In sunny Singapore, two mischievous boys named Kayden and Nathan loved McDonald’s fries. They were always ready for an adventure and craved the crispy, golden goodness of the fries. Little did they know, their love for fries was about to reach a new level with the arrival of McDonald’s McShaker™ Fries.

With the reappearance of the Samurai (Burger), a shadowy figure in hot pursuit had materialized, cladded in black (charcoal) buns, crispy chicken patty coated in sweet Nanban sauce and topped with the refreshing crunchy white cabbage coleslaw and sliced cucumbers. It would seem that McDonald’s Singapore had also brought back the Ninja Chicken Burger! So, presenting you my Ninja Chicken Special (S$10.75) with the burger, large Seaweed McShaker Fries and a small iced green tea. I also purchased the White Peach Yoghurt Pie (S$1.80) though in a generic looking cardboard sleeve.
The sexy looking Ninja Chicken Burger with charcoal and sesame seeds buns sandwiching a thick deep-fried chicken patty with sweet Nanban sauce drizzled over plus creamy coleslaw and sliced cucumbers. The battered chicken is crispy yet juicy with a savoury sweetness to it from the sauce. Between the Samurai and Ninja burgers, I preferred the latter as it is offered different levels of texture coupled with refreshing crisp vegetables.

The long awaited Samurai is back in town - Samurai Burger (サムライバーガー) from McDonald's Singapore that is. Back in store for a limited time from Sept 22 onwards. It is available in beef or chicken and in single or double patties versions. The burger’s sidekick, Seaweed Mcshaker Fries is back as well.
I got both burger and fries in the Samurai Beef Special (S$10.55) set meal. It came with a single patty Samurai Beef Burger, the all-time favourite, golden-crisp Seaweed McShaker Fries and ice green tea. The grilled beef patty is dipped in teriyaki sauce and topped with crispy lettuce and a drizzle of mayonnaise. Pour in the fries and seaweed seasoning into the provided paper bag and give it a few shakes. Enjoy.
For mum, I got her the ala carte Samurai Chicken Burger (S$6.80). A whole piece of tender boneless chicken dipped in teriyaki sauce topped with lettuce and mayonnaise in sesame buns. Kind of messy to eat with the sauce dripping but tasty nonetheless.
For dessert, we got the Hojicha Twist Cone and Hojicha Cone (S$1.20 each). The Japanese roasted tea soft serve ice cream is so aromatic. Go for the single flavour and not the dual flavours version so the vanilla half don’t dilute the tea taste.

Hot on the heels of the Samurai Burger (サムライバーガー), a dark shadow appears in a puff of smoke! It’s marked the return of the Ninja Chicken Burger (ニンジャバーガー) from McDonald's Singapore. Unlike the former, only the chicken version is available.
Got the Ninja Chicken Special (S$10.75) set which came with the above mentioned burger, a large Seaweed McShaker Fries and a small ice green tea. This tasty burger features a crispy chicken patty slathered in sweet Nanban sauce with cabbage, cucumber and tartar sauce sandwiched between two distinctive black charcoal buns. As usual, eating it is a messy process with the sweet and tangy sauce all over the hands. Between the Samurai and Ninja burgers, I preferred the later as it offered me a better tasting treat.
