As we can see from the screenshots I forgot crop these were meant to be posted a lot earlier lol

I still have quite a few of these IG questions to answer. I wanted to share these four because they were my most fun. There’s another that I will post up but it will be included with any other angsty questions

The first one is a few Ocs and their taste in music. I separated them and wrote more but I forgot to watermark them. I don’t think anyone would steal these drawings but still.

Sera loves opera and takes Ortun and Tau to them as often as she can. It’s one of the few activities she keeps up with from her childhood. Ortun wasn’t the biggest fan but grew to enjoy opera and is quite the connoisseur lol On IG I had the two of them listening to a talented opera singer, Maria Callas. My friend introduced me to

Fleur and Takoda in particular like just about everything. If it’s got a catchy beat they will be fans of the song/artist/group. I had watched, Turning Red, before drawing this and had them dancing to, I Want It That Way, by the Backstreet Boys. The two of them would be those friends who sing with a hairbrush and put on a performance in front of an invisible audience lol

Azra I want to say gets introduced to anime and amvs by her soul sister and discovers a bunch of rock and symphonic metal. She has no regrets watching amvs lol She’s listening to Nightwish, Sleeping Sun. A personal favorite song my sister and I discovered one day that cemented our days surfing YouTube for good amvs

Cha’l can be an old soul and enjoys music similar in beat to Frank Sinatra. It’s easygoing and Cha’l has to have music on when he’s cooking for his family. He’s the type that can play music and not get distracted if he’s focused on a task. He was listening to, “Poetry in Motion” a song my sister showed me from a Fisheye amv from Sailor Moon! But, Cha’l also loves music that makes you want to dance! I’m getting pictures in my head- like if he’s making a recipe he’s done a thousand times he has no problem letting the music speak and make him dance. If I drew him dancing he’s be listening to either Hector Lavoe, Marc Anthony or Elvis Crespo because those artists hold specific moments I see Cha’l and his family doing

Fleur singing in the tavern! There was a commercial that was playing all the time (maybe January? That’s when I believe I drew this) and it gave me jazz bar vibes. The poses and composition were taken from a childhood favorite movie of mine. If anyone could guess it will get a digital cookie! I will say the movie is a direct to video sequel to a much better movie. I’d give another hint but the other hint is giving too much away

MY FAVORITE!!! Lol Kiel and his expressions. He and Fleur are the most expressive but Kiel is the king of expressions. Kiel is a menace to Captain Ortun and he thrives off of knowing that. I love how close he and Tau are. He’s an only childling so Tau gives him a taste of what having a sibling is like. If Tau looks like they’re in vampire garb that’s because I was looking at/thinking about, Interview with the Vampire lol

Lastly, Gelfling Viara and Podling Fleur! Something I never would’ve considered. Even as a Podling Fleur still looks like she can take anyone on while looking cute doing it lol Viara is still just as sweet looking as a Gelfling.

A while ago I answered some IG questions! Here are 2 of them featuring @smaaenart Podling Oc Velan who is Viara’s husband and their twins Kaj and Brin!

Now the Podling family has a fourth member in their daughter Neera. It’s a coincidence that Smaaenart suggested the name Neera because she was my favorite character in Disney’s Dinosaur. I swear that movie was my childhood omg!

Viara is super happy to have the family she’s always wanted and to share that with her father.

The second is on Kiel and Tau sharing a brain cell at the realization that Velan has kids. At the time both are surprised to know someone with kids. Idk if Cha’l and Shiyoon were expecting yet or if Kiel and Sammi had begun adopting. Regardless, Kiel and Tau are the most surprised lol

@imagin8 I interpreted this as my Gelfling Ocs lol

These were all done on my train rides the past two days (hence why I personally think Cha’l and Kiel look slightly off) I also added Viara because she was my second Dark Crystal Oc and she deserved to be included. Originally this was going to be most of my young adult ocs but then Ofir, Rizzi, Sera and Ortun said, “hold up! What about....us?”

I need to get back into human proportions because some of their noses are slightly off. I also have a ship I am getting tempted to draw from an anime I’ve watched and my IG feed shows me all the cutest drawings of them.

Maybe I’ll do some of the canon characters as humans. I’m afraid my interpretations of them won’t be so unique or something that hasn’t been done.

Anywho~ these are just a portion of my Gelfling (and one Podling) ocs as humans! I hope you all enjoy this!

