jewellery and hair slicked back with way too much gel. But instead, the man in front of Joe looks… comfortable. Like a young journalist or maybe a student on his way to the university. Joe is certain he would probably look past this man if he encountered him on the street if it wasn’t for the most striking pair of eyes he has ever seen. Joe hasn’t had a chance to properly sketch since his new contract brought him to England, but suddenly he can feel his hands tingling to unpack his charcoal kit and draw those eyes framing the large roman nose, along with the half-smile on this stranger’s sharp, angular face. “Hello, Joe,” the man says, his accent going straight to Joe’s core. He feels his face heat up at once. “I’m Nicky.”

In the summer of 1814, U.S. and British negotiators gathered in Ghent in the hopes of putting an end to the war that had begun two years earlier when England invaded the United States. The British, confident of victory, demanded major territorial concessions; when the U.S. delegation, led by John Quincy Adams and Henry Clay, rebuffed those extortionate terms, the British proposed to redraw boundaries to include current gains, which contained parts of New England. News of the burning of Washington, which reached Europe in early October, tempted the Americans to concede.
Instead, they stalled, hoping for good news. That news soon arrived in the form of U.S. victories around Lake Champlain and in Baltimore. Just before Christmas, the British withdrew all demands and agreed to postpone the most contentious issues for future discussion. The Treaty of Ghent put an end to the era when U.S. sovereignty was threatened.
The moral of this story is that premature diplomacy during warfare is a mistake; the dynamism of the battlefield must be allowed to shape the conditions of negotiation. Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has urged his colleagues in the Biden administration to “seize the moment” for diplomacy now that Ukraine has fought the Russian army “to a standstill.” But that’s the wrong metaphor; the Ukrainians first withstood the Russian onslaught and have since pushed it back. A diplomatic bid a month ago might have conceded Russian control of Kherson, a city Ukraine has since regained, just as an agreement in September 1814 would have lopped off a significant portion of New England. The moment will come for diplomacy; it’s not now.
In an earlier column on the letter progressive Democrats sent to U.S. President Joe Biden on Ukraine, I wrote of my reservations about the left’s antiwar case for diplomacy. The stronger argument, however, is on the right, or at least the non-left. This side correctly points out that while Ukraine’s interest in protecting its territorial integrity is unlimited, the West has many other concerns that it must hold in balance with its support of Ukraine. In an article in the National Interest, Cliff Kupchan, chairman of the Eurasia Group, recently listed the grave and long-term costs of the war: accelerated “deglobalization,” rising food and energy prices and the social and political unrest those spikes can provoke, nuclear instability, and, above all, the prospect of war between Russia and NATO, possibly including a Russian resort to nuclear weapons.
In a recent conversation, Kupchan told me that he was “in the minority that thinks we should entertain talks with the Russians.” The cost that most concerns him is the military one. “We haven’t,” he said, “found Putin’s red line.” Russian President Vladimir Putin was not risk-averse, as he had been thought to be. He might respond to what he regarded as a threat to his regime with a form of escalation, nuclear or otherwise, that would be calamitous for the West, whether or not the Ukrainians regarded it as a price worth paying. Kupchan’s brother Charles, a professor of international affairs at Georgetown University, has also made the case that “the Kremlin’s resort to a nuclear weapon becomes a realistic option should Russian forces face full expulsion from eastern Ukraine and Crimea.”
This turns the argument about diplomacy and timing upside-down, suggesting that the West needs to begin formulating a diplomatic endgame before the Ukrainians succeed so well on the battlefield that Putin pulls the world down upon himself—and us. That kind of reasoning is, of course, the whole point of nuclear blackmail. When I said as much to Cliff Kupchan, he pointed to the additional costs of the war, very much including the horrendous deaths of hundreds of Ukrainian children. Yet this is a cost that the Ukrainians themselves seem willing to bear.
That said, simply calling Putin’s bluff would be the height of madness. The Biden administration is acutely conscious of the problem of the red line; even as he authorized another $400 million in military hardware for Ukraine, the president refused to provide long-range drones that could hit targets inside Russia. The argument for diplomacy says, in effect, that Washington must restrain not only itself but Ukraine; if not, as the international relations scholar Emma Ashford recently wrote, “[I]t may find its carefully calibrated response to the war being overtaken by a dangerous fantasy of absolute victory.” Ashford takes a careful middle position, suggesting that while a negotiated solution “seems impossible today,” U.S. diplomats “should begin to raise—both publicly and to [their] partners—the difficult questions that such an approach would entail.”
That sounds reasonable—don’t try to push Ukraine into sitting down with Russia but do begin to prepare for discussions that you know are bound to come. But is it? I raised the issue with Stephen Sestanovich, a Russia expert at the Council on Foreign Relations. Sestanovich said that even publicly airing possible end scenarios could sap Ukrainian will, the most precious commodity of all. “Yes, at some point you can sit down and talk to the Ukrainians about their future,” he said. “But you must have respect for how much harm you could do to them.” The analogy that occurred to Sestanovich was Winston Churchill’s refusal to consider Italian diplomatic feelers in May 1940 for fear that doing so would undermine British morale.
