Too Much Sun
Adrian Chase/Vigilante x Reader (Fluff)
Tumblr media
Summary: After spending way too much time outside on a hot summer day, you find yourself overheated. Adrian Chase starts to worry about you when you barely answer his texts, but good thing he was supposed to come over tonight anyway. (Crossposted to AO3)
Rating: General Audiences
CW: Mentions the symptoms of dehydration and overheating, such as nausea, lightheadedness, muscle weakness, and the like. Mentions of a friends with benefits style relationship. Mentions of someone falling in the shower and injuries related to that.
Word Count: 2,754
Welp, you’d done it again. You got yourself overheated.
It happened at least once a year, usually amounting to nothing but some mild dehydration. Since you loved summer, it was very easy for you to lose track of time, overdo it and stay outside for way too long. Which is exactly what happened yesterday. Between the sun burn from forgetting sunblock, the achy feeling from the sun burn, the muscle aches from mowing and overall sick feeling from dehydration, you had been pretty miserable since yesterday afternoon.
The sad part was, you had been doing good with staying hydrated up until one of your neighbors caught you as you were about to head inside for the day. You lost track of time talking to him and, an hour and a half later, you finally made it out of the early afternoon sun, but it was too late by that point.
Dehydration due to talking. People always did say you talked too much, but that was a new one for you. Harcourt promised to never let you live it down when you called in. Luckily, the mission you were currently on was still largely in the preliminary stages. Harcourt, John and Leota were still analyzing all of the data Waller had sent over. You, Chris, and Adrian wouldn’t be needed until it was time for recon.
You spent most of the day in bed, in and out of a light dose, with your tv just loud enough for background noise. A headache had creeped in at some point behind your forehead and occasionally throbbed behind your eyes. You felt weak and achy all over. The sheets on your bed, despite being your preferred kind, just felt irritating right now. You occasionally got up to take a cool shower, put on more aloe and refill your water, but apart from that, you stayed in bed.
Not long into the evening, you realized how truly tired you were and decided to call it an early night. The sun was still up, only about halfway to the horizon on its way to setting, making this a very early night. But you knew it wouldn’t mess up your schedule. Judging by how you felt, you knew you would be asleep for a long time. You settled down, getting comfortable under your sheet and light blanket. You were asleep not long after you closed your eyes.
Tap taptaptap tap.
Tap taptaptap tap.
Tap taptaptap tap.
The pattern kept repeating itself, only pausing for a few moments before starting again.
Eventually, you were able to open your eyes, but you had to fight with them to keep them open. It felt like your eyelids were weighted down.
Tap taptaptap tap.
Tap tapta-
The tapping cut off as you slowly sat up, which made you look over to the window. It took a few seconds for your eyes to focus. The room was completely dark now except for the streetlights shining in through your open curtains. When they finally did, you saw Vigilante’s silhouette outlined in the moonlight just outside.
It wasn’t surprising to see him there. This certainly wasn’t the first time he had popped over in the middle of the night. If you had anything to say about it, it definitely wouldn’t be his last. The rest of the 11th Street Kids didn’t know it yet, but you and Adrian Chase had been hooking up fairly often over the last couple of months. Once to twice a week, at least. More if schedules allowed.
Well.
In all reality, you couldn’t say they didn’t know anymore. Not for certain, at least, and that was due to Adrian.
Ever since that first time you had sex with him, Adrian would not stop staring at you anytime the two of you were around each other. He would blush deeply whenever you looked at him. And if you tried to talk to him? You would get a ramble for several minutes about something completely unrelated to the topic you just brought up to him. Harcourt and Leota knew for sure judging from the glances they gave you whenever Adrian went on one of these. But Chris and John didn’t seem to have noticed it. You were certain they would’ve said something if they had. Eagly did though, and he used it as an excuse to peck Adrian anytime he let his rambling get away from him.
You tossed the covers back and swung your legs off the bed. However, when you went to stand and take a step towards the window, your legs started feeling achy and weak. Then the room stated spinning, which forced you to stumble backwards back down onto the bed. Suddenly, instead of just one Vigilante, there were two Vigilante’s standing outside your windows.
“Fucking hell, you okay?” you heard him ask loudly through the glass.
You shook your head to say “no” and held up one finger in a “just a moment” gesture. Once the room stopped spinning, you got back to your feet, but much slower this time, and carefully made your way over to the window. After unlocking it, you opened it a bit then leaned against the wall next to the window. Adrian took over, pushing it the rest of the way up. You had been feeling so bad, you had completely forgotten he was coming over tonight. Normally, you’d have left it unlocked and open a bit so he could just come straight in.
“What the hell happened, Y/N?” he said as he climbed in through the window. “You don’t look good, are you sick?”
“No,” you said, sagging slightly as your legs started to feel weak again. “I overworked myself outside yesterday and got overheated.”
Adrian had just pulled off his mask and he blinked several times at you, worry on his face. You would be hard pressed to say this wasn’t absolutely adorable since his hair was damp from sweat and sticking up in cow licks all over the place.
“Do you need a doctor?” Adrian took off his gloves, then gently touched the back of one hand to your forehead, then your cheek. “Fuck, you feel really warm. I know a good veterinarian I could take you to really quick.”
“It’s okay, it’s probably just heat exhaustion and dehydration,” you said, starting to head back to the bed. You stumbled and Adrian was at your side immediately to help you. “There’s not much they can do about it now, except hook me up to a bag of-“
You suddenly realized exactly what Adrian had said and looked up at him with extreme confusion as he guided you to sit down on the bed.
