just saw a graphic saying that the average person living in US emits 16 tons of CO2/year and that you would have to live 58 million years to emit what shell emitted in 2022. it then concluded by saying youre not responsible for the problem but u can be a part of the solution so share and download our app :)

#chatter #also 58 million years is wrong #according to the 2022 sustainability report by shell they emitted 58 million tons that year #58.000.000/16 = 3.625 million #which means that 3.625 million people emit the same amount as shell does yeehaw #ABSOLUTELY we need to hold corporations accountable AND need to make emitting a ton of CO2/green house gases expensive #OR really inconvenient! #and ABSOLUTELY we need to try to do what we can but we also need to recognize the absolute privilege it is that reducing your emissions #can be #like not everyone can do everything (i.e. bike to work or be vegan or not shop at department stores or compost or whatever!) #and like we GOTTA accept that!! #anyways firm believer of doing what you can
