This cross-quarter fire festival is celebrated on August 1st or the first full moon of Leo & the seventh sabbat of the year. It represents the first harvest when the Earth's bounty is given for the abundance received.
Some believe this is the time where the God has weakened & is losing his strength as seen in the waning of the day's light. The Goddess is pregnant with the young God who will be born on Yule.
In some traditions, this day honors the Celt god Lugh, the god of craftsmanship; He is skilled in many things including wheel making, blacksmithing & fighting. Though there is some discrepancy as to why Lugh is honored on this day. Some tales say it's because he held a harvest faire in honor of his adoptive mother, Tailtiu.

I did one of these for my sideblog BlackFemmeCharacterDependency (BFCD) and... While it’ll take longer on this end to do because there are more prominent figures here than on that one, I thought it would be good to also have one for my main...

Metryllis' Paladin Problems: Valentines by Volume
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
source : www . reddit . com/r/grandorder/comments/ey7s5b/metryllis_paladin_problems_valentines_by_volume/Commentary:
Just in time for the Month of Love. It’s something horrible!
I guess this is more of a Kiara’s Paladin Problems strip, but I’m on a roll with that “M” theme linking them all together.
Kiara's opening lines were inspired by lyrics from The Rocky Horror Picture Show track "Don't Dream It, Be It". Astolfo speaks for himself.
There’s a reason why only certain Servants (if any) are allowed to accompany you in Singularities/EoRs/Lostbelts. Some would resolve them too easily!
Yes, in addition to being a Prince and a Duke, Astolfo was a King of Lombardy as well!
Like the overview of Durandal’s ownership in a previous comic, Astolfo’s telling of his sordid saga is mostly without embellishments. It only omits that he only became friends with Giocondo (Jocundo, in some translations) when he heard that he was a man whose beauty rivaled his own. To see if the rumors were true, he invited him to his kingdom in Lombardy (Astolfo’s brother had recently died, leaving him to inherit it), but when Giocondo arrived, he was bedraggled and sallow. Astolfo’s would-be competition had recently chanced upon his wife in the arms of another man (a crucifix was involved). Later, through a crack in his guest room, Giocondo spied Astolfo’s queen having an affair with the aforementioned dwarf. And you know the rest. Oh, except the part where Astolfo and Giocondo gave Fiammetta and her third lover their blessing and a large dowry with which they could wed each other. Also, the little wrinkle that the entire tale might be completely fictitious. Even more so than usual, I mean.
Rodomonte, having had his fiancé choose Mandricardo over him, languishes in an inn and bemoans the supposed promiscuity of women, the innkeeper kindly tells him the story of Astolfo’s thousand THOT march to make him feel better. Ariosto, the writer, prefaces the story assuring the reader that it is nonsense and also very offensive and can be skipped. Not that this stopped me.
Of course, this allegedly improbably tale is told a few cantos before Astolfo goes to Hell, Heaven, Eden, and the Moon. Which actually happens. So the milli-mistress misadventure could have also been true.
It’s charming either way, I find. Astolfo is such a ridiculous character that people can just attribute all sorts of deranged deeds to his ledger and they’d suddenly become plausible by association.
After the story is told, some of the bar’s partrons agree with the sentiment that they must be wary of womanly wantonness. Others, surprisingly, side with the women and claim that men are just as likely to be unfaithful and they shouldn’t hold it against each other too brutally if infidelity should occur.
I must stress that whether you believe Astolfo’s story is about letting your freak flag fly or waving away loyalty lapses in non-open relationships, Ariosto has strong moral ideals on romance (even while putting Charlemagne’s own…wanderings…into consideration) to buoy all this crudeness. If not modern, then very far-reaching ones.
Bradamante and Ruggiero’s love, for how much trouble it gets them in and how Ariosto might have been playing to the vanity of his patrons (who believed themselves descended from the pair), is comprehensively portrayed as a very good and very beautiful thing in a tale rife with the mad and the macabre.
The hollowness of Ruggiero’s partially enchanted affair with Alcina regresses his reputable countenance into that of a placid imbecile who’s almost plantlike even before he’s turned into an actual tree.
