This is a messy doodle of a random thought that came to mind of how Kiel and Fleur first met

Before the two of them found their soulmates Kiel and Cha’l would kinda hype the other up to strike a conversation with a Gelfling that caught their eye. In this instance things didn’t go down how they normally did- Kiel finally got to see the sister Cha’l would talk about- and witnessed Cha’l’s overly protective big brother side XD

Kiel didn’t put two and two together when he first saw Fleur because at first glance she and Cha’l don’t automatically look like siblings (mostly because their skin tones/patterns are very different, but that hair is a dead giveaway lol)

Idk if my handwriting is too hard to read since I was speeding it so I’ll type the dialogue here:

Kiel: Hey Cha’l! Check out that cutie.

Kiel: Do you think she’ll give a guy like me a chance?

Cha’l: NO

Kiel: Ouch Cha’l what-

Cha’l: That’s my sister

Kiel: … You have a cute sister?

Kiel: Chill! I was looking at her respectively

The big splotch on the second image was Cha’l basically saying that he didn’t want to see Fleur get her heart broken. Before this moment Fleur confessed to Rek’yr but was rejected. She was by the Sifan market to have a little retail therapy and surprise her brother.

Some more IG stories I did a while ago! I wanna a,let a separate post of any of the ones I have that feature other Ocs who belong to anyone on Tumblr as well.

1. Azra was a shy little girl but her Gran, Inaya helped bring her out of her shell. Gran Inaya is the one who taught Azra all there is to know about soothsaying. Azra’s backstory is sad- I forgot how sad she was as a childling until I began writing this down. Poor baby. The good thing is that she’s doing much better nowadays.

2. One day I have to draw the triple date because that 100% happened and you know there were laughs and fun expressions going on. When the shipping trinity is all in one place one would be blessed with good vibes lol. This particular piece is happening on that legendary triple date, EnchantedSandstorms is running fashionably late because they are the OG ship between myself and my friend Jack-Toons lol. Fleur is excited to finally meet Sammi because Kiel definitely brought them up to her when she passed by the Sifa shores. Razer is already acquainted with both Kiel and Sammi and is the one to thank for setting them up together (just don’t tell Fleur that his intentions weren’t to help Kiel find love)

I love them so so much!!!! Although I couldn’t draw the trinity together, all three ships are so happy and in love with their respective partners. It always shows on their faces. They all have my heart!!!! 💖

3. The only thing killing this piece is that I assigned that shade of pink to Saffron and instead of me choosing a night sky I chose a pinky sunset lol. Poor baby is merging with the background 😅. Teaching Saffron how to fly is one of Fleur’s many treasured memories since becoming a mother. She also likes to occasionally dress Saffron in a matching outfit. Bless the OceanPetals family they are so sweet- all of the ship’s families are sweet!!

4. The reverse au has me in a choke hold and I am succumbing happily 😂 Reverse Takoda and Adora are fun because they are so different from their og counterparts that the OG’s would try hiding their faces. I’m still surprised that for the most part Taokda doesn’t have a sad childhood, or messed up parents/family members, or was bullied- the gentle lad escaped somehow lol. No one besides my friend knows the full length of Adora and Elkie’s childhood. We still need to see Reverse Elkie, she’s a gem lol

I live! Just very busy with a lot of things.

In between a commission, I pieced together this reels for IG. These things usually look neater due to video editing apps buuuut I don't have one of those yet (and don't know how to use them 🥲) hence the shaky video and sound.

There were a few ocs that I heard the voices and knew just who I would put for them. Others I had to choose what sounded close in my head.

I love how no one really likes Tore and he ended up getting the longest part lol

All of these are sketches from many months- about a year ago. If some look nicer than others that's most likely why.

Cha'l gets the lost one because he CANNOT sing to save his life. Only his wife, Shiyoon, can listen to him without covering her ears. It's also funny that the only gelf who can't sing, he also gets a long part.

In the future I want to redo this with better drawings and probably different ocs.