“A veterinarian?”
Adrian nodded, then picked up your water glass and handed it to you.
“Harcourt worked out a deal with the staff over at the Paws A Moment Clinic. They take care of us for cash and it’s cheaper than going to Waller’s designated people. Better care, too, I think. The clinic gets their stitches straight and they heal better that way.”
It took a few seconds for you to understand him. The brain fog wasn’t much better than it was yesterday, so this new information tok a bit to process. No one on the team had been seriously injured on mission since you came on. At least, not anything John couldn’t take care of. But it would make sense to have someone more skilled on retainer in cases of more serious injury.
You eventually got it thought over and nodded.
“Makes sense, I guess.”
Adrian watched as you finished your water, then took the glass from you and refilled it.
“Sorry for not having the window open,” you said as he came back. “It honestly just slipped my mind today.”
“It’s okay, I’m just glad you’re not mad at me,“ he said, sitting the glass back down on your nightstand. “You didn’t say much today when I messaged you, so I was worried I had upset you somehow.”
You chuckled and shook your head. “Nope, not upset, just sick because I was just a dumbass yesterday.”
“Nah, don’t say that,” Adrian said, playfully swatting your arm. “Shit happens. Hell, I’ve gotten over heated in my suit before. It’s easily done sometimes.”
You laughed. “You say that, but I actually did have heat stroke about ten years ago, so you’d think I’d know better by now.”
Adrian started to open his mouth to say something, then closed it. He thought about what you said for a moment, then shrugged.
“Accidents happen,” he reiterated. “That doesn’t make you a dumbass though. I mean, it’s not like you do this every year.”
A slightly sheepish smile slowly spread across your face then.
Adrian stared at you.
“…you don’t do this every year, right?”
“Weeeeelllllll…”
Adrian groaned and you couldn’t help but laugh.
“It’s usually not this bad, I promise,” you said through your laughter. “Usually, I just get a bit dehydrated or get a bad sunburn. Once a year is usually enough for me not to do it again.”
By this point, your laughter had infected Adrian and now he was chuckling.
“All right,” he finally said, his tone of voice scolding. “But if it happens again, you’re getting a spanking, young lady.”
That sent a little surge of heat between your legs, but you elected to ignore it. You were in no state to be having sex right now. Even with as much as you wanted to jump Adrian, that was an extremely bad idea with how you were feeling.
And Adrian knew that, too.
“Do you need me to get you anything before I head home?” he asked. “I can run to the corner store for you if you want.”
You thought about it and started to shake your head, but then stopped.
“Actually…do you mind staying?” you asked. “At least until I take a shower? I’ve only been jumping in to cool off, I haven’t been comfortable staying in there since I’ve been home alone.”
Adrian’s face shifted emotions several times while you were talking. It almost looked like he went from excited to disappointed to confused, but none of that made any sense except for the confusion. You had no idea why he’d look excited about you asking him to stay, and why he would then immediately look disappointed baffled you. It seemed like you were reading into things that weren’t there thanks to the brain fog, so you disregarded it.
“Why weren’t you comfortable in the shower?” he finally asked.
“In case my legs give out or I get dizzy,” you said. “My sister got lightheaded and passed out in the shower once. She hit her head really bad and even broke her nose. Luckily, her husband was home, but the idea has scared me ever since.”
Adrian easily saw your point. He also volunteered to come in and help. He most definitely got a disappointed look on his face when you turned him down. While you knew it would just be a shower and all Adrian would do is help you, you also knew being that close to each other naked would drive the both of you crazy. There was no need to add to the sparks already flying between you two. Hell, you could tell he was already half hard through his tight suit just from seeing you in the tank top and underwear you were currently wearing.
While you took your time in the shower, you also didn’t do anything that would take very long. You washed your body and face, then turned the water cool and just stood under it for a while. It felt great on both the sunburn and your sore muscles. You ended up being in there longer than you planned though, because eventually Adrian called to you from the bathroom door.
“Hey, you all right in there?” he asked, talking loud enough to be heard over the shower. “I haven’t heard you moving around or anything for a while.”
“Oh, yeah, sorry,” you said. “I’ll be out in a minute. I was just cooling off again.”
You had been leaning against the wall with one shoulder, letting the water hit you on the back of your neck. From there, it was gently running down the rest of your body, which felt absolutely fantastic on your sensitive skin. You had completely zoned out from it.
Once you were out of the bathroom, you discovered that Adrian hadn’t been idle while he was alone. He’d made and turned back your bed, refilled your water again and had warmed up some chicken broth in a mug, which was waiting on your nightstand along with some crackers.
While you hadn’t been able to attempt solid food thanks to the nausea, you hadn’t thought of chicken broth. You managed to sip half the cup and eat a few of the crackers.
Afterwards, Adrian got everything cleaned up and got you situated back in bed.
“I’ll stop by before work tomorrow if you’re still not feeling good,” he said, then started to head for the window to leave.
“Wait,” you said, sitting back up.
He turned back to look at you and you knew without a doubt that you saw a hopeful look in his eyes right then.
“Would you stay tonight?”
The question made you nervous. You hadn’t really planned to ask; it just came out.
Adrian had never stayed over before. He would usually just come over in the middle of patrol, like tonight, and he didn’t stay any longer than needed. You two would have sex, he would leave to resume his patrol, you’d go back to bed. You two wouldn’t see each other again unless it was at HQ or the next scheduled visit, whichever came first. It was a simple arrangement between two horny adults that didn’t want any emotional attachments.
