yknow if theres something im grateful for about my descent back into the hetalia fandom two years ago, it's that i've just accepted that fandom likes playing with fucked up ideas sometimes. and that's fine as long as it doesn't actually hurt anyone.

interacting with fandom like that makes it a whole lot easier to just. be a fan instead of a fucking cop

#me #thoughts bc people on the onk subreddit are complaining about the hoshinocest posts #and the people that got muted on the onk discord for hoshinocest spamming #and its kinda like. yeah the subreddit probably isnt the best audeince for that shit and the discord people were being annoying #but theres just. so much vitriol at just the thought of entertaining fucked up ideas about these fictional characters #and it just feels more and more like. fandom has just been about policing each other #and figuring out whats the most correct most unproblematic most supported by canon take and adhering to that always #which is such a restrictive way to look at fandom. #and ultimately a lot less fun #sigh just frustrated at fandom stuff again