I know myself and I will write a paragraph explaining why I chose who for each part, but I'll save everyone the lecture 😅

It’s many a moon since my last post. Here’s two gifs I made for IG reels. I unfortunately don’t know how to extract sound and make a proper video so these are the silent versions.

The first is from the, I’m Sat, meme/audio featuring young Bhihaar and Maeve. I forgot to add Bhihaar’s tattoos when I made this last month.

The second is just a small compilation of some wip’s I have…I have many many wip’s lol

Currently I’m working on a commission so I won’t post much until that piece is done, but I hope these two little gifs are enjoyable.

Happy Valentine’s/True Love’s Day

Here we have the wonderful and dear ships @jack-toons and I have; EnchantedSandstorms, OceanPetals, and WanderingSails. As well as introducing EnchantedSandstorms’ childling, Iry ,and WanderingSails childling, Zuri.

What most of these kisses have in common are that they are from romance movies my mom introduced to me lol EnchantedSandstorms are doing the end kiss from, Titanic. OceanPetals are doing a kiss from, Tristan’s and Isolde. And WanderingSails are doing a kiss from, The Notebook.

I imagine that these kisses happen when the pairs have been reunited after a long while. Especially EnchantedSandstorms and OceanPetals because neither Shiyoon nor Fleur join Cha’l or Razer on their voyages. Or maybe Shiyoon does, she gets along with Captain Sera lol. Fleur is afraid of big open water. The closest she’ll get to a boat ride is a small boat ride on the river or not far from the docks.

I think WanderingSails’ kiss might be their first kiss as an official couple because the two of them hung out a lot after meeting. They also weren’t shy of stealing a few kisses with one another.

OR! This is everyone’s first kiss that was shared out in public.

Iry and Zuri is referenced from the kiss in the movie, My Girl. I have never seen this movie though. The kiss between these two is probably Zuri saying that they should give each other their first kiss so they don’t give their first kiss to someone who they regret. Or maybe that was the plan but Zuri got the jitters and stopped it. Iry and Zuri have an interesting friendship, especially since their personalities are so different.

I love these ships! They are too precious and aahhh their stories are so good!

Happy Halloween/Thralloween everyone!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe celebration. To celebrate the festivities I share with you all OceanPetals, EnchantedSandstorms and WanderingSails all dressed up in cosplay.

I included the reference photos for the side by side of the originals. For some reason I couldn’t find a nice official Haruhi and Kyon full body to redraw (everything was fanart or the entire S.O.S Brigade) but I loved the pose from this cosplay.

Fleur and Razer are dressed up as Minmay and Hikaru from “Macross: Do you remember Love?”

Cha’l and Shiyoon are dressed up as Kyon and Haruhi from “Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya”

Sammi and Kiel are dressed up as Nezuko and Zenitsu from “Demon Slayer”

I could go on and on about why each is dressed in each costume but we’d be here all day lol

It all boils down to conversations me and @jack-toons had about our ships, anime, and modern au! EnchantedSandstorms being Haruhi/Kyon was my idea because Shiyoon loves anime and I remember when “Haruhi Suzumiya” was really big. I really like these cute sketches of the ships decked out in their best cosplays!

A while ago I answered some IG questions! Here are 2 of them featuring @smaaenart Podling Oc Velan who is Viara’s husband and their twins Kaj and Brin!

Now the Podling family has a fourth member in their daughter Neera. It’s a coincidence that Smaaenart suggested the name Neera because she was my favorite character in Disney’s Dinosaur. I swear that movie was my childhood omg!

Viara is super happy to have the family she’s always wanted and to share that with her father.