At least, that’s what it was at first. Somewhere along the way, it had changed for you. While you certainly wouldn’t mind taking the next step towards a more solid relationship with him, you had no idea if he felt the same. You had been too worried to talk to him, thinking Adrian would end what you had if he knew you had caught feelings. This was the closest you had ever come to admitting it.
Instead of being put off though, Adrian seemed happy by your question.
“I’d really like that,” he said, sounding excited, then went to the window to shut and lock it.
You settled back down into bed as Adrian started removing all of his weapons, placing them all carefully on your dresser. It took a few minutes to do that, then a few more to take off all the plates of armor, but eventually he had stripped down to his boxers. He climbed into bed behind you, sliding under the covers. After slipping his arms around you and letting you take the lead on how closely you wanted to be held, soon the two of you were in a loose spooning position.
“Is this okay?” Adrian said softly, close to your ear.
You nodded, feeling relaxed and sleepy. The soft press of his body was a soothing presence to you. Adrian had been careful, so he wasn’t pressing too hard against the sunburn, even making sure his arms weren’t irritating it as he held you. It was a sweet, comforting gesture and a lot of thought had been put into it.
Before you could drift off to sleep, you suddenly found a bit of courage.
“Did you want to start staying over now?” you asked.
There was a brief moment of silence before Adrian answered.
“I’ve always wanted to stay over,” he said softly. “I didn’t think you wanted me to, so I always just left when we were done.”
“I wanted you to,” you said, your hand finding his where it rested on your stomach and intertwined your fingers with his. “I figured you would’ve stayed if you wanted to.”
Adrian’s arms tightened around you briefly and you felt his lips brush your jawline in a kiss.
“I want to stay with you,” he whispered.
Nothing more needed to be said after that. That conversation answered questions the both of you had but had been too afraid to ask. You two would still need to talk about what exactly this meant, but that could happen tomorrow.
Tonight, you both just laid in each other’s arms, enjoying this new level of closeness.

i hope you're feeling better today joyce :( i have a lifelong history of multi-day headaches and i've been getting recent dizziness and nausea spells too and it suuucks. i know it's not the same as lightheadedness but i don't wish anything in that overall category upon anyone.
I'm feeling better and oh no dizziness and nausea sucks I hope it gets better for you. Have you found out the cause of it all. Yesterday I just ate a handful of cheese and meat cubes for breakfast and spent three hours moving my furniture around by myself. Once I sat down it was 4pm and I slowly started to feel very lightheaded and my vision was getting blurry and when I was walking my legs were so wobbly it felt similar to when I was passing out every other night a few months ago. It was so scary cause I'd wake up so confused and with in iv in me. And it was cause I was not eating enough. I do have issues with eating I try to force myself to eat more but eating is hard. Sometimes I don't have the energy to eat. I know ice tea and a hand full of cheese cubes isn't enough. But I'm trying to eat more. I think it was triggered when I went to the hospital and the doctors kept telling me I needed to lose weight and eat less when I was already going three days at a time without eating. My brain was like well I guess we're not allowed to eat anymore. But my primary doctor told me to eat more cause I eat like 600\800 calories a day and she said that was not enough and why I was passing out so much. But Im trying to eat more even if I don't have the energy. It's just hard. I had to stop being vegetarian because barely eating plus a low calorie life style left me even more weak. But I'll be okay. And I hope your dizzy and nausea spells go away soon.

Jason’s resurrection in the Lazarus Pit while Joker Venom was present in his system
Jason being resurrected in the Lazarus pit while having a fatal dose of Joker venom in his system caused the venom to fuse with the stem cells in Jason’s bone marrow instead of neutralizing it, altering them so that his body generates the toxin within his blood. Jason’s cellular envenomation has given him immunity to the fatal component of the venom but does not protect him from experiencing other undesirable side effects - Listed under the cut.
Uncontrollable laughing fits triggered by stress/heightened emotions
Psychosis
Hallucinations
Mania
Depression
Mood Swings
Memory Loss
Dizzy spells/lightheadedness
Nausea and vomiting
Headaches
Transient Parasthesia and Neuropathy (Tingling sensations, numbness, pain, muscle weakness)
Muscle spasms
Weakened Immune System
Shivering/Chills/Fever – with or without febrile convulsions
Fatigue
Treating Jason’s Cellular Envenomation
Due to Jason’s cellular envenomation and the level of psychological conditioning he has suffered, it would be extremely difficult to break him free from his dependency on the Joker.
However, theoretically, it is not impossible.
While getting Jason physically away from the Joker presents its own difficulties, that is the simpler task compared to treating his envenomation.
The constant presence of Joker venom in Jason’s bloodstream makes his mental state highly unstable, causing distressing psychotic episodes, and the Joker conditioned him to be paranoid and suspicious of anyone claiming to want to help him.
Jason will lash out violently toward anyone attempting to apprehend him by force, whether law enforcement or medical personnel, so Jason needs to be heavily sedated to keep him from fighting medical treatment.
However, this poses its own challenge, as the treatment required to lower the concentration of Joker venom in his blood makes keeping him sufficiently and safely sedated difficult due to the need to put Jason on a dialysis machine while also administering blood transfusions laced with the antivenom.
Treating his envenomation this way is far from a cure, as Jason will need regular treatment for the rest of his life to manage his condition and keep his venom toxicity low to prevent a relapse.
