Jeffrey Mishlove (New Thinking Allowed)
Heidi Jurka is author of 'The Making of a Psychic'. During the period from 1976 to 1979 she worked closely with parapsychologist Andrija Puharich on his "space kids" project. She was living in Puharich's house in August 1978 when the place was set on fire by an arsonist.
Here she provides many details concerning her work with Puharich, the "space kids" and "mindlink" projects, and the arson fire that put an end to this chapter in her life.

Dr Andrija Puharich, medical and parapsychological researcher, medical inventor, physician and author.

Psi Clips
Andrija Puharich, M.D. surveys his career researching psi, including studying the gifted subjects Eileen Garrett, Peter Hurkos, Uri Geller and others. Recorded at the Mind Science Foundation in San Antonio, Texas, USA on 21 February 1989. Dr. Puharich was Research Director there in the early '60s.
Much discussion also on ELF, psychotronics, government-sponsored psychic warfare and remote viewing of sub-atomic particles and fields (through Sharron Jacobson).
Dr. Puharich asserts that Peter Hurkos served as the top psychic for President Ronald Reagan. This was confirmed by Lee Sannella, M.D.

One of the most intriguing aspects of Gene Roddenberry’s creation of the Star Trek franchise was his relationship with a mysterious extraterrestrial group calling itself the Council of Nine that were being channeled by the psychic Phyllis Schlemmer in the 1970s. Roddenberry sat in on channeling sessions from 1974 to 1975, and participated in Q & A’s that were recorded in Schlemmer’s 1993 book, the Only Planet of Choice.
What lent credibility to the Council of Nine was that their existence was confirmed in the famous Law of One channeling sessions held from 1981 to 1984, which are widely regarded as the most authoritative channelings ever conducted due to the strict scientific protocols used by a retired applied physics professor, Don Elkins.
These historical events provide important context for Elena Danaan’s most recent contact experiences where she claims to have been taken to Jupiter’s moon, Ganymede, where she met with the Council of Nine, and was told why Rodenberry was chosen to prepare humanity for a Star Trek future.
This is an audio version of an article published on November 4, 2021, and narrated by the author Dr. Michael Salla.

A book popped through my letterbox recently entitled Memories of a Maverick by H.G.M. Hermans. The maverick in question was Andrija Puharich (1918-1995) and the author, ‘Bep’ Hermans was his second wife. Her book has prompted this tribute to a great and much misunderstood scientist of great vision, versatility and courage and a wonderful human being. But for him, nobody outside Israel would probably ever have heard of me, and it is no exaggeration to say that I owe my career and my success to him.
H.G.M. Hermans: Memories Of A Maverick (1998)
L/L Research
Don and Carla were interviewed on WKQQ for their "UFO Awareness Week" in 1977, sharing information about their work in UFO investigation and communication.
Jim McCarty heard this interview on the radio, prompting him to seek out and join Don and Carla for their public meditations. Eventually, Don and Carla invited Jim to join efforts and form a trio, leading to the receiving of the Ra contact.
Interview with Don Elkins and Carla Rueckert (WKQQ, May 1977)

The Sacred Mushroom: Chapter 14 Key Notes
(Page 161) “I would say that the main reason that I became interested in a study of Harry Stone was the quest for a drug that would amplify extrasensory perception.” My take on this statement by Puharich is that I find it interesting that he just cares about ESP in general, but he’s not as interested in the messages he’s getting from Harry Stone. Earlier in the book, if I recall correctly Harry Stone mentioned the 9 Egyptian gods--the Ennead--during one of his trances and these Ennead remind me of the Nine that were to appear in Puharich’s life while studying other sensitives such as Dr. Vinod and Uri Geller. Through Puharich, I believe this is the Nine’s way of gently educating humanity of their existence, but I also think they are pivotal to human’s realizing their psychic potential and abilities. I am not sure why the messages are not direct enough to be understood in layman’s terms though. (Page 162) Puharich says that the species he harvested of Amanita muscaria was poisonous, but the Mexican mushrooms that Wasson worked with were not poisonous, where Puharich was able to take 22 at a time to bring about hallucinations. This makes me curious what Wasson has to say in his book, Soma. (Page 163) It is interesting that Puharich states that Amanita muscaria has no enhancing effect on normal individuals but it has a very strong effect on proven sensitives, such as Harry Stone and Peter Hurkos. Speaking of Peter Hurkos, I’m surprised to read that he’s in here because I haven’t really thought of this person but his name is coming up in my psychic development coursework. Apparently he is famous and what’s even more interesting is that his psychic skills manifested after a traumatic life event around the age of 30. It’s unfortunate that his Wiki page appears to be written mostly sourcing works written by skeptics such as James Randi. I still don’t understand why Randi was so popular, but at this point in time I’m not very interested in reading Randi’s work. I would rather work on reading the facts from the side that is more open-minded.
Speaking of mushrooms, it’s a bit funny and coincidental (if not outright a synchronicity) that I’m learning of how mushrooms were used in the past to study ESP, but then there is a popular zombie-esque show that came out not too long ago called The Last of Us which tells a story of the apocalyptic scenario in which a mushroom species--Cordyceps--has infected the brain of every human and turned them into violent, uncontrollable zombies operating under the mushroom collective. What to think, what to think... Another interesting thing that Puharich talks about is that Hurkos and Stone “both exhibited euphoria--inebriation in one case, and an ecstasy or trancelike state in the other”. This reminds me of the first time I went to a hypnotherapist and tried out past life regression therapy. I remember she did a method to walk up some stairs in my mind and try to go through some door at the top of the stairs, but I couldn’t open it and I felt an overwhelming sense of anger and sadness. But when she brought me back into reality, I felt what I describe as a sense of euphoria, where I felt high like on cloud 9 or something and I felt extremely happy or content. My experience sounds similar to what Puharich is describing, but at the time I did not think I had a paranormal experience. All I know is that my hypnotherapist was shaking when I woke up and offered to continue sessions with me and money would not be an issue, but I never went back. I just wasn’t interested at the time... But in hindsight, from everything I’ve learned, including random bits of information that have appeared to me in life, I am inclined to believe that around that time I was likely experiencing my third eye awakening.

