I’ve been rereading Resilience and random little tidbits keep popping into my head so here’s some fun facts!

Hawktail was originally planned to be in a forbidden relationship with Redeye, which we would learn when Petalfoot and Lioncreek accidentally discovered them on their own little rendezvous. Idk if that’ll still be a thing lol.

There was a brief period of time where I considered having Petalfoot and Lioncreek be romantically involved. That faded quickly, but I did have a plan for a kitten between them- a little golden tabby named Fireflykit (a silly name, I know.)

I dunno if I’ll ever get to it, but Lioncreek ends up with a rogue named Barb and adopts their child, Tadpolekit. Barb isn’t keen on joining the Clans, but they want Tadpolekit to be a great warrior. Tadpolekit may or may not basically be Fireflykit 2.0.

Graystar and Volespring were rivals as kids bc Graystar was jealous of how much attention Volespring and her mom got from HER mom (Volespring’s mom had a hard birth, losing multiple kittens, so Graystar’s mom helped out a lot.)

Graystar’s warrior name was probably Grayfang.

Originally Poppykit was going to be the only spirit guide Petalfoot had, but then Featherpaw came into consideration and as the concept grew so did his involvement in Petalfoot’s life.

If he’d made it to adulthood, he would’ve been named Featherfur.

Fluffywing first leaned of warrior life from ShadowClan cats he befriended as they came past his house. Hence why ShadowClan cats were hanging out with the other spirits in Dogwood’s cave.

I had planned a romance between Fluffywing and Tallblaze, possibly resulting in kittens, but I realized later on the age difference was too big to be comfortable for me, so they’re good friends.

Volespring had a huge crush on Littlepelt when they were apprentices.

Graystar may not have ever had kits before, but she's got that patented Angry Mom Stare. She probably got it from her own mom, seeing how she was a pawful as a kid.

Chapter Title: Blackstorm

Yay for Petalpaw! I think this is the longest I've had a cat in my stories stay a kit- nine whole chapters.

Fun Fact- Hollykit was originally gonna be named Rockkit, as a nod to Stonebird, but Blackstorm never struck me as the type to want to name kits after those who are gone or may soon be gone. Also, Hollykit really looks like a Hollykit.

Title: Ruffled Fur

Summary: Sequel to Resilience. With two WindClan cats dead and one RiverClan apprentice brutally injured from a horrible attack, the two Clans are too busy fighting each other to do much of anything against the actual cause. If peace is going to reign once again, it’s going to be up to a group of unlikely allies to save the day.

Chapter Title: Local Cats Pick Fight With Dog, What Happens Next Will Warm Your Heart

Excerpt:

"I wonder if that's what mom saw, in her cave. Another kind of Moonstone. And that's why she stayed so long."

"Did you ever ask?"

"Yeah. She said she didn't know why."

Icekit rolled her eyes. "Adults are weird." The gray and white kitten found herself relaxing a bit on the molly's back as they began to climb a hill towards the Thunderpath, which was separated by a strange tunnel in the middle. It reeked of monster and mildew, so much so that it made both gag even from a respectful distance. "You ever see a horse?"

"Nope! Saw lots of bugs." Pikepaw did a little prance at the mention of insects. "I think they're neat. I mean, they have so many legs! And little thorns on their faces!"

She chuckled. "My sister's sign for bugs is her whiskers all bushed out. She thinks it makes her look like she's got pinchers."

I'm baaaaaaaccccckkkkkk! The doggo is okay, I promise- it got taken to a vet and then got adopted by some local surfers. It's also a husky, if that wasn't clear!

I know this took literally forever to come back, so here's an extra long chapter to make up for it! Only one more chapter for this story- but I'm not done with these kitties yet! Next story will either be Finchcloud-centric OR a whole new kitty! I'm leaning much more heavily toward the new character. =)

Chapter Title: A Learning Experience

Excerpt:

Petalpaw tried her best to stay awake, eyelids drooping, but she was exhausted from working with Lionpaw for days on end. She pressed her muzzle into Barkthroat's shoulder and dozed. Hailface and Badgerberry laughed and chatted with various cats, most of whom the medicine cat apprentice didn't recognize, their voices tinkling like rain water.

Is this what it's like in StarClan? She wondered, watching with awe as the spirit of the kittypet she had spotted earlier engaged with a warrior who reeked of ShadowClan. Everyone comes and goes together, without boundaries? It sounded nice. Comforting.

As the night grew old and day grew young, the voices fell into a hush. The smell of WindClan still surrounded Petalpaw, so she knew they had yet to leave her, but the air had become tense. She forced her eyes to open. A large gray molly immediately grabbed her attention as she moved through the cave with purpose. Her front two canines stuck out of her lips due to overbite. She reminded Petalpaw of Missy, but there was no yellow in her eyes.

"Rise," the gray molly whispered, thrusting her nose into Checkers' scruff. "Come to me, little one."

Petalpaw was surprised when Checkers responded, lifting out of her form like she had some time prior. She hadn't thought a normal cat could hear the spirits, even at a time like this. She'd assumed Lionpaw to be a special case with his fever and torn limb. Could I have nudged the entire Clan awake, and have them see their deceased family and friends? Guilt slammed full-force into her belly. I didn't know!

Go Rowanpaw! I'm so happy for her!