In addition to treating the physical aspects of Jason’s envenomation, the damage to his overall mental health is significant. It will also require long-term treatment, beginning with admission to an inpatient facility before progressing to outpatient therapy, and a solid support network is necessary to provide care for Jason as he recovers.

Understanding Anemia in Children: Signs, Symptoms, and Pediatric Care
CBC test price in pune
Anemia, a condition marked by a deficiency of red blood cells or hemoglobin in the blood, is not limited to adults; it can affect children too. While it’s often regarded as a common health issue in adults, anemia in children can have significant implications for their growth, development, and overall well-being.
Recognizing the signs and symptoms of anemia in children and seeking appropriate pediatric care is crucial for their health and vitality. CBC test price in pune
What Causes Anemia in Children?
Anemia in children can stem from various factors, but the most common cause is a lack of iron in the body. Iron is essential for producing hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to tissues throughout the body.
When there’s a deficiency of iron, the body struggles to produce an adequate amount of healthy red blood cells, leading to anemia. CBC test price in pune
Other potential causes of anemia in children include:
Nutritional Deficiencies: Apart from iron deficiency, inadequate intake of other nutrients such as vitamin B12 and folate can also lead to anemia.
Chronic Diseases: Certain chronic conditions like inflammatory bowel disease, chronic kidney disease, or autoimmune disorders can interfere with the body’s ability to produce red blood cells, leading to anemia. CBC test price in pune
Blood Loss: Excessive blood loss due to trauma, surgery, or gastrointestinal bleeding can cause anemia in children.
Genetic Factors: Inherited conditions such as sickle cell anemia or thalassemia can affect the production and function of red blood cells, resulting in anemia. CBC test price in pune
Signs and Symptoms of Anemia in Children
Recognizing the signs and symptoms of anemia in children is essential for early detection and prompt intervention. While the symptoms can vary depending on the severity of the condition, common signs of anemia in children include:
Fatigue and Weakness: Children with anemia may appear unusually tired or lethargic, even after getting adequate rest. CBC test price in Pune
Pale Skin: Anemia can cause paleness, particularly noticeable in the face, lips, and inner lining of the eyelids.
Shortness of Breath: Due to reduced oxygen-carrying capacity in the blood, children with anemia may experience shortness of breath, especially during physical activity. CBC test price in Pune
Irritability: Anemia can affect mood and behavior, leading to increased irritability or crankiness in affected children.
Poor Appetite: Some children with anemia may have a decreased appetite or exhibit signs of selective eating. CBC test price in pune
Dizziness or Fainting: In severe cases of anemia, children may experience dizziness, lightheadedness, or even fainting spells.
Delayed Growth and Development: Chronic or severe anemia can hinder a child’s growth and development, affecting both physical and cognitive milestones. CBC test price in pune
Pediatric Care for Anemia
When it comes to pediatric care for anemia, early detection and intervention are key. If you suspect that your child may be experiencing symptoms of anemia, it’s essential to consult a pediatrician promptly.
The diagnostic process typically involves a thorough medical history review, physical examination, and blood tests to assess hemoglobin levels and determine the underlying cause of anemia. CBC test price in pune
Treatment for anemia in children depends on its underlying cause and severity. In cases of iron deficiency anemia, the primary treatment involves iron supplementation and dietary modifications to increase iron intake.
Pediatricians may prescribe iron supplements in the form of drops or chewable tablets and recommend iron-rich foods such as lean meats, fortified cereals, beans, and leafy green vegetables. CBC test price in pune
For anemia caused by other underlying conditions, such as chronic diseases or genetic disorders, treatment may involve addressing the underlying cause alongside supportive measures to manage anemia symptoms.
This could include medications, blood transfusions, or other targeted therapies tailored to the child’s specific needs. CBC test price in pune
In addition to medical treatment, it’s essential to focus on preventive measures and lifestyle modifications to support optimal health and well-being in children.
This includes:
Nutritious Diet: Ensuring that children receive a balanced diet rich in iron, vitamin B12, folate, and other essential nutrients is crucial for preventing anemia and supporting overall health.
Regular Screening: Pediatricians may recommend routine screening for anemia during well-child visits, especially for high-risk groups or children with underlying health conditions. CBC test price in pune
Supervised Physical Activity: Encouraging children to engage in regular physical activity can help improve circulation and overall cardiovascular health, which is essential for managing anemia symptoms.
Hydration: Adequate hydration is important for maintaining blood volume and circulation. Inspire children to drink sufficient water throughout the day. CBC test price in pune
Education and Support: Educating parents and caregivers about the signs, symptoms, and management of anemia in children is essential for promoting early detection and optimal outcomes. Providing support and resources can help families navigate the challenges associated with managing childhood anemia effectively. CBC test price in pune
Conclusion
Anemia in children is a common yet treatable condition that can have significant implications for their health and well-being.
By recognizing the signs and symptoms of anemia, seeking prompt pediatric care, and implementing preventive measures and lifestyle modifications, parents and caregivers can help ensure optimal outcomes for children affected by this condition. Pathology labs in wakad

Diabetes and Dehydration: Warning Signs and Prevention Tips
Dehydration is a common concern for everyone, but for individuals with diabetes, it can pose serious health risks. Maintaining proper hydration is crucial for managing blood sugar levels and overall health. This comprehensive guide explores the warning signs of dehydration, its impact on diabetes, and practical tips for prevention.
