Happy Birthday
Based on the headcannon that Sirius ran away on Reggie's birthday
..............................................................................................
Sirius stared at the open trunk in front of him. He had already packed everything he needed, arranged everything with James and was ready to leave this shitty excuse of a family. He didn’t care about getting disowned or burned from the stupid family tree, he only cared about being finally free, about finally finding a loving and happy family.
But yet, there was something stopping him. Something that had had him hesitating about his decision for the past 20 minutes. Why couldn't he leave? It was as easy as going through the door, and if he was lucky, he would do that unnoticed. This wasn't just a silly prank like the ones he always did at Hogwarts, this was going to define his future, so he took the time to make a Plan B, and a Plan C and a Plan D, although he hoped that he wouldn't have to recur to those.
"Come on, Sirius. It has been your dream to leave since you were 11, so just fucking do it" He told himself. With a slightly shaky breath, he closed the trunk and was ready to grab his wand, which was lying on the ground, but then he heard a knock on the door.
"Sirius," A voice said on the other side of the door. Sirius' heart suddenly dropped to the ground, "Mother says you should come down. We are about to eat the cake" Regulus said, and Sirius noted sadness in his voice.
Silence. Suddenly he didn't know what to say, so he just stood there, in the middle of his now empty room (except for the wall decorations, purposely left there). He knew Regulus was still there, and Sirius had the urge to at least do something, to let his brother know that he was there, like he always did. He rushed towards the door, but stopped himself before grabbing the doorknob. After a second or two of hesitating, he finally opened it.
Regulus' eyes lit up when he saw his brother, although his expression stayed the same. He had barely come out of his room for the entire day, only early in the morning before everyone else was awake to wish Regulus a happy birthday. He had missed his birthday lunch and dinner—neither brother ever got to have a birthday party, so a family dinner was as far as they got—and had spent the entire day packing his stuff.
So, that was what was keeping Sirius from leaving. His brother. His little brother (Not so little anymore, though. He was already fourteen). He couldn't just leave him. Not when he had spent his entire life protecting him, trying to guide him into the right path instead of the one that his parents wanted him to go through. Yes, things had gotten quite difficult now that Voldemort was becoming more powerful everyday, but Sirius had never stopped loving or caring for his little brother, and was sure Regulus felt the same.
"Reggie" Sirius said, trying to smile, although he found it quite hard. He wanted to say a million more things to him, but he didn't have the courage to say them. "Come with me, let's leave this house together" "Don't stay" "I'm sorry. For everything"  "Happy Birthday" "I love you".
"So… are you coming or not?" Regulus asked, and Sirius snapped back to reality, and looked at his brother in the eyes. He couldn't leave him behind, but how was he going to tell him? He was aware of the fact that Regulus had been manipulated by his parents to always be against his brother, so it was expected for him to react badly to the proposal. But instead, Sirius did what he best knew what to do: Fuck things up.
"I’m leaving" Sirius said, and Regulus looked at him in confusion.
"What?" He asked
"I'm leaving," Sirius repeated.
"What?" Regulus asked now in disbelief. Sirius felt a pang of pain in his heart as he watched his brother realize that it was not a joke, and that he was actually leaving, “W...Where? Why?”
“Well, it was obvious that at one point I would finally get fed up with our parents' bullshit, and that moment is now.” Sirius said, “I’m going to...to James’ ”
“Of course you are” Regulus muttered, his eyes flashing with anger, but his voice flooded by disappointment.
“Co...Come with me, Reg. We can live together and have a life of our own,” The oldest brother suggested, grabbing his little brother by the shoulders, but Regulus quickly shook him off.
“Are you… are you out of your mind?” Regulus said, angrily, “We wouldn't last two seconds outside before having hundreds of aurors looking for us… and...and you can't just leave like that!”
“Yes I can.” Sirius replied dryly, “And I swear we will be safe at James’ house with his family. We can have the life we always wanted, Reggie…”
“The life you always wanted, just because you were too blinded by your ego to realize that our parents only wanted us to be safe and successful!” Regulus interrupted him, and Sirius noted his eyes glimmering with tears. One part of Sirius wanted to scream to his little brother, to make him finally realize the truth, to wake him up from whatever their parents had poisoned Regulus mind with, but the other half wanted to stay just for him, wanted to go downstairs and finally act like the rightful heir of the Black family, just for Regulus.
“Reggie, please…”
“Don't call me that.”
“...Just, think about it. A life away from mother and father. You wouldn't have to be stressed all the time, you wouldn't have to carry such pressure over your shoulders. You wouldn't have to become them, you wouldn't have to join the Dark Lord! Think about it!” Regulus stayed quiet for a few seconds, seeming to have an internal war with himself. Sirius suddenly felt a flash of hope that maybe he had managed to convince his brother with that last idea, but then Regulus stood up straighter and his jaw clenched.
“You don't know anything about what I want” He answered.
“For fuck sake, Regulus!” Sirius snapped, starting to lose patience, “Wake up! Cant you realize you are being fucking manipulated by them?!”
“I'm perfectly capable of realizing when someone is using me, and that would not be the case in here!” His brother answered back, “You always talk about mother and father like they are the fucking devil himself, when everything they always wanted was just for us to be safe and to know what is best for us!”
“That's what they want you to think! They just want you to become like them, they just want you to lead you to a path that will make you unhappy. It's not too late to change everything. Just come with me! We can be happy with James and his family, we can form a new family!”
“Oh, its always about fucking James!” Regulus snapped, “James this, James that, James told me this…You seem to prefer him as your brother better than me!” Regulus shouted, pronouncing James’ name like it was poison, and Sirius said nothing for the next few seconds. Regulus was panting with anger, his fist clenched and a storm being unleashed in his grey eyes. Sirius’ blood was boiling by this point, and he didn’t see the point on continuing arguing, not when Regulus was this reluctant to open his fucking eyes for just one time.
“Fine,” Sirius managed to say, “Then stay the fuck alone in this house” He stormed back into his room, grabbed his wand and quickly casted a levitation charm on his trunk, not caring about the fact that he would most likely get a warning from the ministry. The ministry could suck his dick. He went out of his room again, his trunk following him floating a few inches from the ground, Regulus just standing there. He snapped back to reality once his older brother was already a few steps down the stairs.
“Sirius, please!” He said, grabbing his brother's wrist, but Sirius quickly let go, not bothering to look back, “Please, think about it!” His voice was now almost like a whisper, pain managing to creep through it.
“I’ve already thought plenty about this, Regulus, '' Sirius simply replied. His brother followed him down the other three flights of stairs, saying things that Sirius chose to ignore, as much as it hurted his heart deep down. He could hear the voices of his family members—ex family members— in the dining room, and that somehow encouraged him to leave faster. He reached the entrance hall and opened the front door. Rain was pouring outside, but that didn't stop him.
Sirius started walking quickly towards the sidewalk, his hair getting wet and falling over his shoulders due to the rain, his clothes getting soaked wet. “Wait!” Regulus called for him. Sirius stopped on his track and turned around to face him, surprised to see that he was running after him. He stopped, and both brothers looked in the eye.
“Please. You can't leave… You can't leave me” Regulus pleaded, his voice low and looking down to his feet. Sirius' expression softened a little, realizing this was his last chance to save his little brother.
“Then come with me, Reg” Sirius answered, this time in a softer tone, “I promise, everything we’ll do, we will do it together. I’ll never leave you alone, Reg. I swear”
“Then don’t leave!” Regulus shouted back. They were both now soaking wet, and Regulus had started to shiver a little, so he hugged himself in an attempt to cover his arms from the cold. Sirius felt the impulse to hug him and protect him from the cold, to protect him from the world, but he remained on his spot, looking at his brother.
“I have to, Regulus! I don't want to keep living on like this. I want to be free and to be whoever the fuck I want and to be surrounded by the people i love!” Sirius answered, and Regulus stared back, his eyes reflecting the moment his heart shattered, begging him to stay.
“Stay for me. I need you” He whispered, the sound of his voice slowly fading away with the pouring rain. Those words hit Sirius like a trainwreck.
“I won't stay, I’ve already told you that!” Sirius managed to say, although he hated himself. Of course the last thing he wanted was to leave his little brother behind, but he was just so tired and the only thing that he wanted to do was arrive to the Potter’s, where he knew he would always be welcomed, “If you so desperately want to be with me, then just fucking come with me!”
“I can't, Sirius. I can't!” Regulus shouted, “I cant.” He repeated himself, this time in a lower voice. Maybe he was waiting for Sirius to keep insisting, but he didn't. He made a decision, one that he would later come to regret the prior years. One that the cold and lonely cell in Azkaban would make him hate himself for. But the past can’t be undone, and with just three simple words, Regulus life was ruined forever.
“Then I'm sorry” Sirius said, “I really am, Reggie”
A sob escaped from Regulus lips, and a tear fell from his eyes, although it mixed with the raindrops that were falling down his cheeks. The brothers locked eyes for one last time. One last time, and they both understood that this was the end of it. Of everything.
“Happy birthday” Sirius said, and started walking away from the house, from his childhood, from his suffering, from his brother.

“christ can you put some clothes on?” for jily 💖
“Christ, can you put some clothes on?” Lily always used Muggle turns of phrase when she was most annoyed.
James opened his mouth to say something, but Sirius beat him to it.
“What?” Sirius looked up ‘innocently.’ “It’s shirts versus skins, Evans, unless you’d prefer to play skins —”
She hit him over the head with the end of her broom, muttering a swift and pointed, “No, thank you.”
Lily didn’t want to play Quidditch, not really, but from the moment McGonagall saw the way she played Seeker in a skirmish in the First Year flying lessons, she’d had her eye on her. By the Second Year, Lily spent the allowance she’d saved up to buy her own broom because having her own broom meant freedom until she could learn to apparate in the Seventh Year.
By the Third Year, she’d grown fed up with the all-male Quidditch team Gryffindor had and tried out with Marlene. Lily was offered the position of Seeker and immediately turned it down. She had proven her point and she didn’t actually want to play. Then Black had called her too chicken to play a real game, and, well, it escalated from there.
Now, she was in her Fifth Year and they’d won the cup two years running. The core team was training with the reserves for the first match of the year against Slytherin.
Lily really wished they’d put some damn clothes on. She was a Seeker, which meant she had to watch the pitch. It had never been a problem before, but James had come back from his summer in Italy with more than a tan. He’d come back aggravatingly fit. No fifteen-year-old should be allowed to have arms or abs like that. Most fifteen-year-olds followed this rule. Of course, James was a Marauder, and that meant he broke all the rules. (Sirius was fit too, possibly more than James, but unlike most girls at Hogwarts, Lily couldn’t imagine being attracted to Sirius with the way he spoke to her.)
“Evans! Brown!” yelled their captain, O’Malley. “I swear I saw the snitch fly past us at least twice since we started!”
Lily grimaced and tried to focus, but it was no use. After O’Malley called her out, James actually turned to look at her every so often with those big hazel eyes of his. He shot her an encouraging smile four times. Her stomach felt like she’d just done a Wronski feint.
In the end, Brown, who was playing skins with James, Sirius, and O’Malley, caught the snitch. The worst part was, he wasn’t even that good.
“Alright, Evans?” James watched her studiously as they dismounted. He was still shirtless and now they were close enough that Lily could see the beads of sweat traveling from his brow, down his jaw, to his collarbones and lower…
“Fine,” she grumbled, turning away, her cheeks going red to match her hair.
Before the next practice match later in the day, James put on a plain white t-shirt because the air was getting nippy, and miraculously, Lily caught the snitch five minutes in.
thank you for asking, anon! hope you liked it! xx
and thank you to the (other? same?) anon to requested jily on the quidditch team (i’m still gonna write your prompt, don’t worry, darling xx)

Baptize Me (T, 2k)
on AO3
Regulus woke, terrified again, screaming at the nightmare that would probably plague him for the rest of his life. As with every night, he was momentarily disoriented, looking around in confusion at the softly decorated room, pale walls offset by the rich raspberry furnishings. He was settling back onto the mounds of comfortable cushions littering the bed, taking deep breaths to calm himself, when the door opened and a woman with long red hair stood in the light from the landing, rubbing sleep from her eyes.
"Regulus," her voice was as comforting as the room. And familiar. "Was it the dream again?"
He swallowed his remaining fear and nodded, watching as she made her way across the room to sit on the edge of his bed, taking his hand in hers and studying his face with kind, green eyes.
"Lily," he breathed in recognition, leaning forward to wrap his arms around her, taking comfort in her steady presence. "I woke you, didn't I? You don't have to always come in here. I think you'd be doing it the rest of your life if you did."
"Yeah, well just be glad you got me and not James, he's a grumpy bugger when he's just woken up." Her laugh was light, and it added an extra glint to her eyes.
"Do you want to talk about it?" she asked him, her voice taking on a more sombre tone. "If it'll help, you know."
Regulus just shook his head. "It's exactly the same as all the other nights I've been here, Lils. I don't know why you don't just turn me out with Sirius."
