playing kingdom hearts for first time ever. its a cute game, but my big issues is that i give negative shits about a find the girl plotline when the girl in question has the character agency of a cardboard cutout

#frankly i am here for the promised plot insanity #also for piercing together the ff7 + squall world #i caved and wikid it and its definitely some kind of own world not directly related to either game #which just makes it more fun to try and figure out how it all relates #adwen plays kh1 #also this game is really not impressing me in terms of female characters #kairi has no personality other than love interest #aerith has been reduced to mysterious explantion girl #yuffie is... yuffie #jasmine? lmao #the only female characters with any sort of personality are alice jane and maleficent #“its a product of its time” yeah sure #but they also chose to prioritize other things over giving their female characters more than the barest minimum possible #and in jasmine case not even that

My blasphemous kingdom hearts experience thus far:

Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix: nearly rage quit twice. Reached final save point at level 53, wasn't strong enough to beat final boss sequences, looked up recommended level, didn't feel like leveling up 10-15 times. Cutscened the ending

Re:chain of memories: actually rage quit due to the worlds being such rehashes from kh1. Cutscened the rest. Highly enjoyed cutscene actually

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix: thus far have not felt urge to rage quit, but also like, in a game so misogynistic its gay I'm not surprised they removed the element from Mulan where her cunning / womanly skill of looking at things from a perspective of something other than brawn got removed in favor of ...brawn...

But I am disappointed