Understanding Dehydration and Its Impact on Diabetes
Dehydration occurs when your body loses more fluids than it takes in, leading to an insufficient amount of water to carry out normal functions. For people with diabetes, dehydration can be particularly dangerous because it can elevate blood glucose levels, complicate diabetes management, and increase the risk of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) in those with type 1 diabetes.
Blood Sugar Levels: When dehydrated, the concentration of glucose in the bloodstream increases. This can lead to higher blood sugar levels and potentially hyperglycemia, making it more challenging to manage diabetes effectively.
Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA): DKA is a serious condition that occurs when the body starts breaking down fats at an accelerated rate, leading to a build-up of ketones in the blood. Dehydration can accelerate this process, particularly in individuals with type 1 diabetes, and can become life-threatening if not treated promptly.
Kidney Function: Proper hydration is essential for kidney function. Dehydration can strain the kidneys, which are already at risk of complications from diabetes, increasing the likelihood of kidney damage or failure.
Warning Signs of Dehydration
Recognizing the early signs of dehydration is key to preventing severe complications. Common symptoms include:
Increased Thirst: One of the earliest and most obvious signs of dehydration is a persistent feeling of thirst. For diabetics, this can also indicate high blood sugar levels.
Dry Mouth and Skin: A dry mouth, chapped lips, and dry skin are common indicators of dehydration.
Dark Urine: Dark yellow or amber-colored urine typically suggests that you need to drink more fluids.
Fatigue and Weakness: Dehydration can lead to a general sense of tiredness, weakness, and reduced energy levels.
Dizziness or Lightheadedness: Feeling dizzy or lightheaded, especially when standing up quickly, can be a sign of dehydration.
Decreased Urine Output: Urinating less frequently or in smaller amounts can indicate dehydration.
Headaches: Dehydration often leads to headaches or migraines due to reduced fluid levels affecting brain function.
Muscle Cramps: Lack of fluids can cause muscle cramps, particularly during exercise or physical activity.
Prevention Tips for Dehydration
To avoid dehydration, especially during hot weather or periods of increased physical activity, consider the following tips:
Drink Plenty of Water: Aim to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day. Carry a water bottle with you and take small sips throughout the day to maintain steady hydration.
Monitor Fluid Intake: Keep track of your fluid intake to ensure you’re drinking enough. Apps and hydration trackers can help you stay on top of your water consumption.
Eat Hydrating Foods: Incorporate fruits and vegetables with high water content into your diet. Cucumbers, watermelon, strawberries, and oranges are excellent choices.
Avoid Diuretics: Limit beverages that can dehydrate you, such as alcohol, caffeine, and sugary drinks. These can increase urine output and exacerbate dehydration.
Stay Cool: In hot weather, seek shade, wear lightweight clothing, and use fans or air conditioning to keep cool. Avoid direct sunlight and peak heat hours.
Adjust Exercise Routines: Exercise during cooler parts of the day, such as early morning or late evening. Drink water before, during, and after physical activity to replenish lost fluids.
Use Hydration Aids: Sports drinks containing electrolytes can help replenish fluids lost through sweat, but choose low-sugar options to avoid blood sugar spikes.
Recognize Personal Risk Factors: Be aware of your personal risk factors for dehydration, such as age, medication, and overall health status. Older adults and those on certain medications may need to take extra precautions.
Managing Dehydration for Diabetics
If you suspect you’re becoming dehydrated, it’s important to take immediate action:
Rehydrate Gradually: Start by drinking small amounts of water frequently. Avoid drinking large quantities of water at once, which can overwhelm your body.
Electrolyte Solutions: Consider drinking an oral rehydration solution or electrolyte-enhanced water to quickly restore fluid balance.
Monitor Blood Sugar Levels: Check your blood sugar levels more frequently if you suspect dehydration. High blood sugar can be both a cause and a consequence of dehydration, so it’s crucial to keep it under control.
Adjust Insulin Dosage: Consult your healthcare provider about adjusting your insulin dosage if necessary. Dehydration can affect how your body absorbs insulin.
Seek Medical Attention: If you experience severe symptoms of dehydration, such as confusion, rapid heartbeat, fainting, or signs of DKA (like fruity-smelling breath, shortness of breath, or nausea), seek medical attention immediately.
Long-Term Strategies for Hydration
Adopting long-term strategies can help maintain proper hydration and prevent dehydration-related complications:
Develop a Hydration Routine: Make drinking water a regular part of your daily routine. Set reminders or create habits, such as drinking a glass of water with every meal.
Educate Yourself: Learn about the signs of dehydration and how it affects diabetes management. Educating yourself empowers you to take proactive steps to prevent it.
Regular Health Check-Ups: Regular visits to your healthcare provider can help monitor your overall health and address any issues related to hydration and diabetes management.
Community Support: Join diabetes support groups or online communities to share tips and experiences related to managing hydration and diabetes.
Conclusion
Dehydration poses significant risks for individuals with diabetes, but with awareness and proactive management, these risks can be mitigated. By recognizing the warning signs of dehydration and adopting effective prevention strategies, you can maintain better control over your blood sugar levels and overall health. Remember, staying hydrated is not just about drinking water; it’s about creating a balanced approach to fluid intake and managing diabetes effectively. Always consult your healthcare provider for personalized advice tailored to your specific needs.