"Because you've got a price on your head, silly," she says, mussing up his dark, Black family hair. "You're safest here."
He'd been there, in Godrics Hollow, staying with James and Lily Potter for about a month now, every night waking from the same dream, the same nightmare of what might have happened had Kreacher not managed to pull him out of that cave.
He had given the locket to the wizened house elf and begged him to go, to destroy it, yelling what he was sure would be his final orders as the Inferi dragged his weakened body further into the water. Kreacher had surprised him by appearing in the water beside him and dragging him through the ether, with magic unique to house elves, back to Grimmauld Place. One second, Regulus' lungs had been filling with icy water and the next, he had been coughing it up onto Sirius' old, dusty, scarlet bed cover.
"Sirius' room?" he had questioned Kreacher between his wracking coughs. "I won't be able to get out of here, the door's locked."
"No, but I will." Regulus had jumped at the sound of his brother's voice, gravelly from those muggle things he insisted on smoking. "Kreacher," he greeted the house elf cordially before thanking him for something. "I'll take him from here. And the locket too."
Sirius had wrapped a leather-clad arm around Regulus' waist and held out a hand which Kreacher dropped the locket into, then twisted on the spot, apparating them both to Godrics Hollow. There, Remus had fed him chocolate and healed the deep wound he had cut in his palm, while Lily wrapped her arms around his shoulders and James tried to get Sirius to stop pacing a hole in the carpet.
He had barely seen Sirius or Remus since then, the two of them always out on missions for the Order, reluctant to visit for fear of leading the Death Eaters to Regulus. Lily told him one evening that the intensity and frequency of the missions had increased since Regulus had found the locket. It had been destroyed by Dumbledore almost immediately, but it had also confirmed a theory he had that there were more like it out there, hidden in various objects the Dark Lord had felt an affinity with. So, the Order members had been sent off to recover them, James and Lily staying behind to protect Regulus following his defection.
Truthfully, it made him feel a little guilty because James definitely did not enjoy being cooped up in the one place. Obviously, he would have preferred an active mission with his best friends but, when Regulus broached these concerns with him, James had just clapped him on the shoulder.
"Of course I would, mate, but Lily's my number one now. Wherever she is, I will be too and right now, that is here, protecting my best mate's little brother. We're all lucky to have her, don't you think."
And that was exactly what Regulus did think. How could he not when she was here, comforting him after his nightmares yet again, willing to protect him with her life if necessary whenever the Death Eaters decided to come calling.
"Thank you, Lily," he said to her now. "I don't know what I would do without you. I always wake up just as they drag me under and then you're always here, in the doorway with your hair like fire. That's the only way to kill them you know."
"I know," she told him, voice soft as she smiled at him. "Get some rest now, Regulus. Do you want some Dreamless Sleep?"
He shook his head. "No, thank you. It makes me feel funny. I don't like being unaware."
"Alright then. I'll leave the landing light on though. Good night."
"Good night, Lily," he said as she walked out the door.
Regulus tried to get to sleep again, he really did, but after a while he found himself turning to books again to occupy his mind. He had read all the books on the shelves in his room and had finished the one he'd come to bed with. So, he slipped his feet into the slippers by the side of his bed and made his way downstairs to the living room which had bookshelves either side of the fireplace.
He noticed that one particular book had been pulled free of the others and lay flat on the front of one of the shelves. Picking it up, the red, leather-bound book was no bigger than his hand. The pages, edged in red, were so thin that they appeared almost translucent and the writing upon them was tiny, an effort to fit so many words into such a small book. Regulus finished flipping quickly through the pages and ran his thumb thoughtfully over the symbol debossed into the cover.
Making his decision, he curled his legs up under him in the large armchair with the deep, comfortable seat and pulled the crochet blanket over to cover them, intrigued by the small book. He was even more intrigued when he opened it to the title page only to find ‘Lily Evans' scrawled in childish handwriting in the top right corner.
It seemed a very strange book for Lily to have had as a child. The passages were numbered strangely and different parts of it seemed to have been written by different people. Some of the themes it dealt with were also bizarre material for a child, but it ultimately appeared to be about the same main characters. Unfortunately, even his confusion at the strange stories couldn't ward off tiredness for long and that was how Lily found him in the morning, still with her small book held loosely in his grasp.
"Regulus," she shook him awake. "Regulus, I need that book today."
"Huh," he rubbed his eyes and yawned before attempting to shake himself awake. "Oh, morning Lils. Sorry, I found it last night when I couldn't sleep."
Lily chuckled softly and Regulus noticed that she was already dressed for the day in a knee-length woollen skirt, white cotton shirt and stockings. Stockings. Now that was a far cry from the Lily he had come to know. She even had a blazer of some sort flung over her forearm.
"Yes, it probably is one of the best books to use as a sleep aid. Now come on, I need it." She held out a hand to him.
"Are you going somewhere?" He asked, thinking that was the only reason for her attire.
"Yes, somewhere I haven't been able to go for a while."
"Out?" Regulus was confused. They were safe here. Why was she going somewhere?
"Yes, out." Lily rolled her eyes at him, so he scowled and handed her the book. "You don't have to worry, Reg. I'm going to transfigure my appearance a bit. You could come too if you wanted and Remus will be there. That's the only reason I'm willing to go this week."
Regulus perked up a bit hearing Remus would be there. "Will Sirius be there too?"
Lily just smiled amusedly. "No, he doesn't hold with what we're going to do. Neither does James. He thinks it's stupid we still go."
"Go where?" Regulus scowled and quirked an eyebrow.
"I guess you could say we're going to discuss the contents of this book," she said, holding it up slightly. "It can be a great relief in burdensome times. A habit left over from my upbringing in the muggle world."
"Okay then," Regulus agreed, thoroughly intrigued. "Let me get dressed. I'll be quick."
"You'll need a muggle suit. I think there's one in the wardrobe in the spare room," she called after him as he ran up the stairs.
Twenty minutes later, Regulus was sat on an uncomfortable wooden bench in a large, single-roomed building full of muggles, wearing a muggle suit charmed to fit him and transfigured slightly to mute his distinctive looks. Lily, too, was sporting brown hair now rather than fiery red and her bright green eyes were a fairly ordinary hazel. Remus, on his other side, couldn't hide his magical scars but he had adjusted the shape of his facial features just to throw them off a bit and was now leaning forward with his elbows on the shelf in front of him that was attached to the back of another bench, hands pressed together in front of him, head bowed.
Lily was pointing out different parts of the building to him even though he couldn't understand a majority of the terms she used, but he could still appreciate the simplistic beauty of a few of the pieces, especially the windows. She had only just finished explaining who the people depicted in one of the windows were when a man in white and black robes came to stand at the front of the room, his arms raised asking for silence.
As soon as everyone began speaking in unison of sins, repentance and forgiveness, Regulus could feel a warmth starting to radiate through his chest. Then there was a sort of song called a hymn that Regulus could only mumble along to but that filled his heart with hope. It was strange really, that this meeting of people felt so different from the meetings of Death Eaters he'd been present at, even though this group also seemed to be praising a single entity. There was no fear here, no oppression. The acts of the entity that the robed man spoke of reminded him a bit of magic and he glanced curiously to Lily who smiled at him and lifted her shoulders in a shrug.
When everyone in the building bowed their heads as Remus had done earlier, Regulus followed suit and listened to the soothing voice wash over him as it spoke of the vulnerable and the downtrodden, of the lonely and the meek. He found himself joining in easily and emotion was starting to prickle the back of his throat, so much so that he couldn't keep the tune of the next hymn properly. Then, Lily pulled him up to the front of the room, towards the robed man with everyone else. He was slightly nervous now because the man had begun talking about body and blood, and Regulus had had enough bad experiences with that, but Lily reassured him it was just bread and wine, symbolising an oath, so he would just kneel for a blessing.
A blessing. Him. Regulus Black received a blessing from a muggle, and that had really put him in danger of the prickle at the back of his throat becoming tears he could barely hold back. What ended up pushing him over the edge though, just a few moments later, were the dozens of muggles, men, women and children, who grasped his hand and wished for peace to be upon him.
He didn't hear any more of the meeting after that. Not even the final hymn as the emotions had risen in him to become a river of tears that would not stop flowing. All he could do was take comfort, once again, in Lily's arms and remember this new, overwhelming feeling of peace and forgiveness that he had found.

~Master List~
Requests are closed
You were making your way to your common room after breakfast with your book in your hand, barely paying attention to the people around you. You did this often, reading while walking, and people pretty much knew to lookout for you whenever they saw. People were pretty helpful like that, moving you or others out of the way if you were going to collide or giving you a swift turn when they knew you were headed to a certain class and were going to miss the hallway. Everyone was watching out for you, well almost everyone.
“Oh!” You groaned as your butt hit the floor, your book spun across the ground before a hand stopped it. You looked up before meeting the brown eyes you’ve grown to hate. “Ugh. It’s you.” You grumbled as you pushed yourself up sticking a hand out to Remus to get your book back. He gave you a forced smile before turning heel and walking away, your book tucked in his arms. You rolled your eyes, walking after him as he begun to walk backwards.
“You know Y/L/N, people tend to walk better when they’re not nose deep in a book.” He jokes as you mocked the smirk on his face.
“You know Lupin, people tend to read better when their books aren’t held hostage.” You both came to a stop at the Fat Lady and Remus looked down at the book.
“Advanced Potions? We don’t take that for another year. Or do you Slytherins find yourselves in different classes?” He raised his eyebrow as you snatched your book away.
“If you must know, I’m reading it for fun. Now I get to ask, why are you like this with me? I see you with everyone else yet you’re only a pompous ass when you’re with me.” You pointed out as he laughed. You hated that laugh, it meant he knew something you didn’t and god only knows how many times you hear that laugh. You bit the inside of your cheek before turning around making your way back to the Slytherin Common Room.
Remus watched you leave as a victorious smile crossed his face and he entered the common room. His eyes fell onto his best friends. Peter and Sirius were face first on the floor talking as James tried flirting with Lily again. Remus took the seat opposite of them and Sirius moved himself onto his elbows and peered up at the boy.
“Tormenting Y/L/N again?” He asked as everyone turned to look at him, taking in the smile plastered on his face. Remus just furrowed his brows and crossed his arms, glancing around at his amused friends.
“How’d you know?” Everyone basically groaned as Sirius shot him an Are-you-kidding-me look.
“Mate its all you ever do now a days.” James spoke as Lily nodded her head.
“Honestly, it’s either you torment her or she torments you. And whenever you’re not with us-“
“You’re with her.” Peter interrupts Sirius as they both nod. Soon all four of them are doing it and Remus couldn’t help but sink into his chair a little. Was he really like this? Sure he treated you differently, but he always chalked it up to loving your reaction. You were always one to sass him back or something and Remus always thought he liked seeing you worked up. He hadn’t realized that he in fact spent so much time with you.
You hadn’t realized it either, but Remus was soon taking up all your thoughts. You couldn’t even look at your Advanced Potions book as you tossed onto your bedside table because all you saw was Remus smug expression. It made your stomach churn.
Lucky for you, the next few days were spent Lupin free, just how you preferred. You made your way into the library with the potion book in hand, finally finished and ready to turn in. You had some spare time today so you made your way through the aisles of books, scanning for anything really before a certain conversation started playing on the other side of the rack.
“I swear I didn’t know it was Moony’s chocolate when I ate it!” A voice you recognized as Sirius Black’s said as you shook your head, trying to block them out at the nicknamed mention of Remus. You drifted your fingers across the books in hopes of hurrying up before you heard someone else talk, who you rightfully guessed as James.
“Yeah, well who else’s could it of been Padfoot! Remus is the only one who saves his chocolate for when he wolf’s out! It doesn’t matter, Full Moon is Monday, just go to Hogmeade tomorrow and replace it.” Your interest was peaked the moment they said “wolfs out” but by the time they were finished talking your mouth just about hit the floor and you were staring off into space. You hadn’t seen the two figures turn the corner and stop when they saw you. You met their eyes before dropping the book you once had a tight hold on and sprinting out of the library.
James turned to Sirius, slightly urgency in his voice. “Do you think she heard us?”
Sirius rolled his eyes as he stared at his best friend. “No I think the girl just likes running.” He deadpanned before pulling James sleeve and taking off after you. The only problem was after you bolted from the library, he had no idea where you went. They were about to run to their room and use the map to find you until a pair of hands landed on their shoulders. They both whipped their heads around, hoping to find you but instead finding the one person they were dreading talking to.
“What’s wrong?” Remus questioned as he looked between the two, he knew something was wrong as they both were panting and practically jumped out of their skin. Sirius gulped, taking a step closer to Remus as he looked down at the floor.
“It’s Y/N.”
