What makes Leonardo da Vinci a member of team coffee?

I’ll be honest, I always knew he was a team coffee, he pretty much has the classic team coffee scenario all in one. Ask anyone who has played his route and I’m sure they would tell you one thing about the route, it’s bittersweet. Such a bittersweet feeling is exactly what makes up a team coffee member.

Now shall we break him down?

*spoilers*

Whenever the MC attempts to get to know Leonardo, he instantly covers it up and drives the conversation away from that topic. Such acting is commonly done by almost every team coffee member. Passing that check mark, we then have the whole biting situation in which he “attempts” to bite the MC. Of course, he doesn’t really pull through with it, but he needs to push the idea of how it actually is when he does it. At that moment the MC comes to her senses and sees that it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Taking that approach is not what a team coffee member normally wants, but they know it has to be done. So, team coffee often pushes it to make sure the other party understands it clearly.

Team coffee is described to be more mature compared to the other teams and he is. I think anyone can take one look and see how composed he is over the other residents there. Next is his natural charm. Team coffee is by far one of the hottest teams in the flavor of love series. A common feature for each of them is a natural charm that generates a flock of people to them. We have seen this in Leonardo’s story as people of all genders and ages have taken a liking to him.

Once he falls in love with MC, he is sweet but never too sweet to the point he is like a sugar daddy like his friend. Rather, Leonardo leaves you wanting more with each action he does, that in a sense creates an almost addicting feeling like coffee. Also, he is quite observant to his lover, which is a common trait among team coffee. Like most coffees, he will act upon his discovery of his lover. Say, if they are overworking themself Leonardo would bring his lover on a getaway trip.

Now we can’t skip out on how much of a tease Leonardo is of a guy, he knows how to play his cards well. There are many times in which he teases the MC, but as well as the other residents. That trait of his makes him a good match for those who have similar tendencies as we see with those close to him.

When you fall for a coffee, it gets a little too much for some, allow me to recommend something a bit sweeter to combat this. Team caramel has a nice balance of sweet and touching storyline, so I highly recommend Akito Kakiuchi from My Forged Wedding for some sweetness. If you want a bittersweet love like team coffee, then I recommend reading Ryoichi Hirose from Seduced in the Sleepless City.

What makes Vil Schoenheit a member of team coffee?

Part of the twisted wonderland bermuda triangle(other members include: Leona and Malleus) Vil is definitely a bitter and mature coffee flavor. Starting with the mature look, Vil tends to the needs of his responsibilities as a dorm leader but he goes the extra mile. Similar to how Heartslabyul has tons of rules, Vil keeps a strict regimen on his own dorm students. From meal plans to work out routines, Vil pays attention to every little detail. Although Epel finds it tiring and restricting, Vil does a great majority of it to unleash their full potential.

In other words, Vil believes that they can transform to something greater than what they are. The idea to not just change one but the whole dorm to be better, is a characteristic that adds to his maturity. In addition, during book 5, Vil actually cooked every meal that the MC/Yuu(as well as everyone else’s) ate while he stayed at their dorm.

Now to the bitter side of Vil’s love story.

In book 5 it is very present that Vil has a battle; it isn't an outer battle, it’s an inner battle, which is a trait that team coffee shares. Throughout book 5 we often see Vil tear himself down after seeing Neige. Now the problem isn’t with Neige at all, in fact Neige is very supportive of Vil. The inner battle is Vil’s lack of self confidence in himself, not the jealousy of Neige. Vil had gone through a lot in the past to create this unstable emotion in him but it isn’t all dark. Unlike the other overblotted characters Vil has garnered support from those around him.

Again, in team coffee, it’s commonly seen when someone has full support but they themself feel depressed. Firstly, we have Vil’s dad, his dad actually gives Vil a small pep talk to cheer him up in the flashback. Secondly, the entire team who was cheering Vil on and reassuring him that they can still win(this happens after they hear Neige’s song). Thirdly, Vil’s fanbase, although not brought up a whole lot we can definitely see that his fans are supportive of Vil no matter what he does.

Nevertheless, Vil still carries doubts about himself, even after he joins Neige on stage at the end, he still harbors that feeling. This actually tells us about how much of a coffee Vil is. Bringing up some points I made in the in-depth description for coffee, I mentioned them being broken. While it is sad to say, Vil is broken on the inside. Yet on the outside he hides it behind a mask or stores the true feeling away. Which is once, again a very coffee-like thing to do.

Ryoichi Hirose from Seduced in the Sleepless City is a high contender for those who enjoyed book 5. Ryoichi is full of insecurities, hotness, and he really treasures his MC. Now he is quite frisky unlike Vil but out of everyone on team coffee I feel that he and Vil share a lot in common. Both of them have support from others but carry a certain uneasiness about themself. With Ryoichi you are sure to be swept off your feet with every twist and turn.

Hyogo Kaga from Her Love in the Force is another man to watch out for. In terms of similarities, Hyogo and Vil both strive for their students to be better even if they’re harsh. Plus, I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this but Vil has a slight tsundere side and so does Hyogo. For people who are fans of Vil I highly recommend you check them out, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