15 Signs You Are Iron Deficient: Understanding The Symptoms!
Iron, a vital mineral essential for numerous bodily functions, is often overlooked until its absence manifests in various ways. This unassuming element is critical for the production of hemoglobin, the protein responsible for transporting oxygen in the blood, ensuring every cell receives the necessary fuel for proper function. When iron levels dip below the recommended range, a condition known as iron deficiency anemia can arise, causing a cascade of symptoms that significantly impact quality of life.
Recognizing the signs and symptoms of iron deficiency is crucial for timely intervention and prevention of potential long-term consequences. While some symptoms may seem innocuous or easily dismissed, they collectively indicate an underlying iron deficiency that requires attention. From fatigue and weakness to cognitive impairment and immune system dysfunction, the impact of iron deficiency can be profound and far-reaching, affecting an individual's overall well-being.
In this comprehensive article, we will explore 15 distinct signs that may indicate iron deficiency. By shedding light on these telltale symptoms, we aim to empower readers with the knowledge to identify potential iron deficiencies and seek appropriate medical guidance.
15 Signs You Might Be Iron Deficient
Iron is a vital mineral that plays a crucial role in many bodily functions, including the production of hemoglobin, which carries oxygen in the blood. When your body lacks iron, it can lead to a condition known as iron deficiency anemia. This condition can cause a range of symptoms that significantly impact your health and well-being. Let's explore 15 common signs that may indicate you are iron deficient:
Persistent Fatigue and Weakness
Iron deficiency leads to fewer red blood cells, reducing oxygen delivery to tissues and organs, resulting in persistent fatigue and weakness.

Understanding Low Blood Pressure: Causes, Symptoms, and Management
Tumblr media
In the expansive domain of cardiovascular health, the intricacies of low blood pressure often find themselves overshadowed by the more commonly discussed high blood pressure. Yet, it's imperative to shed light on this often-overlooked facet of heart health. Join us as we explore the depths of low blood pressure, guided by insights from Dr. Md. Farhan Shikoh, an esteemed cardiologist renowned as the Best Blood Pressure Doctor in Ranchi, operating from Sukoon Heart Care in the heart of Ranchi, Jharkhand.
What is Low Blood Pressure?
Low blood pressure occurs when your blood pressure drops below the normal range, typically defined as a systolic pressure (the top number) below 90 mm Hg and a diastolic pressure (the bottom number) below 60 mm Hg. While low blood pressure isn't always a cause for concern, it can sometimes indicate an underlying health issue.
Causes of Low Blood Pressure
Dr. Farhan explains that low blood pressure can stem from various factors, including:
Dehydration: Insufficient fluid intake can lead to low blood volume, causing a drop in blood pressure.
Medications: Certain medications, such as those for high blood pressure, heart conditions, or depression, can lower blood pressure as a side effect.
Heart Problems: Conditions like heart valve problems, heart attack, or heart failure can disrupt the heart's ability to pump blood effectively, resulting in low blood pressure.
Endocrine Disorders: Disorders such as thyroid dysfunction, adrenal insufficiency, or diabetes can contribute to low blood pressure.
Nutritional Deficiencies: A lack of essential nutrients, particularly vitamin B12 and folate, can lead to anemia, which in turn may cause low blood pressure.
Symptoms of Low Blood Pressure
Recognizing the symptoms of low blood pressure is crucial for timely intervention. Dr. Farhan highlights common symptoms, including:
Dizziness or Lightheadedness: Feeling faint or dizzy, especially when standing up quickly, is a hallmark symptom of low blood pressure.
Fatigue: Low blood pressure can lead to feelings of weakness or fatigue, impacting daily activities.
Blurred Vision: Vision disturbances may occur due to inadequate blood flow to the eyes.
Nausea: Some individuals with low blood pressure may experience nausea or even fainting spells.
Cold, Clammy Skin: Skin that feels cold and clammy, particularly in conjunction with other symptoms, may indicate low blood pressure.
Managing Low Blood Pressure
While mild cases of low blood pressure may not require treatment, Dr. Farhan advises the following strategies for managing symptoms:
Stay Hydrated: Adequate fluid intake is essential for maintaining blood volume. Aim to drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Gradual Changes in Position: To prevent dizziness, stand up slowly from sitting or lying down positions.
Balanced Diet: Consuming a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals can help prevent nutritional deficiencies that contribute to low blood pressure.
Medication Adjustment: If medications are causing low blood pressure, consulting with a healthcare provider about adjusting dosage or switching medications may be necessary.
Compression Stockings: These garments can help prevent blood from pooling in the legs, thereby improving circulation and reducing symptoms.
When to Seek Medical Attention
Dr. Farhan emphasizes the importance of seeking medical attention if you experience severe or persistent symptoms of low blood pressure. Additionally, individuals with underlying health conditions should regularly monitor their blood pressure and consult with a healthcare provider as needed.
In conclusion, while low blood pressure is often overshadowed by its counterpart, high blood pressure, it's essential to recognize its significance in maintaining overall health. By understanding the causes, symptoms, and management strategies outlined above, individuals can take proactive steps towards optimizing their cardiovascular well-being.

Signs of Dehydration: Recognizing the Warning Signals
Dehydration is a common condition that occurs when your body loses more fluids than it takes in. It can happen for various reasons, including excessive sweating, diarrhea, vomiting, or simply not drinking enough water. Recognizing the signs of dehydration is crucial to prevent further complications and maintain overall health.
Understanding Dehydration
Dehydration occurs when the body lacks the necessary fluids to function properly. Water is essential for various bodily functions, including regulating temperature, transporting nutrients, and eliminating waste. When the body doesn't have enough water, it can lead to dehydration, which can range from mild to severe.