You didn’t know where you were going, honestly you just needed to get out of there. Remus was a werewolf. Like an actual werewolf! You didn’t want to believe it, you wanted to just think that Sirius and James were messing with you or they were talking about something else. You paused in your step, closing your eyes as everything finally started to make a little more sense. The scars on his face. The once a month he seemed to be even more intolerable. Hell even the damn nickname! But the more you thought about it, the more you wanted to wrap your head around it. You found yourself alone in the courtyard, no one else around so you took a seat on one of the benches. You rested your elbows on your knees as you buried your head in your hands. You didn’t know how long you sat like that until rapid footsteps behind you caused you to shoot up. Remus was practically sprinting towards you, James and Sirius not far behind. Your eyes widened before your back hit the wall behind you, Remus towering over you. James and Sirius began to move to pull him off you as you shook your head.
“It’s fine. I got this.” You assured them as they took a few weary steps back, obviously not trusting you and Remus together. Remus was furious, his eyes darted between yours as he tried to hold back his anger.
“So what are you gonna do now? Huh? Tell everyone? Let everyone know my secret? Oh no better yet, tell no one until I least suspect it then drop the bomb?” He seethed as you took in his words. You looked over his face, his eyes covered in a faint line of unshed tears as he pursed his lips together.
“No.” You answered truthfully. So many thoughts were rushing through your head, but not one of them involved sharing Remus’ secret to the world.
Remus shakes his head, “You know what Y/L/N- wait did you say no? You’re not going to tell anyone?” He pushes himself away from the wall and your body as you nod your head. He searches your eyes for any chance you could be lying but finds none. “Why not?”
“Why do you care? Its not my secret. It’s not my place to tell anyone.” You snap as James and Sirius go all protective mode again. This time it was Remus who told them it was okay, then telling them to leave you alone for a bit. You wanted to protest, to just let this conversation die but sadly that doesn’t look to be in the cards. Remus turned back to face you, a look of surprise still written across his face.
“I just- I don’t know what to say.” With that, you rolled your eyes, pushing past Remus as you head back towards the castle, talking with your back to him.
“Everyone’s entitled to keep secrets Lupin.”
“Thank you.” He yelled as you fully stopped, turning around to look at him as you shrugged.
“Don’t thank me. I’m literally doing nothing.” You continued walking as he laughed, a light laugh that cause you to bite back a smile. “Well, that’s new.” You mumbled to yourself as you shook the impending smile off your face and headed to your next class.
The next few days were weird to say the least, everywhere you looked Remus was there. Only it wasn’t the same as before. He was being... helpful. He made sure you had all the ingredients in potions, made sure you had any of the books you wanted at the library, and he even helped you when Lestrange wouldn’t leave you alone. But after a week you got fed up. You were on your way back from Transfiguration as you saw the boy of your headaches walking alone. You made a rash decision as you clasped onto his robes, pulling him into the nearest broom closet.
Remus was shocked when you pulled on him and crammed yourselves into the tiny closet. Out of anything you could’ve done, this was not one that he imagined.
“Ow! You’re on my foot Lupin! Just move- come on! Lumos!” You finally yelled before a bright light filled the cramped space. Remus was practically pushed right up against you as you held the wand to your side.
“Why are we here?” He grumbled as he tried to pull his arm up from the very awkward angle, only managing to push into you more.
“We are here because- oh just let me do it.” You paused as you shifted, allowing Remus to fix his arms and place them on the shelves behind you, one arm on either side. Maybe if either of you were less focused on the current events that is your ‘friendship’ you would’ve realized exactly what this looked like. “We are here because the last week you have been acting different.”
“Different?” He questions, already knowing what you were talking about.
“Yeah, different.” You put more emphasis on the word as you gripped your wand tighter. “You’ve actually been nice to me and I want it to stop.” You demanded as Remus bit his lip. He knew exactly what was going on. You knew his secret and he wanted to repay you, so he decided to try and be nice to you more. But you didn’t like it. It turns out for you, the moment you get Remus Lupin without all the snarky comebacks and impossible to ignore pranks, you get more irritating. Your friend was he first one to point out you were more mad then normal, you tried to push the thought away until Remus showed up that day and she told you it was because of him. She knew of your relationship with him, everyone did, it wasn’t like you were keeping your hatred a secret. Remus’ mouth dropped when you to told him to stop being nice.
“I thought you hated mean Lupin.” He mumbled as you laughed.
“I hate you Lupin. Mean or nice, it’s just the nice version is creeping me out.” You gave him a fake apologetic shrugged, catching the way his lips turned up at the corner before he made them normal again. That same feeling in you from when he laughed occurred as you finally took in how close you were to him as you pushed back a little, letting your body press against the shelves. The redness creeping across your face was showcased from the light of your wand as Remus stared down at you. It looked good on you. Made you seem a little more decent than most of your run ins with him where you were both insulting each other until one gave up. He liked this. He hated you, but he liked this feeling in him.
Without much thought he made more room for himself, letting his hands move from the shelf behind you to your hips when the room fell silent.
His hands held you in place as you stared up at him, seeing the way he smiled at you as you came to your senses. You pushed his hands away from you as you opened the door a little, letting the harsh light of Hogwarts infiltrate your little hide out. “Look, I know I’m keeping your secret Remus, but I’d appreciate it if things could just go back to normal.” You whispered before letting the door slam behind you, leaving Remus standing in the dark with a big smile on his face and weird feeling in his gut because for the first time since you and him met you didn’t call him Lupin. You said Remus and it made his heart stop.
The next day he pretended like he felt nothing in that closet, like the thought of you now didn’t make his head race. He carried on like he had before you learned about his secret, using every opportunity to steal your belongings or snatch the book you had your eye on. Things were starting to return to normal and you were enjoying it until something in the back of your head stopped you. Or rather your friend smacking you in the back of the head.
“What was that for?!” You yelled as you rubbed your head. Y/F/N sighed as she fell onto your bed next to you.
“Deal with Remus.” She said as you scoffed. You tucked the book you were currently in the middle of reading under your pillow as you joined her at the head.
“And pray tell why do I need to talk to Remus?”
She practically lit up like a Christmas tree, making you even more confused.
“You called him Remus.” She shouted as your stomach dropped. You looked like you saw a ghost as thoughts of Remus flooded your mind. It was dumb really, how you acted. You pushed yourself off the bed, making your way through the school before seeing Remus leaning against the same closet you dragged him in as you approached. He hadn’t seen you until you tapped his shoulder causing him to stop leaning on the door and allowing you to open it. He didn’t say anything as you followed you in, not even needing you to pull him for him to know to follow. It was dark as you made out the outline of his face and pulled out your wand, lighting up the room.
“What are we doing in here?” Remus whispered as his hands trailed lightly onto your hips in hopes you wouldn’t push them off.
You didn’t.
Instead you reached up and took a hold of his shirts collar, pulling him down to smash your lips onto his. He kept one hand on your hip, letting the other cup your jaw as he ran his tongue across your lip. You didn’t waste a second as your lips parted, being separated more when his tongue entered your mouth. It carried on more like that until you couldn’t breathe anymore. You pulled apart, panting as you reached up to touch your kiss swollen lips. Remus tucked a strand of hair behind your ears as you looked up at him, running your teeth barely across your bottom lip. Butterflies. That’s what that feeling was in your stomach. You liked the way he made you feel.
“I have a secret.” You mumbled as Remus tilted his head, looking down at you. “I don’t think I hate you anymore.” You whisper as Remus let’s out a genuine laugh. You smiled as he nodded.
“Yeah, I don’t think I do too.” He pulled you back up into a kiss and you stayed like that for a while. “You know, I think I like kissing you more than I like fighting with you.”
“You know,” you nodded your head, bringing your fingers up to your chin in fake thought, “I think I have to agree with you on that.” You shared a smile before you paused. “Do you think we could still argue and everything out there?” You asked as you nodded towards the exit. He looked at the door and smirked turning back to you.
“This can be kind of like our little secret. As long as I can kiss you whenever we’re alone.” He concluded as you learn up to place a quick kiss to his lips.
“If you don’t stop talking I’ll hex you.” You threatened as you turned around to face your boyfriend and Sirius who sat next to you and had both been talking all throughout potions. He rolled his eyes, leaning forward on his desk as you crossed your arms.
“You’re just mad cause you don’t have anyone to talk to.” He justified as Sirius watched the two of you in amusement. You stood off your stool, coming right up to his desk as he also stood up.
“No, I just feel bad for Black who actually has to talk to you all day.” You said before you left to go get some more ingredients. Sirius leaned back on the desk, shaking his head at Remus.
“Moony I have no clue how you had been nice to her for a week. She’s a nightmare.” Sirius declared before spinning in his stool and focusing on his potions. Remus on the other hand watched you, carefully seeing the way you picked out your own ingredients and helped someone else find the one they needed. You glanced up at him, catching him in his stares before smiling and winking at him. How could he stand being with a nightmare like you? Easy, you weren’t actually a nightmare and he loved you. And all of your friends were none the wiser.

The Cradle, Vampire Alternate Universe HC.
Ikemen Revolution
A/N: I couldn’t get this AU out of my head after I wrote my last vampire fic! Below you will find a HC for all the suitors and then some. Lore is down at the bottom with a list of traits and weaknesses. Let me know what you think! I will be doing more with this HC soon so stay tuned!
• ·  .  ·  ´  `  · . ·•· . · ´ ` · . ·•· . · ´ ` · . ·•· . ·  ´  `  ·  .  · •
Neutrals:
Oliver Knight is human during the day (always an adult) and a vampire during the night. He makes an amber synthetic ether potion and sells it. He also works with humans and makes weapons to protect them from the Vampires. Never killing them, only incapacitating them until the humans can get away safely. Got turned into a vampire by accident after an experiment with vampire blood and magic went horribly wrong.
Harr Silver also makes ether, but he gives his away to Loki to sell. His ether is from naturally grown plants out in the forbidden forest. He specializes in clear ether and pink, (the aphrodisiac)  to everyone's surprise. Harr hates that he became a vampire, making him bolder when he is hungry due to his survival instinct. He has a bit of self-loathing going on. His magic seems to be gone, but it's replaced with superhuman abilities he prefers. Still teaches Loki magic.
Loki Genetta is a vampire-human mix. He was born to a father that was a vampire and a human mother. He’s able to use magic since he is part human. Sells Harr’s ether during the day since the sun only gives him a bit of a sunburn. He wears his hood to hide his skin. His vampire family shunned Loki for being a halfling, ignored by his human family for being a ‘monster,’ and picked up by ancient vampires at the magic tower for his unique abilities.
Blanc Lapin is an ancient vampire, yet neutral. He's been around longer than anyone can count. Used to use his hypnotic stare to sway women to let him feed on them for many years. Now he's tired of that and refined to just asking nicely since vampires are more common. He drinks the ether that's meant for the humans, and no one can figure out why.
Black Army:
Ray Blackwell is a vampire that fails to feed regularly. His friends were worried until they realized it was his own way of curbing his superhuman abilities. He's able to control his hunger, even when he's beyond thirst, to slow down his body's capabilities. This makes him feel less like a monster and can focus on his tasks as King. Wants to be sympathetic to the humans in this regard. Has lots of willing women from the territory to feed on if he ever needs it.
Sirius Oswald exhibits signs of being a vampire. Sharp teeth, superhuman strength, pale skin, immortality, drinks blood. Yet, he can walk in the sun just fine. He seems to know more than he's letting on, but everyone is curious why he’s so different. Disappears often but always gets his job done beforehand.
Luka Clemence was born into an old vampire family. All of the members have vampirism. He watched his brother go through brutal training to be in control of his thirst, but Luka was given free roam. Since he was the second born and not designated to titles, they allowed him to feed on whoever he liked. Play dates as a child ended badly due to his unending thirst, but he didn’t understand how horrible it was until he was older. After understanding how brutal he was as a child, he taught himself how to hold back, and prides himself on his self taught strength.
Seth Hyde holds it together pretty well until he’s hungry. Seth is always happy go lucky and keeps up a front that everything is fine. Deep down he's deeply disturbed by what he's become and is disgusted with himself. Yet, his instincts take over, and his mind switches into survival mode to feed. He hides his past from everyone but somehow knows random facts about the ancient vampires that the public doesn’t know, catching everyone off guard.
Fenrir Godspeed has a particularly rabid form of vampirism. He goes to Oliver for a potion that settles him down. Forgetting to take it, he will fly off in a blind feed. He has the capability of killing an entire village in a matter of seconds before his mind gains control of his consciousness again. Keeps this extra potion on him at all times.
Red Army:
Lancelot Kingsley is an old old vampire, but not as old as Blanc. He’s also able to use magic to everyone's surprise. He can only become magical when he’s fed recently. He keeps a vile of his lovers (or someone's) blood with him at all times just in case. He feeds frequently, indulges really, to make sure he's the strongest he can be at all times. His father and mother were part of the ancient vampire race.
Jonah Clemence was born into an old vampire family. As the first born, he was raised with the families customs. He didn’t have his first feed from a live human until he was well into his life and ever since he has a hard time stopping. His family thought it would help him control his urges, but he became somewhat impulsive and indulgent because of this. Many people died at his hand due to his inability to stop. He’s been put on synthetic plasma and not allowed to drink from a person by the King's orders.
