If only we had more time with them. If only these veterans all lived to see the end of the Titan curse and truly be free and live in peace

Only Rico survived out of everyone here and she eventually became a Jaegerist.
Tumblr media
When you think about it, it does make sense with her character. She truly cared about the lives of her comrades and the people of the island, not towards the entire human population in the world.
And most likely as many of the islanders, blames and hates Marley for sending Pure Titans to them for the past 100 years. She lost her two of her classmates from the training corps, Ian and Mitabi cause of them.

This might say a lot about Lilith's personality, but Abel did things Rosenkreuz couldn't stand. So, did Lilith think of Abel like the Dietrich of her day? Was that their dynamic? Aka, she hated his guts. And was Abel abusive towards her? Aka, think about all the shit Dietrich has done to Esther.
Was this also meant to foreshadow Esther's death and Dietrich's redemption?
Also, Catherina is meant to parallel Lilith, so she would be more like her then Esther.

pathologic but it's a lost 1920s german expressionist film [id under cut]
[id:
image 1: a digital drawing of a fake poster, using bright colours and rough, painterly brushstrokes. the title, 'pest' (german for 'plague'), is written at the top in spiky black text. in the foreground a man dressed as a tragedian is staring intently at the viewer, his hands raised and splayed as if in horror. in the background, the town is framed against a red sky, with the polyhedron in yellow behind.
images 2 and 3: fake casting sheets for the film, with the names of the actors and the characters they are playing above a black-and-white portrait photograph of them. all the text is in german. in english it reads: 'Pest', a film by Robert Wiene Alfred Abel as Victor Kain Ernst Busch as Grief Lil Dagover as Katerina Saburova Ernst Deutsch as the Bachelor Carl de Vogt as Vlad the Younger Marlene Dietrich as the Inquisitor Willy Fritsch as Mark Immortell Alexander Granach as Andrey and Peter Stamatin Bernhard Goetzke as General Block Dolly Haas as the Changeling Ludwig Hartau as the Haruspex Brigitte Helm as Anna Angel Brigitte Horney as Maria Kaina Emil Jannings as Big Vlad Gerda Maurus as Yulia Lyuricheva Lothar Menhert as Georgiy Kain Asta Nielsen as Lara Ravel Ossi Oswalda as Eva Yan Fritz Rasp as Stanislas Rubin Conrad Veidt as Alexander Saburov and Tragedian Paul Wegener as Oyun Gertrud Welcker as Aspity
image 4: four digital sketches of set designs for various locations. all are strongly influenced by expressionist imagery, using extreme angles, warped perspective, and dramatic shapes. they are labelled 'street 1' (a street lined with houses), 'street 2' (a square with a lamppost and a set of steps), 'polyhedron exterior' (the polyhedron walkway), and 'cathedral interior' (the dais at the far end of the cathedral).
image 5: four digital drawings in a black-and-white watercolour style, showing fake stills from the film. all are similarly distorted and lit by dramatic lighting. the first shows katerina's bedroom, with katerina standing in the centre of the floor. the second shows the interior of an infected house. the third shows daniil staring out of the frame in horror, one hand on his head and the other raised as if to ward something off. the fourth shows an intertitle with jagged white text reading 'the first day' against a dark background.

How Trinity Blood manga and anime missed a huge chunk of Isaak's character
Yes, I am talking about Isaak Fernand von Kampfer, this guy.
Tumblr media
The differences between Trinity Blood manga, Trinity Blood anime and Trinity Blood light novel is very big, even when the manga tried its best to follow the light novel, the complexity of Isaak's character still gets chipped and shrunk.
In the light novel, there are several chapters that combine to give a larger picture of Isaak's personality, aside from the cold, mechanical cruelty: RAM 4 Lady Guilty, RAM 5 Radiohead, the Overcount scene that should be in RAM 6, ROM 4 Clan of the Fang.
In RAM 4 Lady Guilty, Isaak has a conversation with Dietrich while feeding his pet Undynes. The way these two talk show a certain understanding in between them.
Tumblr media
A huge portion of Isaak and Dietrich's synergy is then described in RAM 5 Radiohead, as the two of them boarded the "Bachelor's Pride" cruise from Londinium to Germanicus and the whole show happened on it.
Then in Overcount scene, when Isaak got bombarded by Tres, Leon and Abel, Dietrich came to assist Isaak's retreat.
In ROM 4 Clan of the Fang, after Guderian finished fighting with Monica and had his right eye gouged out, Isaak complimented him for his hard work and said he can rest now. In the manga, Isaak simply said they have seen everything and can make their exit now.
My point is both anime and manga cut off some important character-development chapters of Isaak, for reason (manga only goes with ROM), or alternating/adding new scenes to showcase Isaak's cruelty (the scene with Dietrich in Empress of the Night arc) causes many impressive sides of Isaak to be lost.