Signs of Dehydration
Thirst: One of the most obvious signs of dehydration is feeling thirsty. Thirst is your body's way of signaling that it needs more fluids to maintain proper hydration levels.
Dark Urine: Monitoring the color of your urine can provide valuable insights into your hydration status. Dark yellow or amber-colored urine is a common indicator of dehydration. In contrast, light-colored urine suggests adequate hydration.
Dry Mouth and Lips: Dry mouth and lips are common symptoms of dehydration. When the body lacks sufficient fluids, saliva production decreases, leading to dryness in the mouth and lips.
Fatigue and Weakness: Dehydration can cause feelings of fatigue and weakness as the body struggles to function without adequate hydration. Even mild dehydration can affect energy levels and cognitive function.
Headaches: Dehydration can trigger headaches or exacerbate existing ones. Without enough fluids, the brain may temporarily shrink, pulling away from the skull and causing pain.
Dizziness and Lightheadedness: Dehydration can also lead to dizziness and lightheadedness, especially when standing up quickly. This occurs because dehydration causes a drop in blood pressure, reducing blood flow to the brain.
Dry Skin: Dehydrated skin may feel dry, tight, or less elastic than usual. In severe cases, dehydration can lead to cracked or flaky skin.
Decreased Urination: Reduced urination frequency or volume is another sign of dehydration. When the body lacks fluids, it conserves water by producing less urine, leading to decreased urinary output.
Recognizing the signs of dehydration is essential for maintaining optimal health and preventing complications. If you experience any of the symptoms mentioned above, it's crucial to rehydrate promptly by drinking water or electrolyte-rich fluids. Additionally, seeking medical attention may be necessary for severe dehydration or persistent symptoms. Anemia of Chronic Renal Disease - Dr. L H Hiranandani Hospital Kidney
Tumblr media
In this article, Dr Sujit Chatterjee, CEO, Hiranandani Hospital shares their insights this way,” Anemia occurs when your body has a limited amount of red blood cells in your body. What role do you think red blood cells play in your body? They are responsible for carrying oxygen from your lungs to different zones of your body, energizing you for daily activities, for the rest of the day. It is frequently associated with poor outcome, treatment is done before improving the poor renal function while increasing the production of red blood cells in the body. This highlights the overall role of the interpersonal team in care of individuals affected by this condition. With fewer or small quantities of red blood cells, your tissue and organs like heart and lungs don’t get enough oxygen supply to function properly.
Anemia in other words is the knotty term to chronic renal disease, CKD means kidneys are not functioning properly and are not filtering blood the way they should. This damage can allow waste and other unnecessary fluid to build up in the body. In addition to all this, CKD can also cause other health problems. Anemia is less common at the early stage but when CKD progresses, there builds up a strong possibility of development of anemia.
For kidney damage, one can visit Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital Kidney Department. For patients who look for some functional results, it’s important that the kidney performs its job well when it comes to filtering the overall decay out. Chronic renal failure is where the kidney gets damaged leading to irreversible failure making a patient survive on dialysis. Kidney Transplant programs are best suited for those who already have a kidney disease or have any prior family history, or relatable reason which are described by the healthcare professionals.
In CKD, extreme anemia can increase chances of developing heart problems. The heart is getting less oxygen than normal, and is working harder to pump red blood cells into different organs of the body. People with CKD may be at higher risk for complications due to strokes.
Symptoms One Must Look For With CKD
Its symptoms may include,
> Feeling tired, or
> Feeling short of breath
> Uniquely, hazy skin
> Weakness,
> Body Pain
> Chest Pain
> Lightheadedness
> Lowness
> Fast and Abnormal Heart Beat
> Sore Head
> Sleep Issues
> Difficulty Concentrating,
Not everyone shows relevant symptoms before having anemia, If your hemoglobin level is too low, it is because you have anemia. When feeling suspicious about the same, you can visit experienced healthcare professionals of kidney departments from Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital Kidney care unit for specialized kidney check up. Once the disease gets diagnosed, further treatment is initiated.
What Breeds Anemia In CKD
People with anemia are observed to have a lower level of nutrients, iron, vitamin B-12, folate etc which are needed to make red blood cells in the body. Red Blood Cells in people with anemia and CKD tend to live in the bloodstream for a shorter time than normal, eventually causing them to die before they can be fully restored. Other factors which causes anemia are as follows:
> Blood Loss if you’re treated with dialysis for kidney failure,
> Infection
> Inflammation
> Malnutrition, a state where the body doesn’t get proper nutrition's.
Mechanism Kidney Department of Hiranandani Hospital, Uses To Examine Anemia
Here, medical test, blood test, physical exam, and your previous medical history is used to diagnose anemia in CKD.
Medical History:
Professionals at Hiranandani Hospital will check your medical history to ask about,
> Your Symptoms
> Present And Past Medical Condition
> Prescription and Over time medicines required
> Your Family History
Physical Exam:
> Check your blood pressure,
> Check your Heart Rate
> Examine Your Body, which includes, checking in change of colors, rashes and bruising.