Edgar Bright freely indulges in vials of blood he creates regularly. Its looked down upon by the other officers, making him look weak and unable to wait until feeding time but he doesn't seem to care what they think. He enjoys the blood of someone after they’ve eaten their fair share of cake and candies. The sweet taste of their blood is more of a treat than a necessity to feed. He can’t help that he's a sweet tooth. He feeds more than Lancelot does without anyone realizing it and happens to be the strongest out of the whole red army because of it.
Kyle Ash is a newly turned vampire. He tries to take patients regularly but finds himself hypnotizing them with his stare to allow him to feed on them willingly. Uses his healing tongue more than he would like to. Kyle wants to help people, but his need to feed tends to be stronger than his morals. He also scared off his last lover by going too far. He drank so much of her blood she passed out for a couple of days making Kyle distraught. Once she came to and recovered, she left him and moved out of the cradle entirely. He feels guilty and goes out with Oliver and Blanc at night to drink away his gloomy feelings.
Zero has no memory of his past other than about five years back. He’s a vampire, but he has no idea how long he's been like this, where he came from, or who his family is. He has impressive control when it comes to feeding and knows when to stop. Zero hides a symbol on his neck that looks similar to what a breed of ancient vampires uses to mark their clan.
Other Citizens:
Amon Jabberwock is from an old order of vampire, the ancients. He was turned when he was only eight years old. He appears to look 19 now even though he's centuries old by now. He wants to subjugate the humans, making them into thralls for his ultimate purpose of making his clan the most powerful group of vampires in history.
Dean Tweedle was a professor when one of his favorite students became a vampire and joined the red army. Later, the student came back to ‘thank’ him by changing Dean into a vampire. He was distraught after he accidentally killed someone, and sought help from his brother only to find he was jealous of his humanity.
Dalim Tweedle was changed into a vampire by his twin brother without his consent. He’s angry at Dean and refuses to speak to him for the rest of their many many years. He also prefers to never drink from the same person twice. The ether you give humans can become addictive, due to is pleasurable feeling and can connect the vampire and human over time. He doesn’t want to get too attached to anyone as long as he’s a monster.
Mousse Atlas pretends to be human in front of Alice. He denies all connection to vampires and firmly believes he will find a cure one day on his travels. He spends a lot of his time mapping out places with lore that have a vampirism cure. However, when his thirst grows too much, he hypnotizes someone to forget his face while he drinks from them.
Vampire traits:
Immortal(ish): They have a very long lifespan, but it does come to an end eventually. They do age, but it's very slow.
Fast: Can run at high speeds, or move so fast it appears as an instant to the human eye.
Superhuman strength: Depending on human ability their vampire traits are multiplied by that. (i.e., if someone was capable of amazing feats as a human they will be a stronger vampire.)
Appearance: Skin becomes duller than their human tone, sometimes pale looking. Their eyes gain a sort of filament at the back of their eye that is reflective. This helps them see in the dark. Nails become as strong as diamonds. Their skin is impenetrable by any known substance, even another vampire's nails/claws.
Hypnotic Stare: They can persuade people to do things for them/think a certain way by putting them in a hypnotic state.
Healing Tongue: Their saliva can heal humans wounds within seconds.
Humanity: They hold their humanity still, yet it's hard when their thirst becomes strong.
Food: Feeds on the blood of living things or synthetic plasma.
Enthralling: Vampire thralls are made by over hypnotizing someone after they’ve been drained of blood. The vampire bites them over and over telling them to obey their every command. This technique can be used for many things, but a thrall is a typical outcome. The human is broken and is at the whim of their sired master.
Weakness’: Vampires can't use the cradle magic since they became the magical creature themselves. (Typically) Sunlight: Five seconds will burn their skin, but up to 30 seconds would kill them. Fire: Burns them to a crisp they can’t recover from. Not eating: If they don’t feed, they will grow too weak to hunt and eventually wither away.
Ether: This is a potion that humans take to feel no pain. The pain is replaced with either numbness, warmth, or pleasure depending on the color of ether you drink. Clear is numbness, amber is warmth, and pink colored is pleasure. Vampires in the cradle use this on the ones they wish not to harm.
Lore: Most vampires are used for the armies since they are the strongest. Humans and vampires coexist in the Cradle to an extent. The main argument between the Red and Black armies is a moral one. The Red army believes everyone should be turned into a vampire, since they are stronger, and serve their army to grow it. They want to turn anyone loyal to the red army into a vampire while locking up others who are not.
The Black army intends to prevent the turning of humans so that humanity can thrive. They actively chose never to turn anyone unless it is a dire situation or everyone has voted on and agreed to. The humans still have a choice in both territories thanks to the actions of the black army and their efforts with the government to create laws for both vampires and humans.
To turn into a vampire, you must drink one's blood and allow the poisonous blood to kill you or die by any means. Either way, vampire blood will kill a human slowly.

Sirius and Marlene's friendship (with benefits)
Okay but this
This got away from me because for some reason their friendship is just really important to me
They knew each other before obviously, they're both from high-profile pureblood families after all, but they hit it off in their sixth year, after the Snape Incident™ when Sirius really starts hanging out with Lily and consequently with her friends (he's friendly with Mary and Dorcas too but it's not the same)
They bond over their pureblood upbringings (while Marlene's family are not pureblood maniacs like Sirius's, they never outright said they supported Muggleborns (at least not until that point) like James's and are not cast out from the wizarding society) - they share many inside jokes only those who attended pureblood balls would understand
"Black, Rosier started on the third years again, we're going to make him look worse than his mother did in '74"
"Hear, hear"
"What happened in--"
"Don't ask, Mary, it's not for your ears"
Always pranking/getting into duels with the Death eater wannabes on Muggleborns' behalf
"Black, McKinnon, detention"
"Yes, professor McGonnagall"
They learn to become sneakier the third time around - they are never caught again
He helps her with Transfiguration and she helps him with Potions
Studying side by side in the library and later in the common room well into the night, along with Lily, because Sirius doesn't want to be in his dorm while the Marauders are still awake and they will both be damned if they leave him alone
Marlene actually staying up with him until dawn the first full moon after the Incident™
They don't actually study that much, Sirius just laments how badly he screwed up (Marlene already knows Remus is a werewolf because she's not an idiot)
"You should apologise"
"I already did"
"Do it again"
Gradually, the Marauders drift together again, when Sirius apologises again the night before the next full moon (Marlene wasn't there, but she's pretty sure there were tears involved)
Sirius doesn't stop hanging out with them even after he gets his friends back because he's nothing if not loyal and their two friends group just slowly drift together, merging over time (later on at Jily's wedding Sirius will pride himself on being the reason they're actually together) ("Don't be a prat, Black")
Marlene and Sirius making it their lifetime mission to get Lily and James together ("Fine, it was a team effort")
Trying to outdrink each other at parties because they can both hold their liquor
"Be careful, Mack, you don't want to pull a Parkinson" *mad cackles*
"WILL YOU STOP WITH THE PUREBLOOD INSIDE JOKES ALREADY?" - a very frustrated James, at 3 am
"You get used to it, after a while you just tune it out" - Dorcas, patting his shoulder
"Yeah, kind of like Blishwick tuned--"
Dorcas hexes him three ways to Sunday, and Marlene laughs herself hoarse
Sirius coming to Quidditch matches and cheering on Marlene just as loudly as James (Lily is right next to him, doing similarly)
Sirius draping a blanket over Marlene when he finds her asleep in the common one night
Marlene drawing on his face with one of Lily's (impermanent) markers when she finds him (but also covering him with a blanket)
56 nicknames for each other (Remus keeps count)
"Mack"
"Siri"
"She-devil"
"Ingrate"
"Marls"
"Doggo"
Pranking each other constantly - it gets worse when Marlene enlists Lily's help and Sirius Remus's
It's a week no one who was present at Hogwarts at that time speaks about
They call a truce when Sirius can say nothing but the truth for a whole day (safe to say he hides and avoids Moony the whole time) and Marlene has to mime every second word and has pink hair that doesn't change until she washes it in chocolate (she keeps just a lock of it dyed pink, to commemorate the week)
Talking in hushed voices late at night, when no one can hear their concerns for their friends
"I can't lose them, Sirius, I just can't"
"You won't"
Promising each other they will protect them with their lives (Sirius beats himself up for it later, in Azkaban, because he didn't keep his promise, not really, and she would be so disappointed)
They start their arrangement just after they return from Christmas break in their sixth year
They're at a party and they both have just a little too much to drink because there's a war outside their little bubble and they can do nothing about it and they stumble into the Marauders' empty dorm and onto Sirius's bed and forget about everything else for that time (Remus hears them when he comes up and turns around, he can't look at them for a week)
They find a much-needed distraction in each other and they don't stop
Sirius has hooked up before but it's never been like this and he realises that it's the first time he's had sex with someone he actually cares about and it's so he finds out he's demisexual (the only other person he's ever been attracted to is Remus and it's not like that is ever going to happen)
Nothing changes, of course, they're still friends, just friends who occasionally shag
No one knows for the longest time
Until Peter stumbles upon them in a broom closet, half unclothed, and proceeds to tell about his traumatic experience to all of their friends, the rat
James makes a big deal about it, (un)surprisingly, Lily just stares and Dorcas and Mary throw reproachful looks at Marlene, who rolls her eyes, Remus walks out of the Great Hall with a flimsy excuse at best (Sirius tries not to be affected)
"It's not a big deal, Prongs, let it go, we're just shagging"
"For almost half a year?!"
"Yes."
"It doesn't mean anything, Potter, we're not tragically in love"
No one believes them and soon enough the whole Hogwarts know
Half the girls come up to Marlene to congratulate her and ask her how exactly she got the Hogwarts's main heartbreaker to settle down
"I swear to Merlin, one more person ask me that question and I will hex them"
"Why so grumpy, Marlene? Not getting laid enough?"
James has a bruise for a week from the copy of History of Magic she throws at him (Sirius rolls on the floor laughing for solid ten minutes after the exchange)
They do a good job of deflecting all the random insinuations and not hexing anyone who asks them how long they've been together, overall (Sirius walks around with a barely-there limp for two weeks after the only time one of the nasty Slytherins right out comments on it - the Slytherin isn't seen for three weeks - but they both refuse to tell what exactly happened)
Nothing changes between them really
During the summer holidays they don't go out of their way to see each other, both preferring to do other things, but if they happen to have an opportunity they take full advantage
Sirius spends the holidays with the Potters, the last truly calm period of his life he will be able to remember later, Remus joins them weekly, it's the best two months of his life
They are both there when James gets his Head boy badge and they laugh themselves hoarse
Marlene cackles when Sirius tells her
At the start of the school year she and Lily squeeze into a compartment with the Marauders
It's one of the best times any of them has ever had
All of them knowing that this is the last year they get to be just kids
Taking full advantage of it
The two of them resume their dynamic fully and their friends start worrying again
It's a month after start of school, when Marlene's had a really bad week, and comes into the common room after practice on Friday and one thing leads to another and she gets into a fight with Dorcas
A lot of things are said, none of them really truly meant, but cutting deep
The peak being "And you're just turning a blind eye on this thing you have with Black, trying to ignore the fact you're in love with him and that he will ditch you for someone better the second he gets the chance"
Marlene turns around and walks out of the Common room without a word
Sirius comes into the Common room an hour later, just out of detention, noticing the tense atmosphere among the group
James pulls him aside and tells him what happened
"Dorcas what the bloody hell"
Sirius going up to the dorm without another word, but coming out two minutes later and walking out of the Common room
He finds her outside on the grass, just staring up at the stars with a blank look in her eyes
He doesn't say anything, just puts away the Map and hands her a bottle of Firewhiskey
It takes exactly 4 minutes and 5 gulps of Firewhiskey for her to start spilling her guts
"I just--she's so stupid, Sirius"
"I know"
"She can't even see that I'm not nowhere near in love with you"
"I know"
"She keeps saying you're going to break my heart when in reality she does it every day"
"I know"
"She's the only person I want to be with"
Sirius takes a swig then too and pulls her into his arms
"We should start a club for people with best friends who they're hopelessly in love with while they are stupidly oblivious and make it really hard for them to move on"
"That sounds really specific, I don't think anyone would join"
"You'd be surprised"
They don't return to the Gryffindor tower until hours later, well beyond tipsy, to (what they think is) a deserted common room
They say goodnight and Sirius is already up three stairs when she calls out to him
He turns around and she says "I do love you, though"
He smiles "I know, you just can't help it, can you, Mack, I'm too lovable"
She can read between the lines though and she knows she's not imaging the glossiness of his eyes when he turns away
Neither notices Remus curled up on the sofa
Marlene refuses to speak to Dorcas for two weeks and when she tries to corner her after some shared classes, Sirius is somehow always there, like some kind of a guard dog
Lily finally gets fed up with it and forces Marlene to talk to Dorcas while James distracts Sirius
Dorcas receiving threats from Sirius for days afterwards, like she's the one dating Marlene and not he
"We're not dating for Merlin's sake, Dorcas, open your eyes and see who she's really in love with"
Considering he shouted that for the whole Great Hall to hear, it makes for a rather awkward week
At least until it's Hogsmeade weekend and Sirius and Marlene manage to set up a plausible scenario in which Peter has detention, Mary is sick, Marlene just has to meet her mum in the Three Broomsticks and Dorcas has to come with because her mother wants her opinion on something and Sirius has a mountain of schoolwork to catch up on and Moony would you be so kind to help me with it
That leaves just Lily and James, who swore up and down they had nothing to do so they have no excuse to cancel, forcing them to go together
They start dating and Sirius's remark is forgotten by everyone except for the two people who were most supposed to forget about it (read: Dorcas and Remus)
Except unlike the other three, Dorcas actually is a true Gryffindor so she does something about it and corners Marlene in an empty classroom and they both spill their guts
Sirius, who waited for them ouf of general habit, witnesses them coming out of there half an hour later with the goofiest grins and he just smiles, mouthing at Marlene, I know
They don't tell anyone at first but it all goes downhill when Lily comes back from her study sessions prematurely one day, stumbles in their dorm and just fucking screams
Half the common room jumps but before anyone can check it out, Lily comes down the stairs with her face almost as red as her hair
She rounds on Sirius, who's lounging on a sofa, Remus's head resting in his lap as they study
"Care to explain why I just walked in on Dorcas and Marlene snogging, seconds away from actually shagging?"