MAN ON A SWING
When I worked at Turner Broadcasting, we were consistently told “based on a true story” was a surefire ratings grabber. That doesn’t seem to have helped Frank Perry’s MAN ON A SWING (1974), which came and went rather quickly, relegated to box-office limbo with a January 1 release. Paramount just couldn’t be bothered to release it to qualify for 1973’s year-end awards. Although the film has its flaws, it’s a pity Joel Grey’s performance got buried. He plays a self-proclaimed clairvoyant who volunteers to help a harried small town police chief (Cliff Robertson) solve a murder. Robertson and the audience are never sure if he’s really psychic or if his uncanny knowledge of the crime’s details stems from some kind of involvement with it. Grey pulls out all the stops in the role, using his dance training to mold the character’s body as he seemingly channels the victim and perpetrator, and he’s got some very creepy moments playing with Robertson. For his part, Robertson wisely underplays, letting Grey do the heavy lifting while keeping the enterprise grounded. Contemporary critics complained about the film’s indeterminate ending, which mirrored the case on which it was based. I had a similar reaction, a big Scooby “Aroo,” when the film ended, but I have to admit the ending has also stuck with me. I think it’s ultimately more haunting than frustrating. When you’re not marveling at Grey’s work, it’s fun to spot all the New York actors cast in the Connecticut-shot film: Dorothy Tristan, exquisite as Robertson’s pregnant wife, Elizabeth Wilson as a suspicious psychiatrist, Peter Masterson as a police officer, George Voskovec as a professor studying psychic phenomena (he’d played psychic Peter Hurkos in 1968’s THE BOSTON STRANGLER), Alice Drummond as the victim’s mother and Clarice Blackburn as an earlier victim of one of the suspects.

Melvin Rees part 3 Inside, they found a red button missing from Mildred's dress, indicating that she had been taken there after being kidnapped. Near the building were fresh tire marks. After finding points of comparison between the Harold and Jackson cases—mainly the general area of the murders and the sadistic nature of the crimes—investigators determined that both homicides were committed by the same culprit. The murder investigation became a media sensation with the involvement of self-proclaimed psychic Peter Hurkos, who visited the gravesite of the Jacksons in Falls Church, Virginia and handled their possessions, allegedly using his powers to accurately describe the murders and the positions in which their bodies were found. Hurkos visited the site of the Margaret Harold murder, and told investigators that the same killer had murdered the Jacksons. He also made various predictions about the outcome of the case, saying that it would be solved within two weeks and that the killer would ultimately be indicted for nine murders. Hurkos reportedly led investigators to the house of one of their main suspects, a trash collector who confessed to the murders; with the later apprehension of Rees, however, Hurkos and his claims about the case were ridiculed by The Washington Post. An anonymous source—later identified as Glenn Moser of Norfolk, Virginia—sent a letter to the Fredericksburg authorities, suggesting that they look into Rees. Moser explained that he and Rees often engaged in heady philosophical conversations, one of which had been about whether murder could be considered acceptable. Rees, under the influence of benzedrine, confided to Moser that he considered murder to just be another part of the "human experience" that he eagerly wanted to take part in. "You can't say it's wrong to kill," Rees reportedly told Moser. "Only individual standards make it right or wrong." The discussion took place the day before the Jacksons disappeared. Upon hearing of their murders months later, Moser suspected Rees of killing the family. Moser confronted Rees about the murders. #destroytheday https://www.instagram.com/p/B8Etf1zhpIk/?igshid=doq10r04tabr