I wanted to post the second answer that should go with this one but I’ll reblog it when I have the sketch done.

My Podling Oc Viara is I a ship with @diasart2020 Podling Oc Velan and they have twin boys. These two are also a sweet ship!

When Viara is overwhelmed Fleur offers to babysit her friends little ones. And Fleur being the fashionista she is has a outfit for babysitting (it’s just not seen so much in this post lol )

I added this to my IG but here are my Dark Crystal OC’s! They are so much fun to draw and destress with, I might do another IG ask and share some of the drawings again.

From left to right;

Fleur (Stonewood x Dousan but she inherited a lot of her father’s features): Adventurer, Bounty Hunter, and Sass for days.

Viara: the sweet bean and the levelheaded one of her friends.

Cha’l ( Stonewood x Dousan, Fleur’s older brother): He travels with the Sifan and loves causing mayhem with his best friend Kiel.

Kiel ( Sifa x Vapra): He goes by many names; Prankster, Sly-Guy, and Sifan Deviant.

I still need to work on their stories but I love them and I wanted to share them with you all.

I had also created a Podling OC called Viara. She’s a gentle bean who either works at a Bar/Tavern or she is a farmer who trades with Maudra Mera.

I wanted to try to get the asymmetrical style of the Podlings Brian Froud had mentioned in the “Crystal Calls” documentary on Netflix. I also love the color scheme she has, I noticed that Podlings dress in reddish colors and she looks so sweet!

I hope all my Podling lovers appreciate Viara. Maybe one day I will draw her and my Gelfling OC Fleur interacting.

The cinnamon roll of my Dark Crystal Oc’s. Yesterday I was in Albany NY for the day and on the train ride there I started coloring her in. It was way too bumpy of a ride to work on my more refined pieces. Whe I can, I’m going to redo her hair because I messed up on it lol

My two Dark Crystal OC’s Fleur the Gelfling and Viara the Podling. These are two little sketches inbetween my commissions. One of them is almost done and another one I plan on going deep in on it lol

Fleur and Viara couldn’t be any different lol Fleur is a bit mysterious with a splash of charm and a great sense of adventure. Viara is a gentle spirit who loves tending to her favorite flowers but she can be tough when she needs to be, especially when she’s helping out at her families Podling Tavern.

74. Are they quick to anger? What are they like when they lose their temper?

My sweet bean Viara!

Viara does get angry and it’s always because she’s let it stew for a long time. Usually when she’s angry she’ll meet up with Fleur and throw her daggers at a training stump.

When she loses her temper she stomps her feet and raises her voice. It’s not always very effective and that makes her storm off lol

Do any of your OC's know the gelfling heroes on AoR?

Yes some of them do!

Fleur and Cha’l know Rian and Rek’yr! Being Captain Ordon’s son made Rian quite the talk of the town among the childlings in both the both areas of Stone-in-the-Wood (the inner area for Stonewood clan Gelfling only and the travelers section for many clans passing by on a journey) Fleur know Rek’yr more than Cha’l and had a huge crush on him while she journeyed the Crystal Desert.

Kiel knows Onica! Kiel can be a troll and a teaser and made hints to Onica that he knew about her relationship with Tavra. He would try to get Onica to join in his mischievous antics.

I’m still developing Kenai but I feel like he knows Naia and Gurjin; mostly Gurjin because they would have fun together before he joined the Castle Guard.

Rizzi definitely knows Naia and wants to be strong just like her!

Viara knows Kylan since she would help out Maudra Mera to prepare for the Skeksis, and she would be amazed at his song-telling. She also knows Hup, who use to work at her father’s tavern before leaving to follow his dream! They were really good friends!

Maybe more of them will but these I know definitely know our favorite heroes in AoR!

I believe the “Dream-Seeking” book has the Thra equivalent to our Horoscope signs, but I don’t own that book yet lol

As for our Zodiac calendar;

Fleur is a Gemini, Viara is a Cancer, Kiel is a Virgo, Cha’l is a Libra and Azra is a Pisces.

56: What Hogwarts House would they be in?

I’m probably one of the few people who grew up in the height of the films and never watched any of the films or read any of the books. (It’s a weird story) Because I’m completely out of the loop with Harry Potter I will go by the descriptions on the Harry Potter wiki lol