MARCH 2ND, 2024
A POLITICAL RENDEZVOUS at THE CLOISTERS
FINAL PART
The auction is over. The winners are announced. Guests leave the venue either celebrating, or cursing the Cloisters for all they're worth.
The protest outside the venue caused some disturbance — including making it hard for Abel Rousseau (@abelrousseau) and Alan Dietrich (@alandietrich) to leave the premises, getting trapped by its chaos —, and it ended with a few pairs of wrists in tight handcuffs. In the list of names you can find Sebastian Sideris (@sebastiansideris) and Vanja Janko-Pagonis (@vanjajanko-pagonis), who were arrested by Rowan Halliday (@chiefhalliday) and Flynn Halliday (@flynnxhalliday).
The Democrats rounded out the event with a whopping $171,600 worth of donations through the auction, despite the mysterious disappearance of the garland style diamond necklace — which had been been purchased for $30,000... but ultimately stolen by Zane Saxena (@zanexsaxena) before it could be to its new owner. Across the isle, Republicans ended the auction at $91,650 worth of donations.
Coincidence or not, the same results were reflected on the cover of the New York Times the very next day — with the Democrats leading the polling numbers by 5%.
EVENT WRAP-UP INFO
The roles assigned above are a reflection of the 'BY THE END OF PART 3...' prompt provided in the previous part. Please do read back in case you missed it! Points* were tallied by the admins and the characters with most/least bucks were given the plot points above — which they can do anything with from that! While those pointers must happen, everything else in plotting is up to you.
*The points which were taken into consideration were: Replies posted + challenges completed, excluding only auction wins as we wanted to avoid wealthier characters to have an advantage over the rest. Worry not, those auction points will still be added to your burnie bucks bank — they just weren't included in this particular in-character round up.
The hijacking of an auction item was purchased in the burnie bucks store by Zane Saxena.
In addition, Mathias Malkovich is the character who acquired the most amount of points overall during the event, with a total of 1720 points. As a result, the player will get to choose a reward as offered by the admins. Those options being:
Promotion to Senior Hitman — A level above the one Mathias currently holds, where he would then earn higher income, and be assigned to higher profile targets. (Alternatively, a different position within the Hitman realm, which can be suggested by the player.)
Get Out of Jail Free Card — What it says on the tin. Mathias may do one thing of his choice, be it a crime or otherwise, and get away with it with no consequences.
Always-Available Blame Key — One Blame Key which Mathias may use for anything, whenever he wants to; free of charge and that can be used without constraints of any events, plots, etc.
OOC INFO
PART FOUR out of FOUR. The event is now over.
Members don't need to drop event threads if they don't wish to, but we recommend trying to wrap them in a timely manner. <3
Members are also free to use the plot points featured on this post as talking points for future threads or interactions, if they wish to.
If you believe we made any mistakes or missed anything in tallying up points, please shoot us an IM and we'll work with you to make sure you get the rewards you worked hard for!
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED <3

Do you know by mistake if anyone's height was disclosed?
There wasn't much official specifications. When I remember right, Abel (and Cain) are around 190 cm and Esther around 155 cm, Tres and Dietrich around 168 - but not sure.
But there are in one of the anime art books (Anime Basic Art Design) some drawings to each episode showing how tall the characters are in comparison to each other.
Tumblr media
Anime designs to episode “Silent Noise”.
Also there was one (or more?) post in the old community forum, where somebody tried to figure out the approximate height of the characters.

