Opening up as a victim of investment scam

I came across a post on Instagram that shows a person showing off tons of money. I went to the user's profile and their bio claims that they're a crypto/forex trading expert. Their posts mostly consist of people showing off large sums of money.

I DM'd the user on Monday and they replied the following day. They explained to me that I need 2 e-wallets to transfer funds to other accounts and I need to register an investment account. So I did that and the amount that I transferred was $500. We moved our conversation to WhatsApp.

The agreement was to pay 10% commission fees while 90% of the profits go to the client. Tuesday was when my $500 became around $2000. Wednesday was when my profits went up to $13k then $18k then $32k. I got stressed out paying the commission fees because of the transfer limits of my bank accounts. I told the trader that I'm satisfied with what I have and I didn't want to see it go up any further.

They disregarded what I said because it ballooned to $54k on Thursday. I struggled with paying more commission fees and on the afternoon, I completed paying the remaining fees and as the trader was about to process the withdrawal request, they claimed that there was an error because the profits skyrocketed to $103,700.11 (I had a feeling they did that on purpose).

I was so distraught that he demanded me to pay more commission fees and to accomplish it by 10pm which was impossible. I couldn't afford it anymore and it took a toll on my mental health because of how they kept on invalidating my feelings. I ended up blocking the trader on WhatsApp and Instagram.

I couldn't get back the money that I sent to various numbers/accounts. I lost approximately $5k to $6k. I saved a lot of screenshots of our messages and posted them on my Facebook profile for my friends to see. I cried last night because I was mad at myself that I fell for something that's too good to be true.

One friend of mine saw my post and suggested that I should report the numbers to the police. I don't know how as this is my first time being a victim. I don't even have the courage yet because I have this assumption that despite having the screenshots as evidence, the authorities wouldn't believe me.

This stressful and traumatic experience was a learning lesson for me. It made me have a different outlook on money and a negative impression towards cryptocurrency and NFTs.

To the people who read this, please don't make the same mistake. Put your hard-earned money in a safe place where no one would touch it. If you want to make money work for you instead of working for it, investing in the stock market would be the best and stable option.

Scammers posing as victims in Palestine

Hello, recently two supposed victims from Palestine messaged me asking for support and to donate. I was suspicious because of the way they spoke, so I asked my best friend about it and it turns out they were scammers posing as victims. @casserolean (THANKS BRO!!)

I'm just posting this so that people are aware of this and thankfully don't fall for it. Here's the accounts that messaged me:

Live in Reality: You Would Not Want a Friend Like Penelope

I can’t with people talking bout Cressida is meaner than Penelope or that Cressida is a bully and Eloise is a bad person for befriending Cressida. The difference is Cressida is upfront with her mean girl attitude. She isn’t two-faced and would let you know upfront that she doesn’t fuck with you, totally opposite from Penelope who would write the muddiest of shit about you behind your back and feel absolutely no remorse, while on top of that gaslighting into believing she’s the victim.

Unless you’re a masochist, who would want a friend who smiles in your face but has secretly been resenting you and your family for years, has been tricking and lying to you for years; the friend has been disrespecting your family behind your back, gaslights you, is jealous of you every waking moment, always singing the same “woe is me, life is unfair” song to you but accuses you of being a bad friend, betrays your trust, thinking that hurting you even is a viable option, throws you under the bus to save their own neck and tries to manipulate it as they were trying to “help” or “save” you.

Anyone with a well-adjusted mind who has a friend or who sees a love one have a friend such as that will immediately take the action of cutting them off, despite any history, despite the memories, we would clearly think that a friend as toxic as that is not a good friend or rather a good person to be around.

So why does the individual who has been dealt with such a friend has to apologize or accept the toxic’s friend past and current bullshit. Does it make sense that that individual who has been treated like that by the toxic friend apologize to the toxic friend?

That’s y’all’ logic when it comes to Eloise and Penelope.

When you holler your chewbacca war cry in defense of Penelope, you are rooting for that toxic friend I have explained earlier knowing damn well that if someone like that was in your life or in the life of someone you deeply care for, you would NOT be associating with them or advise others not to.

But Eloise mustn’t be upset and must accept Pen’s hollow apology despite all the things that she has objectively done because…🤷🏾‍♂️ we’re not allowed to be mad at the plus size character cause she’s plus size, that’s the reason people are mainly giving me.

Who cares about size? A toxic person is A TOXIC PERSON: short, tall, small, curvy, a person’s character isn’t defined or should be given a free pass because of their appearance. That’s what you guys are doing with Penelope and it’s insane dawg 😭. You can’t attack people for focusing on her size when YOU FOCUS ON IT!