The reason that plans for a possible endgame should remain inside diplomats’ desks right now has to do not only with timing and tactics but with other kinds of costs that diplomatic realists tend to soft-pedal. The British realized after the War of 1812 that the United States was too strong and well-located to be retaken. Putin, however, would be emboldened by an agreement that granted him, for example, something a bit better than the status quo of 2014. In fact, he will remain a threat to his neighbors and to the West so long as he retains the capacity to do harm. Sestanovich suggests that if Ukraine continues to advance in the east and take back much of what it has lost, “the Russians will be in full panic mode” and Putin’s own rule will be threatened. That is, in effect, the best-case scenario for Ukrainian military success. (The worst-case scenario, of course, is that Putin lashes out against that threat.)
The question, at bottom, is: How much does it matter? So far, the United States and Europe—to a much greater degree—have concluded that halting Russian aggression in Ukraine is worth a good deal of sacrifice. The fact that the professed values of the West turn out to be real has obviously come as a shock to Putin; it has also come as a shock, if a very pleasant one, to many people in the West. But that will is hardly bottomless. Biden and his fellow leaders will not keep bearing the political and economic burden in order to achieve Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s maximal terms, which include Russian reparations and the return of every inch of Ukrainian territory.
The time will come when diplomats pull those plans out of their desks. But first we must see how much further, with our help, Ukraine can push back Putin’s advance. Doing so is in our interest as well as Ukraine’s.

U.S. President Joe Biden on Tuesday declared a state of emergency in Vermont, where torrential rainfall has triggered life-threatening flash floods.
The president's action frees up federal resources to supplement the state and local response efforts as well as authorizing the Federal Emergency Management Agency to coordinate all disaster relief efforts across Vermont.
Many rivers in the Green Mountain State were "expected to crest overnight at flood levels," according to a joint press release from the Vermont Department of Public Safety and the Vermont Emergency Management. As of Tuesday morning, swift water rescue teams had already performed more than 100 rescues, primarily in the towns of Londonderry, Weston, Bridgewater, Andover, Ludlow and Middlesex, according to the Vermont Emergency Management.
"Vermonters should be vigilant and aware of conditions as floodwaters rise," both agencies warned in the press release on Monday night. "If flooding approaches your home evacuate to higher ground sooner rather than later, your route could be compromised by floodwaters and leave you stranded."
Vermont's capital, Montpelier, issued an emergency health order closing downtown until 12 p.m. ET on Tuesday as the Winooski River, which runs through the city, recedes. Water levels were expected to drop between 8 a.m. and noon ET, according to Montpelier city manager William Fraser.
"This will allow officials to assess safety risks and begin clean up efforts," Fraser said in a statement via social media on Monday night. "We know that business owners will be anxious to check out their stores but we urge patience."
However, the city was forced to extend the downtown travel ban until 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday because water levels were reducing slower than initially projected. This came as the Winooski River crested in Montpelier at 21.02 feet, the highest level since 1927.
In another statement early Tuesday, the Montpelier city manager warned that the Wrightsville Dam, located at the intersection of the municipal borders of the towns of Montpelier, Middlesex and East Montpelier, "only has 6 feet of storage capacity left," which he said "could be a dangerous situation."
"If water exceeds capacity, the first spillway will release water into the North Branch River," Fraser added. "This has never happened since the dam was built so there is no precedent for potential damage. There would be a large amount of water coming into Montpelier which would drastically add to the existing flood damage. This will be particularly bad along the North Branch River corridor and into the downtown. Unfortunately, there are very few evacuation options remaining. People in at risk areas may wish to go to upper floors in their houses."
Montpelier Police Chief Eric Nordenson urged members of the public to stay out of the downtown area and off city roads on Tuesday morning, saying in a statement that first responders, rescue crews and dispatchers "are spread very thin and will need time to assess the damages."
The emergency in Vermont came as heavy rainfall drenches the northeastern United States, with flooding expected in the New England area from upstate New York to western Maine. The extreme weather began on Sunday, affecting much of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, prompting flash flood alerts in parts of New York. The system pushed north on Monday, with the heaviest rainfall and reports of significant flash flooding occurring in Vermont.

