Confession: I have been obsessed with Louis de Pointe du Lac for a long, long time. Dream Lestat, this taunting, menacing, affectionate, theatrical, bloodied, sexy ghost that is explicitly Louis’s point of view, Louis’s guilt and Louis’s longing? This spectre of Lestat is by far my favourite version of Lestat across the Vampire Chronicles media.

When you are gone from them, the people who love you the most try to feel you and remember you, keep you with them in a way that’s closest to what they love so much about you. I love Louis. Louis loves Lestat. And so, I love Louis’s Lestat.

“It’s Only a Paper Moon” is THE Loumand song.

While the song originally came out in 1933, it didn’t become popular until after WWII, when singers like Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, and Frank Sinatra began releasing famous covers of it (so around the time Louis and Armand first got together). The song is featured in Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire, which is one of the most famous and beloved pieces of media set in New Orleans (as someone who currently lives in NoLa, I swear people here freaking LOVE this play). The scene in Streetcar that features this song is the scene where it’s revealed that the main character, Blanche, has been lying to and manipulating her loved ones. And the song itself? It sounds like a very cliché and cheesy love song, but if you listen to the lyrics, it’s about someone trying to convince their lover to stay in a world— and, by extension, in a relationship— that is, at it’s core, fake and an illusion.

Again, it is literally THE Loumand song and no one can convince me otherwise.

So my normal site that I watch (whispers "pirate") Interview with the Vampire on is down and I can't access it. My friend Nims has been working on finding me an alternative but so far we're having no luck.

If you, like me, watch IWTV this way, I'd appreciate a link to whatever you're using, cause I am desperate. I'm in the UK and it took us almost 8 months to get series 1 legally. I don't want to block the tags and try and avoid spoilers, but I'll have too.
