as you put your phone back into your pocket, silently waiting for the next customer to come in, you looked around the cafe. it had nice lighting, and a good aesthetic. honestly, you wouldnt mind working here the whole school year. your coworkers were nice, and you easily got to know them first day.

their names were; chaewon, yunjin, and haewon. (and much more).. the one that you were closest with at the moment was yunjin. she was funny, and super loud. she worked as a barista, mostly joking around so loud in the back with chaewon even the people at the counter could hear them..

it was normal when the students from your school stopped by at the cafe—just to see what it was all about. and honestly, you couldn’t blame them at all. the coffee was to die for, but who knew the queen bee of the school would visit for a drink?

“what? yizhuo, no i wont.” aeri spoke, as she was on a voice call with yizhuo. she took one of her airpods out, grabbing the airpods case out of her pocket as she stuck it back it in. “maybe you will see her!” ning giggled through the phone, “youre just as irritating as her,” aeri clicked her tongue as she arranged her glasses on her face, continuing to walk. “am not! shes not even irritating, you guys are just enemies, thats why.” ning stated. “enemies for a reason.”

as aeri got to the cafe, opening the double doors, she hung up the call with yizhuo and put her airpod back into the case. she looked up from her phone, first seeing nobody at the counter, but a familiar face came into view.

she didnt think much of it at first, but when you turned to her, she just wanted to walk out right then and there.

she put her phone into her pocket as she walked over to the counter. “..what would you like?” you spoke, trying to refrain eye contact, staring at the cash register. she rolled her eyes, “can i get a different worker?” she asked. “petty much? and no, you can’t. just order, aeri..” you sighed, looking at her features, almost falling to the floor.

GLASSES? NO MAKEUP???? oh shes gonna be the death of you.. in the best worst way possible!!

“did you just call me petty?” she scoffed, her eye twitching. “its the truth.” you tapped your fingers on the marble counter, at this point, you just wanted to get this done with. “one green tea..” she trailed off, grabbing her phone and opening apple pay. “i can pay with apple pay, right?” she asked, “..yes.” you assured as she paid, rolling her eyes once more before walking away to an empty table.

you went to the back, wanting to just end it all. WHY DID UCHINAGA AERI HAVE TO BE HERE..

you soon came out with her drink, walking over to the counter, “green tea for aeri,” you called, sliding it onto the counter. you were about to walk away when you heard her speak, “youre still annoying even outside of school.” she took her drink. you decided to stay quiet as she walked away, sitting back down.

“..i swear to god.” you mumbled.