░ DETAILED BIOGRAPHY . (tw suicide, drowning, parental death)
Joseph Chandler was born on October 31st, 1989 to Arthur and Miriam Chandler. An avid lover of symphonic orchestras, Arthur named his younger (by seven minutes, thank you) son after the man said to be the Father of the Symphony... Austrian composer Joseph Haydn.. and making his middle names a nod to both himself and his son's maternal grandfather respectively. Joe was a precocious child, extraordinary in some ways and less than average in others. He showed a proclivity towards the silence of his own solitary company rather than the robust energy of the neighborhood boys and often preferred to watch events unfold rather than participate directly. Non-comformity is a fearful thing to most school children and so his peers ridiculed him, often at a loss as to what to do with the quiet boy who refused to rise to their bait, who tried to never react on impulse.
At the age of fifty three Arthur Chandler drowned himself in the bathtub, leaving behind a widow and two traumatized ten year old sons. Joe was never able to shake the memory of finding him, of watching their lives fall apart in subsequent years as his mother lost her mind to a frenzied effort of finding answers. Approached by MI6 (alongside his brother) during university, he politely declined. Despite Adam's insistence to distance himself from their family tragedy, Joe was determined to follow in his father's footsteps. A lover of plans and details, he happily followed the future mapped out for him by his god-father, Commander Anderson.

BIOGRAPHY
Lengthy Past:
Tristan was born as one of the eight offsprings of the Original werewolves who grew into a well-respected werewolf family later down the line. He grew up with a strong sense of family, loyalty and courage. His pack was made up of both hunters and gatherers and were one of the first to start recording their experiences as werewolves and their interactions with the other species around them. He fought with his brothers and sisters, along with his parents, for Lucifer and Lilith before the fallen archangel was imprisoned and Hell banished from Earth. In this war, the Godfrey Pack lost most of their members and were forced out of what would later become Creation Peaks...
While not a completely uncivilized werewolf pack, the Godfreys were known as the best drinking buddies or most savage enemies before the rise of humankind. Tristan witnessed angels still hunting other-than--human individuals, remembers the birth of witches and times when Banshees worked directly with angels before the appearance of hunters and enhanced humans.
With the passage of time and being hunted by angels, the Godfrey Pack slowly dissolved. Tristan and his surviving siblings scattered around their broken homeworld to keep their family’s legacy going. Meanwhile, Tristan ended up finding he hated staying in a single place and soon found himself traveling as a lone Omega. Charisma and good-looks carried him through most dangerous situations, although his pedigree and age helped---but more so, his connections to demonic forces.
He appears as a Spartan in ancient Greek history a few times and it is believed he joined a werewolf pack in the area for a time. Coming up later on as a legionary and then a centurion, he was recorded to have died in the suppression of Boudica’s upraising. Local hunters, however, believed he had joined a local pack and left human affairs to humans alongside his packmates.
Tristan remains elusive thereafter until he joined the crew of Bartholomew Roberts, but it is later believed he died with his captain fighting the British Navy. From there, Tristan disappeared again until 1990 where he is recorded living in Lower Slaughter, England. There, he worked with his new Alpha at a brothel she owned. Yet he somehow caught the attention of local witch, Alia Sharma. Their relationship started rocky, as she was cold at the beginning, mistaking his confidence for narcissism. However, the two began to fall in love.
As they began to speak about marriage and making a family, the werewolf began to take more and more responsibilities in his pack and had been recontacted by his superiors in Hell’s Army. The local werewolves were thought of as criminals by the average human, and they weren’t all that wrong. The pack in Lower Slaughter was made up of hardened men and women, but the sense of comradery was unlike anything Tristan had experienced since the younger days of their world. At the same time, he was happily surprised to learn him and Alia were pregnant.
While Tristan wasn’t present at the beginning of his daughter’s life, he made sure to support her and his girlfriend, and made time to talk to his child on the phone daily. Even when Alia seemed worried about Samara’s newfound abilities, Tristan only joked that he was disappointed she hadn’t inherited the werewolf gene instead... However, another call would change it all: his child was in mortal danger. With a hatred and anger he did not know he had been marinating within himself, and his pack backing him up, they charged towards his family home with a vengeance... Their only regret was that they hadn’t made it on time to save Alia...
They went on the attack like a tornado of howls, glowing eyes and sharp teeth. What he remembers most was a witch approaching his terrified child, and the way he’d let the beast within loose... What had begun as a human being, ended up a pile of guts and a bloodied pulp. It broke him to see the reanimated corpse of his beloved rabidly protecting their child. While the pack at Lower Slaughter would always be home after what they all had been through together, Tristan took to his nomadic lifestyle again and while pretending otherwise, he now only lives for his child...
Now
A bit ago, him and his daughter settled in Creation Peaks, Tristan encouraging Sam to join the local coven for protection. Happy to be back in a town born of the ashes of a village that meant a lot to him and sharing it with his daughter. However, as his life now revolves around Samara, the implications of demonic activity in the area and his position with them frustrates him at the moment seeing as how his duties may conflict with his wants.
While he may come off as narcissistic, apathetic and even violent, Tristan is an old father trying to look over his only daughter the best he can---a warrior whose taken a liking to living in a garden.