Remus's book falls down on his face, James leaves a large ink splotch on his essay and Peter squeaks so loudly he actually falls out of the chair
But Sirius doesn't even look up from his book and just turns the page
"Well I'd imagine because they like and are attracted to each other, Lily"
"But--but you're--the two of you--you're--"
"Friends yes. With both of them, actually. Sit down, Lils, have a cuppa"
Remus whisks the book off his face, just staring at Sirius
James says "But you're dating Marlene"
"Don't know where you got that idea, we've never said it" he turns another page
Marlene and Dorcas come down by now and Marlene perches on the armrest next to Sirius, who readjusts himself immediately to accommodate her because despite the fact that she has what he thinks he can never achieve he is so brilliantly happy for her
And Lily just stares at the two of them, then at Dorcas and Marlene's linked hands and "ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS"
And Marlene just blinks and without missing a beat goes "Well not anymore"

Congratulations Taylor you’ve been accepted to Crimson Revolt as Bellatrix Black
↳ please refer to our character checklist
I don’t think screaming really begins to describe the sounds I made while I read over your audition. You painted Bellatrix in such an intense light that flows so well with the woman we all know she becomes. I can’t wait to see what your version of her will bring to the group, and if we’re being honest I’m mostly excited for the chaos that having Bellatrix is going to be bringing. I know that you have so much up your sleeves for us and I can’t wait to see the twisted turns you throw our way! *Your faceclaim change has been accepted.
application beneath the cut
OUT OF CHARACTER
INTRODUCTION
Hey, it’s Taylor! 19, in EST and still using female pronouns
ACTIVITY
About the same as it has been, so I’ll let that be a speaking factor for itself.
TRIGGERS
None that aren’t listed.
HOW DID YOU FIND US?
I’ve lived here for two years :)
WHAT HARRY POTTER CHARACTER DO YOU IDENTIFY WITH MOST?
I go between Harry and Ron. Usually it depends on the day.
IN CHARACTER
Bellatrix Druella Lestrange (nee Black)
Bellatrix is the third brightest start from Orion, which certainly played a part in her naming. It also stands to mean female warrior, something that she herself is quite proud of.
Druella, her mother’s name, was a bitter sort of present that holds a great deal of resentment even still.
BIRTHDAY / STAR SIGN
October 31, 1950, making her a Scorpio
OCCUPATION
Bellatrix is unemployed, and under no belief that she needs to change that. She has wealth, and devotes most of her time to being Voldemort’s right hand as need be. Though, that’s not to say she isn’t using her husband’s newest appointment as Minister to her own advantage. The very minute he took over she was there, inserting herself into every decision.
FACE CLAIM
Jade Tailor would be my first choice, otherwise Alexandra Park.
REASON FOR CHOSEN CHARACTER
Oh man, I don’t even know where to start. Bellatrix was a character that, when I first began writing her, utterly terrified me. She’s such a well known and terrifying character that little, seventeen year old me was so intimidated. But somehow I got the hang of it, and somehow with time I learned to mesh with her incredibly well. There is so much more to Bellatrix Lestrange than what we come to see in canon; she is a villain, and a good one.  But far more dimensional than anyone gives her credit for.
I’m a firm believer that Bellatrix was not born as mad as we see her in the canon series. Yes, she’s more than a little unhinged and feels little remorse for the horrific things that she does.  But she is not so far gone that she is as horrifyingly crazy as we see her during the second war. Before Azkaban, Bellatrix was actually rather sane. She was put together, cared about her appearance; she was wild and deeply resented anything resembling the stereotypes that Narcissa had been bred to portray. But she did care for her image. So she built a new one. It wasn’t until after spending a decade in prison, surrounded by Dementors that fed off her worst memories, that she truly became manic. Her time in prison was a never ending loop of the time after Sirius and Andromeda left their family. A loop of the disappointment she was faced with afterwards, by their father who suddenly decided Bella needed to be more. As if she was never enough in the first place.
First born to the Black family, she should have been the pride and joy - except for one factor neither Druella nor Cygnus ever seemed to get past: she lacked a dick. It was for that reason she was never really shown love, until the day Andromeda was born. Having her first sister was more a thing of tolerance for Bella, though she had a great amount of affection for her. From the day she was born, Bellatrix knew she was going to protect her. She was going to have to. And then Narcissa was born, and for the first time in her life, Bellatrix Black felt genuine love in the bright eyes of her youngest sister.
As children, Bellatrix adored them both and would have killed to protect them (and maybe did, at a time.) But as she got older, things began to change. As she neared the end of her Hogwarts career, Bellatrix discovered the power of Voldemort in a way that Cygnus has never introduced her to. She took the Mark eagerly at the young age of sixteen, and that was enough to set her on her path. Suddenly there was someone who believed in her for more than anything her own family had ever believed. Maybe some people thought he was a devil, but to Bella, the Dark Lord was a god. He saved her, or so she believes. Showed her the praise and delight when she strives for success in a way her family never had.
PREFERRED SHIPS // CHARACTER SEXUALITY // GENDER & PRONOUNS
Bellatrix is of the firm belief that there isn’t a point in love. Her parents never showed her any, her own sister left. Romantic love of any sort seems quite useless. It wasn’t always that way, at one point in Hogwarts she was in love without realizing it. A student from Bulgaria had spent a year in the castle, and she was captivating. Bella was enamored and when Viktoria left, she pointedly decided that was the end of things. She hadn’t even wanted to marry, but after her sister’s betrayal there was no choice, and she is well aware there are worse out there than Rodolphus. She may not be in love with him, but she does regard him as her other half, the right match.
As for her sexuality, it falls somewhere in the bisexual range but more prone to woman. Of course, she doesn’t ever think much of it and has come to get off purely on power, but that’s beside the point.
Proud to be a woman from the moment she was old enough to understand why her father hated her, Bellatrix did everything in her power to own it. She would never be as feminine as her Cissa, but she was going to own it. So she wasn’t born with a dick, that was a power move that needs to be erased; even if she doesn’t have one, Bellatrix has made it well known that she has more power than most men, and she likes it that way.
CREATE ONE (OR MORE!) OF THE FOLLOWING FOR YOUR CHARACTER
-A moodboard (x) -An aesthetic (x) -A mockblog ;)
Intelligent (adjective) - having or showing intelligence, especially at a high level ; Bellatrix was always a very gifted student, a bright girl – true to her name existing among stars, she shone brightly amongst even the darkest circumstances. In Hogwarts she topped every class she took. She reads people with excellence, detecting how people think before they even do themselves. She is perceptive, and smart. It’s part of what drew her to her Dark Lord…what got her named his favorite, among all his men.
Capable (adjective) - able to achieve efficiently whatever one has to do ; it would truly be a thing to curse the day one looked Bellatrix Lestrange in the eye and told her ‘you can’t.’ An impeccably strong and determined woman, when her mind is made up you can be certain she will follow throw. Magical prowess and determination to succeed could very well play a large part in her abilities; just as being a woman among high ranks – she fought her way to the top. And to descend would be a fall she wouldn’t be willing to take.
Apathetic (adjective) - showing or feeling no emotion ; feelings show weakness, and weakness – well. Bellatrix knows all too well how dangerous those can be. She likes to think she let them go – very deep down, extremely deep, they exist. Though the only person to ever truly spark that is Narcissa. As far as Bella is concerned, they’ve become so deeply buried they are gone. Trapping as that may be, she’s felt free ever since.
Explosive (adjective) - able or likely to shatter violently ; there are many things which may be said to blame for Bellatrix and her violent tendencies. Rumours abound as to what it is that makes her so easily set off - perhaps it was her childhood. Perhaps being a woman stronger than many men in a predominately men’s world. Rage has been swelling, building for a lifetime. A dangerous time bomb which has gone off in spades since joining the Dark Lord’s forces, but has never truly exploded.
Pinterest Board
Patronus - while Bellatrix is a very powerful witch, she is incapable of producing the Patronus charm. Her happiest memories existed only when her sisters were together, and with Andromeda’s betrayal, they’ve been tainted. Other than that, her happiest memories are sadistic, and not at all powerful enough for the charm to work, though if it were to it would display as a dragon – explosive, beautiful, powerful and dangerous.
Boggart - her parents, or more specifically, Cygnus. While Bella would like to pretend she has no fears, deep down she is always aware of the fear she has held towards the man since she was little. The fears of being a disappointment, being disowned for that very reason, being a disgrace to her family, the Cause, her beliefs.
Mirror of Erised - if asked Bella would claim it would be nothing but a world the Cause is aiming for - one that is pure and better. But as shallow as she appears at times, Bellatrix wants much more than that and even she isn’t aware of her heart’s desires, because of the walls she’s built to protect it. In all honestly, she would see herself happy, truly happy in ways every woman craves. But even Bella knows better, knowledge of that craving or not.
Seven Devils by Florence and the Machine ‘ Holy water cannot help you now See I’ve had to burn your kingdom down And no rivers and no lakes can put the fire out I’m gonna raise the stakes, I’m gonna smoke you out’
IN CHARACTER QUESTIONNAIRE
♔ If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it? Feel free to name it: “Something to detect and repel those of lesser than myself. A spell of course, potions and charms are boring and hardly comprable. I myself wouldn’t name it, I have plenty of better things to do, but I can assure you it would be of great use to me.”
♔ You have to venture deep into the Forbidden Forest one night. Pick one other character and one object (muggle or magical), besides your wand, that you’d want with you: “I don’t have to do anything, especially venture into that forsaken forest. However, if I ever did, Rodolphus would accompany me and probably bitch about his shoes the whole time but he’s the first choice. I would need nothing but my wand, you daft cretin, I’m entirely powerful with that alone.”
♔ What kinds of decisions are the most difficult for you to make? “Ones that require patience, I suppose. I never had any of that.”
♔ What is one thing you would never want said about you? “That I’m a sympathizer. I’d hate to be the fool that ever made that mistake.”
REACTION TO LAST EVENT DROP
Bellatrix is growing impatient, and fast. Things had been looking up when Rodolphus took office but now, with the way Aversio and the Order both seem to be gaining power, she is increasingly angry. Action needs to be taken and fast, anyone that stands in their way wiped out. And while she is, for now, only awaiting Voldemort’s approval, she’s started to wonder just how long he plans to wait.
WRITING SAMPLE
One day stood out in her mind, high above all else, constantly encircling as if a bird waiting for its prey, a snake just waiting for a chance to slide forward and attack. The day that Bellatrix Druella Lestrange Black, always Black, had lost the humanity that had remained…the day that her beloved sister, her dearest, gentle Andromeda had left them. All for a worthless excuse of a wizard, a Mudblood, a man who had nothing to offer her except the loss of her family, of those whose flowing crimson was the very same as her own. Those she was meant to be with.
Andromeda had, in her foolish attempt at seeking forgiveness, searching a chance to remain with her family while betraying them, had pleaded. Begged for understanding, a chance to explain, to grovel pathetically at her elder sister’s feet. The day held high above all the rest, on a flaming beacon in the depths of her mind which never faded, even after countless missions, progressive days. How foolish it had been of her sister (no, she mustn’t allow herself to think that way - how foolish, how stupid, a sad habit of so many years lost that needed extracted from her mind just as all impurities must be from the wizarding world), to wish for forgiveness.