Roland’s pursuit over a woman who does not love him, transforms him into a monster.
Doralice so swiftly switching affections for Mandricardo to his killer, Ruggiero is depicted negatively.
Paladin Rinaldo, a married man and Bradamante’s brother, temporarily redeems himself for his own pursuit of Angelica by leading the reinforcements he’d collected (a task he was penalized with by a disappointed Charlemagne) to save Paris, his king, and his fellow knights during a terrible siege. Then he greedily goes out to pursue Angelica again, this time under the pretense that he’s actually hunting down Gradasso and the stolen Durandal. He is repaid for his deception by a gorgon attack (yes, really) and his lack of effort in actually finding his purported targets leads to him missing the climactic 3-on-3 duel wherein Roland, Oliver, and Brandimart are grievously harmed by the blade he was supposed to retrieve.
But although Ariosto prizes Love and Loyalty, he’s as mentioned previously, very fond of Mercy. Princess Genevra of Scotland is accused of fornication and is to be sentenced to death. While she is eventually revealed to be innocent, that is a moot point for Rinaldo and her fiancé Ariodantes. Had she been guilty, the two of them would have still viewed her punishment as far too harsh and would have rushed to save her regardless. And they’d have succeeded in that scenario just the same.
Angelica, so frequently accosted and made captive, finds a man of sincere affection in the humble Medoro.
Proud Marfisa, finding the hamlet of the tyrant Marganor’s discarded and dishonored women, might have mocked them for allowing themselves to be victims, for not being as mighty, rich, and unstoppable as she. Instead, the glib cruelty of the Amazons and the vulnerable magnificence of Bradamante & Ruggiero’s bond have made her more worldly and considerate, and she stages a rebellion to not just punish Marganor but to reinstate his mistresses as full citizens of their home village worthy of sympathy, protection, and perhaps even true love rather than leave them ostracized for being made targets for wickedness they had little hope of defying on their own.
By the by, I hope you got a good laugh out of this comic. Cheers

How was it ripped away from it's mainland by it's fæ?
So before Cards was five kingdoms it was all one land that none of the Fae had control over. The fae were very involved in the world and were more rulers than gods looking from a distance and they made a lot of mistakes. They fought one another and sent their people to fight each other trying to take one anothers lands. Everyone spoke different languages and this time period was known as the Forgotten Kingdom. It was chaos.
It ultimately lead to the world being ‘destroyed’. No one was alive and the lands were decimated. It was at this point the fae decided they couldn’t live the way they had especially if they wanted anything to live so they began to divided up the world and lands.
Angelica claimed Diamonds and split her people from the rest of the world by making mountains filled with materials and minerals to create and build. Lian claimed the Clubs and surrounded her people with thick forests keeping out the others with them. Itzcoatl took the Spades and tore their land with the sea and separated them from the rest of Cards. Imara made deserts and oasises for their people to explore and live freely. Masou just let the others do their thing and created no boarders for his people as yeh others had already done it for him.
They marked their people making a truce forbidding each other from touching each other’s people and messing with their lands. They also stopped themselves from taking full control of their own people and let them grow on their own and guiding them here and there. Despite their boarders they couldn’t do much about their problem finding each other and ultimately fighting one another.
Itzcoatl is the one that split Spades away from the others. He took one look at his fellow and fae and went “fuck that. I don’t trust none of you so I’m leaving. Bye thots.”

What did you think of the first ep of the l word?