Read Alikes: Fairy Tale by Stephen King
The Fireman by Joe Hill
No one knows exactly when it began or where it originated. A terrifying new plague is spreading like wildfire across the country, striking cities one by one: Boston, Detroit, Seattle. The doctors call it Draco Incendia Trychophyton. To everyone else it’s Dragonscale, a highly contagious, deadly spore that marks its hosts with beautiful black and gold marks across their bodies - before causing them to burst into flames. Millions are infected; blazes erupt everywhere. There is no antidote. No one is safe. Harper Grayson, a compassionate, dedicated nurse as pragmatic as Mary Poppins, treated hundreds of infected patients before her hospital burned to the ground. Now she’s discovered the telltale gold-flecked marks on her skin. When the outbreak first began, she and her husband, Jakob, had made a pact: they would take matters into their own hands if they became infected. To Jakob’s dismay, Harper wants to live - at least until the fetus she is carrying comes to term. At the hospital, she witnessed infected mothers give birth to healthy babies and believes hers will be fine too... if she can live long enough to deliver the child. Convinced that his do-gooding wife has made him sick, Jakob becomes unhinged, and eventually abandons her as their placid New England community collapses in terror. The chaos gives rise to ruthless Cremation Squads - armed, self-appointed posses roaming the streets and woods to exterminate those who they believe carry the spore. But Harper isn’t as alone as she fears: a mysterious and compelling stranger she briefly met at the hospital, a man in a dirty yellow fire fighter’s jacket, carrying a hooked iron bar, straddles the abyss between insanity and death. Known as The Fireman, he strolls the ruins of New Hampshire, a madman afflicted with Dragonscale who has learned to control the fire within himself, using it as a shield to protect the hunted... and as a weapon to avenge the wronged. In the desperate season to come, as the world burns out of control, Harper must learn the Fireman’s secrets before her life - and that of her unborn child - goes up in smoke.
The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward
This is the story of a serial killer. A stolen child. Revenge. Death. And an ordinary house at the end of an ordinary street. All these things are true. And yet they are all lies... You think you know what's inside the last house on Needless Street. You think you've read this story before. That's where you're wrong. In the dark forest at the end of Needless Street, lies something buried. But it's not what you think...
Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky
Christopher is seven years old. Christopher is the new kid in town. Christopher has an imaginary friend. We can swallow our fear or let our fear swallow us. Single mother Kate Reese is on the run. Determined to improve life for her and her son, Christopher, she flees an abusive relationship in the middle of the night with her child. Together, they find themselves drawn to the tight-knit community of Mill Grove, Pennsylvania. It's as far off the beaten track as they can get. Just one highway in, one highway out. At first, it seems like the perfect place to finally settle down. Then Christopher vanishes. For six long days, no one can find him. Until Christopher emerges from the woods at the edge of town, unharmed but not unchanged. He returns with a voice in his head only he can hear, with a mission only he can complete: Build a treehouse in the woods by Christmas, or his mother and everyone in the town will never be the same again.
The Pallbearers Club by Paul Tremblay
What if the coolest girl you've ever met decided to be your friend? Art Barbara was so not cool. He was a seventeen-year-old high school loner in the late 1980s who listened to hair metal, had to wear a monstrous back-brace at night for his scoliosis, and started an extracurricular club for volunteer pallbearers at poorly attended funerals. But his new friend thought the Pallbearers Club was cool. And she brought along her Polaroid camera to take pictures of the corpses. Okay, that part was a little weird. So was her obsessive knowledge of a notorious bit of New England folklore that involved digging up the dead. And there were other strange things - terrifying things - that happened when she was around, usually at night. But she was his friend, so it was okay, right? Decades later, Art tries to make sense of it all by writing The Pallbearers Club: A Memoir. But somehow this friend got her hands on the manuscript and, well, she has some issues with it. And now she's making cuts.

*HISTORY.
{ trigger warnings for: divorce, child abandonment, hostage situation, mentions of torture / war, PTSD & anxiety }
In many ways, Graham Goldstein’s life only began the day he learned he was a father. True, he had existed for roughly nineteen years before then — even had a few accomplishments to his name, which was far more than could have been expected for a scrawny kid growing up the middle child of seven siblings to two working-class drunks for parents  — but he did not become Graham Goldstein until his child entered the world as the lifelong consequence he would only ever run away from. For a man suddenly thrown into a marriage he wasn’t ready for, in a town too small for his own ambitions, with a child he didn’t know how to love ( much less want ), becoming looked a lot like increasingly unexplained absences, divorce papers delivered alongside an LSE diploma, and ultimately, the building blocks of his path to fame.
The first was a rarity of sorts, given that the power of speech was the one credit he had to his name. Graham’s silly childhood dreams of drama school were abandoned once his paychecks went to child support instead, and in its place was the first-class education he prioritized over all else — the kind that not only gave men like him a foot in the door, but made everyone else in the room think he belonged there, too...
