#fire down below #fire down below (1957) #2024filmgifs #my gifs #what a strange little film #but exactly as homoerotic as I expected #cos what else would you get with a Classic Hollywood love triangle #it was wonderfully sarcastic dialogue #i enjoyed that so much #and the sight of Mitchum and Lemmon reacting to each other #not a pairing i ever would have thought of #and it totally works for this story of male friendship torn asunder by a wimmin #i was a little nervous about the ending #until i remembered The China Syndrome #and how that was a first for Jackie #so i relaxed and i wuz proven right cos Classic Hollywood #but a very strange plot nevertheless #and so strangely paced almost laconic and way too relaxed for its own good #but i did like that some of it was shot on location #clearly