misc thoughts.
i don't necessarily subscribe to the 'isaak is manipulating cain' theory / headcanon but.
i also don't... not... think that.
like, to preface this, i think cain is pure id. he's insane. like, the epitome of came back wrong but he seems to be able to... adapt? depending on who he's with. and i think this is one part intentional manipulation, and also one part the old (and extremely lonely and desperate to please else he be thrown out and considered defective) cain surfacing.
pre-lilith's murder, i think his connection to abel is what kept him even halfway stable. abel was his conscience and his barometer for right and wrong. abel wanted to kill humans and leave the vampires alone, and cain - kind of hated them both! because the vampires were once the humans that made their lives hell.
cain wanted to kill both species and was being driven by pure destructive impulses, but he channeled them to the target abel wanted. right up until he fucked up and murdered lilith, which he did because fighting her was upsetting abel. i do not think that cain was ever really on the 'side' of the colonists, he was an always has been just on the side of himself and his siblings. but i also don't think he originally planned on turning around and killing them once they won. ( though this may just be largely due to the given the fact that crusnik need the bacillis to survive, 01's rational was that they needed to survive so it had food )
but it's interesting to contrast it with post-lilith murder. where he just wants to destroy everything. there's no actual malice in it, either. no good or evil. and i think it's a mixture of isaak's end goals, the 900 years of isolation, and 01's instincts.
we see that he is abel to connect to people when he's allowed to his own devices - his affection towards esther, twisted as it may be - is genuine. and that's something isaak has to monitor carefully. the bond that cain has with esther is so interesting given that he and isaak literally raised dietrich, but he doesn't seem to hold that same soft spot for him. he just wants to fuck with him and make him miserable, or just completely disregards him.
isaak seems to genuinely believe in rebirthing the world through fire. and so cain's like yeah, okay, we can blow it all up! and isaak is monopolizing all his time and trying to keep him focused because at this point, cain is a fucking mess.
and i feel like if he did regain himself, like the old him in his entirety, killing lilith and killing esther's last living blood relative right in front of her might crush him more than the millions upon millions of lives he took. because he hurt two people he genuinely valued, and he can never put that right again.

More obscure muses ( introduction ) series.
Fandom: TRINITY BLOOD.
Muse #4 -ESTHER BLANCHETT.
Tumblr media
Age: 18 ( manga, anime, light novels )
Esther Blanchett is one of the main protagonists of Trinity Blood. She is introduced as a novice nun/rebel who meets Abel Nightroad in Istvan and she becomes The Lady Saint after the Mark of a Lady Saint/Imitation Star Arc. She's also the current queen of Albion, the equivalent to the real world's Great Britain.
Esther is shown to have two different personalities in the anime, manga and novel:
In the anime, she first appears as a girl who is riddled with grief and guilt after murdering the person who was responsible for the death of her foster mother, but she is shown to be a sweet, calm and kind girl who is stubborn at times. In the manga, she is a more short-tempered girl with a strong sense of justice. She is a member of the human resistance who first appears under the guise of a boy. Abel crashes into her as he was fighting off crows. She attempts to stop Gyula Kádár's tyranny, but her church is destroyed by the Star of Sorrow, killing Laura Vitez (Esther's foster mother) in the process. After witnessing Gyula sacrifice his life for her's, Esther questions why people have to kill each other, and she eventually sets off on a journey to find an answer. After meeting Ion and the other Methuselah in the Empire, Esther realizes Methuselah and humans were the same. By the end of the Mark of a Lady-Saint arc, Esther she does not understand why people had to die, but she knows it is wrong. She therefore decides to embrace her title as the "Lady Saint," a which she initially she rejected, in the hopes that she could change the world. Compared to the anime, Esther is shown to be quite clever and a more skilled fighter. In the novels, she is shown to be a fearless and rather short-tempered leader of the human resistance and novice nun. Although a capable leader and fighter, she is double-crossed by Dietrich. Unlike the manga and anime, she is not initially afraid of Abel Nightroad's Krusnik form and she is confused as to why he does not use his power. Eventually, she becomes traumatized after witnessing his full power and her personality is very similar to how she is portrayed in the manga after the first story arc throughout the series.
Esther's arcana in Thores' tarot cards is The Star. Esther's manga cover portrait depicts her with red roses and thorns. Red roses symbolize the Virgin Mary and the thorns may be a reference to The Crown of Thorns. In the manga's Alice in Wonderland-themed covers, Esther is shown as Alice.