... Or, that’s what he’d been led to believe. As fate would have it, his first door led not into some shining, sparkling newsroom, but a war zone instead. Graham interviewed soldiers, politicians, and dictators alike, covered international scandals, and made a name for himself as a tireless broadcast journalist unafraid of staring controversy in the face and cutting it down to shreds. In a sense, the role of dauntless maverick was one he’d practiced numerous times as a young child, inventing characters and stories with which to entertain his siblings as they all hid from his father’s rages. The only difference was that now, instead of hiding from a drunken temper and furious screaming, Graham hid ( or attempted to hide ) from overhead attacks and oppositional forces.
For over a decade, he succeeded at doing so, having developed genuine physical adroitness whilst living alongside soldiers on the frontlines. But, at age 37, he was kidnapped while on assignment and held for seven months by a militant power in a foreign country. The story that has since been repeated to the public involves the tragic recollection of physical and psychological torture, of begging for his life, of pleading with his captors to return him home. A photographer who’d been captured alongside him received the fullest extent of violence and ended up in a shallow, unmarked grave — but when he learned that his captors met similar fates at the hands of an angered British government, the lie that would forever change his life was uttered: “I prayed each night, not to God, but to my daughter — for the chance to see my daughter one more time.”
To date, it's the best lie he’s ever told on-air, his own words a kind of genie in the bottle with never-ending wishes, granting him all the fame and fortune he could ever want. The lie was cemented in a bestseller, a testament to experiences left irrefutable only because anyone who could contradict him was dead. His success as an author, combined with the need to retire from the field of war correspondence due to recently-diagnosed PTSD, led him to take a job with the BBC as a co-anchor. The role is well-suited to someone like him, perhaps even the best fit for someone with his natural charisma, perennially handsome face, and natural inquisitiveness. Better yet, his job grants him the fame and fortune he’d dreamed of before he knew the harsh realities of the world. It lands him in the beds of supermodels, the ears of politicians, the right-hand seats of those with the power to shape society and culture — each and every one of them an equal step towards the opposite ends of achievement and unraveling.
*WANTED CONNECTIONS.
more will be added v soon, along with a proper connections page !! these are all up for grabs, and if you like bits of one but not the whole idea, dw — i’m all about collaborating to create some cool plots, so just dm me and let’s dream something up together <333
— SUPPORT SQUAD » Graham is somewhat new to regimented therapy, psychiatry, etc., having only really started taking his doctor’s recommendations seriously within the past year ( since landing his job at the BBC. ) I would love to explore support group dynamics through him: a mentor, a sponsor, a newcomer who Graham feels compelled / is tasked to look out for. He’s been a solitary person for several years now and hasn’t ever really known how to rely on someone when he’s at his lowest. And so, playing around with him finding and needing that support figure, as well as someone viewing him as their own, could lead to loads of interesting dynamics — especially if he takes on the role of ‘father figure’ despite having obviously avoided it in the past.
— WHITE RABBITS » There’s a part of him that yearns for some of the high-stakes drama of his previous field of journalism — the scandals and corruption and brutality of it all. Graham knows he can’t truly be put in that world again, but I do see him as someone who might make a shady alliance every now and then in order to expose some political, business, or legal corruption. Or, possibly even just to get a taste of the thrills he’s left behind. I would definitely love to play around with him delving further into the darker side of London’s criminal world, and perhaps even using his status to protect a criminal in exchange for their information. A potential long-term plot could be one such white rabbit getting him addicted to the lifestyle and using that to blackmail him — because, you know ... drama and tension and chaos is just the name of my game.
— DAYS OF YOUTH » For the most part, there are few remnants of Graham’s early life that he’s chosen to keep around to this day. Those select few can take the shape of a couple different forms: someone who doesn’t absolutely abhor at the idea of him abandoning Marielle and Ramona, someone he owes a favor to for reasons TBD, someone he’s secretly been taking care of / watching out for since making it big, etc. Sky’s the limit, really, as long as your chara is within a similar age range and spent their formative years in the UK.
— THE SPOILS OF WAR » Graham spent a considerable time covering war conflicts, diplomatic endeavors, and other tense foreign assignments. For the majority of this time, he lived alongside soldiers and adapted to their incredibly rigid lifestyle. This connection would be for characters whose time in the military could have overlapped with Graham’s coverage of various war efforts and such, and who developed any variety of relationships with him: chosen family, adversaries, romances, etc. I think, regardless of the kind of relationships within this connect, Graham undoubtedly sees the period of his life as the one that made him the man he is today.
— MEDIA CIRCUS » Can go in any number of ways — approval-seeking interns, overworked assistants, rivals both from within BBC or another network, fellow authors, etc. Anyone and everyone connected to the media world is welcome!