The second is on Kiel and Tau sharing a brain cell at the realization that Velan has kids. At the time both are surprised to know someone with kids. Idk if Cha’l and Shiyoon were expecting yet or if Kiel and Sammi had begun adopting. Regardless, Kiel and Tau are the most surprised lol

Close-up of a little destress sketch I did of Kiel (we can also see his partner, Sammi next to him but I’ll post another version of this soon. They can’t be separated lol)

Also this is a little bit of a chibi style (kinda) I’m a bit rusty but I still like how cute he came out. Maybe I’ll draw up another one with cuter poses. I also can’t wait to draw some chibis of some of my other Ocs! Especially Tau, my last drawing of them was a sketch from several months ago and they deserve a fresh look.

@imagin8 I interpreted this as my Gelfling Ocs lol

These were all done on my train rides the past two days (hence why I personally think Cha’l and Kiel look slightly off) I also added Viara because she was my second Dark Crystal Oc and she deserved to be included. Originally this was going to be most of my young adult ocs but then Ofir, Rizzi, Sera and Ortun said, “hold up! What about....us?”

I need to get back into human proportions because some of their noses are slightly off. I also have a ship I am getting tempted to draw from an anime I’ve watched and my IG feed shows me all the cutest drawings of them.

Maybe I’ll do some of the canon characters as humans. I’m afraid my interpretations of them won’t be so unique or something that hasn’t been done.

Anywho~ these are just a portion of my Gelfling (and one Podling) ocs as humans! I hope you all enjoy this!

This ship is too powerful! Their dynamic, height difference and opposite personalities are too strong! I have a lot of drawing planned out for them because they are too cute and how far they come as a couple and as Gelfling is, wow!

I would be curious about "11. What is their dream pet?" for any of your OCs! I'm not very familiar with the Dark Crystal OCs people have on here, but it's cool to see everybody having fun with them!

First off @urgohaway I love your paintings!

Second, thank you! Dark Crystal Ocs are so fun! If I could I would make a series of graphic novels lol

I have a ton of Ocs but I'll write for a few that connect with this question.

Fleur: Tumbeloths! She and her boyfriend have two. One was his surprise gift to her (but this tumbeloth Jujubee loves Razer more). The second is Jujubee's mate who they adopted into the family (his name is Fabio, and he likes Fleur more lol

For a long time Fleur wanted a Crystal Skimmer but that will be a dream to dream.

Cha'l: Muski and Fizzgig. Growing up Cha'l had a family Fizzgig named Piff but he would like one that is his own. He and his girlfriend/fiancé were on a quest to find a Muski. The Musli is more of her dream pet but Cha'l gets excited for her and the adventure they have.

Kiel: Lunarkin! As a childling he had a plush Lunarkin and boy did he love it! It became his favorite animal and by Thra he wanted one. But he knows it's impossible to own one so he and his partner, Sammi, enjoy watching them when they can.

Azra: Awlis (I hope I got the spelling right, it's the big black bird that can pick up an adult Podling) She wants one solely for that reason and because they look scary, Azra loves scary/frightening and creepy crawlies. She also would like to at least befriend a Ruswha, a predatory fish. She does own two Gigantic centipede-esque creatures and they are her babies.

Ofir: Literally anything fuzzy and cool tempered. Don't tell Piff though she will get jealous.

Tore: Rakkida. He just wants to be a show-off but isn't capable of dedicating time to any pet. He's also pretty scared of them but wants to one-up or be equal to Eri.

Elkie: A Hollarbat. She loves their colors but she doesn't know how to go about adopting one in the wild, yet.

Kenai: Pluff'M. He loves their colors and big eyes. He also fancies the idea of teaching it how to play the drums as well so they could put on performances for his girlfriend Quinta and her siblings.

I might reblog this answer with some of the others. I'm away from my Bestiary book at the moment and I got an idea for another Oc.

Kiel

3) Your Oc has the chance to to either grab pepper spray, a baseball bat, a knife or a shoe, which one would they grab?

Ooooh the pepper spray and the shoe are definitely two things he would pick up for a prank but if he had to choose one, he would definitely go for the shoe lol

Shoes are excellent hiding places for pranks on unsuspecting friends and captains!

7) If they had a chance to kill someone without being caught, would they? If so, who would it be?

