I just watched Kung Fu Panda 3 for the first time, and I also just found out Kung Fu Panda 4 is coming out next year, and let me tell you, the whole entire time I was watching 3, I was wondering where tf Tai Lung was. Because we found out that the Wuxi Finger Hold sends mortals to the spirit realm, and Po used that on Tai Lung, so Tai Lung has been somewhere in the spirit realm this entire time.
I was mad that they didn't have Po somehow convince Tai Lung to join his side to defeat Kai, or maybe Tai Lung would've already had beef with Kai since joining the spirit realm. Like?? How cool would it have been to have Tai Lung use his nerve attack against Kai?? Or to even watch him, Po, and Tigress work together to take down Kai.
But now that I know another movie is coming out next year where it sounds like Tai Lung might be brought back as one of the antagonists, I can understand why they didn't go down that path. Still. I would've liked to see Tai Lung fighting with Po instead of against him.

I introduce- Lord Wěn Chàng! I swear he's nicer than he looks lol. Wen is a warrior through and through, having spent most of his adult and adolescent life learning and practicing the ways of combat. Despite his marred expression and grisly lifestyle Wen remains optimistic and carries an almost carefree attitude, always being the one to lift up his fellow soldiers and think up unorthodox methods to victory. Having worked his way up the ranks- Wen is adaptable and goes with the flow, which is good! Because his life just got a lot more complicated now that he's been adopted by the Emperor for his military achievements... to then be married off to demons for peace... yeah. But at least he had his trusty head maid and best friend Lianhe and his close companion Macaque, right? :)

I got an ask a few days ago about a fanfic I wrote years ago for Kung Fu Panda, and it’s gotten me back into the mood to write for it, because the hyperfixation may come and go but my love for the series is always strong~
Going back and reviewing my old content, especially the angstier stuff, it was clearly written by an unstable and mostly unmedicated young adult who was venting all of his frustrations through her favorite characters. I’ve made a previous attempt at more balanced, in-character content (shameless plug time!), and I’d like to give it yet another go, because I think my ideas were good but the executions were… not. 😅 This series has so much good angst fodder! I wanna realize it to its fullest (or at least fluffiest) potential.
Deeeeeefinitely need to go back and spend more time with the characters. It’s been too long!

that final chapter of jekyll and hyde is sooo fascinating bc a lot of that letter is so ambiguous speaker-wise. a good chunk of it is by the person who considers himself jekyll, as he is the one who signs the letter off and drives most of the written account, but it dips into identification with Hyde on a first person singular basis not a negligible amount of times. but most of it seems to be written by some unknown speaker, someone who, intentionally or not, considers themselves to be neither Jekyll or Hyde; there’s something quite chilling about reading an account by a person you initially assume is Jekyll, someone whose story you’ve been following since the beginning at this point, only for them to start referring to “Henry Jekyll” and Hyde in the third person . i know the whole novella is themed around the ambiguity of Jekyll and Hyde as separate people but christ, man
