can u imagine if they tried to make atla today. 'yeah here's my pitch about a child who has the weight of the balance of both the physical world and an ethereal spirit world on his shoulders on top of being the last survivor of a literal genocide. yeah he's spiritually enlightened already in a non Christian religion, and reincarnation happens to him and him alone. yeah no the show's major themes are about how war and imperialism are bad for everyone involved, including the world around us. no, there'll still be cool fight scenes but it will also fundamentally explain the difference between defending oneself from an oppressor vs using that power to oppress and how even children can grasp that- where are you going'

@rebootsnake A few possible scenarios here:
You might earn yourself a favor (?).
It might demand a more extravagant gift from you in exchange for a favor (?).
It might lead you to a powerful entity with a distant stare and a pretty mirror who will grant you your heart's desires for the low low price of something such as [insert the most precious thing you've ever known] [insert the most precious thing you will never know].

it's funny how when you'll give actual explanations as to why people are racist or transphobic or something similar, like how that happens and why it's happening now out of all times, that go beyond "white people/cishet people evil" so many people will instantly attack you for "apologia"
I think it kinda comes from this idea that identity politics has pushed that people of the unmarked categories like male white and cishet can't possibly struggle with things in life. but economic crises, which we have been in for 16 years now, affect everyone that's not part of the ruling class. prolonged economic instability alienates people from the status quo, from established parties, rhetoric and such. they begin to look elsewhere for solutions. the powers that be know to counteract this with reactionary politics. using scapegoating they'll promise the return to an (often imaginary) better yesterday, the very definition of reactionary politics.
these ideas sound plausible and actionable. things used to be better after all. those scapegoats used to not be there (as visibly) after all.
the way of solving this isn't to go "waaahh people are evil and fascism is back, woe is me" but to a) point out that these reactionary politics are not going to solve the problem because they are not the cause b) point out the actual cause of the problem (capitalism) c) offer actual alternatives (organizing, strikes, expropriating the bourgeoisie, and eventually total labor democracy)

all the people that claim to be engenes and fans of enhypen are really starting to get on my nerves. like, i was just watching clips of riki's live from today, and i came across the clip of him saying that he would prefer the puma/cheetah emoji over the duck one. then immediately after, people in the chat started to spam duck emojis. and, yes, while i understand that it's literally just an emoji, and it's really never this serious—he DIRECTLY expressed that he preferred one thing over the other, and then "fans" started doing the complete opposite. i imagine that it has to be kind of frustrating when the people that you take time out of your night to stream for don't respect even the simplest of wishes. (like how are you supposed to feel comfortable sharing an authentic version of yourself if your "fans" don't even seem to hold a modicum of respect for you?)
and yes, ultimately, i am stating my opinion on discourse about an emoji—however, i think it speaks to a larger issue of fan/artist boundaries. we are not enhypen's buddies, we are not enhypen's pals, we are not enhypen's best friends. we never will be, and some people desperately need to understand that. we are fans, not friends. we need to give artists ample reasons to be proud of the fanbase that they've cultivated. we need to let artists thrive in a healthy environment that we create and maintain. and, we need to respect the artists we love and look up to (esp if the task is using one emoji over the other like wtf?).

Not to be a Karen but if the local bus service won't start providing me with an explanation as to why, for the fourth time this month, (not counting the day they were striking, which I'm okay with) three scheduled busses in a row just "won't come today" I'm gonna go ahead and assume it's because the bus drivers just couldn't be bothered and all went for a beer instead.
Signed,
Increasingly hangry customer who just wants to get home and have dinner already.
(I will Not be eating at the fast food place again. Nope. I refuse.)
