#putting this on the tags and deleting it in a bit bc I’m a coward and scared of what the actual widely accepted j/r timeline/storyline is #and this is coming from someone who is not well versed in jegulus so take it with a grain of salt #also it’s very much MY perception of them so yeah ignore it if u please #but luc and i were talking abt the James becomes a death eater for regulus and how we cannot see James ever becoming a death eater #and I kept thinking that james inability to be able to see any shade of grey (especially at age 15-16) is very much why a canonical jegulus #is destined to fall apart and to not make it past regulus’ choices #essentially a canon jegulus is both of them taking extremes and not being able to meet each other ever in the middle #mostly on James side because I think he finds it harder to see the world in scales of grey #and regulus wants NEEDS james to fold a bit for him but James can’t #so regulus decision to be a death eater is definetely the downfall but it is tied to James’ inability to understand (for now) a less black #and white world #ofc AU can switch up James completly and whichever way anyone writes him is valid and he can become a death eater but you’d have to change #A LOT about canon for that to work #still have fun with yallses characters do what u want they’re not real people #my perceptions and opinions might be very wrong but hey if u read this thanks for coming to my lecture