How ridiculously idiotic she felt now, to think of it. To look back at how worried she had been for her sister. Andromeda had always been softer than she - had always been much quieter when the ever-present topic of blood and purity and war came about. Not once in the whole of her lifetime had Bellatrix judged her - if the day came to ask Andromeda to stand beside her, the eldest of all Black children strongly believed she would. She had expected better of her sister, expected more than to simply be tossed aside like the trash, with less respect than even the damned House Elves received upon their deaths. To be tossed out like garbage for the sake of the lowest scum the world had to offer. A Mudblood.
It was insulting, if nothing else, but it was far more than that - it was disgusting and repulsive. Even the mere thought of it made her stomach churn. Her sister, her blood had left them for a filthy, disgusting excuse of ‘wizard.’ Pure filth.
Had Andromeda not cared for her at all?
A tragic use of valuable time, it was, to dwell on something so disgusting and unimportant. Andromeda had made her choice, in choosing to become a blood traitor, to turn her back to their family, to Bellatrix herself. She wouldn’t think of the woman ever again. Leaving her alone had been a kindness, and yet, cruelty in what was only one of its most powerful forms.
Yes, she let Andromeda leave them…for the Blacks would carry on. Preserve purity and wipe anything which threatened to risk such away, leaving the true pristine wizarding world Narcissa’s children would deserve.
For how much more satisfactory it would be to watch Andromeda lost everything she had left for.

All the hcs for the good knife boy
1. How does your muse feel about seafood?
Not a fan of seafood, though he’s never tried much of it, to be fair.
2. What is their favorite piece of technology?
His new rad as fuck lightsaber.
3. When did they lose their virginity?
He hasn’t yet.
4. Was there anything their parents pushed them to do? (e.g. sports, theatre, band)
Nah, Castor’s dads were happy to let him do his own thing and pursue any interests he pleased. They did encourage him to learn to defend himself, as that’s just a useful skill, but otherwise he made his own decisions.
5. Describe your muse’s worst nightmare.
Finding out his fathers are dead, and then proceeding to lose everyone else he cares about, one after another.
6. What is a deal-breaker when it comes to dating someone?
Cheating on him, most likely. Castor’s always had trust issues, so breaking his trust like that would be unforgivable.
7. What was the most embarrassing moment in your muse’s life?
I believe I’ve told the story of his most embarrassing before, so I’ll give his second-most embarrassing. When he was about twelve, he and Polly were playing in one of the big trees near their home, and they decided to have a little competition to see who could reach the top fastest. Castor had the upper hand the whole time, being such an athletic kid, and it looked like he was going to win— until he slipped off a branch. His jacket got caught on the way down, which saved him from falling, but also meant he was stuck dangling halfway up the tree while Polly ran to get help from their parents. Xavier laughed the entire time he was getting Castor down.
8. What keeps your muse up at night?
What ifs. What if he never finds his dads? What if he does find them, and they’re already dead? What if Percy never forgives him? What if Percy does forgive him? What if someone else he loves gets hurt?
9. What chronic illnesses does your muse have, if any?
If chronic mental illnesses count, then depression and some mild ptsd.
10. Does your muse get carsick?
Nah he’s good, doesn’t really get motion sickness.
11. Does your muse wear glasses/contacts?
His kind adopted sister Val had to buy him glasses because everyone realized he was blind as fuck except for him.
12. What are some warning signs that your muse is getting depressed?
The walls go way, way up when he’s upset. He’ll shut down and refuse to talk to anyone, and he’s much more likely to snap at someone if they try. It’s also very likely that he’ll have a bottle of some sort of alcohol in his hand.
13. What is your muse’s favorite candy?
He’s never really had much access to candy until recently, but he’s discovered he’s a fan of Snickers.
14. Does your muse have a “victory song” and if so, what is it?
Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. He loves those old Earth jams.
15. Who do they tend to bicker with the most?
Icio, no contest. He does care about them, though, underneath all the prickles.
16. Has your muse ever been hospitalized or institutionalized?
A few times, yeah. You don’t grow up the way Castor did without breaking a few bones.
17. Does your muse pray, whether it be to a god or some other force?
Nope, not at all. He doesn’t put any stock in matters of faith.
18. Has your muse ever lived in poverty?
Pretty much his whole life has been in poverty.
19. Do they have any distinct voice mannerisms? (e.g. saying ‘like’ or ‘um’ a lot, stutters)
If cursing an absurd amount counts, then he does that. He also tends to stutter when he’s under pressure or doesn’t know how to word something.
20. Where are your muse’s ancestors from? Do they keep any of their traditions?
Castor doesn’t actually know anything about his ancestors by blood. The only family line he’s aware of comes from his dads, and even then he never got to meet his grandparents on either side. They were nice people, from what he’s heard, though Xavier’s parents tended to be a little rowdy.
21. When did your muse learn about sex?
He’s known about it from the time he was about eight or nine. His dads never shied away from teaching him that kind of stuff, though they didn’t get into detail about any of it until he hit puberty.
22. What is your muse most thankful for?
He’s never said it, but he’ll be forever thankful for Luna picking him up with Icio and Ciri. He’s been given a huge family he never knew he could have, and he needs their support more than he could ever put into words.
23. What shoe size is your muse?
Eight. He’s got feet on the smaller side.
24. Does your muse hate their middle name? \ What is it?
His middle name is Sirius, and he’s rather indifferent to it. Never really comes up.
25. How many hours a day do they spend on the internet/watching TV?
He never really had anything close to the internet or TV growing up, but TV wouldn’t really interest him regardless. He’d probably spend a good chunk of time on the internet, but he prefers actually being out doing things.
26. Does your muse have any trophies?
Not really. He might have to start taking some war trophies from people he defeats though.
27. If your muse was given the opportunity to go sky diving, would they?
Absolutely. Castor’s an adrenaline junkie through and through.
28. What is the most common lie your muse tells themselves?
“Don’t let them in. You’re safer if you keep them at bay. Don’t let them in.”
29. Has your muse ever had a pet? If so, what type?
He’s never really had a pet of his own, but there was a stray dog that he and Polly sort of adopted. It tended to hang around their house, and they played with it and kept it fed when they could.
30. Who was your muse’s first kiss?
Percy, though Castor doesn’t remember it.
31. What is your muse’s first memory?
He has a very distinct memory of a particularly bad thunderstorm from when he was about three. The thunder was so loud it rattled the walls of his house, and as a frightened small child, he was convinced lightning would strike them at any moment. Thankfully his dads were both there to comfort him, and they distracted him with warm food and cuddles under blankets and fun stories. It helped at the time, but he’s been afraid of thunderstorms ever since, and only his dads have ever really been able to comfort him during one.
32. How does your muse feel about crocs?
If he saw them, he would instantly hate them.
33. What are your muse’s biggest pet peeves?
People who eat with their mouth open/smack their lips when they chew, people who’re too nosy, being called short.
34. What was your muse’s happiest birthday?
He doesn’t really have one birthday that stands out for him anymore. They’ve all blended together into “birthdays before” and “birthdays after” his dads were gone. The ones before were all his happiest. The ones after have just reminded him of what he’s lost.
35. Does your muse cross their legs/ankles when they sit?
If he’s sitting with his legs stretched out, he’ll cross his ankles. Otherwise, he sits too weird in chairs to be able to cross anything.
36. What simple task is your muse surprisingly bad at?
Cooking. You’d think after living on his own for a few years, he’d at least learn the basics, but he’s still pretty awful at it.
37. Did your muse ever own a Tamagatchi?
He has no idea what that is, so sadly no.
38. What was your muses’s first job?
Bounty hunting was the first “job” he ever took, though he’s never had what most would probably consider an actual job.
39. Does your muse usually go for truth or dare?
He’s a dare taking kind of boy, especially since he doesn’t like sharing secrets about himself. But he’ll take truth every now and again.
40. Has your muse ever been to a concert?
Never. Concerts weren’t really a big thing on Earth.
41. What is your muse’s favorite holiday?
Candlenights, by far.
42. Does your muse reply to scary chain emails/messages?
He doesn’t have any means of receiving scary emails or messages, but honestly, he’d probably be the idiot to keep sending them along. He’s a conspiracy theorist and fully believes in shit like ghosts, so he wouldn’t want to believe chain mail, but he’d always listen to it anyway just in case.
43. Describe the first person your muse remembers losing.
His dads. They were his entire world, his best friends apart from Polly. He went to them whenever he needed comfort or reassurance or someone to laugh with. They taught him everything he knows, and they gave him a childhood he’ll always cherish, even though the world they lived in wasn’t the kindest. He misses them more than life itself.
44. Would your muse ever roleplay?
He doesn’t really have the confidence for something like that.
45. What is your muse’s Hogwarts house?
Slytherin.
46. What is your muse’s first thought upon waking up?
“Why the fuck am I awake.”
47. Name a song your muse can sing every word to.
Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance.
48. Who would your muse sacrifice themselves for, if anybody?
Everyone on the Freedom Vessel except Adrian, his dads, and Polly. Percy is the highest priority on the Freedom Vessel, though.
49. How long is your muse’s penis? || What bra size is your muse?
It’s… average? He would probably say it was on the bigger side but it’s average.
50. If your muse could rid the world of one thing, what would it be?
Genesis.

12/34: hallowe’en
(hallowe’en)
when lily was seven, she was a witch. she wore a pointed hat, and her parents bought her a magic wand like the one in fairytales. when she was seven, she carved pumpkins with her dad while petunia dressed up as a ballerina and helped their mum bake pastries in the kitchen. when she was seven, their dad took them out to collect sweets from their neighbours, and despite living in cokeworths they managed to get a decent amount of sweets—petunia gave lily the ones she didn't like, and lily gave petunia the ones she knew were her favourites. when she seven, she was in love with hallowe’en.
when james was seven, he was an only child. he dressed up as his dad who was his hero—why should the muggle children be the only ones who can dress up, he had argued this day and night much to his parents’ amusement. when he was seven, he rode his broom, crashing around every surface of his home because he knew no matter what, he wouldn't get in trouble. not when his parents felt guilty he wasn't allowed to celebrate today with the muggles. when he was seven, he wore his father's glasses—not having a pair of his own. not yet. when he was seven, he wished for a brother.
when lily was eleven, she experienced a hogwarts hallowe’en, and it was brilliant. she fell in love with hallowe’en again. because now. now she was really a witch. she had a real wand and wore robes. but she didn't have petunia. she had severus. and severus was her best friend. but she also had april who severus said couldn't be her best friends because you can only have one of those. when she was eleven, all she wanted was more sweets and her life would be perfect—and her parents had promised to send her some. so life was perfect.
when james was eleven, he had three great friends. he no longer felt the loneliness of being an only child because they were everywhere. he couldn't so much as go to the loo without sirius or remus or peter by his side, and it was brilliant—although, if he really wanted to disappear he could always use the cloak. james felt a bit sad for feeling so happy, remus looked sick again. it would be the third time in just as many months.
when lily was fifteen, she was worried for severus. he had begun to spend more time with his new mates. he didn't seem to take any of lily’s warnings to heart. all he seemed to care about was what james potter and his friends were up to. she thought that the holiday was getting to him. he was convinced remus lupin was a werewolf, but he couldn't be. he was just sick. extremely sick. when she was fifteen, she thought james potter looked quite fit, even if he was trying to pull off being a vampire. not that she would ever tell him that. or severus. because no matter how fit he was, he was still a jerk to sev.
when james was fifteen, he very much fancied lily evans. lily evans who always looked like christmas. lily evans who had a laugh that sent him walking into walls. lily evans who he couldn't stop thinking about. lily evans who his friends were beginning to notice his crush on. when he was fifteen, he was trying to be an animagus for his best friend, his best friend who was finally starting to look better from his furry little problem after over a week of recovery. when he was fifteen, he swore that he wouldn't stop until he helped his friend.
when lily was seventeen, she was no longer in love with hallowe'en. but she was fairly certainly she was beginning to fall in love with james potter. james potter who kissed like he'd never get the chance to again. james potter who couldn't stay still if his life depended on it. james potter who always kissed her temple. or her face. or her neck. or her lips. or anything he could get his lips on. james potter. yes, she was very much in love with the hazel-eyes prat. and she didn't regret a thing.
when he was seventeen, he fell head first in love with a redheaded goddess. but she wasn't perfect. she was stubborn and had a temper to match her hair. she was his one and only though. when he was seventeen, he kissed the redhead in a cupboard before they had to part for their respective classes. when he was seventeen, sirius dragged him away from his love as she giggled into her hands at being caught by his best mate. when she was seventeen, he snuck her into hogsmeade for a date, which ended up being crashed by his–their–friends. but he wouldn’t change it for the world.
when she was nineteen, she kissed every surface she could reach. she thanked merlin he was safe. when she was nineteen, she was too happy that he was safe and that she hadn’t lost him to think. when she was nineteen, she moaned into his mouth as he pinned her to their bed. when she was nineteen, she had just escaped voldemort for the first time–she had now twice defied him. rejecting his offer was the first. she wasn’t scared to die, but she preferred to live quite a long time by her husband’s side.
when he was nineteen, he hated her for not running once he yelled for her to go. he hated the selflessness that would get her killed. he hated that people wanted to hurt her for being a muggle-born. for being something that made james love her more everyday. when he was nineteen, he claimed every bit of skin his wife had to offer as she voiced her approval.
when she was twenty, she was a mother. three months with harry. when she was twenty, she watched as james carved a pumpkin as she held a sleeping baby in her arms. nothing would hurt him with her here. when she twenty, she spent the day cuddling with her husband and son. she gave them both kisses as they looked at her with their beautiful eyes–one pair green, one hazel. when she was twenty, she vowed to protect them with her life.
when he was twenty, he was a father. a father. he was a father, and he promised to not let them down. he made his wife breakfast as she fed their son. he held his son as she took a shower. he told his son the story of how his parents fell in love. he reminded his son of how much he loved him. and he did the same with his wife, reminding her she was the love of his life.
when she was twenty-one, she heard her husband drop dead. when she was twenty-one, she had woken up with hope in heart of seeing another day. days she would get no more of. when she was twenty-one, she protected her son. when she was twenty-one, she knew she couldn’t do it without james, but she also knew she wouldn’t let voldemort win. she would die before she did. and died she did. when she was twenty-one, she was robbed of her last ‘i love you,’ of her last kiss, of her true love.
when he was twenty-one, he woke up and dressed his son as a pumpkin to make his wife laugh. when he was twenty-one, he found out who the traitor was. when he was twenty-one, he looked into the green light that was the same shade as the pair of eyes of his two loves. when he was twenty-one, he whispered his final goodbyes–to his wife, to his son, to his brother, to remus, and even one for peter. he said hello to his parents and hers.
when she was twenty-one, she didn’t want to live in a world without james potter.
when he was twenty-one, he died in hopes that they would live.