Kiel doesn’t have a killing bone in his body although he would get back at enemies in a harsh way. Once the Garthim Wars happen, Kiel wouldn’t mind if he could kill one of the Skeksis without getting caught, he has a family to protect!

9) What would their username on tumblr be?

Kiel’s tumblr would be “Tro11M45t3r”

28) It’s a nighttime and the zombies are everywhere, your Oc is on the corner of a crowded city block all alone, how do they get off the street?

Idk if you have seen this zombie movie called “Shaun of the Dead” staring Simon Pegg (the voice of the Chamberlain in AoR) it’s a horror comedy and there’s a scene where everyone needs to pretend to be a zombie to get to a safe place....and it works! If the zombies are “dumb” like that Kiel would put on his best zombie performance.

If not he’s going full Walking Dead season 1 and covering his body in zombie guts lol

32) Your Oc has access to a boat and 5 million dollars, now what?

IT’S PARTY TIME!!!! Kiel would throw the biggest party on that boat (if the boat is big enough) He would celebrate all the great things that have happened for him; finding the love of his life, all the amazing friends he’s made, celebrating another trine of pranking Captain Ortun, the list goes on!

He’d also look to use some of the money to open up he and Sammi’s own little shop because eventually Kiel will leave the Sifan sailor life behind for a humble family life and explore the Great Skarith region with Sammi showing him their favorite places.

33) Your Oc accidentally dyed their hair purple, now what?

OMG Kiel would look at himself and then at Sammi and go; “Twinsies!” After throwing himself into a hug with them!

Fleur

4) It’s a sunny day outside, what is their reaction?

Sunny days are Fleur’s favorite days and she would spend that sunny day either surprising Razer with a picnic of baked goods she made if he’s not at sea.

Or

She would climb up the tallest tree she could find and free fall from the top or fly really fast up and free fall (kinda like Jim in one of the first scenes of Disney’s “Treasure Planet”

9) What would their tumblr username be?

Fleur’s Tumblr name would be either; “KissxFist” or “Fleur’s_Thorns”

25) They see a magical wand, do they touch it?

Yes! In a Modern Au Fleur would hope that some magical Fizzgig or Tumbeloth would give her super powers lol

31) What is your Oc’s go to dance move?

Fleur’s go to dance would be the samba!

34) What would your Oc’s reaction be if there was a giant dog that came to them with a huge bone as the dog wags their tail in excitement?

Her first reaction would be pure terror but when the dog drops the bone and wags their tail Fleur would start to baby talk to it!

“Awww you’re a friendly baby aren’t you? Yes you are! Yes you are!” And she would be in awe at the size of the bone the doggy brought and try to find a way to hide it in her bone collection! She would also try her hardest to convince Razer that this giant dog is their new fur baby lol

Cha’l

4) It’s a sunny day outside, what is their reaction?

Lol, Cha’l also enjoys a nice sunny day and the first thing that will pop up is if either Kiel or Shiyoon has a prank up their sleeves like;

“It’s beautiful out. The suns are shining, it’s so quiet....almost....too quiet”

If he hadn’t been pranked yet, he would find a nice shady spot and work on a special wood carving for Shiyoon.

9) What would their tumblr username be?

Cha’l’s username would probably be; “C00kingG0d” or “Sunsets-on-the-Ocean”

23) Would they much rather banter back and forth with their friends or talk about philosophy?

Omg it definitely depends, but I see Cha’l as the type who likes to have funny banter with his friends and family lol

30) Your Oc is scuba diving and comes across a mermaid, what next?

Cha’l would almost drown from getting surprised lol

He’s probably heard stories of mer-gelfs and when he actually sees one he’s blown away. He’d have to double check that the mer-Gelf isn’t Shiyoon because most/all Sifa see her as a siren and a Sea Witch.

35) A frog appears out of nowhere and starts to criticize their life choices, what does your Oc do?

Cha’l would look at the frog kinda offended and then make a call to attract an Awlis and go; “You were saying about my life choices?”
