The Tranquilizer
In this AU the justice league and Danny have a sort of 'truce' where danny is part of the justice league but he's a heavy hitter so he only really comes out when it's a dire situation. (He was hit with the full jack fenton growth spirt in this)
Danny is also ruling the entire infinite realms as his main occupation, and is studying as a (whatever) major.
So combined with the recent attack on earth which he was called to, his finals and the new influx of ghosts and their paperwork Danny has been running off of a few hours of sleep and a weird concoction of caffeine and redbull. This admittedly was not good for his health and it was seriously starting to worry his significant other, a ferocious goth, Sam.
______
Sam has had enough of Danny's nonsense he had not come to bed for the last 4 days and has been working himself to death no pun intented. So she packed up her things and made her way to the place she knew Danny would be.
______
Danny knew this was coming, it had not happened in years bit Danny knew Sam never left home without it. He was just hoping that she would have atleast waited till he was done with he's meeting! What would Martian manhunt think of him after seeing his pregnant wife tranquilize him? Oh and how the hell was she able to carry his 6'3 figure while pregnant?!

Roughin' It Out, Livin' It Up.
series masterlist!
Chapter five: Hello, rural georgia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This whole-farm idea wasn't a terrible idea but was certainly a risk you weren't one-hundred percent sure you should be taking. But what other shot did you have? The others didn't have any ideas, you certainly didn't know America at all and so that had slimmed things down pretty easily.
You still weren't used to the hot rays of the Georgian sun or the American weather at all for a matter of fact. All you had ever really known was the 'bipolar' weather back home, but even then it wouldn't get this hot. "I can't believe I'm saying this but, I miss the miserable weather back home (London)." You sigh, ending your statement with a dry chuckle due to your dehydration. You had given the last of your water to Sherry and Akira, for the obvious reasons being Sherry was a little girl and Akira was pregnant herself.
When you had eventually arrived at the desired location of Tammy's uncle Lenny's Farm, or as you'd seen on the sign 'Len and Lisa's Farmyard.' with a messily drawn, now faded chalk apple on the wooden sign hanging from the metal fence. You found yourself smiling lightly at the friendly atmosphere of the place, this was going to work out. It had to.
"You think they're still here?" Priya questions, glancing inquisitively at Tammy- who was staring not back at her, but at the soft green farmhouse lodge not too far in the distance - with vibrant ivy plants, dull green, lobed, and with distinct light veins that wrapped themselves around the house almost like it was shielding it from danger and a pretty red door - she nods, "I know they are." staring at the dog that sat patiently at the window, tail wagging excitedly.
---
Night had fallen, and as it turns out it was only Lenny and his dog Harley, and the family from the next land over, the greene's. Lenny was a decently built, 5'6, reserved man who had let his niece into his land without hesitation, and even though he was cold toward the strangers with her, you could tell he had the right intentions. His dog Harley - a Cavachon mixed with a King Charles cavalier with lemon, white and beige fur, and those chocolate brown eyes - was certainly a joy to be around, he seem to love a fuss and some cuddles, he was truly a gift. A fluffy, friendly gift.
Here you all were, sat by the sofa and some on the armchairs or the hardwood floor with the patterned rug lying on it sharing stories with one another, the only source of light being the warm fire erupting from the fireplace. You hadn't spoken much- too exhausted to say anything but wakeful enough to listen.
It had been a good night for a while, spirits were high but of course...what goes up will always come down. Sherry - being young and unknowing - had asked about the pretty lady in one of the photos in the framed collages. Lenny had frowned dreadfully. Tammy is quick to detect the frown, and forewarns "You don't have to tell us anything, if you don't-"
Lenny interrupts, and an appreciative and thoughtful smile climbs its way onto his face. "Nah," he drags it out before continuing, he glances to the floor, stroking his furry companion to seek comfort "It's quite alright, Lisa was the light of my life, my first love, my last. Sick people got her sick, and like the sick people, she went too. No other simple way to say it..now it's just me, my dog, and these lovely people," he motions to the family who shared seats with some of you on the couch, and the two younger girls who sat on the floor below them due to the lack of room ", been for a few months, and you fella's now...I guess."
--
You had all headed off to bed, but you found it hard to sleep. So much to think about, too little time to process it all. You didn't even know what the world was like fully out there yet, but you had gotten a taster at the post that other night.
The sleeping arrangement wasn't the coziest, but you were safe nonetheless. It was you, then Priya, then Cris, Tammy, Beth, and Maggie. Akira and Sherry had been given the guest room for obvious reasons. Lenny took the pull-out couch, with his dog at his side. Otis and Patricia took Lenny and Lisa's bedroom and that left Hershel who was sleeping in the bathtub, you had made a note to swap with him tomorrow night.
"Hey," you felt a hand tap the back of your shoulder, it was Priya, she sighs and continues, "you must be cold, share my blanket."
After a moment of shuffling, you felt a wave of warmth flood you. "Thank you." you say, and she nods appreciatively before she leans closer, "you have all the time to think in the morning, we've had a long one...try and sleep."
It didn't take long until your exhaustion had hastily caught up to you.
Quick A/N: chapters will get longer but I'm wondering if you guys like it so far? Leave a comment and let me know, I'll be dropping some other stuff pretty soon too! I have a Wattpad where I write, too! Enjoy your day, night, afternoon, or anything in between wherever you are!