— NO STRINGS ATTACHED » Reporting the news every weeknight is mad stressful, y’all. This is best-suited to someone with similar demands on their schedule, who’s also just looking for a fun way to release some of that tension. ( I’m definitely willing to discuss offshoot ideas of this, but for the time being, this connect is not really rooted in romance on Graham’s side! )
*EXTRAS.
Any and every stereotype of a journalist holds true for Graham: keeping a pen tucked behind the ear and in the chest pocket, reading advance copies of every newspaper he can get his hands on, thriving off of an unhealthy mix of debate and caffeine, talking somewhere close to the kilometric speed of sound, etc. However, one habit that consistently seems to surprise others, if only for its uncharacteristic nature alone, is his smoking. Cigars, cigarettes, pipes — Graham isn’t overly fastidious about what method his tobacco addiction takes, as long as it fills up his lungs with smoke and burns on the way down. The result, of course, is an instantly recognizable rasp that, thankfully, his viewers seem to enjoy.
On the recommendation of his therapist, he adopted a rescue dog to help with his PTSD and anxiety. At first, Graham saw the pet as a token of positive exposure — the public loved an act of charity, after all — but he quickly realized just how necessary the dog was to his health and safety, and now keeps his beloved golden retriever nearby as often as possible.
The accent everyone hears on the nightly news is that of proper Received Pronunciation — a perfectly posh English accent fit for the telly. It’s very much been learned and perfected over time, to the point that it’s practically his default, though not his native one. Graham’s native accent skews far more Yorkshire, and becomes more obvious with certain words ( or when he’s intoxicated. ) He’s largely eschewed it from his voice, but it can’t be denied that it lends a certain musicality to the accent he employs for work.
Graham is an avid fan of punk rock from the 70s and 80s. It’s the music he grew up listening to, and the music he lost himself in when the realities of his home life were too much to handle. To this day, he collects long-lost vinyls, posters, and memorabilia of his favorite bands, most especially things related to The Ramones.
His absolute favorite cuisine is dim sum. No matter where he is in the world, he will desperately search for the area’s best dim sum restaurant. Graham would argue that it’s not just the food that’s brilliant, but it’s exceptionally wonderful for the fact that most restaurants seat patrons ( no matter individual or grouped ) at large, round tables — thereby, connecting strangers over a meal and creating new relationships bonded by a shared love of good food.

Consumer Confidence in the UK Rises Again with Strong Outlook for Finances
The latest, mostly improved figures from data firm GfK also support last week’s findings from Deloitte that UK consumer confidence has hit a new two-year high across the personal finance landscape. improved, especially in people 25-34 years old.
After static figures in March, this month’s confidence index rose to -19 with GfK’s overall index showing four measures increased and one remained the same compared to last month’s announcement.
Specifically, the index measuring changes in personal finances over the past year increased two points at -11, about 10 points better than April 2024, while the 12-month forecast for personal finances to unchanged at +2, 15 points. higher than this time last year.

The measure of the country’s general economic situation over the past 12 months increased 4 points at -41 month over month, 14 points higher than April 2023 and expectations for the general economic situation over the 12 months to an increase of two points to -21, or 13 points better than last April.
The Core Shopping Index also rose two points to -25, three points higher than this month last year, and the Savings Index rose one point to +26 in April, seven points higher than this time last year.
Of course, we can’t ignore the fact that most of these numbers are still in negative territory, although there has been a clear improvement, and UK consumers can hardly be said to be brimming with confidence. believe.
“While the overall Index Score remained negative, all five underlying metrics this April were significantly better compared to [month and] month,” said Joe Staton, GfK Chief Client Strategy Officer. 4 last year.
“These improvements reflect the impact on household budgets of lower inflation and anticipation of further tax cuts. However, we are a long way from having a much firmer mentality in the period before Brexit, Covid and the conflict in Ukraine.
“There is a lot of ground to cover and caution is needed in the face of ongoing economic and financial challenges and a revised view on when the Bank of England might cut borrowing costs. But spring is here and perhaps consumer confidence is finally turning brighter and moving in the right direction.”

The Evolution of Boxing: How the Sport Has Changed Over Time
Boxing, a sport deeply rooted in human history, has undergone significant transformations over the years. From its humble beginnings as a form of entertainment in ancient civilizations to its modern-day status as a global phenomenon, the evolution of boxing reflects broader societal changes, advancements in technology, and shifting cultural attitudes towards athleticism, competition, and gender equality.
Throughout history, boxing has served various purposes, ranging from religious ceremonies in ancient Greece to military training in ancient Rome. However, it wasn't until the late 17th century in England that boxing began to take on a more organized and regulated form. The emergence of rules and regulations, such as the introduction of weight classes and the banning of certain dangerous techniques, laid the foundation for the sport's evolution.