Phat spoilers coming so if you haven’t watched episode 1 of the L word: generation Q then proceed with caution
Okay so I guess I’ll just go through each character and give my feelings about them. I’ll start with my favorite new comers
Okay so I am so fascinated by Angelica and her story. I know she’s kind of an original character but I’ll still consider her a new comer because now we’re seeing her as a teenager coming into her own and not as a toddler. It’s so wild watching the original show and seeing how hard Bette and Tina had to work to have this child and for Bette to be recognized as her other parent. And now we get to see this moody teenager who yells at her Mama B and gets up to hooligan shit like if only Bette & Tina from 2004 could see this
My second favorite new comer, Sophie, didn’t have very many scenes but from just the short time she was on my screen, I fell in love with her. She’s very funny and she’s got these little quips that have me laughing like a maniac. When her girlfriend finally proposes to her and she lowkey ruins this romantic moment that she’s been waiting on forever I was dying. I can still hear her voice saying, “don’t play with me.” 😂😂
Sophie’s girlfriend, Dani, is my third favorite. She works as a communications director at her fathers business which I guess is some kind of big pharma type company. This episode really focused on her the most when it comes to all the new characters. She’s really having this internal struggle over what she does for a living and I can see that she wants to make her father proud but not if it means hurting other people. Her and Bette have a lot in common – love of pantsuits being one thing — and I’m excited to see how they interact with eachother in future episodes.
Next is Finley. I relate to her chaotic ass the most out of all of the new generation characters (minus the fact she doesn’t shave her armpits. That ain’t it for me sis). I put her here on this faux list thing simply because while I relate to her style, her personality, and genuine recklessness, we didn’t see enough of her for me to really talk about her. I am most excited to see how her storyline develops and much like how Dani is a lot like Bette, Finley is a lot like Shane. When she says she lives in a one bedroom in Korea town with five roommates and Shane says she’s been there before I was like hell yeah you have baby, I remember season one Shane.
Lastly, Micah. He’s my least favorite simply because I don’t think the actor who plays him is very good. He had very cute scenes with the new property manager, Jose, but while the dialogue/situation was very funny, I just don’t think he performed very well. He says the lines but he doesn’t really know how to emote and that may be due to this being like his first acting gig. Hoping his acting will get better as the season progresses.
Okay, now time to talk about the reason we’re all tuning in. The OGs baybee
Bette is running for mayor of Los Angeles and Tina is nowhere to be found. She has two phone calls with her but that’s all y’all tibette fans are getting. Sorry. Y’all know how I have called out Bette for being a whore in the past well, she’s still on her bullshit. Sleeping with married women and then getting called out at a press conference which her daughter finds out about later when she sees her whore mother trending on twitter💀. I’ve missed my messy queen. Throughout the episode it’s hinted at that Bette is running for office for a certain reason and she has this hatred for big pharma because of their contribution to the opioid crisis. This is my cracked out theory: I think Bette is running for office because a loved one fell victim to the opioid crisis and I think it was Kit. She has a history of addiction and we don’t see her in the reboot so those are my thots.
Alice. ALICE!!! God, I fucking love leisha hailey. It’s like no time has passed. She still has this brilliant comedic timing and it’s just so heightened this time around. The first time we see her she’s yelling at her girlfriends kids in a quest to find “the fucking spatula.” I love seeing her clumsily come into her own as a parental figure. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing her interact with the kids even more. She has a talk show just like in the original series and a few of the new characters actually work for her. What a coincidence, I know. Hopefully she won’t out any professional athletes like she did in the original 😂💀.
Now for this bitch. Shane is on our screens for two seconds before she’s fucking some woman and it’s like damn, nothings really changed hoe😌. She does seem to be going through some kind of depression. She’s returned to LA after selling her salon in Paris and NY. Daddy warbucks Shane is hot ngl. Although, she’s back in LA but she doesn’t know what she wants to do and I think she should get back into modeling because I’ve missed seeing her in her tighty whities. Now, here’s where things get interesting and I don’t know about y’all but I’m full on prepared to storm showtime headquarters. The three OGs have lunch and Bette and Alice decide to send a bed to Shane’s new house because she doesn’t have any furniture and they ask her if she’s going to talk to “her” and we don’t know who they’re talking about and my headass thot they meant Jenny’s dead ass like go visit her grave type shit. Anyways, Finley is sent over to put the bed together and while they’re talking to one another Shane’s phones goes off. Finley asks who it is and Shane says, “MY WIFE.” Excuse me? I did not wait my whole life for this show to come back for Shane to be married to someone who is not Carmen de la pica morales. What’s so special about this other bitch? Why can we marry her but not the funny, talented, beautiful, gorgeous, sweet, caring, wonderful Carmen? Hmmmmm???? Showtime explain.
