Its a shame I couldn't show you the entire armor design for the robot combo. I wasn't able find a way to keep the composition intact if I showed the whole body. Also, I designed the hair and face for the human one, but I decided it was too complicated for the "stained glass" theme.

Oh yes, friend! There is the fanfic of it, which got updated a few weeks ago, and it’s a very good read! I also wrote a little explanation for the AU a while ago if you want to know more about it and where it came from. I try to reblog everything from the AU into this tag, and the “official” tag that people usually use is overlordsau.

Of course, I have to admit that I’m not an expert on the AU since I was way too shy to be active in this fandom until recently, so I get to learn more about it everyday too! There’s lots of new headcanons and stuff that come out from the AU all the time, and the most important thing to remember is that the AU grows faster and develops more when there are more people interested in it!

And I totally agree that people should cosplay it, that would be super awesome! I really love the AU, and hopefully it continues to spread around so more people know about it. (Also all the fanart people make for it is so stunning!) I hope you have a splendid day and enjoy the AU! (●⌒‿⌒●)

So, I'm new to the daft punk fandom, and Hi! I happen to have some questions on things, and was hoping maybe you could help? If you can, one of my first questions is, what is the Overlords!AU? I've seen it everywhere in the fandom, and I'm really confused. Thanks for your help if you can.

Hello, hello! First of all, welcome to the fandom, we’re glad to have you join us!

(･っ･) I’ll try my best to answer your questions, but if I don’t know the answer, maybe someone else can jump in and help!

Overlords!AU is an AU where Guy-Man and Thomas basically rule over the humans of the world as lords, which is where the name comes from. Usually people see Guy-Man as the brutal overlord who strongly dislikes the humans and mistreats him, whereas Thomas is the kind overlord who helps the humans and likes them! Because of this you might see fanart with Guy-Man covered in blood, or with both of them fighting about how to treat the humans.

Unfortunately, I cannot remember who was the first to start the AU, perhaps it “started” when hamhammers first drew a fancy/kingly looking thomas, which is what sparked the other designs, but I am not entirely sure. I do believe the design that most people use for Thomas’ armor originally came from ladyabsurd, and the design for Guy-Man’s armor came from diagnosis-pancakes. To my knowledge the AU started just as “medieval” designs, and it kind of took off from there!

I’m sorry if I left out anything important, hopefully you are a little less confused now though. If any of my other followers know more information, maybe they will reblog and add to my description!