In the 19th and early 20th centuries, boxing gained popularity as a spectator sport, with organized matches drawing large crowds in both Europe and the United States. Legendary fighters such as Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, and Muhammad Ali became household names, captivating audiences with their skill, charisma, and resilience inside the ring. During this time, boxing underwent significant changes in terms of technique, training methods, and equipment, with innovations like the introduction of gloves and the standardization of ring dimensions contributing to the sport's evolution.
The latter half of the 20th century saw boxing reach new heights of global prominence, fueled by the rise of television and the advent of pay-per-view broadcasting. The sport became increasingly commercialized, with promoters and managers playing a more significant role in shaping the careers of fighters. Meanwhile, advances in sports science and technology revolutionized training methods, enabling boxers to reach peak physical condition and maximize their performance in the ring.
As boxing continued to evolve, so too did the demographic makeup of its participants. While historically dominated by male athletes, the sport began to see a growing number of women entering the ring and making their mark on the sport. Today, Women boxers like Claressa Shields, Katie Taylor, and Amanda Serrano are among the top contenders in the world, challenging traditional gender norms and inspiring a new generation of top female boxers to pursue their dreams in the ring.
Despite its evolution, boxing remains a sport steeped in tradition and ritual, with many of its customs and practices dating back centuries. From the pre-fight rituals of wrapping hands and donning gloves to the post-fight traditions of shaking hands and showing respect to one's opponent, boxing embodies a unique blend of athleticism, strategy, and sportsmanship.
In recent years, boxing has faced criticism for issues such as corruption, doping, and the long-term health risks associated with repeated head trauma. However, efforts to address these challenges, including stricter regulations, improved medical protocols, and greater emphasis on fighter safety, are shaping the future of the sport and ensuring its continued relevance in the 21st century.
Looking ahead, the evolution of boxing is likely to be shaped by a combination of factors, including technological advancements, changing cultural attitudes towards violence in sports, and the ongoing push for greater diversity and inclusion. As the sport continues to adapt and evolve, one thing remains certain: boxing will always hold a unique place in the hearts and minds of fans around the world, regardless of how much it changes over time.
In conclusion, the evolution of boxing reflects broader trends in society, technology, and culture, shaping the sport into what it is today. From its origins as a form of entertainment in ancient civilizations to its modern-day status as a global phenomenon, boxing has undergone significant transformations while maintaining its core values of discipline, determination, and respect. And as top women boxers in the world continue to rise to prominence on the world stage, the sport is entering a new era of inclusivity and diversity, further cementing its place in the annals of athletic history.

Henry Ford
from The New Vulgate:
Henry Ford was a nut.
But he was an ungodly rich American nut, and when he got a bug up his butt, he had the resources to do something about it.
He started his own newspaper, The Dearborn Independent, and when that was insufficient for spreading the hot news about the Hebrew-haters preferred hoax, “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” he distributed it through Ford dealerships and had it translated into German.
When he decided he needed a dam, he hired forty Negroes to dig him one, specifying an all-colored crew to his contractor, then had them knock off work to sing him Stephen Foster songs — he was especially fond of “Old Black Joe” and “Old Kentucky Home.”
Once he decided that the contemporary world had gone to hell in a handbasket, he set himself up with a Never-Never Land right there in Dearborn and named it Greenfield Village.
It was a psychic twin to John D. and Abby Aldrich Rockefeller's Colonial Williamsburg (and both places were kin to Walt Disney's seven-eighths scaled Main Street USA, with its banjo-spanking Dixieland band, striped coats and straw hats direct from the blackface minstrel walkaround.) These were industrialist fantasies of pre-industrial feudal villages — once she'd presided over the founding of the Museum of Modern Art, Mrs. Rockefeller sent forth her minions, collectors who would shortly be dubbed "curators" and they worked New England and the Mid-Atlantic states the way maidenly New Englanders were working the mountains of the South, hunting for the pure and the purer.
Her employees gathered up weather vanes and quilts, pried Pennsylvania Dutch hex signs off the front of barns, loaded trucks with cigar-store Indians and sewing baskets and duck decoys, each and every one of them by that celebrated and super-prolific folk artiste "Anonymous."
Then she commissioned her curators to come up with a definition of "folk art" that would fit a collection that included no totem poles or kachinas or Navajo blankets or santos or bultos or bottle trees or wrought iron work or anything else made by anyone who wasn't rustic, white, and located on the eastern seaboard.
Mary Black, the director of Abby's collection, declared, "The genesis, rise and disappearance of folk art is closely connected with the events of the 19th Century when the dissolution of the old ways left rural folk everywhere with an unused surplus of time and energy."
It was a theory to warm the heart of any Rockefeller. Henry Ford, on the other hand, was a nouveau riche buttinski who supplied his own damn theories, and plenty of 'em.
He turned collectors of his own loose, hunting for backwoods fiddlers who could remember the words and melodies of the old tunes, the fiddle tunes that were American's true pure heritage.