Blood Test:
Healthcare professionals of Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital Kidney Transplant department, use blood tests to check signs of anemia and CKD in a patient’s body by sending samples to the lab for the test. Blood Count Test checks many parts and feature of the blood, which checks the following,
> Number of Red Blood Cells
> Average Size of Red Blood Cells
> Amount of Hemoglobin in your blood and in your red blood cells
> Number of developing red blood cells in your blood
In order to stop anemia from getting worse, it is recommended to reach out to highly professionalized healthcare professionals. You may need to change what you eat to treat your anemia on time. Work with healthcare professionals to design meal plans which are suitable for your healthcare routines, eating while managing your eating and healthcare routine. Some of these foods have high amounts of protein, sodium and phosphorus which people with CKD may need to limit. Here, get yourself in touch with healthcare professionals of Hiranandani Hospital, when you feel confused or want to get yourself diagnosed.

How Drinking Alcohol Could Affect Your Heart’s Rhythm - Aditi Jagtap Pune
Tumblr media
Understanding the courses of alcohol and heart Rhythm :
Alcohol, a commonly consumed beverage, has both short-term and long-term impacts on the human body. While the social elements of alcohol are usually celebrated, it’s critical to understand its possible impact on the heart’s rhythm and overall cardiovascular fitness.
Alcohol and heart rhythm:
When it moves toward the heart, preserving a regular rhythm is important for its proper functioning. Alcohol can influence this rhythm. The heart’s electrical procedure, responsible for confirming the heartbeat, can be disrupted by extreme alcohol consumption. This disturbance can manifest in different ways:
Arrhythmias:
Alcohol can activate irregular heartbeats, medically known as arrhythmias. These irregular rhythms might have included atrial fibrillation, where the upper chambers of the heart beat irregularly, leading to vibrations and an increased risk of stroke.
Heart Rate Variability:
Extreme drinking can also impact heart rate variability, the deviation in the time gap between heartbeats. This disturbance can contribute to a boosted risk of cardiovascular events.
Cardiomyopathy:
Prolonged heavy drinking may result in alcoholic cardiomyopathy, a situation where the heart strength weakens, leading to enlargement and reduced pumping efficiency. This situation can further compromise heart rhythm strength.
According to Dr Ranjit Jagtap, there are some major points:
Mechanism of Impact:
Alcohol affects the heart’s rhythm through multiple mechanisms. It can break in with the ion channels accountable for disseminating electrical indications in the heart, directing abnormal rhythms. Additionally, it can relieve stress hormones, impacting the heart’s electrical system and potentially ultimate to arrhythmias.
Moderation and Health Implications:
While moderate alcohol consumption might not pose immediate dangers to heart rhythm, excessive or binge drinking can especially increase these chances. The description of moderate drinking varies, but commonly, it directs up to one drink per day for women and up to two drinks per day for men says Dr. Ranjit Jagtap daughter.
Signs of alcohol-related heart rate rhythm issues :
Palpitations: Feeling unstable, rapid, or fluttering heartbeats.
Dizziness or Lightheadedness: Spectacle of feeling faintly or woozy.
Shortness of Breath: Problem in breathing, particularly during physical action.
Fatigue: Unusual sleepiness or weakness even without effort.
Chest Discomfort: Pain, anxiety, or distress in the chest area.
Preventive measure:
Moderate Alcohol Consumption: Adhering to negotiated drinking boundaries can especially decrease the risk of alcohol-related heart rhythm disruptions. Restraint is generally defined as up to one drink per day for women and up to two drinks per day for men.
Healthy Lifestyle Choices: Engaging in traditional physical workouts, maintaining a balanced diet, and controlling stress levels can contribute to all-around heart health and potentially mitigate the effect of alcohol on heart rhythm.
Regular Health Check-ups: Regular visits to professional healthcare providers for check-ups and consultations can help in identifying signs of heart rhythm disruptions or other alcohol-related health problems. This permits timely intervention and administration.
Know Personal Limits: Understanding one’s patience with alcohol and being conscious of any family past heart disorders can aid in creating knowledgeable decisions considering alcohol consumption.
Someone undergoing symptoms or those worried about their heart fitness due to alcohol consumption should seek experienced medical advice. Talking with a healthcare provider permits personalised examination and recommendations tailored to individuals’ health conditions.
Aditi Jagtap Pune also gives some advice to notice:
Individual Variations:
It’s important to point out that someone may respond differently to alcohol. Some people may experience heart rhythm disruptions after consuming even small portions of alcohol, while others may not show any substantial changes. Aspects such as genetic predisposition, overall fitness, and someone’s patience levels can impact these variations.
Seeking Medical Advice:
For someone with existing heart situations or a past of arrhythmias, it’s important to consult healthcare specialists considering alcohol consumption. They can deliver personalised guidance based on someone’s health susceptibility ks associated with alcohol infusion.
Alcohol’s Mechanism of Action:
Alcohol impedes autonomic uneasy systems, involving the heart’s electrical impulses and altering the symmetry of neurotransmitters. This interference can disrupt the coordination of heartbeats, directing to irregular rhythms and, in brutal cases, weakening the heart’s strength.
Alcohol Quantity and Frequency:
The impact of alcohol on heart rhythm can be on both the amount and frequency of consumption. Binge drinking or chronic heavy alcohol usage carries a higher risk of disrupting the heart’s rhythm. Long-term heavy drinking can also direct structural differences in the heart, contributing to rhythm disorders.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, Dr Ranjit Jagtap is a well-known professional specialist and a heart specialist and they know better and also Understanding the impact of alcohol on heart rhythm is important for conserving a healthy cardiovascular strategy. While moderate alcohol consumption might not especially impact heart rhythm, excessive drinking can pose severe dangers. Consulting Aditi Jagtap Pune’s healthcare professionals and being aware of alcohol intake can help maintain heart health and rhythm.