-excerpt based on my love of hallowe’en + me mourning jily
happy last minutes of hallowe’en (or happy dia de los muertos–day of the dead)
Read it here on FF. Feel free to request a topic for me to write an excerpt on.
yes, the grammar is on purpose
Prompt(s): hallowe’en + trick-or-treat (it’s mentioned okay) + witch + candy/sweets + seven-year-old james or lily

What in the living fuck. This is the actual SUMMARY to the story.
Tumblr media
1. Meetings
Let’s see here…. Shitty chapter title? Check.
A/N: BWAHAHAHAAAA!!! I finally wrote a fan fic (One word)! Maybe somebody will READ this one! All my poor originals have to be force fed to my friends
You sir are turning out to be a very rude Author already.
…. No one else even knows they're there I think… Oh well. All I ask for is reviews. ^_^V
Ohohohohoho! You’re getting a review alright! ʕಠᴥಠʔ▄︻̷̿┻̿═━一
Darkness rising
Why the hell is the story’s title AFTER the chapter’s???
Harry's summer had gone horribly. His books and broom were locked up, Hedwig was out for the night, and he'd been sent back to the cupboard under the stairs for pissing off Dudley.
Question: I thought Harry had a room upstairs now? I mean I can’t recall ever seeing him being sent back to the cupboard. Ever.
He'd had no word from Ron, Hermione, or Sirius, and he had no idea what was going on in the wizarding world. To top it off, it was August, and it was raining.
Nooooooo! Not the rain! Anything but the rain!
Tumblr media
Harry couldn't stand it anymore. He was going out. Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia hadn't and wouldn't object to him going out into the rain without telling them.
Tsk…. Harry you’re an idiot. You have magic but you’re still HUMAN, you’ll get sick.
Do it.
They could only pray he would get run over or die from pneumonia. He grabbed his jacket and walked silently out the door. Since he'd exchanged some of his wizarding money for muggle cash, he could afford to go get something to eat at least.
Why would he have wizard money on him outside of the Wizarding world anyway? Has has a bank account.
While walking down some random street, he found a lone hot dog stand open in the rain. Feeling sorry for the girl behind it, he decided it was hot dogs for dinner tonight.
“I’m already risking getting sick from this rain, might as well have a shitty hot dog.” Good job buddy.
He walked over to her and was about to order when a strange sensation came over him. This girl was a witch.
When the ever living fuck could Harry sense someone else was magical? ʕಠᴥಠʔ This is one of THOSE stories isn’t it?
"Um, can I have a chili dog please?" He asked, pondering whether or not to ask which wizarding school she went to.
Hey harry, have you ever had a vendor dog? Their pretty awful… Then again, it’d be the best meal you had! OOOOOOOOH!
Tumblr media
Get it cos the Dursley’s rarely feed him enough  ʕ;-;ʔ Eh?
"Sure. That's um… 2.75 please." Harry handed her the money, noting her American accent.
2.75 in what? Dollars? Pounds? Yen? PESOS!?
Tumblr media
"If you don't mind my asking, you aren't from around here are you?" She shook her head.
Oh my god…. Don’t tell me there’s a Mary Goddamn Sue already.
"No, I'm a California Girl. I'm here to meet my grandfather, I guess. You don't want to hear about me, though." She shook her head.
FUCKING DAMMIT ALL TO HELL!
Harry was caught for a moment, noticing just how pretty she looked. She had pretty brown hair with bleached streaks, and amber eyes with flecks of orange and brown in them. Harry had grown a lot over the summer, but she was still just a centimeter taller. He smiled for her.
AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
Fuck you. ʕಠᴥಠʔ╭∩╮
"It's not like I have something else to be doing. Why don't you tell me about it to save me from loss of sanity to boredom?" She chuckled softly.
“I’m just the Sue who’ll most likely be your love interest!”
He noticed how sad her eyes were. "I'm Harry. Harry Potter." He said, holding out his hand. She hesitantly took it.
Harry is being awfully nice to a complete stranger, for all he knew she could be faking it to steal his liver. Good thing mine’s dying! ʕಠᴥಠʔ Nice try bitch!
"Sandra Davis."
“Now fuck off you little bastard.”
Harry quickly learned that Sandra was fascinating. Besides the fact that she was gorgeous, she was smart, too. She was a muggle-
HOW IN THE HELL CAN SHE BE A FUCKING MUGGLE!?!
-(Which confused Harry to no end), and had stopped going to High School in preference of the City College level classes.
Aren’t you a special snowflake! Here’s a gold star!
She was apparently in England coming to visit her Grandfather, whom she'd never met. She apparently lived alone as well.
I’m say it it now, her grandfather is probably some powerful wizard.
"I'm a little worried though, I have to take the train in London to meet my Gramps, but have you ever heard of a platform Nine and Three- Quarters?" Harry was more than slightly surprised.
Oh no… Please don’t… I beg of you!
"Do you know what quidditch is?" He blurted out. She shook her head. "All right, sorry. Um, do you know what your grandfather does for a living?" Harry tried again.
Please don’t say magic, please don’t say magic, please don’t say magic.
"He's headmaster of some school here. Hogwarts,-
Oh you better be pulling my chain bub.
- I think. What a weird name, I mean really. Almost as weird as his, get a load of this, his name's Albus Dumbledore.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-Hahahahahahhahahahah! ʕಠᴥಠʔ -Shaking intensifies-
Tumblr media
-Go figure, eh?" She laughed quietly. Harry was in shock. Albus Dumbledore's granddaughter was a muggle? He had a granddaughter? What in all hell was going on? She had magic, why wasn't she at Hogwarts?
I’m just as surprised as you Potter, just as surprised as you.
"That's my school." Harry said, for lack of anything else. "He's my headmaster."
-Deep inhale- This is top-notch interactions.
Sandra looked a little surprised, and looked around to make sure no one else was on the street. Then she leaned in and whispered-
Why the fuck do ya got a hyphen there?
"So that means you're the Harry Potter? The one who defeated this Voldemort guy?" Harry nodded, once more caught completely off guard.
“Nah, I’m the Harry Potter from Chicago. Ya know what they say about our sausage?” ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
Tumblr media
"Oh good! My Gramps told me to go find you, and you'd make sure I got to Hogwarts all right." She looked immensely relieved. Harry had to stare at her for a minute.
OFFUCKINGCOURSE!
"I'm sorry, but you've confused the hell out of me." She smiled, but Harry had to notice again how it never reached her eyes.
Oh if only Coffee were here, she’d be having a blast tearing this a new anus. ʕಠᴥಠʔ
"She told him the whole story then. It turned out she was half and half (MUDBLOOD). She'd always known her mother was a witch, but the whole family had gone with Sandra's father to live as muggles, even though he was outnumbered.
What the hell? How did it come to that? He didn’t ask you that. -Head slamming gif-
Her parents had both died in a "car crash" when she was five. In reality, a pair of rouge (Rogue, did Kiryu get in here??) Death Eaters had gotten them.
Aren’t Death Eaters already rogues…?
Dumbledore hadn't taken her in because her parents had strictly told him she was to be left to grow up as a muggle.
Of course they did sweetie.  ʕ◡ᴥ◡✿ʔ You’re a snowflake. ʕʘᴥʘ✿ʔ I must melt you.
Now though, it was too dangerous to leave her on her own, and he was bringing her where he could keep an eye on her.
So who was watching her prior to this? I’m having a hard time understanding that part.
""I'm a little angry with my parents, actually." She said with a blank look on her face as she looked out into the rain. "They should've let me make my own decision, instead of leaving me helpless like this." Harry sighed.
I’m with you on this Potter. I suggest we run very far from the Sue.
"They probably thought I'd killed Voldemort properly, they didn't know I'd end up brining (BRINGING) him back." She looked at him for a moment.
Who thought you’d killed Moldybutt properly? Who is talking right now?
"I heard about that. It wasn't your fault, Harry."
“You’re just the final horcrux, so it’s only your fault if you live, no big deal.”
"I should've known what was going to happen the minute my name came out of the Goblet of Fire, I'm-"
Where in the timeline is this taking place exactly? Explain shit Author! GAH!
ʕಠ益ಠʔ
"-Perfectly within the rights of being human." Sandra cut him off. "No one can think of everything."
Yet you most likely will, Sue.
Harry felt strangely comforted.
Correction: He felt strangely awkward.
"You're not a bad guy, Harry. I'm glad I met you." Sandra gave him a rare heartfelt smile.
Sandra is a broken girl I see. Oh boy.
Harry couldn't help but smile back.
No don’t empower her Potter!
***
The fuck is THAT!
Hedwig came back that night, carrying four letters at once. One each from Ron, Hermione Sirius, and Dumbledore.
Bet cha Dumbledore’s is about Sandra. What’s the plot again? Why does it need her?
Harry opened the one from Dumbledore first, hoping it might have a few more answers for him.
HA! That old bastard have answers? Yeah right!
Dear Harry,
“Regret to inform you that there is a Sue amongst us.”
I trust Sandra has come safely to you by now. I also trust you have plenty of questions for me. The first of which I can answer easily. Yes, I have a granddaughter. Surprised? The rest of the staff will be too. I want you to take Sandra to the Leaky Cauldron Inn as soon as possible. I'm having the Weasleys pick you both up. Mrs. Weasley was insisting you two could stay with them, but I had to deny. They will be spread apart as well, so they'll be harder to target. Ron and Hermione will be staying with you at the Leaky Cauldron. I want you three to stay together! I cannot stress this enough! Sirius will be at the inn when you get there.
Do take care Harry,
Albus Dumbledore
I feel as if this letter is supposed to be important, yet I can’t help but feel bored by it.
P.S. Do try and be delicate with Hermione when you see her.
The fuck? Why is ALBUS telling Harry to be delicate with Hermione? And for what? Did they date before in this story and you refuse to tell us, Author?
Harry was less that settled by this.
I would be to if an old guy told me to be delicate with a girl.
He carefully put the letter down and moved on to Hermione's letter, wondering why he should need to be 'delicate' with her. His stomach dropped when he read the letter.
Well then, I wonder what’s so bad about her letter.
Dear Harry,
Please forgive my lack of correspondence this summer, I was a bit, preoccupied with a few affairs of mine. Death Eaters got to my father, Harry. He's dead. I can't stand it. I'm so scared, I just don't know what to do. I've been reading the Daily Prophet, and, Harry, it's terrible. Horrible. Absolutely terrifying. He's everywhere. Everywhere. And it's only the beginning.
Hermione Granger
-______________________- Am I supposed to feel bad for her? What good does killing her father have to the plot… If any.
Poor Hermione!
Not really.
Harry shuddered at what this letter was telling him about the condition of the wizarding world. Things were bad, and they could only get worse.
There’s nothing in this story that could get worse then the idea of it.
Dear Harry,
God, Harry, this is horrible. Hermione's a wreak. She came last night saying she just couldn't stay at home. I can't stand seeing her like this. And now Dumbledore's splitting up my whole family. To tell you the truth, I don't think I'd want to be at Hogwarts this year.
Come soon, Harry, please, come soon!
Ron
Why the hell are you writing this? Honestly, this story makes me a very angry drunk.
Tumblr media
I enjoy my drinking time dammit!