He set himself up a dance hall in his factory's Engineering Lab, with his fiddle-and-dulcimer orchestra on hand at all times.
He hired a dance instructor and produced a book, Good Morning — After a Sleep of 25 Years Old-Fashioned Dancing Is Being Revived by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ford, then distributed hundreds of thousands of copies, just as he did with the Protocols.
The book's rules of etiquette were as rigid and unwavering as a manual for a mass-production line. By now, Henry Ford had dance fever.
He traveled the country preaching the gospel of his square-danced etiquette.
At his factory, engineers were constantly being dragged onto the dance floor, and on his Georgia plantation, Negro children were taught the polka.
He created his own record label for "Henry Ford's Old Time Dance Orchestra."
When his collectors brought Stradivarius violins for his approval, he'd saw off a fiddle tune, then write a check.
He purchased the cottage where Stephen Foster was born and had it moved to Greenfield Village.
He bought a Cape Cod windmill, and English shepherd's cottage, the schoolhouse where the author of McGuffey's Reader swatted his first sleeping students, the Springfield courthouse where Abe Lincoln lost his first court case and the Ford's Theater chair Lincoln was sitting in when John Wilkes Booth shot him.
He came within days and dimes of buying a pickled corpse alleged to be Booth.
He tried to have Foster's Old Dog Tray exhumed and stuffed but the operation was a failure.
He purchased a dozen railroad cars of research on the folkloric history of "Mary Had A Little Lamb." (The poem's author died at seventeen, the lamb was gored by a cow, and Mary herself ended up in an asylum.)
Henry Ford had hated farm life when he was a boy stuck on a farm, and he invented his way out of it — a couple of ways.
Late on a night in 1936, one of the many family acts who were making it through the Depression off country music drove down a Michigan road trying to find a tourist court so they could sleep.
It was the Rhodes Family — brother Speck Rhodes would play bass with Porter Wagoner for many years, all the while playing the Toby role, a black-toothed rube variant from the minstrel days, the white Jim Crow, the Arkansas Traveler's squatter.
Exhausted, they found a country road — it sure seemed like a country road — so they pulled over and slept in the car.
A guard woke them in the morning; they had spent the night in Henry Ford's driveway.
He'd let them stay there because they drove a Ford.
"Sure enough," says Speck's brother Dusty, "...here comes Henry Ford with two bodyguards. He was a real nice fellow and after we talked to him for a while he asked us to plays some music. He really did like country music."
He asked Dusty Rhodes if he wanted to play one of his fiddles, then sent the servants to fetch it.
"This is a genuine Stradivarius violin," Ford told him, "and is worth $150,000."
He asked me if I would play 'Red Wing' for him because that was his favorite fiddle tune. So I played 'Red Wing' and several other tunes for him on that Stradivarius fiddle." Ford sure did love country music.
"Red Wing" had been written and published in 1907 by Tin Pan Alley's Kerry Mills, author of "Rastus On Parade" and of "At A Georgia Camp Meeting" as well, the biggest cakewalk hit of the whole coon song era.
Mills had been head of the violin department of the University of Michigan School of Music; he'd snagged the melody, all too appropriately, from Schumann's "The Merry Peasant."
To this day, "Red Wing" is known as an old fiddle tune.
(My mom, Lawrence Welk's cousin, Francesca Schweitzer Bull, has always played it oom-pah accordion style on the organ, but that's pretty much how she plays everything.)
It is an old fiddle tune, just as it was in 1937, maybe just as it was by 1908.
The vogue for coon songs was cooling down, and a brief fad for frontier Indian romance numbers came and went.
It was a coon song of a different sort, and Henry Ford was right.
It was country music, just as his driveway was close enough to a country road to fool country folks in a country band.
Henry Ford, the man who killed off the horse-and-buggy-era, once the fastest man in the world, died by the light of a coal lamp.
And that $150,000 fiddle of his? "Well," says Dusty Rhodes, "I have to admit that I didn't like it any better than the one Daddy made for me." Subject: Re: songlist… Date: May 10, 2017 at 1:21:56 PM CDT Turkey in the Straw https://youtu.be/VsnZxfkkoKQ

You can probably look up every song he mentions and find it on YouSteal, but the main paradigm he proposes is Jim Crow and Zip Coon. So any coon song should cover the second base, and most Jim Crow material was eventually translated into hillbilly Hee Haw style material sans the blackface.

M do me a favor….
bart mentions a lot of songs in "does this road"
can you list four to ten songs [hopefully that are FRESH and in a way "UNDISCOVERED"] that absolutely sizzle?
and if so, can you link to perhaps youtube examples of the songs so i can get an idea of the sound?
not looking for songs that belong in a museum of sacred melodies.
looking for songs that MTV wished they'd cashed in on —
