Collaboration Guidelines
Tumblr media
P5 Big Bang Participants,
As we get closer to our partner reveals, we would like to set and remind you of some ground rules that we expect to be followed throughout this event. Working with other people provides an assortment of challenges for all, especially when you’ve never done it before. Below we have listed a set of rules and guidelines that we as the moderation team expect all of our participants to follow throughout the entirety of the event. Some of these you will find repetitive, but we would much rather be safe than sorry and remind you of our expectations.
Let it be known now that we have zero tolerance for any of these guidelines being ignored or broken, and ignorance to the rules is not an excuse. You can and will be removed from the event immediately if we see or hear that you are not following our guidelines. These are made to ensure respect and kindness towards every single one of our participants, and we have no issues with removing you if we need to.
All guidelines can be found below.
You are all creators and should treat each other as such No one is in charge, and no one has say over what the other is doing. Your author is not your boss, and your artists are not in charge of you. This is a collaborative event and you should be treating one another as such. We are all equals and all work hard in our own ways. No one should be treated as a lesser.
This is not a commission Writers and artists both work incredibly hard to create their crafts. You are not paying your artist/author to create what you want, and therefore you have no say over what they do. Creative differences can and will happen, but just because you’re working together doesn’t mean that you have control over what your partner creates. Work together, make something together, don’t expect them to create your perfect vision.
Be kind and courteous no matter the experience Some of you have done many projects and feel very confident in your works, and some of you have not. We have a wide variety of very experienced and very new people, and everyone here deserves the same exact amount of respect, regardless of where they stand on the spectrum. Be kind, be respectful, be courteous and encouraging. Be excited about who you’re working with and boost them up just as much as you would want them to do for you. You are a TEAM.
Do not give unwanted criticism We have a lot of artists, betas, and authors that are here to provide feedback, which is great! But it’s only great if said artist or author asked for and wants said feedback. Criticism that is unwanted and unasked for can come off as rude and can easily hurt a creator’s feelings, and we have very strong feelings about this as creators ourselves. If asked, feel free to give your advice and work together, but otherwise keep corrective comments to yourselves.
Keep in contact with your partners This is a collaborative event, and if you don’t keep in close contact with your partners, how do you expect to be able to create your works together? How much you choose to share with your partner is your choice, and we don’t expect our authors to give full doc access or for our artists to constantly stream their work (unless you would like to), but you do need to keep in contact with one another and make sure you’re both doing well and are on the same page. This is especially important if you feel like you need to drop out of the event, please do not keep the mod team or your partner in the dark about it, we’re more than happy to talk to you. Stay committed and work together throughout the entire process. Nothing is worse than doing a group project and being the only one doing all the work!
You were placed together for a reason, be excited and encouraging! Some of you were placed with well known creators from the fandom, and some of you are brand new and just as deserving of the spotlight. The biggest thing here is that all of you deserve to be here. You are all talented, you are all smart, and you are all deserving of your place here with your partners. Anyone being upset about who they’re with or rude to their partners will be removed faster than you can blink. We do not tolerate bullying, and we will never tolerate it. We’ve thought through every one of our choices and feel that each person we’ve placed will be a great fit for who they’re with. Have fun, enjoy yourselves, and hype one another up. No one should at any point have to feel beat down or discouraged. Help us maintain the fun and friendly environment we’ve established and only make it better!