The Boston Strangler:
Who is The Boston Strangler? Were the killings actually committed by Albert DeSalvo, who confessed to the assassination of 13 women in the Boston area between 1962 and 1964, or were they the work of several assailants, as many investigators maintain to this day? “It wasn’t as dark and scary as it sounds. I had a lot of fun… killing somebody’s a funny experience.”- Albert Desalvo. For an example of the complexities surrounding this incident, just look at the killer's alias. The guilty party was also known as the Phantom Fiend or Phantom Strangler before the Boston Strangler tag was popularized in 1963. One of its papers were opened by a 1962 version of the Boston Herald stating, "A wild strangler is loose in Boston." What is the motive behind the killings of these women? Forensic psychiatrists were enlisted after Helen Blake's murder to help profile the murderer committing these atrocities against women. The prevailing views were that he was a young man (18-40), experiencing hallucinations of injustice and his mother's contempt (this was before the emergence of younger victims). However, the theory of the killer being a mother-hater collapsed when Sophie Clark was assassinated on 5 December of the initial year of the assassinations. Dr. James Brussel, the' father' of American Psychological Profiling, has provided a new' psychofit.' The Killer was now considered to be 30 years old, heavily constructed, medium height, clean shaven with thick dark hair; possibly Spanish or Italian background. When the police asked him why he targeted a variety of young to mature women, he was eager to answer ... "Attractiveness had nothing to do with it...When this certain time comes on me, it's a very immediate thing. When I get this feeling, instead of going to work I make an excuse to my boss. I start driving and I start building this image up, and that's why I find myself not knowing where I'm going."-Albert Desalvo. What we do know is that at least 13 women were killed in their own homes between June 14, 1962 and January 4, 1964, most of them strangled and sexually assaulted. Two more murders are believed to be the product of the same murderer or killers at the time of the shootings but were later found to be different. In reality, investigators were so eager to close the case that by manipulating related items, Massachusetts Attorney General Edward Brooke reportedly called in a self-professed psychometrist— one who appears to intuit information about an individual or an event— to help solve the killings. Peter Hurkos was named the psychometrist. He proclaimed the killings to be the work of one person for whom he received a "minute detailed description," although that definition actually did not match Albert DeSalvo or any other prominent perpetrator in the killings. The split in the Boston Strangler investigation came about as with several other serial murder investigations in history as a result of an apparently unrelated incident. A man claiming to be a policeman stormed a young woman's home on October 27, tied her up, sexually assaulted her, and then left abruptly after shouting, "I'm sorry." Police led to Albert DeSalvo by the victim's identification of her rapist. Upon his conviction and his photograph was released, several other female victims came forward to describe him as their attacker. Only after his capture did DeSalvo admit being the Boston Strangler, first to a fellow prisoner.
Description in the admissions of DeSalvo mirrored many elements of the crime scenes that were never made public. Nevertheless, there were also contradictions in his arguments. Eventually, the testimony was found too vague to be used in court; DeSalvo was prosecuted primarily for the previous assaults and sexual offenses he had been interested in. DeSalvo was moved to Walpole State Prison following his capture, where he stayed until November 1973. It was then that he sent Dr. Ames Robey, a forensic psychiatrist, an urgent phone call. DeSalvo told the doctor he needed to meet him urgently and asked him to bring a journalist with him. But in the middle of the night, DeSalvo was stabbed to death in his cell before they could speak. Dr. Robey claimed DeSalvo was murdered as he was about to reveal the truth about the crimes of the Boston Strangler. In 2013 DeSalvo's DNA was confirmed as a "almost definite match" to the DNA that was found at the scene of Mary Sullivan's killing. Two times, officials exhumated his body to do further DNA testing. For some, this DNA evidence finally put the Boston Strangler's identity to rest. In the long string of oddities and contradictions, it is simply another knot for others. With DeSalvo gone and the other major players now buried, we can always be unable to understand the last fact behind the most popular America serial killers. There were thirteen women murdered by The Boston Strangler and they are: Anna Slesers (55) Died 14th June 1962and was discovered by her own son; Found to be strangled with her belt, Mary Mullen (85) Died 28th June 1962 and the killer left a New Year's greeting card wedged between the toes of her left foot, Nina Nichols (68) Died 30th June 1962, Helen Blake (65) Died 30th June 1962 ;Forensic psychiatrists called in by Police to help profile killer, Ida Irga (75) Died 19th August 1962, Jane Sullivan (67) Died 20th August 1962, Sophie Clark (20) Died 5th December 1962; Suspicions of a 'Mother-Killer' on the rampage are quashed by the latest killing, Patricia Bissette (23) Died 31st December 1962, Mary Brown (69) Died 9th March 1963, Beverley Samans (23) Died 6th May 1963, Evelyn Corbin (58) Died 8th September 1963, Joann Graff (23) Died 23rd November 1963, and Mary Sullivan (19) Died 4th January 1964; De Salvo posed as a detective, gaining easy entry. In actions completely uncharacteristic of his previous methods, he allowed his would-be victim to live.