Dear Harry, I'm cleared. We got Fudge to believe me about Pettigrew using Snape and Lupin as witnesses. I'll be coming to the Leaky Cauldron to keep an eye on you.
Sirius
LET’S JUST ALL COME TO THE INN EVERYONE! I’M SURE THERE’S ENOUGH ROOM!
Harry felt the largest headache he'd had in his life coming on.
Trust me Potter, till you’ve gotten drunk to the point of wearing twelve hats on your head and walking down two sets of stairs, without dropping any, and then waking up with a hangover the size of Kurotsuchi's ego… You won’t know what a large headache is.
His friends were in danger, Voldemort was everywhere,
Moldybutt, Posidemort, Voldemort, whatever his name is.
he had to protect them, and now Sandra too. This was too much. For the first time in his life,
For the first time in my life I can’t drink this shit way. FUCK!
Harry wished he was just a muggle. Blissfully ignorant, not a care in the world.
Muggles have many cares in the world. We also have wars, dumbass, and if Voldemort threatens the Wizarding world, he threatens the Muggle world…. They ARE on the same planet.
CONCLUSION.
I was not awake enough for this shit.
The plot, well, I hardly see a plot right now. This whole chapter is pretty much the introduction for a poorly done OC, with bonus letters at the end about useless nonsense. Why does Hermione’s dad need to be dead? Why does Dumbledore need a granddaughter? Why is she even in this story?
The story is poorly written and to fast paced for it to work well.
The insertion of a generally useless and unoriginal OC. Seriously, both parents are dead, was raised as a muggle, related to a super important character. Not original in the slightest.
The actual interaction was bland at best.
1.5/10.
Now the fuck outta my office.
ʕಠᴥಠʔノ彡 Shoo!

Vampire at Hogwarts? (1/?)
Summary: Izzy is a vampire/witch attending Hogwarts, the first Hybrid to do so. She meets a few marauders along the way and makes unique friendships.
Pairing: Izzy x Remus; Izzy x Sirius; Izzy x James (friends) Izzy x Lilly (friends)
》》》》》》》》》
The hardest part about being a witch and a vampire was hiding the certain vampire characteristics that made me what I was. I was a hybrid, having been born to a witch mother and a vampire father. It was a shock on both their ends, but they were more than happy to have a daughter.
When I turned eleven, I got my letter from Hogwarts, granting me acceptance to the school of witchcraft and wizardry. My mother was thrilled and I was happy to know that I was a witch myself.
Up until I was eleven, I knew I was a vampire. My father told me that vampires who are bitten will remain the same age as they were when they were turned, but those that are born will grow and age like human children.
The only thing that might make me different is that my mom’s a witch. The mix of magic in my blood may cause my aging process to end up different than the others.
But for now I would attend Hogwarts and work toward graduating. I knew that I was interested in potentially becoming an Auror and defending the Wizarding world.
I was currently in my fifth year at Hogwarts, having been sorted into the Gryffindor house like my mother was. I learned magic quite well and was able to remember things perfectly. I had other enhancements that others didn’t have as well.
My eye sight was more than perfect, letting me see things that a normal 16 year old wouldn’t be able to see. My hearing was that of a cat, and my reflexes were cat-like. I was guaranteed to be the quietest person in the entire school, which helped when I was unable to sleep at night, fueling my midnight excursions outside to hunt.
Yes, I fed on animals for the most part. I didn’t need the constant sustenance that my father needed (he was able to get donated blood from St. Margos) so feeding on animals was often enough to satiate my thirst.
Of course, I had been looking for a magical answer to my thirst, but I would often come up empty handed. I had asked Professor Dumbledore if I would be able to ask the DADA professor about it, but most often those professors were Aurors that weren’t too keen on vampires.
I considered asking the smartest boy in my year, Remus Lupin. I knew he knew more about the Dark Arts things than most students did, but that’s because I knew he was a werewolf.
Yeah, I knew. I could smell it on him, and I could smell it well enough to know that he was bitten and turned instead of being a born wolf. I didn’t ever approach him about it, since I didn’t want him to feel awkward around me.
I knew he didn’t know what I was, but I often thought he was suspicious about it. I wasn’t the most subtle about it, using my reflexes and vampiric talents to be better than most, especially in quidditch.
Oh I was great at quidditch, being a beater for my first two years, then the back up seeker for James Potter. The last three years I was mostly the keeper, since I had the fastest reflexes on the team I was able to determine where the ball was going to be thrown and could stop it in record time.
James and I were friends. Perhaps not the closest, but I knew about his crush on Lilly and how he and his friends got into trouble alot. He askes me for pointers a lot when it comes to Lilly.
“Hey, Izzy? Got a sec?” James asked one afternoon before a game against Ravenclaw. I knew we had the game in the bag, seeing as Ravenclaw didn’t have a lot of sufficient players.
“For you, Potter? I’ve got all the time in the world. Is it about Lilly again?” I was sitting on the bench in the team locker room, slipping my boots on and tucking my pants into them before lacing up.
“That obvious? But yeah. I want to ask her to Hogsmeade this winter near Christmas and I know you always have the best ideas for this type of stuff.”
I rolled my eyes slightly. Of course I did, I could hear Lilly talking to her friends about what her dream man would be, and I knew it was James Potter, but she was too stubborn to see it. So, I’d give him hints about how she liked things, like being asked out.
“Well, one of her favorite flowers blooms right before the peak of winter, they’re called Star Magnolias, you should check those out. She also needs a new scarf. Preferably a green one to match her eyes.” I told him as I stood up and grabbed my broom. His eyes lit up at the mention of how to win her over, and he thanked me before grabbing his broom and taking off toward the team and the field.
The game went over without a hitch, Gryffindor scoring 680 points versus the Ravenclaw 250. James caught the snitch, guaranteeing our win, and we went to the Gryffindor tower to celebrate.
Gryffindor parties were always the most rowdy. Older team mates were able to get tubs of firewhiskey and Butterbeer for everyone and someone brought their music down for a loud night of partying.
After a few shots of firewhiskey (knowing I couldn’t get drunk), with the liquid courage in my belly I was able to dance with the other members of the team, letting loose and having a good time.
Unfortunately, good times didn’t last long for a vampire like me. Halfway through the party, someone managed to put their hand through the common room window, shattering the glass and cutting up his hand.
At the smell of human blood, my mouth began to water. I knew it was bad to want to taste it, but I knew I was in control of my urges. I watched the boy get brought away and cleaned up, someone who was smart enough to fix the window did and the party resumed.
But I wasn’t able to focus much after the smell of blood hit me. How long had it been since I last fed? A week? Two? Maybe. And that was pushing it for me. I found a way sneak out of the party, which wasn’t hard considering everyone was pretty much drunk.
I made it all the way down the hallway before I heard someone. I pulled my wand from my pouch and cast a simple illusion spell over myself, turning my body invisible for a good ten minutes. I slowly made my way down the hall again, watching for the source of the noises.
I got to the secret stairs I used and frowned when I heard voices. Voices I recognized all too well.
“Bloody hell, Padfoot. Just come on! We’re gonna be late and you know how Mooney is when we’re late.” It was James. And I knew he was talking to Sirius.
What were they doing here? I never saw anyone else using these stairs before, so why would someone be on them in such a crucial time for me? I needed to feed, and I needed to feed soon. I was tempted to just go around them, take the moving staircases down to the second floor and out the window there, but that took too much time and Mrs. Norris could probably smell me if I tried that.
My only option was to follow them down the steps to the exit they would leave from. I slowly followed them down the spiral steps, keeping a safe distance so they wouldn’t hear me following them.
Unfortunately in my haste to get outside, I missed a step and slipped, making a loud thudding noise as I landed on the next step. It echoed through the stairway, and I could hear their footstep pause slightly before the sound of paper unfolding.
“Aw, come on mate, we don’t have time to check who it is. We just gotta get there before 11:50. Come on.” I heard them continue their journey and I sighed and kept moving, hurrying to get outside to feed.
I hated feeling hungry. It made me feel sort of bad about hiding it from people, but Professor Dumbledore and my dad told me that vampires frightened people. That the best thing I could do was to hide it. I was trusted to be alone within the school, feeding outside when I had to, but I feared someone would find out and I’d be sent away.
When I finally reached outside, I watched the forms of the two boys hurry off toward the Wamping Willow. I wondered briefly why they were going there, but my attention was then refocused onto the sound of something rustling in the woods.
I could smell it then, the deer that were running around the Forbidden Forest. I felt the tingling in my gums as I fought my fangs coming in. I was late hunting, having not in a few weeks. I was going to make up for it tonight.
I slowly stalked into the forest, keeping my footsteps silent as I stayed downwind of the deer herd. There were… four. Four deer, two bucks, a doe, and a baby. I blinked once and could see better, focusing on the way they would feed on the grass.
It seemed that the doe and the baby would eat at the berries, then one buck would eat, then the other. As if they took turns looking for predators. I gauged my speed, knowing that I was faster than a deer, but if I was going to get them all tonight I was gonna have to be fast and pick them off. Perhaps one by one.
And that’s what I did. I kept up with them enough to stay out of sight, and figured that I should go for one of the bucks first. I waited for one to stay back from the group a bit and attacked as it lifted it’s head to me. I snapped it’s neck, biting past the fur and into the skin and veins to find its blood.
Oh was it heavenly. After having not fed in nearly a month, it was like the sweetest treat I could imagine. The ruby liquid poured into my mouth and slid down my chin as I attempted to get it all. But that didn’t matter now. It never mattered that I was messy. I’d clean up before anyone saw me anyway.
As I finished the buck, I heard the howl of a wolf. But oh, it wasn’t a normal wolf. Ever since I was young, my father told me that werewolves were dangerous. I glanced up at the sky, realizing that tonight was the full moon.
My mind immediately went to Remus. He must be turning tonight. Wait. Was that where James and Sirius were going? We’re they going with Remus when he turned? That was incredibly dangerous!
I shook my head as I turned back to where I could smell the remaining three deer. The one buck was enough to quench the thirst I felt when I smelled the human blood, but I figured that the other two would be good to have just because I hadn’t fed in a while.
I stalked after the remaining deer, tracking them a few miles by scent. When I stopped to look at my surroundings, I froze as another howl ripped from the wolf. Had I gotten that close to him?
I watched the doe wander toward the stream and smirked, creeping toward her as I positioned myself for the kill. It was quick and easy, and draining her was quicker than the buck. I was ready to turn and hunt down the others when I heard something crash through the trees.
I watched as a buck and a large black dog walked through the woods together, heading for the stream I was currently standing in. Luckily, I was downwind and slightly hidden by trees as I watched the strange pair.
Moments later, the werewolf emerged from the bushes as well, scaring off the other buck and the fawn. I frowned and watched as the werewolf and the two other animals interacted with each other. As if they were playing?
I didn’t want a confrontation, knowing I wouldn’t be able to take on a werewolf and a dog that large. If I was careful, I’d be able to sneak my way down the river and back toward the school. I dropped the deer on the edge of the river, dipping my hands in the flowing water before rubbing away at the blood on my mouth.
I disregarded anything that might be on my clothes because that was easy to fix, and then slowly backed my way out of the river onto the opposite side of the bank and up onto land. I would have to cross somewhere else, seeing as crossing there would be too loud. I crept along the bank, watching the trio before deciding I was far enough away.
I crossed quietly. Making sure to not trip myself while walking through the moonlit woods. When I reached the opposite bank, I realized I couldn’t run, that would draw attention. So I slowly walked back toward the school, through the forest.
I heard rustling in the bushes a little ways before I reached the school, and when another deer emerged, I couldn’t have been happier. It was another doe, and I smirked to myself, knowing that it would satisfy me until another night next week.
But before I could pounce on it, a large figure scurried through the woods past me and onto the deer. I growled low in my throat as I watched the creature eat my prey. When I approached slightly, I realized that it was in fact, a werewolf that stole my dinner.
This had to be Remus. There was no way it wasn’t. And he snapped his head to face me as I stepped forward.
Oh shit. Oh SHIT. What do I do? I stood frozen, staring into his eyes. I lowered my head slightly, watching as he sniffed at me. Okay, okay don’t be nervous. Don’t freak out. If he comes at me I’ll run like hell. Maybe whip my wand out? But he didn’t come after me. He sniffed once more before turning from me and going back to the deer.
While his head was turned from me I took it as my chance to haul ass back to the school. When I saw the castle as I broke through the tree line. I sighed, knowing I was safe. I let myself relax a bit as I broke into the school and took the stairs back up to the tower.
As I passed drunken, passed out Gryffindor students, all I could think about is whether or not Remus would remember he saw me in the morning.

Baptize Me - Day 4 of 24
I’ve had a go at writing sweet, baby Regulus in a bit of canon divergence where he survives the cave and is then protected by James and Lily at Godrics Hollow with Lily helping him to find peace and forgiveness.
Inspired by Baptize Me (X Ambassadors) and also available on AO3 and FFN.
