And now Hashirama speaks again. “Izuna-san,” he says, and his voice is truly soft for once, full of the damning kindness that made this Village true in the end, “Do you want this? Him?”

Izuna hears the truth in those words, and he knows that if says No now, this will all end, Tobirama will leave, and depending on his answer Hashirama might continue or might stop as well.

And—

And Izuna—Izuna bites the inside of his cheeks, he hears Hashirama saying you can have this again, thinks of the look on Tobirama’s face, and then he meets Tobirama’s gaze for a single second before squeezing his eyes shut and turning his face against Hashirama’s neck with a nod to whisper a shaky “Yes. Please.”

A spark of chakra, the sound of papers rustling and falling to the floor, and then Tobirama's hand closes around Izuna's ankle as the man steps out of his flash step right in front of him, and it feels so right Izuna forgets how to breathe for a moment. Tobirama's other hand comes up to cup his face, thumb brushing against lips Izuna didn't realize he was biting anxiously.  “...May I kiss you?”
